Very poor service
I cannot describe all the pain and humiliation that I have experienced using Finnair. I bought a ticket on 6/16/23 from Sacramento to Antalya. And on 7/4/23 I got notifications that for no reason my return flight was changed, I had to fly out of Antalya 16 hours late and the layout in Helsinki would be almost 10 hours. This was the first unpleasant surprise. I called the agency where I bought the ticket, and they told me that I had only 2 choices - either use a new flight or cancel the ticket, but since I had already paid for the hotel in Antalya, I had to agree. Finnair left me no choice. At the end of my vacation, I arrived at Antalya Airport on 8/26/23 and went to the check-in desk, the clerk checked my passport and said that my name was on the passenger list, but my ticket was canceled. I asked what I should do, they called somewhere and told me to wait. I just stood and waited and didn’t know what to do. After about 40 minutes, a representative of the Finnair appeared, I asked her what should I do, why didn’t they check me in for the flight, she checked something on her phone for a very long time, and then said that she simply didn’t know what to do, probably I will have to buy a new ticket to Helsinki, I asked where I would buy it, she said that she did not know. Can you imagine - registration is over, I paid for the ticket, Finnair postponed the flight for no reason and now they don’t want to register me. I was completely crushed by this news. There were 20 minutes left before departure and the Turkish team was able to do something and I got on the plane at the very last moment. I have been an international traveler for many years and for the first time I used a Finnish company - which brought me so many unpleasant surprises, stress and moral trauma.

Flights cancelled about one month before departure
I booked my flights (for 2 passengers) from Munich to Ivalo and back as soon as they were available, on January 8th 2023. The original date of the outbound flight was December 27th 2023 and I had one night booked in Ivalo (27th-28th December) before starting my tour to see the northern lights on Dec 28th. There was already a change in the booking in...

Flight AY00100 1st May 2023 Hong to Helsinki
Seat no. 31L
Time: sometime after the first meal was served and most passengers had finished using the toilets
I went to the one toilet available at the very end of the plane. I was just outside its door when there was a sudden violent turbulence. I had to grasp anything as hard as I possibly could to avoid falling. The turbulence lasted quite sometime and growing ever more violent. Understandably, the crew members urged me to return to my seat. As much as I wished to do so I couldn’t without bumping into something or somebody. Nobody seemed to listen or care about the situation but to make me obey their “order”. Then there came a third member of the crew, a certain Mr. Wong/Huang. With very rude and vulgar manner he commanded that I sit down on the floor. It was probably the best position to take in such situation. I asked if he knew how to speak politely. On answering his tone was even more vogue and his manner disgusting.
In my many years of travelling and flying with different airlines, this was the one and only time I had experienced such disrespect and unprofessional behavior. Until your company take a good look into the matter I wander I’d ever even consider taking again finair in the future.
Desired outcome: your company and that Mr Wong / Huang own me at least an apology
I booked 3 airline tickets through Finnair to visit family in Italy
I booked 3 airline tickets through Finnair to visit family in Italy. I just received an email saying both my outbound and return flight have been cancelled with no other information. I have tried calling (I have currently been on hold for 3 hours) and chatting online (never any agents available). I have been given no option of a refund, or any other flights to accomodate the cancelation. It is impossible to contact customer service to resolve the problem.

Flight booking for a wedding canceled due to travel restrictions
I had booked a business class flight for my wife and me to attend my niece's wedding, flying out on Feb 17, 2022. Unfortunately, the event was canceled due to travel restrictions requiring a week's quarantine. A month before, I requested a refund for our non-refundable tickets and was advised I could rebook for another destination. However, when I tried to cancel 72 hours prior, I was informed my booking had vanished, leaving me without options and out $6000.

I purchased round trip tickets from New York to London on 05/04 including travel insurance through the Kayak search engine for the trip on 08/22. I paid a significant amount, with a specific booking reference. Two days ago (07/24), I received an email that my flight from New York to London is cancelled and I need to contact my agent to rebook it. After an extended wait time, I got to speak to a Kayak representative and asked to switch my flight to a later time (there is one more flight two hours later from my original flight and the seats were available). Today, 07/26, I got an email that I don't qualify for this flight and my request has been denied by the airline. My only option is to get a refund for the flight. To book a new flight now is double the money (maybe even more). I have to be at my destination for the dates I originally chose, because of my medical condition and the surgery scheduled. My travel insurance doesn't cover flights cancelled by the airline. This cannot be lawful, but no one seems to care...

Two days ago, I was informed my flight was cancelled and was instructed to contact my agent. After a long wait, I spoke to a Kayak rep and requested a later flight, which had available seats. My insurance doesn't cover airline cancellations. This seems unfair, yet no one seems to address it.
Booked a business class ticket with Finnair
Booked a business class ticket with Finnair. It's a two leg flight, first *** to ***, then *** to *** and the return. *** to *** leg is on American Airlines. They did not book us in the first class on the *** to *** and return flights, even though we paid for "equivalent" class on the partner airline. I looked at the American flights directly and confirmed that the flight *** to *** does not have First class available for the *** to *** does and they still put us in economy. Second and more importantly - I entered my last name wrong (*** instead of ***) and there is NO WAY for me to contact anyone. I've tried their chat service 5 times and each time they say they will connect me with someone and they they say the queue is full and try back another time. They got rid of their toll free customer service number and now require you to call a Finnish number and pay a fee - however, when I called this number, it was a busy signal. I need them to contact me so I can change my name on my ticket an I need them to move us to first class on our return flight *** to *** before its sold out. Also the number listed on this Complaintsboard.com website for Finnair in New York - *** goes to a hair salon.

Finnair has a promotion where they are allowing flight date changes until February
Finnair has a promotion where they are allowing flight date changes until February. I had a return flight from BKK to *** scheduled for Feb 12. On Jan 25 I changed the return flight date to Feb 20 which received no charge or credit. Less than 12 hours I later I contacted them to change the flight back to the original date. They told me this change would cost *** Pounds. This is in direct violation of *** 24-hour refund regulation which states all airlines flying in the ***, even international carriers, must issue a full refund if the reservation is canceled within a one-day window. Because I cancelled my change within 24 hours I should be entitled to a full refund of the original ticket. I am included below the response from Finnair I received on Jan 26 after I asked them to look into this issue.

My mother had a flight booked for Miami International airport departing from Paris this september ***
My mother had a flight booked for Miami International airport departing from Paris this september ***. She waited for a cancellation of the flight due to the current circumptances(Dorian the Hurricane). Since Miami is not under a direct threat anymore Finnair s flights are still operating. However my mother not feeling comfortable under the current uncertaincies concerning the weather, no vital ressources left in the supermarkets to spent her 10 planned days and with the hotel facing the sea probably closed until new orders, she decided to go ahead and ask for a cancellation of the trip and a refund. Finnair has refused, claiming a zero tolerance policy concerning cancellation and this regardless of the situation. Finnair is to me pushing people toward a zone that needs time to be considered as safe and welcoming for tourists, which is a complete lack of safety and humanity. Moreover Finnair mocks his customers genuine fears and anxiety concerning their safety and ability to adapt to a destination under state of emergency. She has no knowledge of disaster supply or how to manage her arrival in a place where all the basic needs have been bought by locals for their own 7 days supply. Holding on people money under these circomptances is a way to force them to consume their ticket or lose the full amount. Most people will take the unsafe choice of going, where they will have to be taken in charge by local facilities and help centers if they can not handle the situation as local do. Finnair is to me lacking of moral and putting people in danger. I also asked for an alternative, converting the ticket into a gift card per exemple or anything that can be used in the future with Finnair airlines and once again they refused. Finnair has abused, I believe, the customer's trust by showing no flexibility and no understading concerning one of the strongest hurricane category 5 of the past 30 years, leaving my mother with the choice of swallowing up her fears and anxiety or giving up on her money.

My parents were visting me in Norway. They are old peoples from India and they suppose to go back to India fra Oslo airport Gardermoen to New Delhi on 6th of Oct. 2022 by Finnair flight AY914 from Oslo to Helsinki and with flight AY121 to New Delhi. They supposed to get fully help from airport staff, but they couldn't go on plane because they couldn't fill the 'Air suvidha form'. They ask for help, but no body wanted to help them and they closed the in-check disk and let them stay behind. They still had enough time to help them. Their conformation. nr. is 6FHCK8.
