no power for days
I have not had power since Saturday September, 9th & the day I'm writing this is September 15th, due to hurricane erma. I believe I should not be paying the full amount of my fpl bill being that there hasn't been any power for days. No power has caused out home to not have power in refrigerater ofcourse losing money in food because it has all gone bad. Please be considerate of what I am going though and inform us of a new amount it would only be fair for anyone living under these circumstances.
lack of good service in area where I live
I have been a continuously disappointed customer of FPL for over 2 years now, between just the terrible service and the common power outages.
Now because of Hurricane Irma, we are once more out of power this time for 1 week now, when most of Dade county have their power back.
I wonder if the executives of FPL are experiencing the same negligence as we are.
The excuse of Irma is unacceptable as this is a recurring problem and FPL does nothing, and I mean nothing, about it.
Then comes the bill, where FPL with all their lobbyists go to FL congress and ask to add raise in our bill. And where does FPL expense the huge profits they are earning?, to new power plants, while the infrastructure are still archaic.
I contemplate to complain to congress and show them the work of FPL in our neighborhood and show them the reason why we loose power for lengthy period of time.
downed lines
At 7:30 on 9/9/17 I reported the lines were sparking and popping on our lane (Loquat Lane), the power was turned off shortly afterwards. Then at 3am on 9/10/17, the power was turned back on, and the explosion woke me, there were fireworks outside at the lines and I had to call again and ask that the power be turned off again. It is a miracle that no one was killed and our entire neighborhood burned down. The problem with the lines was due to tree branches that FPL had neglected to trim. Now we have to wait for the branches to be trimmed before the line can be repaired. We are told to stay away from the lines but they are hanging down in the middle of the lane and we all have to work for a living so we have to drive by them. Others in the neighborhood walk around freely because someone from FPL told them the lines were off. I was told downed lines were a priority but clearly that is not the case, it has been a week now, and another week before the estimate of repair. Video will not upload.
This is the story that came out on TV of the #Electrical #arcing #fire in our home, after a #transformer exploded & 2 power lines fell on top of the one feeding it.

no power - briarcliff area of fort myers florida
All the surrounding communities around us have had their power restored but us in Briarcliff. There are no down power poles in Briarcliff that anyone of us can locate & no trees on the lines as well. No FPL trucks or workers in Briarcliff trying to restore power to our neighborhoods of over a couple thousand people who live back here in South Fort Myers.
So something needs to be done as our homes are starting to smell because of the mold trying to set into our homes being so darn hot. FPL does not even show up to investigate or put out an update to our area. There is no apparent reason for us not to have our power restored like all the close surrounding communities that have their power restored.
FPL this is ridiculous & you should be ashamed for the lack of service you give all of us but you surely take our money every month regardless. I would like to hear from our government officials to get something done about this. I hope that a fellow Briarcliff resident will see this post and start to make complaints as well.
Please past this complaint onto the right officials to get our power back on ASAP!
delay in electricity service
As a paying customer like everyone else. I do not understand why my neighbors to the north, south, across the street all have power since Tuesday and Wednesday and our complex is still without power. The outside temperature been in the low 90's everyday. It is even hotter in the house. We in Fort Lauderdale did not get a direct hit not sustain hurricane winds. Basicly it was a bad tropical storm. I have a grandchild and pets. I believe this has been unesscery distress on this houshold/complex when all the neighbors in this region have their electricity. I'm very disappointed in FPL recovery system.

2017 hurricane irma power outage
Have not seen any FP&L or contractor trucks in the area between 45th street and 59th street on either side of US.1 in northern West Palm Beach, Fl. This appears to be a pattern for FP&L for this area. I'm pretty sure we are not the only area this utility neglects. However, since the hurricanes of 2004 and 2005, FP&L considers all areas with older electrical infrastructure IMO to be of low priority. We were told power was will be restored by 1145pm on 9/17. I cant tell you from pass experiences, that will not happen and a new date and excuse will be give via recording like this first advisory. At least back then you could talk to someone in the call center but that option doesn't even exist this time around. My guess is you need to live where the power infrastructure is newer to ensure a much faster response from FP&L. If you are unlucky enough to live where the wires and poles are older, just sit and wait and FP&L will get around to you when they feel like it. I would say from upper management on down there appears to be a level of disorganization and a lack of information to the public that is both frustrating, unacceptable and irresponsible given we the public pay in utility rates. If FP&L had to pay a steep fine per household or business for each day pass say 5 days of outages, you can bet they would move with much more efficiency. But they don't so we much like other communities will just sit and suffer until the power comes back on...when ever that is. If this is the level of service we should come to expect maybe we need more oversight and I don't mean the Florida Public Utility Commission.
power restoration
FPL was extremely negligent to send so many of its crews everywhere in Florida except the area that was hit directly by the eye of a major hurricane. Why would they send so many crews to the areas least affected by Irma? "Oh, those poor people in Tampa and Miami that experienced 90 mph wind gusts" got their power back very quickly, but SWFL was rocked by up to 150 mph winds and tornadoes. It is day 5 and I haven't seen a single FPL truck in North Naples. Saw a Pike electric crew fixing a parking lot light at Longhorn on Trail Blvd...great use of manpower when so many are without power to their homes.
power outage
Can someone please explain to me why EVERYONE remaining without power is listed as getting power back by 9/22 by 11:45pm. With all of the out of state help you could rebuild the entire electrical infrastructure in Florida by now. I live on Night Heron Drive in Naples and we have seen NOTHING ( No trucks) from either FPL or any the out of state electric companies. Is everyone who are still without power going to magically get power at 11:45pm on the 22nd?
power outage
6080 SW 38 Street is an assisted living facility! They still do not have power. Your web site states their power is fully restored. There has NOT been a truck in that area for 2 days. This is un acceptable. Contact me at [protected] if you wish to speak to me. I will be contacting local media and the mayor. I believe your numbers for people regaining power are grossly exaggerated. The public should be aware of this!

powerline down
We were told downed power lines were a priority yet the line in the backyard of 211 flamingo drive, 32773 is still down. What happened to safety first. We have called several times in the last 5 days and still nothing. Where is all of this preparedness for the storm and people are still in danger 5 days later. This is disappointing and scary. We need HELP!
power outage
Ok, I understand we just had a major hurricane hit the west coast of Florida, not down playing any damage the east coast sustained as well. I live in a very small community in Punta Gorda (Burnt Store
Village) Charlotte County.
As near as anyone in my development can tell there are 122 homes in the neighborhood have no power since about 2:20 Sunday when Irma hit. Yes there are downed poles and lines, yes the tree trimmers have been in the area and have cleaned up where FP & L needs to work. So why have we not seen anyone in from a power company in the area? Not all of us can afford a generator, let alone the fuel to keep one running.
Also, the power line to my house has a huge branch stuck in it, which more than likely tripped the surge protector at the transformer, which has happened on more than one occasion. Why can't a truck or two be sent into the neighborhood to look at things like that which could be a simple 5 minute repair (I know it takes about 5 minutes-I've watched it being done more times than I care to count). There have been times I have been the only house in the neighborhood without power due to this, only to be told by FP & L that they show power going to the house. Power may be going to the transformer or lines, but it's not going from the lines to the house.
There are people in the neighborhood that are elderly or for one reason or another can't evacuate or again afford a generator, when you try to get a direct line to FP & L you get a pre recorded message and get cut off immediately. WTF, please someone help us, Bryan Garner is making promises, but I personally see no action.
This morning 11 Feb at 8:15 I was crossing the Skyway Bridge heading south on I275. A FPL truck number 2556 was weaving in and out of traffic doing at least 85 mph. He cut in front of my car with no warning or turn signal to squeeze past a truck hauling heavy equipment and almost hit the front of my car. I slammed on my breaks causing the car behind me to almost rear end me. Your driver was completely clueless as to how close he came to causing a major accident in heavy traffic.
summit towers hollywood florida 1201 s ocean drive
Well into the 5th day with NO POWER on Sept 14, 2017. This means no A/C, no water, a boil water advisory but no ability to boil water!
FPL is ignoring our over 550 unit complex despite attempts to get power back. Restoration has occurred in all condos around us in all directions already for a long period already. MANY elderly residents with no A/C are suffering. A disaster waiting to happen.
Why has this 2 x 25 floor building not been prioritized for power restoration?
Do we need to threaten a class action lawsuit to get our power back? Trusting there will be a substantial bill credit but how will this help if elderly residents suffer permanent health issues?
power outage not fixing it.
I feel really frustrated it has been day # 4 without power and I have not seen 1 FPL truck in our neighborhood working on fixing it. When calling FPL for a status they say it will be fixed in 3 days... but there is no way! I work from home so this is costing me a lot without power and without internet! Because this is a statewide tragedy, no one will bother FPL with how long it takes for them to finish their job. They can do whatever they want. I stopped by an FPL truck and asked questions yesterday. The guy replied that my neighborhood is a mess (Pirates Wood in Yulee, FL) and that is is because the HOA does not want them to cut trees so we put ourselves in this mess. Not seeing trucks on day 4 of the power loss is not acceptable when other friends who live in Yulee had power on day 2!
fpl is the worst power company on the plant been out of power since sunday at 3 pm have not seen one fpl personnel on my street its very disapointing when a huge company can not even do their job. but dont pay your bill for a month and they will shut off power immediatly that is just not fair
hurricane power restore complaint
Yesterday, an electrical power compamy from out of state restore electric across the street. Two other crews were in the neighboorhood. When they were finish across the street they left along with the other crews at 2:30. Worked a total of 6 hours. The tree trimmers remain and sat in their vehicle till 5 than all left. Today they did not show up at all. I guess they are on vacation and not here to work. Heard last night an electrical crew were spotted in a casino in Miami. Don"t believe for one minute that FP&L. Is doing their job.
transformer
My address is 2260 NW 80th Terr Sunrise Florida 33322, We have complained to FPL numerous times because the transformer that handles 16 homes in our area keeps blowing. We are told we are working on it, but it continues to do the same thing Obviously over loaded. I am really angry now because Sunday night the power came on for our whole street and our transformer blew a minute later. When you go on your web site it says a ticket has been opened because of storm damage. THIS IS NOT STORM DAMAGE it is poor maintenance on your part!
electricity or lack thereof
FPL is the worst electric company in the entire union. Instead of patting themselves on the back, the staff should be acknowledging their complete incompetence in the wake of a storm that the company knew about weeks before it hit. It's hot and miserable in Florida, and the lack of power in my neighborhood - with the surrounding area on btw - is outrageous. What it puts Floridians through is utterly unethical! I've lived all over the country. Other electric companies deal effectively with all kinds of extreme conditions. This company is lazy and poorly managed, and Governor Scott should be demanding better performance and reasonable and timely responses!
fpl
The automatic system said that my power was supposed to be restored by 9/ 13/17. It is a lied, I didn't get any power. Now they jumped me back to the 17th, it is unfair. Nobody is working in my neighborhood in palm springs 33461, I see nobody. All engr trucks are resting at the south Florida fair grounds by 6 ich. Get to work, we have kids and elderly.
power grid setup in sea havens townhome community
This is a Townhome Community where all buildings except one are on the same circuit. The one building happens to be the one I own and have lived in for approximately 20 years. My power has never been as dependable as everyone else in this complex and especially after storms and hurricanes. I have complained to Florida Power & Light I have complained to the homeowners association with no response or result. My power supply went out the day before Irma arrived and has still not operating. All other buildings are up and running I believe there's a hundred three of us total but my power has not been restored and I'm told it won't be till the 17th. Why are not all of us in this home owner association on the same power grid. I have been told it's tree limbs causing my problem we have no trees we maintain the property well all is clear. I was told my FPL Representatives that my feed could be located anywhere doesn't even have to be close to where I live and that's why I have these problems. Why would the power grid be set up this way and why can I not be placed on the same power grid as everyone else in this planned community this makes no sense. I thought I'd try writing this complaint here because I'm not getting any response anywhere else. For an organization that likes to Pride itself I'm doing things in such a wonderful fashion it seems rather odd that this setup of the power grid has gone on this long. Does not speak highly of your organizational skills and use of modern technology. It does not appear to be a plan of organization it appears very hap hazard.
power
I sincerely appreciate the job you do, thank you. Was wondering why everyone in our area has power except for one neighbor and us. Who is responsible for downing trees touching FPL lines after the storm? Sitting here surrounded by water, no power and the threat of more rain is frustrating beyond words. Is there a way to get onto another transformer with the rest of the neighborhood ?
