My promotional purchase (fees for dental service) was to become due on June 6/11/06. On 5/14/06 I had my credit card send an electronic payment for the entire principle of the loan. I have the confirmation number of this transaction. For some unknown reason, which GE Money Bank has refused to explain, this payment was returned to my credit card. Immediately upon the notice of its return, I sent a letter to them asking for the reason for the return of the electronic payment. I have the letter from my credit card company to substantiate this rejection. I then replied with two payments within the specified time. I was overseas at the time, and although I immediately made payment, GE Money Bank did not credit the payments to my account until June 17, 2006. Of course, this made the payment APPEAR to be delinquent. Since then, I have sent at least 9 letters, including documentation, called their toll free number numerous times. Each time I called I was told to put my complaint in writing. Each written response was followed with a form letter asking me to phone their toll free number. One representative suggested that I might FAX the information. I did this TWICE and never received the courtesy of a reply. Meanwhile, the account has been referred to a collection agency and finally to an attorney. The total amount GE claims that I now owe in finance charges and late fees is $2,126.76 ALL IN INTEREST and LATE FEES. Although the federal and state consumer regulations state that the creditor must answer written complaints within a specified time, this has yet to be done.

This is my actual email to Old Navy, whose card is funded by GE Money Bank. There is no end to their lousy services and their inability to answer questions for what they do!

Subject: You have a problem

I am forwarding three emails I have reveived from Old Navy which state my online payment cannot be made. The emails state Old Navy received a notice from my bank with each attempt stating the payment has been rejected. I have contacted my bank, and they do not show any record that these payments were even attempted, much less rejected. There are however other payments from the same account that have been successful in the last three months. Whatever the problem is, it is on YOUR end and I request that it be corrected. My banker requests that someone from Old Navy call her to verify the funds are available and that the issues causing non-payment are NOT originating from my account or CNB. Her name is XXXXX and her number is XXX-XXX-2121.

Thank you,
Robbi McCormick

5/1/08 To Supervisors and Managers: On 1/11/2008 I bought two disc drives from Geeks.com. They ‘baited’ me with a PayPal Pay Later (PPPL) account where I could get the drives interest free for 90 days. I thought, “OK, I have done business with Paypal via Ebay for about a decade now. Sounds good. Lets give it a try.” I was approved. I got my drives. Geeks provided EXCELLENT customer service. A month later I had some cash. I went to the PayPal website to pay my bill. The site was ‘buggy’ and it would not allow me to pay my account. I thought, “That is strange. I’ll try again in a day or two.” At this time I still trusted Paypal’s competency. The second time I tried to pay online via my PPPL account – the amount that I owed ($64.98) was no where to be found. I thought, “Ghez. This is starting to cut into my time. This is starting to get frustrating.” So, a week or two later I called PayPal to speak with them about the problem. I was put on hold. It took at least 10 minutes to talk with an ‘agent’. This was way too long. The agent was of no help whatsoever. He said that he could do nothing ‘at that time’ because all of the machines ‘had just gone down’ and that I should call back later. My time is worth a lot to me. My time is money and this stupid little bill had cost me a bunch of money already via time spent trying to resolve the issue. So, after several times of me trying to make this account right via PPPL – I simply called Geeks.com and spoke with the customer service manager (his name is Brian and here is his extension #312 and Geeks phone number – [protected]). In less than 5 minutes I had given him my credit card info and had him PAID IN FULL. Geeks does their job very well. They just should NOT use PPPL as it is a nightmare and I will be sending them a copy of this letter. I apologize Brian if given them your ext. # is offensive. Thank you Brian. Please feel free to pass this note onto your supervisor. I will be the first one in line to suggest you get a raise in salary! I am not a first or second time computer shopper. I have been buying things via the net for over a decade. I have literally bought thousands of dollars of products both new and used without any problems. This PPPL thing has been the biggest problem I have ever had as it relates to internet shopping. This being the case, CANCEL my card, I will NEVER use it again. Keep my normal Ebay PayPal open as we occasionally shop at Ebay. Saturday (4/29/08) I get a paper statement in the mail from PPPL stating I owe them $64.98. This made me angry as I had paid Geeks in full myself two month’s previous as PPPL kept ‘dropping the ball’ and NOT GETTING THE JOB DONE. SO, ONCE again I called and ONCE again I was put on hold. Except this time it was even longer and WORSE. I was hold for at least 20 minutes. I told the PP agent – just let me talk to a supervisor. He has to get ‘info’ from me first. More of my time wasted. He tries to tell me a phone number to call. I do not want to be put on hold for 20 minutes again. I have a young family that I needed to spend time with. I tell him, “NO! I’m holding the paper statement in my hand as we speak – I ALREADY dialed the number that is printed on the PPPL statement – isn’t there anybody there in charge who can quickly resolve this simple problem for me?” He says he will put me on hold and get his supervisor. Ten minutes later, I am still on hold and I have still spoken to no one. This was too long and ridiculous and I had stories to read to little girls so I hung up the phone having never gotten a chance to speak to the so-called PPPL supervisor. Therefore, the problem remains. (Hint, PPPL – visit with Geeks about how to ‘do’ customer service CORRECTLY!) Here is the big picture I have tried several times to be responsible and pay Geeks via PPPL as agreed upon. PPPL keeps messing up and taking my time which is also taking my money because time is money. I ‘went around’ PPPL and paid Geeks myself because PPPL was so incompetent. I will not call and be put on hold again. And, if this charge is not removed from my account and ‘push comes to a shove’ – you will hear from my attorney. If you’d like to call me about this matter - email me FIRST regarding the time you will call me and/or call my wife. I am DONE being put on HOLD FOREVER with PPPL and getting nothing but frustration for all my attempts. I expect the charge of $64.98 to be removed from my PPPL account immediately and I expect to the account to be closed immediately. I will never use it again and will tell everyone I know to do the same. Stick with real cards from real banks that offer real customer service. I will be emailing and snail-mailing this to all affected parties. Regretfully, Dean Welsh A former PPPL account owner PS: again – I will NOT call you about this – you can call me and have I put YOU on hold for a refreshing change. Email first if you like to set a time to discuss this nightmare. tamwelsh@yahoo.com my cell: [protected] my wife’s (Tammy): [protected] Call between 500pm and 700pm CST as we both work. It would be best to call her. If you need to speak with me – so be it. Let’s just get this simple mess cleaned up ASAP. If you call and leave a message – please have the common courtesy to leave me a phone number with a NAME and a DIRECT extension number (again – learn from Geeks how customer service SHOULD be done.).

I contacted GE Money at least six weeks before by payment was due. I asked to verify the payoff date and I was given a date three weeks beyond the actual payoff date. THEREFORE, I was assessed interest from the time the purchase was initially made. Hearing nothing from them since the middle of December when I paid off my account I thought I had fulfilled my obligation. WRONG. On February 22, 2008 I received a nasty e-mail stating that my account needed immediate attention as it was past due. I contacted them immediately and, after much discussion, decided it would be best just to pay the interest and put the issue to rest. However they would not give me my account number over the phone. So I gave them my bank number and they immediately took the money out of my bank account -- only to credit it to the account in which I owed nothing. Again I notified them of their error and, after quite a lengthy telephone conversation I was told the matter had been corrected and I had a zero balance. NOT SO. I began receiving telephone calls stating my account was overdue. I am still in the process of trying to get them to straighten this matter out. In the meantime the are still applying interest to an account that was paid back in February in which I should not have had to pay in the first place. I will never do business with them again.

I am looking for anyone who has been getting harrassing phone calls from GE Money Bank especially after they were told to stop. This is illegal according to the FDCA. I am being sued by Ge Money Bank and I would like to bring some people to court as witnesses to this fact of harrassment. I know I have a fairly good case because of all my documentation. It would just be some icing on the cake if I have a line up of witnesses to really kick them where it counts. Please contact me at CTKFCMedia@aol.com.

Thanks.

I am in the same boat as many of the people that have complained. I purchased a Select Comfort bed along with some accessories in July 2006 which was financed through GE Money Bank. The bed was supposed to be delivered within two weeks and the rest of the merchandise was taken from the store the same day. Following a week after the purchase, I was notified by my unit that I was going to deploy in the beginning of August 2006 so I called Select Comfort and cancelled the bed delivery along with my account and asked how to return the merchandise I already had. Select Comfort sent me free shipment labels and informed me that they credited back the Bed purchase and no delivery fees where posted to my GE Money account and once they received the rest of the merchandise, my GE Money account balance would be zero. Select Comfort received the remaining merchandise during the month of August 2006. I deployed on the same month and returned on October 2007. I started receiving calls from GE Money bank telling me I owe them $500.00 dollars. When I informed them that my account had been cancelled in August 2006 and that all merchandise purchased from Select Comfort had been returned on that same month, they told me I actually only owed $300.00 but they couldn't exactly tell me why I was being charged that amount. I disputed the charges and refused to pay until they made an investigation. I also called Select Comfort to verify that they had received the returned merchandise. Select Comfort was able to confirm receiving their merchandise and assured me that I had no outstanding balance with them. When I told them that GE Money bank was trying to charge me $300.00, Select Comfort sent them the information. Since I do not owe GE Money Bank anything, I have refused to pay them. The late fees have been adding on and on. Now Encore has been involved and I am being harassed on a daily basis from 6 in the morning to midnight. I don't know what else to do...

Buyer beware! GE Money store is very shrewd and will stop at nothing to squeeze you. Their tactics are misleading, the reps I've dealt with rude, and the interest rates are worse than a loan sharks. Without going into detail, my story mirrors the others.
I knew I couldn't be the only one but what is amazing is that they are still out there, left to their own devices, all set up to screw the next poor slob.

There is ONE call center in India. Several others in the states. Get the hell over yourself. Oh you had to wait? POOR THING! Guess what? SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE! It is NOT a personal vendetta against you... nor is it all about ripping YOU off. And if you are going to complain about people not speaking english, perhaps you ought to learn to SPELL proper english?!

GE Money Bank is the Devil. We have been paying on our motorcycle for almost 2 years and we even have the canceled checks to prove it, guess what a repo man now wants the bike, ge money can not find our money but we have copies of the cashed checks with their account number on them. We had to get a lawyer, they are even got mad due to the several different answers they have recieved. I have called but my calls go to India, they gave me a new number, it ended up being a persons home phone number. As of now April 5 2008 they are going to take the bike and sell it at auction even thou we can prove all payments have been made. What to do?

I agree with every page of this and would join a class action suit in a minute. I had very similar results, recd a check 1 day before my promotional deal was up from my refinance company, called GE and was told if they did not have it in there hand by next day that it was too bad. This was not possible for me, so the result is an additional 1500.00 of finance charge, tho they were aware that I would be paying it in full as soon as I got the check as they were contacted the month prior.

I purchased a motorcycle and financed with them, 8 months later I traded that one in and purchased another. Instead of them showing a trade in, they just added the difference to the account so instead of a $190 overall payment, I am being charged the $160 for the original and $95 for the second. After several calls to customer service, and being transferred to "Jack" in India... I am still not fixed.

Last call I made thus far has been left at "it's the dealer's fault, and they will have to fix it".

If you really want to go after GE Money Bank, here are some facts and some ideas:

Some facts:
1) Bank Name: GE Money Bank
Address (for main office): 4246 South Riverboat Road, Suite 200, Salt Lake City, Utah 84123
Classification: Savings associations, state or federal charter, supervised by the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS)

2) GE Money Bank is headed by Mark Begor - mark.begor@ge.com . Email him.

3) GE Money Bank is chartered in several states, Ohio and Utah seemingly being the principal and most important states that host this monster. GE is headquartered in Connecticut.

4) File complaints against them in Ohio, Utah, Connecticut and your own state

5) File complaints against them with the OTC:
Office of Thrift Supervision
Office of Consumer Programs
1700 G Street, NW
Washington, DC 20552
[protected]
www.ots.treas.gov

6) Responding to complaints costs them money. File repeatedly.

7) Write to Senator Christopher Dodd. He is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. His posistion on these types of credit card issuers is one of wanting to reign them in and stop them from abusing consumers. His web site says that he will only respond to residents of Connecticut, but write to him anyway as Committee Chairman. Also write/e-mail your own senators. A list of all 110th Congress Senators is at:
http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

8) Get even and start causing them to spend some of the dollars they stole from all of us. Go to the web site of your credit card. (In spite of how the card may be branded, its GEMB in the background). Start doing things like requesting historical copies of your statements for as far back as the system will allow. This will cost them processing money and postage.

Doing some of these things will assure that ### like Mark Begor and the rest of his "management" team get challenged, get less bonus, have higher operating costs, and get forced into the light and exposed as the criminals they really are. Of course, these tactics can apply to virtually any credit card company as they all engage in predatory practices regarding interest rate manipulation, egregious late fees, over-limit fees and practices which manipulate and deceive.

To

Quality Manager

Compliance Manager

GE MONEY Intergrity and Compliance Officer

Customer Service Senior Manager

And Collections Issue and Resolution Manager

Hi All,

I worked with GECIS during the time of Tiger, where the values, intergrity and customer first were etched on rock, I am not sure if this still followed by ONE of your Senior Manager "Mr. SURAJ MISHRA" (phone# [protected], 040-[protected]) from Collection Team based at Hyderabad - INDIA. He behaved very rudely on the phone call with me on last friday (11th April, 2008).

His tone of words and voice and language was very abusive. He did not ask me what was the issue. Or seeked any clarification for what I have said. And started his blurt of stupid words which did not make any sense. I was flabbergasted on why a Man at his stature would stoop to such a low level. He should first seek clarification from me. Instead he took a call from Kelvin (his associate) and started abusing me. Incidentaly Kelvin the assoicate never told me that he is transfering the call to Mr. Suraj Mishra a Sr. Manager. The Sr. Manager - Suraj Mishra with his dehydrated thoughts and constipation of commonsense, started a slavo of hell fire from his bitter mouth. He threatens I should not use any references. Which I never did. I never refered any one. All I said was I spoke to some in GeMoney but there was no help can you please assist me. Saying this is incorrect. Please tell me?

Ok, please ask Mr. Mishra, is it his prerogative to say that he can remove another Assistant Manager from the job with GEMONEY, simply because I stated that I met that person few days back but there is no help from the concerned Assistant Manager, thus can anyone please assist. I said on the call I beg please help me to close the account. Instead of this he threatens that he can play spoil sport with another person career in GEMONEY. IS MR. SURAJ MISHRA SO POWERFUL. HOW DARE HE UTTER SUCH WORDS.

WHO IS MR.SURAJ MISHRA 'S MANAGER. WHO ARE HIS VP OR AVP OR SDO INCHARGE. ARE YOU PEOPLE SO THICKSKINNED, CAN'T YOU CONTROL MANAGER FROM UTTERING SUCH WORDS CUSS WORDS AGAIN.

HE THREATEN IF I DID NOT LISTEN TO HIM AND SETTLE THE ACCOUNT FOR Rs. 25, 000 (i had asked for Rs. 20, 000 settlement) he can move account to recovery and ensure that I faced music that is unbearble for me in future. what the heck he means. I am not coward to fall down to such threats, even fly by night operators never use such curse words, but this is GEMONEY, WHAT CAN I SAY MORE.

I am very disturbed by his words and behavior and such people should be stripped of their positions. And people who recruited him and promoted should be questioned.

All I called was to settle my account for good and was doing pesuvasive negotiations to have better deal. i came to close the account. Mr. Kelvin (assoicate with ge moeny) and Mr. Suraj Mishra had made me understand the hard way that human beings who owe money should be treated with contempt and abused like cattle.

I ask Mr.Suraj, what sin i have done that you were shouting at me literally like a mad dog. are you human?

My GE CASH CARD# [protected].

Sir/Madam - I do not to be harrassed by your managers. My Managers at GECIS in hyderabad were very cool and smart, they never abused me. Now I am your customer you can not do this to me. AT LEAST WITH RESPECT TO GE VALUES WHICH ARE TIME TESTED OVER YEARS ONE SHOULD PLEASE ADHERE, IF AT LEAST AS FELLOW HUMAN PLEASE BE COURTEOUS BECAUSE NOT ALL HUMANS ARE CHEATERS, NOT ALL ARE TERRORISTS AND NOT ALL WILL TAKE ABUSES LYING DOWN.

Thank you for YOUR patience.

hope god give guidance to Mr.Suraj Mishra.

GE Money Bank has been cheating me on my credit card. My credit limit is $275. I have recently paid $75.00 on the balance, making it NOW $193. I have called the customer service number, and they say that my available credit is 0! How can that be?! I am sorry, but !93 subtracted from 275 DOES NOT EQUAL 0! Did the people even graduate from the second grade? Can they not add! And what about my $75 dollar payment? Wouldn't that mean that I would have at least $75 available?
This is a piece of CRAP!

I have a GE Money Bank that had been paid in full for a couple of years. When I got married and bought a new house, I decided to use the card for new furniture. The purchases were made during a promotion of NO INTEREST/ NO PAYMENTS FOR 12 MONTHS. Fine. I've got one year to pay it off before any interest accrues. Well, the first bill I received had a minimum payment due and interest charges applied. I called immediately. They said not to worry, they would fix it, it would be fine on the next statement. Needless to say, I was on the phone again the next month. Not only was the the bill not fixed, I had accrued LATE FEES FOR THE LAST BILL NOT BEING PAID. Of course, they SAID they would fix it. It is not my job to spend two hours on the phone EVERY SINGLE MONTH to explain to them how to do their job. It is absolutely ridiculous that my time be wasted like this. They finally got the statement to say " NO PAY /DEFERRDED INTEREST" yet I am still being billed and receiving late fees. (Which are 39.00 by the way). Oh yeah, I also have an added purchase on the statement of $31.11 with a finance charge. Trust me, there is NO WAY I would subject myself to doing any further business with this company. NO WAY. But, to dispute the purchase, I have to hand write a letter to them and send it to them. Yeah, that's real convenient. I'm looking at my statement right now. The entire statement contradicts itself. "NO PAY/DEFERRED" but I have late fees because the minimum paymment wasn't made. This is asign of pure incompitence. Why can't they get it right.

For all the complaints listed above. I feel that lawsuits are in order, that is if you have all the paperwork, all the documentation, take them to court and also contact the BBB. The politicians that we have elected are suppose to protect us from this filth, the credit card companies do everything in their power to make sure that at least one of your payments will be late. They do this so as to increase your interest rate and charge you outragious fees, write your congressmen and senators.

Hi! The bank GE put my credit on deliquent score because they say that I did not make my payments . They received my checks, but someboby of this bank was steeling my money, and they call me really angry several times saying that I was not paying. So know I have a deliquent credit score, no one wants to give credit.

I keep sending my payments with the bank I have my accounts, but I am not sure if this GE MONEY BANK is going to really received my payments or is going to continue steeling my money.

I call them many times, but they just dont answer the telephone.
PLEASE DONT MAKE ANY DEAL WITH THESE BANK OR WITH THE STORES THAT HAVE ANY AFILIATION WITH GE MONEY BANK.

You are not alone. Rest assured, they received your payments. This is a running scam with CareCredit/GE Moneybank. Also check out www.pissedconsumer.com. There are several class-action suits being started against them...check your state.

DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!

When you pay, log your check # or transaction #. Get printed copies of everything. No use sending them as documentation to CareCredit/GEMP, they will claim not to have receievd them...just like the payments.
DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED! DO NOT PAY ANY LATE CHARGES OR PENALTIES! Let THEM take YOU to court...then i'ts on their nickle when they lose as you have the proof.

I have dealt with a lot of loans in my life and thought that MBNA was really a horrible company to work with. That was until I had surgery and used the in house financing that went through GE Money Bank. They were doing the "No interest for 1 year!" deal so I thought great! WRONG!
I signed up for the electronic funds transfer option so that I would not miss any payments or be late. I read the fine print and it stated that if you were either of these, they would start charging you interest plus late fees. No problems, until three months ago when for some reason they were "unable to access my account" and they were not getting paid. Nothing on my account changed, money was in the account. I talked to a supervisor who ADMITTED that it was on the company end and deleted the fees and put me back on good standing. Since then I get 5 phone calls a week or more telling me that my account is past due and I am being charged interest plus late fees. I even had one woman tell me that I was being charged late fees DAILY! I spoke to another supervisor who said that he saw I had been talked to and that I owed them late fees plus interest. I explained what had happened and asked him what the previous notes said in my file. He didn't know because he never looked at them. This was typical of ALL the people I had talked too. I would talk to one person in the morning about the issue and later that afternoon a different person would call me about the same issue. They were even calling me at work after I asked them not too. I had many associates hang up on me after I asked to speak to a supervisor. I finally just paid of the principal and closed the account. I told them to never contact me again. I will never go through GE Money Bank again and will urge everyone I know to stay clear of them.

I don't see anyone stating they double-checked or ACTUALLY read their contract before signing up. Most of the time if they just take a moment to contact the company, appropriately, many of the issues and misunderstandings could be avoided.
The world is not like "instant Martians" where you just add water and POOF solution happens-larger companies have more procedure built in, which can make it smoother and sometimes causes delays.
Also, the nastier you are to another human at the end of the line-may that negative attitude you apparently are broadcasting come back at you tenfold! No there is not an excuse for a rude interaction with customer service at any level, but there is no excuse for behaving with less understanding and humanity than you would in a face to face exchange. Go ahead and be a hostile demanding caller and every call will be notated for the totally insensitive and uncooperative nature you present and each associate that reads it will be instantly on the defense towards an awful individual that obviously cannot be pleased without being told exactly what they want-WAKE UP! The world does NOT work that way. Pay your bills on time and within contraints of your agreements and get a life.

The credit union should be able to provide a copy of the front and back of the cleared item to submit for payment research. Once that research is substantiated and applied, if found a company error then the account would be adjusted accordingly.

The financing company works from the information submitted by the dealer-that is why it is crucial to read the contracts thoroughly prior to signing. GE Money is unable to get involved with a dealer dispute unless legally advised to do so-have you spoken with the dealer? If you have a copy of a contract showing a discrepancy then send it to the finance company for correction or get a lawyer.

I set up a credit account with GE Money via Southern Dental. Planned payments were $80 per month. (What a joke). I just wish one company would stand by its word. Sent my account to collections ;according to them, payments were two days late. Increased monthly payment to $110 per month added a $39 late charge. However, once I pay the $110, payment will return to original payment agreement. I am called all day (every 40 minutes). Calls start at 8:00am and continues until 9:00pm. Just sent a letter to corporate office. Trying to refrain from being nasty to them, but they push your buttons real bad. Don't be scammed into using GE money. Oh yeah, don't bother to tell them that you are unemployed, and still trying to make payments. It's like a joke. Please stay away from G.E. Money

I'm not a fan of big government but this calls for a little intervention. This is exploitation of the consumer. A similar incident happened to me when I purchased a sleep by number bed. They financed just what I needed so that when the interest kicked in, my balance would be so far over the limit that I'll be paying over the limit fees for months to come. If this does not stop, I pray that society gets fed up with credit cards or "borrowing more than you can afford" that we all boycott these money making banks that practice the anithesis of Robin Hood.

I absolutely hate ge money bank. I applied for the gap credit card back in october. they said " if you apply for the card u receive a 20 % discount on the purhase) I gave them all my information and even showed the cashier my drivers license #
months had passed by and I never received a credit card or a bill. I thought it was odd but didn't think anything of it. in February I started receiving phone calls everyday . they never left messages. I called back the number and gave them my information ...such as phone number, name..etc.. ..the stupid customer reps at ge money bank kept saying " "well, you owe us 123.00 on this account. and I questioned them...I asked them " what do I owe you for ?" and they said " for the items you purchased in october at the gap. I told them " I never received a bill or credit card.. the customer rep just replied "I will send this to our complaint & resolution dept. " they still kept harrasing me. I ran my credit score and sure enough it was on there. I kept calling ge money bank and gave them my information ..they had a hard time trying to locate my account #. I gave them everything and said " this account doesn't exist...etc... I kept going back and forth with these guys. Finally, a customer rep said " well, I have your address in north carolina... " I told them ..I have never lived in north carolina... always lived in texas and my driver's license has always been tx DL. I told them I refuse to pay the 123.00 . It was an error on their part. they reduced the bill to 71.00 .. I disputed the score with the credit bureau. I told the customer rep that i wanted the credit card cancelled. I got a notice a week ago sayin my account is opened and they had lowered my credit limit to 200.00. because I had too many deliquent accounts open.( I have a car loan and student loan that are not deliquent . .
I'm also upset because they never cancelled my credit card like I requested . they said that they would go ahead and cancel it. Now, I have to send a letter to equifax stating that tthere are no deliquent accounts . hopefully, my credit score will be better after this. GE Money bank is a nightmare and I have learned never ever to sign up for anything in the store.

I am a co signer for a vet bill and the payment was late twice. I was never contacted to that and then ended up with delinquency payments on my credit report. I have tried to settle this with GE MOney but I get no response. I even am willing to pay the whole bill off if they will take off my delinquencies they put on.
I should have been notified to make any corrections.

GE MOney Bank sent a credit card I applied to the wrong address-which they deny. My statements were going to this address also. By the time they called I owed $50.00 In late fees. I paid the amount of the purchase I had made but refused to pay thelate fees because I never got any statements or even the credit card. The very first person I talked to admitted they were sending the statements to the wrong address. Everyone after that denied it. They called me 4 and 5 times a day for months. I kept refusing to pay late fees I felt I did not owe. They have single handedly ruined my credit. I had a spotless record for 30 years. I finally ended up paying around $150.00 in late fees that I still say I did not owe because they were too stupid to send the statements to my address. MY credit is still ruined even though I paid them. The fact that everyone except the first person I talked to denied they were sending things to the wrong address tells me that they are crooked or they have no idea what they're doing.

I refused to give them my SS #because the states in terms, they will share all information provided to them with other companies unless you submit in writting, on there form, to opt out. This form will be mailed to you on request after your application is processed. When I called, they explained all this to me. I did not give them my SS # By the time I could opt out they would have sold it many times over. I paid cash for my item.

"Commercial sale of SSNs. A major concern is the sale of SSNs over the Internet by information brokers. “As long as criminals can buy a list of names and SSNs through an Internet auction, we will continue to be plagued by the consequences, ” the Social Security Administration’s inspector general noted. (Testimony before the Subcommittee on Social Security of the House Committee on Ways and Means, July 10, 2003, http://waysandmeans.house.gov/hearings.asp?formmode=view&id=655 ) In recent years, most information brokers have curtailed the practice of selling SSNs. Like many others, my experience with GE Money Bank is nightmarish! I took advantage of a 12 month - no payment/no interest financing on a home entertainment system from Tweeter. We made regular voluntary payments, working the balance down so that the final "balloon" would be minimal. Well, due to starnge but true circumstances, we missed that last payment by 8 days.
I expected finance charges to be applied, and they were - $3500 on an $11, 000 purchase for one year! I filed an appeal and was called by a GE Money Bank employee, whose Name and ID# I recorded. He was actually somewhat sympathetic, and offered me a settlemnet in full for 50% of the charges. I accepted and paid that amount.
My mistake - I never received the offer in writing. Didn't think I needed it since I had his name and ID and I made the payment. Surely he would have documented the offer somewhere in the computer system or files.
Well, as yo can now guess, GEMB refuses to acknowledge the existance of the settelment offer, so they have called, their outsourced collection agents have called, etc., demanding the other 50%, plus additional finance charges. I have given the facts to at least 10 people, filled out thier dispuye form 3 times, etc. Nobody will take any action - I guess I am headed towards court. I am afraid I will lose because I trusted that when they make a settlement offer, they document it. But maybe they don't. And then they harass you and sue you for more money.

We are experiencing all of the problems associated with GE Moneybank that I have read on this site. The issue is interest
due in arrears on a television purchased at Tweeter. Apparently, this problem is widespread and is approaching fraud.
We are in the litigation phase at this point and would appreciate any information from former litigants that have prevailed over GE Moneybank. This case is to be turned over to NJ Consumer Affairs so we'll wait for the outcome.

GE Money Bank doesn't send out statements to me just late fees. I guess this is what they do. IS there somebody we can talk to other than a lawyer about a class action suit?

Please, Please nobody should ever get loans, credit cards etc. from this company. They are HORRIBLE.
I had a Sam's Club card and when we moved overseas I cancelled it. I received the confirmation letter from the bank stating they had cancelled my account. The VERY NEXT MONTH the card (which is supposed to be cancelled) was charged the Sam's membership fee. I sent them copies of the letter along with the bill and said to please cancel this bill the account was closed.
Well needless to say I went back and forth with them for months!
Finally they stopped billing me.
Well guess what, we also have excellent credit and now we are in the process of getting loans for a house because we are moving back home (USA). We have to explain to the bank why we had a Sam's club account overdue by 150 days! They didn't clear the debt.
I want to sue these ###s!

Dear GE
I received a letter of a bogus account opened in your company under my name. I say bogus because I never authorize this application to go through; therefore I request that you please fix this problem and make sure it does not affect my credit. I have also reported this matter to Equifax. Please help me resolve this matter because I will take no financial responsibility for any purchases made under my name with the account you have given to someone I don't know.Any questions please call me, I will need a spanish translator.

Sincerely, Jesus Castillo

We are military currently stationed overseas about to return to US and have applied for home loan only to see that have credit account delinquent 150 days past due on Sam's Card account that my husband and I personally closed at Sam's club in June 2006 due to no Sam's club at our overseas duty station. We subsequently received GE Money Bank credit card balance of $40.00 for annual Sam's Club dues and immediately sent the bill back stating we had closed the account already. Within 2 months we sent a letter dated 9/29/2006 stating that we would like our account closed (again). We finally received a letter confirming closure of the account and that Equifax, Experian, TransUnion and Innovis were notified "...to let them know you have decided to close this account." on December 1, 2006. We subsequently received another bill on December 20, 2006 with a $40 balance, in addition Jan 2007, and again Feb 2007 all three bills being sent back with a copy of the December 1, 2006 letter. We subsequently received no further bills.
Fast forward to May 2008, we are applying for home loan upon return to US and this shows up on our loan preapproval as 150 days past due for the annual Sam's Club fee. To add insult to injury, after calling from overseas, I had to demand to keep moving up the chain finally getting to a manager explaining that I am prepared to give GE Money Bank no more than 2 weeks to rectify this as it is costing me 0.25% on a 30 year home loan, and I am about to leave here in the next 2 weeks, and cannot afford this being lost in a paper loop. I specifically requested that I have someone answer my questions as to why I even need to dispute this in that I already have a letter from GE Money Band stating they have caneled my account. The answer was "either pay the $40.00 or write a letter to dispute. I requested a phone number of a company customer service representative, a number to apply for employment, an internet site to contact for customer complaints, and inquired on how they monitor themselves for quality control, all with the same answer among 3 different persons"...we cannot/or don't have access to that information..." I informed the manager that I am prepared to take legal action immediately upon return to the US in the next couple of weeks if I am not assured this will be rectified in the next 15 days. I also pointed out that suggesting that I pay $40.00 to clear this credit is a form of extortion. I also asked if the call was being recorded (as was my hope) and it was stated that it was, by one representative and the manager. Finally, the manager asked my to call Monday, as he would call "... his dispute manager and would see how he could help due to my upcoming moving circumstances. It is early AM here now SAT, it remains to be seen what kind of answer I get in 72 hours, if I can even get hold of this manager again.

Of note, after much prodding by me to the second representative, I asked what is the expected turn around time for me if I send a letter of dispute, and to no surprise the first 3 times I asked, it was "...it depends, they need to process and investigate it..." Finally, I got her to give me a time in days and she stated that I would receive a notice within 30 days. (Unacceptable in my case, which is what prompted me to request the manager above).

If there is anyone else out there with similar circumstance, I have informed GE Money Bank representatives that I am willing to take legal action if they do not take this opportunity to fix this problem in a timely manner (2 weeks).

By the way, for Suzy above, I do have a life, and do pay my bills on time, and do treat people with dignity and respect until I am given an obvious run around, treated with disrespect and no empathy nor accountability when I have documentation proving the wrongdoing of this company, as do many of the persons above. I deal with extremely demanding and litiginous persons every day in my profession, and you seem to be a little too sensitive to the persons/this company who are perpetuating poor customer service and hidden agendas. I am sure that if you are doing good work at your job, you will have less demanding customers and I pray that you are not one that will easily play tit for tat when dealing with an unruly customer. Remember, we are the customers and the customer is always right! At least that's how I treat those in my workplace, no matter how unruly they are.

Please excuse any typos, it's late here in the Far East.

1. If I mail in a payment it takes two weeks to process, (as told to me via phone by GE. So, if my dues date is June 15th and I mail in a payment today, (June 2nd), I could get hit with a late fee! In this case, the "statement date " is May 21. I received the bill on May 27. This only leaves a few days to respond.

2. I couldn't get in on line. Typing in the account # right off my statement was "invalid".

3. I used the automated phone service to make my payment. The minimum due AS STATED by the automated system was $200. 14 CENTS SHORT of the actual amount due of $200.14. This happened last month and for being short $o.26, I was charged a $39 late fee.

BTW: GE charges an additional $10 to pay by phone!

They set you up to fail.

In March of 2008 I went to Banana Republic to make a purchase, given the price for clothing I had easily accumulated a large bill, the sales associate informed me that by opening a Banana Republic Visa card issued by GE Money Bank I would save 20%. Now I typically don’t go for offers like this but I like Banana Republic and I fully intended to pay the card off in full as soon as the statement was received. Now in April my statement comes and I go online make a payment on April 11, 2008. To confirm payment had gone through I called the following week to check my account status and according to the recording “payment was received April 11th 2008 for $527.04”.

Now for the fun part….. About three weeks later I start receiving phone calls from the collections department notifying me that my payment didn’t go through and that I now owe $590.04. Turns out I must have enter the account number incorrectly but rather then notify me of the error they post on all the website account phone service and next months statement that a payment was made on April 11th 2008 for 527.04. So I call a number of individuals so that I can get to the bottom of this I am transferred from department to department and each one offering no assistance other then to tell me that I am past due on payment and that I owe then $590.04. Finally fed up with GE Moneys Goons I call the customer service representative directly with Banana Republic I explain to him the situation and he waves the late fee but unfortunately not the return check fee so I agree to pay my balance in full and the return check fee over the phone with him for a total of $556.04. On May 6th 2008, the check is cashed and I was able to see payment and a copy of the cashed check on my bank account.

So at this point I am happy to be done with it But boy was I wrong…. Apparently this was just the beginning. About two weeks after this I receive a phone call from GE moneys collections department informing me that I payment is past due and that I currently owe $91 dollars for this months billing period. I explain to Sarah the collections agent that the payment was made on the phone and cashed by GE Money on May 6th 2008. She notified me that my payment was credited to someone else’s account and that she would take care of it. She also told me to call back the following Tuesday to confirm adjustment had been made. When I called the following week I was notified that it would take 14 days to make the changes and that my file was marked under review. On Sunday June 1st 2008 I was once again contact by my dear friends from GE moneys collections department that payment was past due that they have no record of any payment being made (which if I call for account information it is still saying my April 11th payment went through) and that my balance is now $492.04. So my first question to this individual was if my originally bill was for $527.04 and I never made a payment how is it that my balance is now less then the original bill? I think I defiantly caught them off guard with that question because she had no idea how to respond and put me on hold at which point I wait for 20 minutes before I hung up. I called back a little bit later and was finally allowed to speak with a manager who apparently sees where the payment was made but unfortunately couldn’t make any changes; I would have to contact another department who doesn’t work on the weekends.

Which brings me to today…. June 2nd 2008, on my way into work a lovely women (AKA the spawn of Satan ) contacted me from collection to inform me that I owe payment and to ask if I am ready to pay, I went through the play by play of the past two months when I was met with “ you owe $492.04” so I asked her the questions that has been plaguing me…. If I didn’t make a payment how is my current balance less then the original
? The Einstein that she was replied “you just said they credited your account” so at this point I realized I was better off talking to a rock so I requested a manager and I was denied that request. She informed me that “obviously all I do is request a manager and then never pay my bill”. She then told me I need to mail or fax her proof of payment, something I would be happy to do you would think she would the correct fax number or at lest the correct number I could call back to confirm the fax was received; but that would make sense but in fact she gave me two numbers that do not exist. I called again and got in touch with yet another manager who gave me her direct fax number but when I call to speak with her regarding the account and the received fax I am told that she is to lunch well she has been to lunch for about the past 3 hours and my account still hasn’t been correctly updated. Grrrrrrr does anyone now what steps I can no take?

I had a similar problem to the ones mentioned here. I was assessed fees, then when I tried to correct my account I was put on hold for half an hour then hung up on numerous times, tried to speak with a supervisor and was told I couldn't, asked for the person's name that I was speaking to (when I finally did get a live voice) and was refused, threatened, etc. Is there any kind of class action suit against GE Money? Has anyone sued individually? I paid the money I owed, but would rather go to court than pay GE Money a cent that I don't owe them.
