False Claim - not told 3rd Party Service
I called the # from Computer & thought I was calling Staybridge Suites directly. This company using [protected] phone number. I asked Staybridge Suites? They did not say at anytime that they were a 3rd party company. I booked room. I tried to cancel today due to the fact that it is a 3rd party. They refused to refund. (R2571524049). Rude people on phone. Falsified company and service. Want my full refund immediately. Trying to visit with dad with cancer and now losing money to a company that lies to its customers.

Lack of reimbursement for false credit card charge
Upon chatting with an agent on the phone, I told the agent to NOT book the reservation on my credit card as I found a CHEAPER rate online. The agent booked it on my credit card, without my permission. I've YET to be reimbursed by the agency even though Aloft hotel reimbursed the agency as they noticed the double booking (once through me, once through the agency). Get a room told me that they'd reimburse me on 5/27 via email, and it well overdue the 3-5 business day mark..and nothing. My credit card company, Capital One is also involved. Both the Aloft Hotel and Capital One were not surprised by this poor professional behavior of getaroom.com as they have dealt with similar situations in the past. DO NOT book through getaroom. You will wait hours on the phone for customer service, and it'll either be disconnected, or you'll get nowhere with the agent on the phone. WORST COMPANY EVER. Total spam. R4929958

Room reservation agent
This was the worst experience I have ever had booking a room in my entire life ! I was not notified that I was talking to a third party site, the representative was pushy trying to book me two rooms instead of one and charged me $40 more than when I called the hotel directly. I did not receive an email for confirmation. If I had not written down the confirmation number I would have had no way to trace the reservation. I canceled the reservation the next day, we will see how that is completed.

Getaroom - falsely advertised price
Made a booking (R2496748269) and upon clicking ‘confirm booking' I was taken to a new page which confirmed I had been charged more than the advertised price. I had also been charged a huge amount of extra fees and taxes which weren't advertised first time around.
Upon trying to cancel my booking and obtain a refund within about five minutes of making the booking I realised that I wouldn't be issued a refund. Why? Because the free cancellation window ended 24hrs before I'd made the booking!
Calling from Dubai to Texas, I spent twenty minutes on the phone undoubtedly incurring large phone charges, I was told it would be sorted and rectified.
Absolutely no surprise at all to say that I have heard nothing since (except a computer generated email which I have replied to as instructed and had no reply)
I will follow this until issued a full refund and take it as far as I possibly have to.

Scam Business
I booked a room, noticed it was wrong dates. I cancelled within 12 hours of booking the room. I got charged twice. When I tried to file a claim and get my refund. I was told I SIGNED paperwork saying I COULD NOT get a refund. I am still trying to figure out HOW and WHEN did I sign anything. I have tried contacting GetARoom customer service number. **Cant get through**, can't send a email. It comes back, unknown address. There are so many other complaints because this company scams and takes people money.

I booked a room for a high school golf tournament. After booking, the golf tournament dates changed. I needed to change the reservations and BookaRoom would not make modifications or adjustments to the reservation. They charged over 570.00 in fees for just a 4 night stay. The total was over 1800.00 for ONE room. I only needed a room for 3 once some other parents were able to make reservations to go, so I even asked if my reservation could be made for a smaller room and I was told no. This third party booking site would not work with me in changing a check out date or modifying the size of the room. I did not see the fees on the initial booking site, but when I got my invoice, the fees were listed.
Desired outcome: Change the check out date, book a smaller room, or refund this room and make another booking for the dates needed.

Rip-off
I booked a room for 3-11-21. I did so on 3-10, with the advertised understanding of "Free Cancellation". This reservation was made the night of 3-10, not known whether my schedule would allow me to make the trip. I phoned the next day and was told that my card would be charged. On top of that, a $64 tax was added(to a $99 room). I went to the reviews and see this is a standard business practice. Well I'm one that will not accept this and will pursue resolution to my satisfaction regardless of time or resources. It's not the amount of money involved, but the bottom feeder business practices, that apparently constitutes a pattern. If I have to go directly to the offices in Dallas, I'm prepared to do so

I reserved a room over the phone -All lies
Stay away, I reserved a room with a hot tub, when I got to the hotel they say they do not have a hot tub. The hotel was ready to cancel, but they refused to cancel. they are liars and big-time scammers. They did not mention other charges and fees which were double the room rate. so even if you find a room at a good price in the end you will be charged double in fees.

High undisclosed service fee and the inability to get an itemized receipt.
I wanted to book 2 rooms at the Hilton in Ocean City MD, one for my family and one for friends coming with us. I searched online for Hilton Ocean City MD and the first website to pop up was hiltonoceancity.guest reservations.com. I clicked it thinking I was booking directly with Hilton. I ended up calling the number on the site bc the website wasn't showing any dates that were available. I spoke to a representative who found some dates for our trip and booked the hotel. I was told my room stay would be $1128.92 and I wrote down my confirmation number in my planner. At no time was I ever informed that I was dealing with a company other than Hilton.
We took our trip and when the other family went to check out and pay for their room they were told that they couldn't because the room was booked through a third party vendor and that the entire stay had to be paid for by the card used to hook the reservation. I went back to my email to find the confirmation and found that not only had I booked with getaroom.com but I also had a total of $1706.48. There was an additional charge of $577.54 on my bill listed as tax recovery charges & service fees. This was not the total I had agreed to. I tried calling getaroom to get an itemized receipt to see the breakdown of the taxes and service charges. I was told that they don't have itemized receipts. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that the manager would tell me the same thing. Eventually I was put on hold and disconnected.
I would like to see exactly how that $577.54 breaks down between hotel taxes and getaroom's service fee. I would like the service fee refunded.

Hampton Inn Charleston Historic District charges thru third party booking Getaroom
I thought I was dealing with the Hampton Inn in Charleston Historic District but was inadvertently dealing with Getaroom, which is nowhere identified on the reservation transaction. I was charged over $2700 for a five night stay, with $888 in fees. I am a Hilton Honors member and immediately called Hilton to understand the charges which is when I discovered that I had been scammed by your company.
I called last night, April 13, to discuss the exhorbitant charges of $888 on the reservation. I finally was transferred to the cancellation, change whatever section and was trying to get a representative when my reservation was cancelled. I immediately called again and got an agent named Res who was working from home and I told her that I was trying to get information about the charges when I received the cancelled notice. She said she couldn't make any changes since it was cancelled online. It was the same number that I called to speak to her...online. Now I have a charge of over $2700 paying for absolutely nothing and I now have to make another reservation for a room.
Your practices are very misleading. I would like a full refund of these charges. I feel like I have definitely been scammed by your company through your misrepresentation of your booking practices.

Misleading websearch and exorbitant fees rip off
We were on the road and I googled "Red Roof Inn Helen GA" and saw the first listing as "redroofinnhelen.guestreservations.com" which we believed to be the actual hotel's website. But now we understand that this site is just putting the name of the hotel in the front of its name. After booking the 2 rooms for the night of April 10 and getting to the hotel we finally were able to check our e-mail and noticed a subtotal of $369.98 which would was the actual cost of the hotel rooms and then a Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees of $169.60 and my credit card was charged to "Getaroom.com" I spoke with the hotel manager and she said this happens quite often where guests think they are on the official site and has tried to get their hotel off this website with no results because of all the complaints about these exorbitant fees. Recently 3/18/21 I somehow was connected to Getaroom for reservations at the Elizabeth Oceanfront Hotel. When I received the reservation confirmation I noticed that Getaroom had charged me for a higher room price and also added a huge amount ($268.72) for recovery charges and service fees which I did not agree to. Elizabeth SUITES also knew what these fees were for. I received the room confirmation 3/18/21 and Getaroom had already withdrawn the monies from my credit card carrier. After researching Getaroom on line it appears that I have been scammed out of $268.72. I want my money back before I turn it over to proper authorities. All this was for 2 rooms with 4 adults on 3/26/21 for Jack McGee. This was for confirmation # R2389993070

Fraudulent Booking and hidden fees
On Sat. February 27th I called what I thought was the direct reservation line for the Adante Inn of Sedona for April 5-7 (2 adults/ 2 dogs). I asked him if they had a sister hotel in Scottsdale for April 3-5th.
The rep, Moises, who booked the reservations, knew I was bringing my two Australian Sheperds for our stays in Sedona and Scottsdale I thought I was booking thru the hotel...his quotes were intentionally deceiving as he was not with either hotel, the price per room per night did not include tax, booking fee OR any additional costs for the dogs. He knew that we were taking dogs because he asked what I had and told me about his two. When I checked my confirmation email the next morning (2/28)my American Express NOW included taxes but did not include additional charges for the dogs which was an additional $150 at the Marriott and $25 for the Adante Inn of Sedona. I found out about this when I called the Scottsdale property directly and they said they saw the reservation but the dog fee was not included. I called your customer service right after and spoke to Ian who said she could cancel the reservation but I told her I wanted to call the hotel first to see what I might be able to negotiate with them.I said no problem and gave me a reference number 4615956 which she also emailed to me. After finding out from the hotel that your booking rep should have mentioned and included the Pet fee and taxes I called customer service back at [protected] and spoke to Inez. While very nice she said it was non-refundable and that they would have to speak with the hotel directly to get permission to cancel. I was put on hold multiple times over the next 50-60 minutes while she was unsuccessfully trying to get a supervisor on the line. While on hold I called the hotel reservations desk and spoke to a rep named Pretty...She told me this happens frequently with your company and while Inez came back from hold, Pretty told her that you guys needed to call the Hotel property manager and he would definitely release us from this reservation. Inez then offered me that the best she could do was offer me 10% off the quoted price. I said no that does not make up for the deception of the $150 dog fee...I was put on hold again. The next time Inex offered me 15% and after the next hold 25%...I rejected both and said with each offer you said THAT was the best you could offer each time...so the 10% and 15% was a lie. Apparently no supervisors were available that day but someone gave her authority to make those offers. They Cancelled the Adante but said the Marriott could not be cancelled without the hotel owners consent Spoke to the Property Mgr. this evening, Eric Valemzuela [protected] he said he would cancel the reservation without penalty Get A Room just need to call. I have put in a challenge with my American Express Card team. Get A Room team reps never call me directly. They have cancelled and refunded in several cases listed with BBB

“Free Cancellation” is misleading and my card was charged $64.00 for “taxes”
Never use this service! It's a scam. Late one evening, not sure of my plans, I booked a room, with the understanding of "Free Cancellation". Well, that was only until 12midnight, only a few hours from when I booked. Furthermore, they charged my card $64.00 for taxes. I was unable to cancel and have yet to receive a response. They will hear more.

Outrageous Taxes and Fees on Hotel Bookings
I need some assistance with a ridicules over charge for Taxes and Fees. When I made these reservations I thought I was making directly with Choice Hotels Comfort Inn and Suites in Fredericksburg, Texas at 723 S.Washington St. I booked 3 rooms, 3 different names under 2 reservations for check in March 19 and check out March 21, 2021. One of the reservations is for 2 rooms total of $1, 116.00 + $470.76 (outrageous fees). The other room was for $558.00 + $235.38 (outrageous fees). We have contacted your corporate office and your customer service neither of which would answer and customer service would not talk to us unless we needed to book a room. We have contacted Comfort Inn in Fredericksburg but they can't re-book the rooms with a 13% tax and fee because you reserved them. When I made these reservations I thought I was going through Choice Hotels and until I printed out the reservations today I did not know I was being taken by your Company. No matter what or where I thought I was booking from, you people are completely unacceptable as a representative for any travel bookings. I see your name all over the Better Business Bureau and it is all about this same tax and fee gouging that is on this complaint site. I paid for a cancellation date of March 17 by 11:59pm but there are no available rooms left so I cannot cancel. I have a party of 8 staying here and we have already paid in advance for other activities.
Desired outcome: I am requesting a refund for the outrageous taxes and fees. Travelocity.com and Booking.com all charge 13% as does Comfort Inn in Fredericksburg.

Credit for reservation cancellation
I inadvertently booked a reservation thinking I was on the actual hotel site. When I realized that I made a mistake I immediately cancelled the reservation within minutes of the reservation. In doing so I received a cancellation number but I did not see a credit to my credit card so I tried to call every number I find for "getaroom.com" to no avail. Every single number is a bot and when I ask for a representative the system basically reverts me back to the menu options. I then disputed the charge with my credit card company which came back and said that getaroom.com provided documentation that the reservation is "non refundable". How can this be if I cancelled immediately and was given a cancellation number and the charge shown crossed out? I also contacted the hotel to see if they were the ones who charged me and they assured me that they did not receive any money in regards to this reservation. No live contact phone number and sneaky tactics like this screams SCAM!

Charged for 3 rooms I didn’t use
I booked a room thru Geraroom for Holiday Inn Express. Something went wrong with my credit card and I was billed twice.($95.09) somehow I was also charged for a room in the same hotel($75)
When The mistake was made evident to me I called and was assured they were canceled.
My husband and I did stay there the night of January 21 checking out on the23.
When I checked today(Feb. 12) with the hotel I was told these reservations were canceled and they referred me to you.
Please advise me on what you will be doing.
Be aware if I am not satisfied with the results I will contact my credit card company.

Hotel Reservation
I reserved a hotel room with this company (I guess) and had to reschedule due to bad weather for traveling. I called the Hotel to cancel my room5 days in advance and realized I still have not been refunded my money.
I called the Hotel and they stated that I had to go through this company for reimbursement.
I called their 1-800 number but there was not option regarding a cancelation.
So I chose the option for an existing reservation and was informed that since my inquiry was regarding a previous stay ( December 30th, 2020) or for a stay that should have occurred, I am out of luck.
I have never had to call someone other than the actual Hotel to cancel a room.
