I believe this to be borderline fraud on behalf of the website I made reservations for. Granted I did not realize I wasn't on the actual hotel website when making the reservations BUT nowhere on the website indicated this reservation had no cancellation option. I tried calling to cancel (room reservations.com) and was confirmed my Amex would be charged regardless if I cancelled the reservation. It posted to my account immediately although AMEX states it hasnt on their end yet so I cant dispute until then. I simply made reservations today May 23 2023 for one night, June 10 2023 at the Norfolk Nebraska Hampton Inn. this site mirrors the look of the Hampton site and shows the variety of rooms available but nowhere does it indicate any refund or cancellation policy UNTIL you submit the reservation.

I booked a room with this SCAM site, and unfortunately, the hotel doesn't even have a record of our upcoming reservation. See, our reservation is now over two weeks out, and the site claims our pre-paid reservation is guaranteed. How can they say that when the hotel doesn't get our reservation until days before our stay would begin? They will not cancel the reservation for us nor fully refund us for it. To make matters worse, Hilton will not give us points for the stay AND we would have paid MUCH less if we just booked directly through the Hilton App.
GET-A-ROOM is a SCAM website, and we will NEVER use them wver again.

Failure by Getaroom.com to resolve my complaint
"Get a Room" aka "CCI Hotel" aka "Customer Care at Priceline.com" charged me on my American Airlines Mastercard, in advance for a two-night stay at a Holiday Inn Express in Red Bluff, CA for the nights of March 26 and March 27, 2023. I only requested a one-night stay. The information on the number of nights that I entered online (one) was different from the number of nights in the confirmation (two) after charges were incurred. Immediately after entering the payment information, I noticed that I was being charged for two nights instead of one. I called the toll-free number within seconds after noticing this discrepancy, at 10:45pm and made a second call to them at 10:51pm on March 25, 2023. I was told that no changes could be made. I was also sent an email confirming that they would not make any changes to my transaction. I eventually did stay for the one night at Holiday Inn Express, but paid Holiday Inn Express directly. I have received no goods nor services from Customer Care at Priceline. I request the entire amount be refunded: $351.78.

Ridiculous cancellation fee and no disclosure of service charges
I booked a stay at the Kowloon Shangri La in Hong Kong. I went thru to look for Shangri La hotel and the website did not say that they are a third party.
They also quote the same room charges

If you need to cancel, they automatically will take 50% of the charges, meanwhile, this is a booking that I checked off for allowable cancellation
When you contact them at the toll free number there's no agent to answer the calls.

I just had the same thing happen. I was on the actual site for the hotel I was getting a reservation for. I put my CC & info in. While I was looking over the info to see if it was correct, the site automatically confirmed it without me. Took my $278 and reserved a room in a completely wrong hotel. They refused to refund me. Kept telling me to not be rude & stay professional or they would hang up(the 1st one did). Once I called them out for being fraud & a site the govt is watching, she hung up on me. I'm calling my bank in the morning.

I thought I was booking directly through the Andaz hotel. There ad was very misleading stating the name of the hotel and guest reservations- so I thought I was getting the hotel reservation sight. I received an email with hundreds of dollars of added charges and saying no cancellation. Red flags went up. I called the number on the email still not knowing it was a third party company. The Getaroom agents are for the most part rude- cut you off and are very misleading. It is a total run around! They may now reinstate my room- which I don't trust and am actually afraid to stay there.

Holiday inn hotel reservation fraud
Priceline case number: CN03384063 GetARoom Case number: [protected] Reservation number: R4010232155 I was ripped off by GetARoom aka Priceline like thousands of other people who were duped by their fraud. They are thieves. They should be in jail for defrauding users of tens of thousands of dollars. They are criminals! First of all they “spoof” the hotel website. You think you are on the hotels website but you’re not. They show photos of the hotel but it’s fake — you’re on GetARoom not the hotel’s website. Total fraud! Then they give you a room rate but they don’t tell you they add another 50% to the rate for service charge. Then they send you a receipt that has been altered. It’s a fake receipt that does not show the extra charges. Interestingly they even sent this fraudulent, deliberately altered receipt to American Express. Unbelievable! Then they have a completely fraudulent cancellation policy. When I made the reservation at 8:15 California time it was already past 10 am Chicago time. Complete fraud! I was billed over $700 for one night at Holiday Inn Express in Austin. GetARoom only paid $129. They ripped me off for almost $600! Priceline owns GetARoom. They condone, permit and approve this deliberate and complete fraud. They are equally guilty and should be avoided. Both GetARoom AND Priceline say that YOU AGREED to this outrageous fraud! No one would agree to be be ROBBED! Do you want to be robbed? Then get a room at GetARoom.com or better yet - Priceline! They are in it together!

I booked a hotel with getaroom.com in Milan thinking it was a hotel in Varenna - they both had very similar names. I realised my mistake and immediately cancelled within 10 minutes of making the booking (booked at 9.05pm, cancelled at 9.12pm). Booking # R4104900514. Cancellation # R4101900514.
I spoke and e-mailed customer care who said it was within the hotel's discretion to provide a refund. They replied informing me that the hotel (Hilton) refused the request.
The booking was 3 months in advance therefore giving the hotel plenty of time to rebook. So charging me the full amount of USD 1234.53 is completely disproportionate to any potential loss the hotel could theoretically incur from me cancelling a booking that was 7 minutes old! I am sure they can re-book this room in Milan in the SUMMER. Charging someone a penalty that is completely disproportionate to any amount suffered is an unenforceable penalty under Connecticut law (which is the law of the terms and conditions to which I signed).

Now they are telling me that a refund cannot be granted to me because of their policy nor a rebooking. I called them several times and they are still refusing to give me a REFUND.

I booked a room at what I though was a Holiday Inn website. It was not. It was a fraudulent site for GetARoom.com — a site that has thousands of complaints and is subject to a class action lawsuit. They tacked on a $200 fee and when I realized it was a scam I tried to cancel. I booked it at 8:26 am 10:26 am in Chicago. You are unable to cancel after 10 am Chicago time. Total and complete fraud! Amex refused to intervene probably because they profit from the deception. Avoid GetARoom.com and their co-conspirator in crime — American Express.

I mistakingly booked a room on 3/11 for the incorrect date 3/I2. I wanted to stay on 3/11 therefore I cancelled the booking 1min from the initial purchase.
I called to request a refund and they stated no refund. I’m like what? I cancelled 1 min from reserving the room. I’m sure the information was not even sent over. Let’s be serious. I spoke to several reps. I’m thinking I’m speaking to the hotel, but I was wrong. I was speaking to a third party. After several attempts with reps were unsuccessful. I requested I speak to a Manager. After holding for a long period of time the rep took my information and informed the Manager will call me back. Roger contacted me and stated there is no refund that “you made the reservation and that’s the policy” he was vague condescending and not helpful, he was talking over me. When I requested to speak to someone else, he told me he is the only person I can talk to and there is nothing that can be done and hung up on me.
I was able to obtain Mr. Litman CEO information and plan to write to BBB if this is not resolved. I called the number on my statement to inquire for the last time after 2hrs.+ on hold. I had to disclose my disability which was unnecessary to express why this happened to me and ask if you need a doctors note! Latanya placed me on hold and came back and said the supervisor would honor 20% percent off $28.92 instead of $144.00. I declined.
I’m writing to request a full refund. The company should have at least a 30 to window to cancel incase an error is made, and can be corrected.

Cancellation policy
I made a reservation on March 7 at 09:02am CST - I cancelled the reservation at 09:05am CST and I have both emails to prove it. The stay was for March 14. I did not receive a refund when I cancelled, in fact the cancellation email shows they took the whole amount I paid for the room as the 'Cancellation Fee' - when I called the customer care number - that I had to find on this website because they don't publish it - I was told that the cancellation policy - that I must have clearly saw and understood was that I had to cancel on or before March 6 at 11:59pm CST in order to get a refund. Meaning that I needed a DeLorean with a functioning flux capacitor if I wanted a refund because I needed to cancel it before it was even made to match their cancellation policy.
This company is a scam - use hotels.com or kayak or any other booking site but this one.

I noticed in my confirmation E-mail that the date was wrong. I called immediately to have the date modified and the company told me to call the call the hotel. The hotel notified me that because they did not take any money from me they were not able to modify the date that was set by the third party booking agency. When I called get a room to let them know that the hotel told me that they had to be the ones to either modify or cancel the booking they refuse to do it. They also sent me an email saying that they spoke to the hotel and that I would not be refunded. Mind you the hotel has a 72 hour before arrival cancellation policy. Getaroon.com never contacted the hotel to cancel anything because if they did I would immediately have received my funds instantly. this business is a scam. They don't even operate under the name get a room.com they use IHG and other different websites so you don't even really know you're doing business with get a room.com I don't know how they are allowed to get away with this and take people's money and write up automated emails about talking to a hotel personnel when they haven't talked to hotel personnel so be very careful when trying to book and a hotel stay online because this scammy website comes in many disguises I'm in the process now of getting a full refund seeing how I did not stay at the room and I tried to have it canceled way within that 72-hour period almost instantly in immediately and these guys are still refuse to refund me my money my reservation number is R4050084132

Misrepresentation-no refund
On Feb 16, 2023 I thought I was calling a hotel for reservations but quickly realized I was calling a third party (getaroom). The person I spoke with seemed helpful enough. I asked him for a refundable room near the sites we wanted to be close to. My husband walks with a cane and can't walk far. I repeated I need a refundable room because my husband has health issues and since this was a booking for July it was far in advance and I never know what may happen. I was told not to worry he would get me a room. After we spoke in length and I made the reservation I had other questions so I called the hotel directly. They informed me the hotel was almost 10 miles from the sites we wanted to see and there was no free shuttle she was aware of and the closest shuttle was at least 3 miles from the hotel. I was told by getaroom that there was a free shuttle and the sites we wanted where within a few miles and we could walk it. My husband and I can just about walk a mile near mind almost 10. I then cancelled the room with the hotel and called back getaroom and cancelled with them. A few days later I noticed a charge on my account for the reservation so I called getaroom and was informed the room was non-refundable. I asked the girl if I could speak with a manager but was never given the chance she just kept informing me I accepted the terms and would not get a refund. I asked if they would possibly consider refunding half and she refused. These people misrepresent information they should be held responsible. I have since made a complaint with the BBB and have notified my credit card bank. Not sure if anything will come of it. Be careful of third party sites. One bad apple like this one makes the others look bad.

Hotel reservation
I tried to reserve a hotel room on 18 February 2023, believing I was on the Hotels website because the address started with the name of the hotel. It was early morning, I was in a hurry, between hotels and doing this in my phone. Once I clicked pay, I saw there was a $90 service charge for a $118 room! I tried to cancel, but no refund was offered. I then realized I had been scammed by Get a Room. They offered to refund less than half of the $90. I am furious. If I had been able to book directly with the hotel, it would have cost $130 with tax, rather than $222! How are they allowed to operate? Let’s close them down.

No refunds after the cancellation of my reservation
I booked a room at the Nairobi Serena Hotel through the website getaroom.com. I was supposed to go to Kenya from the 19th to the 25 february 2023. The trip has been cancelled because my son is sick. I CANCELLED my reservation but I noticed yesterday a debit in my account of more than 1500 EUROS. That is not normal. I cancelled my trip and I paid more than the amount of the whole stay at the hotel.
This a terrible situation for me. I would like getaroom to give my money back.

Room Reservation that getaroom.com won't let us change
I have a room reservation that I made through getaroom.com - I need to modify the dates of the stay at the hotel. getaroom won't make the change, they cite the cancellation policy which we are beyond the ability to receives a full refund. The rub here is that we aren't asking to cancel or for a refund. The operators keep telling me that I need to talk to "Sales" but they can't seem to connect me and further continue to cite the "Cancellation Policy". I will never ever do business with a company like this. Here is the policy for cancellation, not change, there was no language in the reservation about change:
Each room in this reservation is refundable for a limited time: Cancellations before 01/30/2023, 11:59 PM (Europe/Madrid) are fully refundable. Bookings cancelled after 01/30/2023, 11:59 PM (Europe/Madrid) are subject to a fee of 859.47 USD. There is no refund for no-shows, early checkouts, or cancellations after 05/08/2023, 10:00 AM (Europe/Madrid).
Desired outcome: Change the dates on my reservation. We had an unintended change in our itinerary that was beyond our control.

I have had the most MISERABLE experience dealing with GETAROOM! And now reading all of these complaints I understand why. They are not about service, they are just about taking your money and holding it hostage. I made a reservation in Dec and erroneously put in the wrong dates. I realized immediately and called them to say “hey can we adjust…I didn’t have my reading glasses on”. They basically said “too bad”. I called the hotel itself and they were lovely enough to book my accurate dates, and Amex has been fighting ever since to get me out of paying 2K for a res that was never used. Of course I was beyond the cancelation date because I booked the wrong dates! It was an honest mistake that I tried to rectify within minutes. GETAROOM could care less. They are awful to deal with.
They have a serious misunderstanding of the term change. The language on their website specifically states cancellation. How do they get around it? You must cancel to change. Highway robbery.

Tax and service charges added during paymentnof booking
I booked a hotel in Vienna today.
Reservation number R3999470040. The price was advertised at 220 euros. When hitting the reservation button to complete the booking, suddenly a service charge of 84 dollars was added for „taxes and service charges” (does not include city tax) during the payment cycle without a chance to re-confirm.
This is really very unprofessional behaviour from Getaroom, but it seems a common pattern.
The initial 220 euros were a standard price also published by the hotel.
