Green Dot All checking account services

I have been using Green dot as my bank for several years and there are times I go a little while without being able to add money to my account but when I start working again or get my tax refund I always have my money direct deposited to my Green dot account. This year not only did I wait almost a year to get my tax refund back but then I had it direct deposited to my green dot account and had nothing but problems accessing my money since then. It started off just certain transactions would get blocked so I called the number on the back of my card and updated my email address and phone number so all the information was accurate and also so I could log in to my account and monitor transactions. Well after I updated my information every banking feature, one feature at a time stopped working until I could not do anything at all and green dot disabled my card and closed my account because they wanted to verify my identity and every time i submitted my documents they did not approve them. Now my tax half of my tax money, the half that they did not let me spend is locked on my green dot account that is now closed and they are trying to tell me the only way for me to access my funds is by calling the IRS and having them reverse the direct deposit. I want my money out of my account and I want it out now! it is not green dots money to freeze. I could see it if the funds were being used and there were phone calls or messages being sent to them that the transactions were unauthorized but there has not been any of that they froze my account for no reason and then proceeded to close it without speaking to me locking my money up and giving me a [censored] reason why and an unacceptable solution. I waited long enough for my tax refund to be direct deposited in my account and I refuse to have them locked in an account that is closed for no reason!

Desired outcome: I want all of my money out of the account on another debit card or green dot money pack whichever is the quickest and I want the account closed after that!

Green Dot Customer Service

I have been trying to report fraud in my acct for days now. Green Dot contacted my on Monday 25th of Sept 2023 that someone was using my identity in order to purchase products from Burlington Coat Factory. I told them my card was on me and I was at home. The sent me verification code and the operator said she would handle it and my account was good to go. 2 days later I find out my account was closed I have a zero balance and no one can help me. Customer Service just hung up and now no one is picking up.

Unacceptable! This has got to get resolved or I'm going straight to my social media platform. I need someone to call me [protected]

Desired outcome: Put my funds back into my account.

Green Dot Money held hostage

I have had green dot bank for around 12 years now. I am retired and have my retirement and pension directly deposited into my account. 3 months ago, my card was compromised with unauthorized charges to my account from the online website, "Shein". I called green dot and they were able to reverse the charges and cancel my card, which was the desired outcome. However, I have had no access to my money ever since, 3 months now. No matter who I talk to, supervisor or not, I get a different answer and false promises. They tell me that my account is on restricted status, and once I receive my card, and I send them a picture of my ID, then it will be available for use. Every single time this happens, I send them my ID to get verified, and they email back stating my card will be mailed in 7-10 business days, even though I had already received a new card. So I waited patiently for this new card, and once it arrived, I went to activate it. I receive the same response, "your card is restricted and needs ID verification." I already verified it, but I went ahead and did it again. Once verified (which takes another 2 business days), then they respond with, "Your new card is on its way, 7-10 business days." I have been going through this for 3 months straight. My power is about to be turned off, as well as my cellphone. Green Dot is the absolute worst, most unprofessional and uncaring company I have ever experienced, and I warn everyone to stay far away from this company, so that you don't end up like me.

Desired outcome: I would like green dot to over-night express me a new card that can be activated without restrictions, and/or cancel the account altogether and send me my money via check or direct deposit into my new bank account.

Green Dot Since I deposited money on 23 of September I haven't received my payment

I deposited 300cfa on the 20 or 21 of September, I received some payment only for about 2 to 3 days, immediately I deposited 20000cfa on 23 of September into green dot investment bank till date I couldn't receive my payment again, please am begging you guys should see into this issues, the money I used to invest in to green. dot investment bank, I borrowed it from a friend please this issues should be addressed before the end of this week of September 🙏🙏🙏

Green Dot Locked / blocked account & card

Greendot locked my account with my tax return still in the account.. I submitted my i’d and asked to close my account so I can receive a check with the remaining funds.. They told me to contact the originator of my funds send but that’s impossible when the irs said green dot has to send my funds back.. Just giving me the run around while they still take a monthly fee out of my account.. This been going on for over a year I need help

Desired outcome: I want access to my funds..either unlock my account or close my account and send me a check with the remaining funds

Green Dot Green dot pre paid debit card

On 09/19/2023 at 2:55 p.m. I bought a green dot debit card from Walgreens 9458 Helena Rd. Pelham Alabama 35124 . I put $100.00 on the card. I've tried to register it many times { [protected] valid 01/25 cvv 125, and each time it tells me the 16 digit number is invalid. I want a refund sent to my P.O. Box 1348 Alabaster Alabama 35007. I'm very upset. I have called and no-one can or will help me

Green Dot Walmart money card greendot bank

Unauthorized charges against my card at the microsoft*store they refuse to give my money back its been almost 60 days since my card and account have been frozen.This has been going on since aug 4th 2023. They stole over 2000 dollars from me.They will not provide any information or paperworkas to how they made there decisions. After like 45 days they finally sent me a replacement card. Still no good account is still to this day frozen-locked

Green Dot Greendot card funds / card ordered without my knowledge

On September 12th Greendot allowed someone to call and order a new card which took 5 bucks out my account that's how I realized what had happened, Someone got my DOB/ social security number and called and ordered a new card trying to get my funds this caused my existing card to not work and me not have access to my funds I called to complain and they shut my entire account and a recording tells me I can never have a account or card with green dot I have over 2000 dollars that I cannot get to and it's hard to get in with someone that understands the magnitude to which the stress and anxiety this is causing me trying to explain and get information on my own card and money be in mind I never lost my card not was it stolen I have my only card that I never lost in my person as I wrote this and I'm behind treated like the bad guy I have never in my life had to go through anything concerning my banks or money in my life .I have with green dot ,no security whatsoever that's all someone needs is your social and DOB and they can access your account by calling the customer service number if they jsd needed the exact card number this would not have happened because i never lost it and they wouldn't have known that information only if it would have been lost could they have gotten that part .. But like I said that never happened they don't have a security measures in place like them knowing even if a person is calling from the phone number on the account or a security question or anytype of system,now they have my money and won't release it to me no one has called me written me im just being treated like a thug,,No the thug was the persin who did this to me and Greendot has let them and now All I keep getting is the run around and if I do get someone on the phone I get transferred to some team they say are dedicated to helping yet no help no money no nothing in furious and I'm presently speaking with a lawyer on behalf of my situation it's as if my money has been ripped straight from my pockets ill never trust another deposit of anykind to Greendot ever or use them or recommend them to anyone they should be no more...I need help ! Does anyone understand this!

Green Dot Unauthorised discontinuation of credit card

I am officially making a complaint about the Green Dot Corporation service.

On or around 28 August 2023, I requested a replacement card from Green Dot Corporation after losing my original one and relocating to a different location.

I provided them with my new address, and they told me the wait time to receive it would take up to ten business days. I received an early retirement supplement from Social Security for $ 398 monthly.

This payment goes to my direct deposit on my Greendot card, and I didn't discontinue the direct deposit because I was under the impression I would receive a card from them.

After the ten days (and letting the direct deposit go onto the card), I contacted Greendot and informed them that I never received a card.

They then told me I didn't receive the card because I needed to provide them with a picture of my identification or driver's license with the past address where I registered the card. I explained to them that I didn't have a current identification address with that address and that if they had informed me of that when I first applied for a new card, then I would have redirected my Social Security funds to somewhere else because I would have known that I did not have the ID what they were requiring.

I then contacted them and asked them if I could send them an alternative solution, and they told me that I could send them a picture of my ID, along with something stating that I was at my current address.

I sent them what they requested three times, and each time (they would send me an email saying that they couldn't read it or that it was not sufficient).

They kept telling me (there was nothing they could do even though they didn't tell me before I let my direct deposit go to my card when I was under the impression I was receiving my replacement card). I told them that I couldn't suffer for their mistake, and they insisted there was nothing I could do about it and that they would close my account in ten days - which meant I could not contact them or anything because I would not be able to provide the legit card number at the beginning of the call.

Their company is very unprofessional and has a customer service that sometimes doesn't speak English correctly. I hope you can help me get my money from them and (to ensure that this never happens to anyone else).

Desired outcome: Ide appreciate if I could receive access to my debit card.

Green Dot Customer Service

Hi I have a Walmart Money Card

I had a Pending Hold put on my card that got posted to my Account and now it won't fall off as a regular Pending Hold would. I need this Money and it has messed my account up because it got posted and not left as a Pending Hold. Customer Service won't help they want to file a dispute.

The Charge was on Sept 8th 2023, for 150 dollars. I really need it resolved

How do you even know my name and account number

Green Dot WalMart Money Card

About the middle of August, 2023, I noticed the merchant names were either partial addresses or completely wrong. I also noticed the list of transactions and balances displayed a balance that was $360 less than my own bookkeeping. Customer service is non existent. The live chat has inept staffing at the other end. They opened with "Haven't received any response from you, let us know if you need more time to respond." They said nothing to respond to in the first place. Nameless, faceless corporate entity that doesn't deliver when things are amiss. Currently I'm trying to debate a $57 charge allegedly made at a Shell station. Their (automated) response is to deactivate my card and lock out my account until the new card arrives. I have bills due long before any card would arrive. This might not be so bad if they ever involved an intelligent human.

Desired outcome: Drastic Improvements in customer service are needed. I want the fraudulent charges back without having to be without my money or ways to pay bills. This is completely unacceptable.

Got a response from someone who did not identify as connected in any way to Green Dot Bank/Walmart Money Card. Any email with "kindly" reeks of scam. Response sent by what appears to be a brand new account. WTF?

Green Dot Green dot prepaid visa card

I've been using green dot prepaid Visa debit card to pay my bills for over the last 5 years. So yesterday, Tuesday September 5th at 12:56 pm I went to a family dollar store #11808 @ 101 S. Reilly rd Fayetteville nc to load money onto my prepaid card to pay my rent per my monthly routine. There is a maximum limit of $500 per transaction and a transaction fee of $3.95 per transaction. Since my rent is $1200 plus a online portal fee of something like 36 dollars, I made 3 transactions to total $1300, the first transaction was for $500, the second transaction was also $500 and the third was for $300. I gave the clerk $505, $505 again and then $305, each time the clerk gave me my $1 and 5 cents change along with a receipt. I then left the store, grabbed lunch on my way to work, after my lunch I paid my rent through an app as per my routine. Now I had ruined my phone the day before by getting it wet so I had to download the greendot app along with my rent app with my iPad for work. When I signed into the green dot app I was informed that my account had been closed and I could do nothing else with the app. There was a message that said I can look at my latest transactions by going to their website directly in which I did. There I saw that I had made 3 adding funds transactions in the amount of 500 each, 3x500 equals 1500 which is a mistake, I also saw that I made the rent payment but there was another transaction that said something about a refund in the amount of $299 and some change I don't remember exactly offhand. I went into my pockets for the receipts and all three were for $500. This is when I realized the store clerk had made a mistake and over credited my account, at this point I had the idea that when the store realized their mistake and that possibly the clerk maybe said i only gave them 1200 dollars and that would explain the negative $299 transaction. I asked to step out of work to go to the family dollar store to see if I could straighten this out, when I walked in they knew who I was and informed me that they knew why I was there and even that they were surprised that I came back. They said the clerks drawer was $200 short and they were trying to figure out why, and when they did they pulled the camera footage to see who I was, that's why they knew why I was there. It was a simple mistake on the stores part and we people make mistakes, I have a meeting with the general manager of the store tomorrow morning. In the meantime I spent hours last night and nearly an hour today trying to connect with green dot customer service. After waiting a very long time on hold I was finally able to reach a person, the first person seemed hopeful as they saw the mistake and said that it wouldn't be a problem to restore my account, but they had to connect me with a "specialist" which I again waiting a pretty long time again, this person kept putting me on hold again repeatedly only to come back to tell me that they couldn't do anything for me and perhaps family dollar could. I asked for what reason they closed my account to which they replied they could not tell me, I asked if I could have the remainder of the money that is rightfully mine to which they again could not answer me and again referred me to take it up with family dollar. I asked if the store made the mistake which the store admitted making to me, then why am I the one being punished for the mistakes of others. Again nothing.

This was not the only time I had an issue with green dot customer service. Nearly a year ago I attempted to purchase health insurance online, I have a friend who's in the medical field and asked me what the insurance was, when I told her, she never heard of it before and quickly did a Google search to find that it was a company that had a reputation for scamming people. When you read the reviews they all pretty much said the same thing, that the insurance did not cover any of their medical bills at all and that they repeatedly tried to cancel the insurance with the company but yet they kept charging their cards monthly, that ultimately the customers had to cancel their cards and aquire a new card and number to make the fraudulent charges stop. They (the not so honest insurance co.) did the same to me and when I called green dot customer service, after waiting forever to talk to someone all they could tell me was to contact the insurance company to have them fix it. I told them I just want you to block them from charging me again, I don't want their service (or lack of) so don't let them take my money. Again they insisted on me getting the scam company to stop scamming me. Laughable, I read a few reviews to him and I said see, they don't care about me asking them to stop charging me and they are at long as YOU (greendot) keep allowing them to take my funds. More proof, greendot has a handy vault feature where I can stash funds so no one can take them, to which I did to protect myself from the scam insurance company. Now they haven't received a payment from me in over 10 months. One would think that any real legit and reputable company would cancel my insurance since I don't pay them. Last month I mistakenly put money on my card for a date I had in case we went to a place that didn't take cash, I didn't put this money into the vault and the wholesome insurance company got me for $100 and something dollars. It seems like greendot likes and sides with the thieves over their own customers. Maybe they have more in common then they have with me, since they now too, steal from me.

Desired outcome: I want them to make it right, restore my account with the balance it had in it.

Green Dot Brought card by mistake card

I purchased the wrong visa card and I want my money returned and the account closed [protected]/25 675.I cannot talk to a live person and am put on hold for 30 min I just activated it Tue Sept 2023 and a 7.95 fee has been taken out I want the account closed and my Funds from the Social Security I need this money desperately I've on a fixed income

Green Dot Expired card replacement

I have a gift card from Walmart for $250.00. It has expired and getting it reissued is next to impossible. I cannot get a person on the phone to speak with. I have the card and have not lost it.

I started with Sunrise bank, the bank on the back. I went to Walmart, they say it is a visa problem. But finding a bank to take responsibility for the card has proven to be quite difficult.

Please help!

Green Dot Fraud on my debit card

Unauthorized charges greendot wont refund they wont ans phone keep hanging up on me aug 4th I called told them I discovered charges on my card I did not make they froze my card then two days later there are more charges from the same company I thought that was why my card was locked so there could be no more fraud but they allowed more fraud charges to attack my account with a total amount of two thousand three dollars im 60 yrs old and on disabilty they stold my whole months income I cant pay my bills I still cannot axcess my account and I still havenot recieved my new card

Green Dot Banking debit card to access my account

I've been with Green Dot over 3 years.ive been waiting for a replacement card since August 20 2023.they say it's coming ups I asked for tracking # I'm told they don't see one you can't send anything without one.so still no card.there sending me cards that don't have my money on it and they won't transfer my money to the new card.im told to wait I have bills to pay what a mess this is I want my money I'm going to another bank as soon as I can

Green Dot Prepaid visa card

I have direct deposit set up through my employer. On August 20th, the was a deposit of $500 made to my account. Although the funds are there, my transactions keep getting declined. I have spent several hours on the phone with customer service. They tell me how "sorry they are for the inconvenience. We're working on the issue. We are upgrading our system and it seems to have affected your account. We will escalate this issue and your funds will be made available within 48 hours". It is now weeks later and I am still unable to access my funds. My bills are not getting paid, my gas tank is empty and I now owe late fees and I am behind on rent. I want access to my funds. And I want green dot to compensate me for my late fees. This issue has caused me more stress than I can put into words. I am now $1000 in debt due to this issue. An issue that Green Dot is not resolving. It is completely unacceptable to be in this position.

Desired outcome: I expect access to my funds as well as compensation for my late fees and the hardship this has caused me and my family.

Green Dot Have not received my provisional payment that they said was sent Aug 18,and no way to find out where it is

On August 2nd my green dot account was hacked right after my social security deposit. On Aug 18th I was told that my provisional payment was there for me, but not telling me how to access it, now it's Sept 4th and still no check from green dot and no way to reach them. Customer service said they cannot help me to locate the money because my card is blocked.

Green Dot Green Dot review: Green dot took $53,000 and closed my bank account without warning! Help!

I received my refund from my taxes after a couple of days it was locked and now they will not unlock it and it's holding $53000 of mine I've called numerous times. I'm getting the run around the amount is actually missing 18000 which we would be a total of $70000 it's been since the beginning of July and I still haven't gotten this settled when I called they say that they can't do nothing that I need to call the irs. I'll talked to the IRS they know nothing about it please help please help this company is stealing money from everybody and anybody

Green Dot Greendot walmart card

I received a message from Greendot that someone had tried to use my account through Instacart. They said they were locking down account and to contact them. The card should be restored within an hour of call and I tried to do a transaction and it declined. I called back and the second person said there was a glitch in system to try next day. I tried another transaction and it was declined. I called and spoke to third person. They said I should have a new card in three business days and I have not received it. They are giving me the run around and are passing the buck. I cannot even buy my medicine or get groceries because my paycheck is locked down on their account.
