Greyhound Lines Ticket Refund Request

This is to complain for the pathetic greyhound ticket refund system and stressful experience I have been going through for over a month. I purchased a Flexible ticket for Montreal to New York for the travel date of 31st December 2022. Later on, I found an alternative mode to travel on an earlier date and requested a refund request for the ticket. Since then, I have submitted number of refund requests form, contacted the customer service representatives but there is no hope of any solution coming from anywhere.

I never expected of having such a stressful and pathetic experience with a professional company like Greyhound. I am unsure of the next steps from hereon due to which I am writing this email to the larger group.

Name: Nittin Gandhi

Confirmation Number: [protected]

Travel Date: 31 Dec 2022

Time: 11.15am

Desired outcome: Please refund the ticket amount

Greyhound Lines No response to complaint

To whom it may concern,

i lodge a complaint 12/29/22 over two or three weeks ago expressing the over charged I had to pay in addition to the original RT ticket that I purchase for my brother Ronald Allen that was traveling from Buffalo, NY to Detroit MI during the month of December as a Christmas Gift to us both. Unfortunately, it turned out to a total disaster due to the very unprofessional services of the Grey Hound Bus My brother spent a big portion of his vacation stuck in a hotel and trapped in your bus station on the floor awaiting to continue his paid for RT ticket to and from Detroit MI. Please review my complaint lodged weeks ago so that this issue may be resolved.

Thank you, Tina Allen,

Desired outcome: I would like a full refund for all of my expenses due to the negligence of the Greyhound services.

Greyhound Lines Rescheduling of Trip

I go a round trip from Mobile Alabama to Houston Texas. Due to today being a national holiday I not able to see My doctor. So I called to reschedule and the representative said that I had to pay twenty dollar to reschedule. Due to unfortunate Life changing events I don't have the reschedule fee. So I'm going to lose My ticket non-refundable ticket fee all over a 20 reschedule fee that I had no idea of. This is a rip off. And everyone should be notified in Large bold print instead of being ripped off. So I think I'll take this complaint further. Making sure no one else gets ripped off by greyhou. This is certainly the last time I'll Ever set foot on a greyhou bus !

Desired outcome: At least waive the 20 dollar reschedule fee. My God!!

Greyhound Lines Bus ticket refund

On 12/27/2022, I purchased a bus ticket for $245.99. I found out that I didn't need to make this trip anymore so the following day, 12/28/2022, I closed the ticket and requested a refund. I called and spoke to the Supervisor, Aldair, he told me that my ticket is nonrefundable. I addressed to him that my ticket is refundable because I met the criteria; the refund policy is faulty, misrepresented, and this company is practicing an unfair trading because according to the "off cooling rule", I'm entitled to a refund within 3 days and the policy Greyhound have does not only apply to just a single purchased ticket. It's not fair how the ticket is nonrefundable because I never used it and I requested for my refund before the travel date. Supervisor remained deceptive and used the unfair policy on me. On 01/06/2023, I received a denial of my refund request. Obviously, I was robbed of my money and was manipulated through the misrepresented verbiage of this purchasing policy. I couldn't sleep and became very emotionally distraught knowing that I was getting taken advantaged of, and being mistreated through such a practice of deception and unfair treatment. I should not be treated any different to receiving a refund because I made a standard purchase, that was requested under the allotted time from the three days Cooling-Off Rule. Greyhound policy practice is deceptive and is unfair. This company ought to be shut down for misrepresenting their terms & conditions. I seek justice, equality and remedy under my rights of protection as a consumer. My consumer rights were violated. I lost $245.99 with no hesitation of their faulty policy procedure for refund and deception.

Upon request, I will provide all supporting documentations.

Desired outcome: This amount is based on the deceptive and unfair practice and ought to be penalized $25,000 for such faulty uniform practice, which I am seeking.

Greyhound Lines Double charging, not honoring your commitment, inconvenience, having to pay for hotel stay because of greyhound mistakes, poor customer service

On 12/11/22 I Tina Allen paid for one roundtrip ticket Departing 12/17/22 returning 12/27/22 at 12:15 for my brother Ronald Allen in the amount of $156.00 to travel from Buffalo, NY to Detroit MI. The Bus was cancelled that day and rescheduled for the next day 12/18/22 at 12:15 The bus broke down along the route and my brother had to wait 5 1/2 hours for another bus in which my brother was reissued a new ticket to Chicago returning back to Buffalo from Chicago on 12/27/22. My brother got on the bus thinking he was continuing to Detroit. When the bus came to its final stop in LA PORTE IN my brother realized that he was not in Detroit. He then asked the bus driver how was he supposed to get to Detroit? and her reply was that it wasn't her problem and that he had to get off the bus and that another bus would come the following day at 12;15 pm which was located at a Dairy Queen. Confused and afraid in the middle of nowhere he called me to tell me what happened. After many phone calls trying to book him a hotel room for the night without it being myself until I could call the Bus Station the next day I finally found a hotel that would allow me to book a room for $85 per night. The next day when I called the Bus Station thinking that the mistake was going to be resolved and that I would simply get a confirmation number for my brother to continue to his final destination to Detroit. I was sadly mistaken. Instead I was met with a lot of grief and confusion and very poor customer service who insisted that I had purchased the round-trip ticket from Buffalo, NY to Chicago and that I had to purchase another ticket for him to get to Detroit. After about 2 hours of going back and forth telling her numerous times and giving her my conformation number for the RT ticket that I had purchased on 12/11/22 she refused to correct the mistake that Greyhound made. I agreed to purchase the ticket to Detroit that was available at the beginning of our conversation that now was SOLD OUT! for that day. I purchased the ticket to Detroit for $103 for the next day which made me have to pay for another hotel stay of $85. Disgusted with the hold ordeal I mentioned that I would seek legal council I was placed on hold for a extremely long time to the point I thought that I had been hung up on until customer service came back to tell me that the origin could not be changed but that the return destination could be changed relieving me from paying for another ticket to Chicago for him to return to Buffalo NY on 12/27/22. Upon his return he had to sleep two nights on the floor of the bus station like an animal instead of a paying customer because there was no buses going out to Buffalo, NY. Conformation Numbers for all tickets issued RT Buffalo NY to Detroit MI #[protected] #[protected]#[protected]

Desired outcome: I would like a full refund of the $103 ticket plus the two nights stay of $175 totaling $278 for the incompetence of the Grey Hound Company.

Greyhound Lines Refund for unused ticket

This company, Greyhound/Flixbus has stolen my money. In the state of New York there must be a viable refund policy.

I called Flixbus October 18, 2022 to cancel my ticket - two days before my bus was to depart. I was told to call the Germany office whereby I incurred an $80 phone charge. I was not only hung up on twice and I was placed on hold for 15 minutes only to be told — I could not get a refund until after the bus leaves for its destination. Absurd.

After providing proof that I did not use my ticket or take the buse - On December 1, 2022 I received an email denying my request for a refund. This is unconstitutional and illegal.

Greyhound switched me over to Flixbus. They are just as responsible.

According to their policy After providing proof that I missed the bus guarantees my refund especially since I tried to cancel within a 48hour period. It’s the law. Yet they are still refusing to give me a full refund.

I am a disabled senior on a fixed income and I am being taken fully advantage of.

Desired outcome: A full refund of $121

Greyhound Lines Reimbursement for tickets confirmation #[protected] and #[protected]

Greyhound services at the Los Angeles Union Station were appalling and I am dissatisfied with your customer service. I purchased two one-way tickets (confirmation #[protected] and #[protected]) for November 12th for my 75-year-old mother and myself. The bus was scheduled to depart at 12:30am from the Union Station in Los Angeles, CA to San Diego, CA. Customers were directed to the second floor Gate 8 outside the Union Station bus terminal, where we were asked to wait there for the bus because the Union Station building was going to close at 1am for maintenance. My mother and I proceeded to the designated area and waited for the bus to arrive, there was no one to inform customers regarding the bus arrival, possible delay or confirmation of any cancellation. Over twenty individuals, along with my mother and myself waited for the bus. At around 1am, after waiting for over 30 minutes, customers became upset and overwhelmed because there was no one from Greyhound available to speak with to provide an update. After waiting close to two hours in the brutal cold, my mother and I decided to leave the station. Because of your incompetence and lack of customer service, I am requesting a full refund for the two tickets purchased and expect full compensated for costs inquired after Greyhound was unable to provided adequate travel accommodations. In addition to the two Greyhound tickets totaling $70, I am also requesting reimbursement of $100 for the private car services I had to take to San Diego. My goal in submitted this grievance is that the company will evaluate its services at Los Angeles Union Station and provides comprehensive customer services at all times. Please contact me regarding my refund and if further information is needed.

Thank you,

Ofelia Barrios

Greyhound Lines Cleveland, OH failure to allow myself and my husband to board the final Buffalo, NY bus on Friday, November 11, 2022

On November 11, 2022 my husband and I arrived in Cleveland OH to connect to the bus leaving for Buffalo NY with the final destination of Rochester NY to attend a funeral on November 12, 2022. When we boarded in Chicago the bus driver told us that we would probably miss the Cleveland OH connection to Buffalo because he was making a lot of local stops and would be late arriving in Cleveland and that a new company was being used and that company didn't wait at all. As soon as we got to Cleveland I ran ahead of my husband to see about making the connection and was told by the station manager that our bus was reloading at door 1. We got in line and the station clerk, talking rudely and using profanity, told us that was the wrong line. We went back to the desk and was told the Buffalo NY bus had just left out of door 8 or that it might still be on the yard. When checked, it had just left. The station manager tried to get an Uber to drive us to Buffalo to make our next connection to Rochester NY but couldn't get a driver. The desk clerks reprinted us new tickets #[protected] and #[protected] for the next Buffalo bus that would not come until 1 p.m. the next day causing us to arrive at 7 p.m. in Rochester where we would have missed the funeral, burial and repast. The station manager then finally got us a room at LaQuinta Inn but never got us transportation to the Inn so we had to stay the entire while in the bus terminal that was excessively filthy — human waste and dirty tampon on the bathroom floors, toilet bowls full of waste, soiled paper everywhere, roaches crawling around and from under my luggage on the floor.. We eventually got Amtrak tickets #[protected] and #[protected] at 5 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, the day of the funeral, but got to the funeral so late that we did not have time to change for the funeral and had to go in the same boots and clothes we had been traveling in since boarding Greyhound on Thursday night, November 10, 2022.

Desired outcome: We expect to be compensated for the damages we incurred through the neglect and wilfull wrongdoing of Greyhound in the amount of $3,000.00.

Greyhound Lines driver video taping a young girl at pilot corbin

corbin ky pilot is private property. Under ky law it is a crime to video tape a citizen on private property without their permission. Greyhound driver of bus number 861200 at 1:15 am unlawfully video taped a female wearing low cut top who was crying because her father went to jail. When the driver saw security watching him he quickly hid out behind pilot to avoid detection. Video taping a female for personal use on a greyhound drivers phone is both a criminal act, and violates greyhounds policies, regulations and code of ethics

Desired outcome: this driver needs to be fired for violating her rights violating state law and greyhound regulations

Greyhound Lines Bus service

In October 2022 I booked a Greyhound bus ticket from Seattle Greyhound Station to Pacific Central Station in Vancouver for the 24th of November, to return to Seattle on the 10th of December (also by way of Vancouver).

For my return trip itinerary (schedule# GLI6549), which I have the email proof of (and which your website still shows as my confirmed schedule… which I also have proof of) was to leave Pacific Central Station at 10pm on the 9th of December and arrive back at Seattle Greyhound Station by 2:20AM on the 10th of December. I then booked my flight back to Oklahoma City accordingly, giving myself, in excess, of 5 hours to get to the airport and board my flight departing at 7AM on the 10th.

Yesterday, I printed my tickets for the bus, and was surprised to see a December TENTH boarding time of 1:10AM, and an arrival to Seattle Greyhound Station at 5:50AM. Hopefully, you’re already noticing the problem — there is no way for me to navigate myself to airport, go through security, and arrive at my gate for a 7AM departure.

In addition to this, not only was this information NOT communicated to me, nor was it readily noticeable, but I have now had THREE customer service agents CONFIRM that the schedule HAS NOT CHANGED when I KNOW it has.

Not only can you now not book the 10PM bus ticket to Seattle Greyhound, but I asked the driver of my bus yesterday, and her manager confirmed that yes, this schedule change is happening.

Now, because of the mismanagement of this business and the way that it has caused stress to my travels, I will be willing to entertain 4 possible scenarios:

a) I am guaranteed / provided with adequate confirmation that the bus schedule I booked and is still being promised to me (though I know better).

b) I am guaranteed / provided with adequate confirmation that a hotel has been booked for me on the 9th of December as this schedule change has ensured that I will, not only, have to cut my trip short BUT ALSO that I will have to spend the night in Seattle on the 9th.

c) a new flight to Oklahoma City.

In my attempts to reconcile this situation, I talked with Bernalyn on chat and then Neil on the phone — both of them were not aware of the changes to the schedule / tried to assure me my itinerary was still the same. After waiting on hold with Neil for 30+ minutes, I was hung up on (and could hear lots of laughing and [censored]ting around in the background any time he was on the line). Then I talked to Ryan (which again, I could hear LOTS of craziness in the background), but he actually got me in touch with the promised supervisor, Marlou. Marlou was kind, but said the only thing she can do is reimburse my return trip… which is so far from the point.

If you want to continue running a business that is unhelpful, actually causes bits of harm, and is actively circling the drain, then keep (not) communicating this way / offering poor means of rectifying it.

If you’re looking to do and be better, engage me in a conversation on a reasonable refund. You have until the 8th to act as if you’re making decisions that affect people’s lives, livelihood, ability to make ends meet.

Sincerely,

Abby Wilson

Greyhound Lines Greyhound Rep changed my ticket to wrong name.

I (Tanya Luckett) contacted Greyhound Customer Service on Nov 17th to request that ticket conf# 1398387 for David and Tanya Luckett be exchanged for a round trip ticket for David Luckett from same departure City to same arrival City (Dallas to Houston) on November 24th, 2022. The representative changed the ticket to Confirmation#[protected] and emailed the confirmation at 9:13pm. After opening the email, I realized she made a mistake and put the ticket in my name instead of my husband's name David Luckett. I called customer service to get it corrected but was informed that they could not correct the error and change to the correct name, David Luckett. They informed me that I have to file a complaint online to get a refund for the ticket. Please process a refund so that I can repurchase the ticket for David Luckett or make the change and send me the correct ticket.

Desired outcome: I would like the ticket replaced with the correct name or a refund for the ticket so I can repurchase. The travel date is Thanksgiving Day Nov 24th at 8am so I need a response asap. My email is [protected]@aol.com.

Greyhound Lines Poor professionalism

I was told by the driver who took over in Montgomery Alabama after arriving in Nashville Tennessee that we were going to reboard that same bus after it was gassed up and we had a chance to get a rest. The call to reboard that bus never came, but that bus was given to another group of passengers who went to another city. The result of that is that I left 2 please of luggage under the bus because of what we were told by the bus driver. And when I addressed this issue to the other staff on how I could retrieve my luggage, they acted rude and nonchalant. Security officer was too aggressive towards passengers and talked to people like they were children.

Desired outcome: I want my luggage back and the staff at the Greyhound bus station corrected for their unprofessionalism

Greyhound Lines Greyhound Bus

Your bus driver was one of the rudest persons I’ve ever encountered. When asked if we were at the proper location, he actually replied, "you people should know that this is the station because you ride this bus all the time." I’ve worked in customer service for over forty years and I know how to interact with the public. His demeanor was horrible.

I was unable get the bus number, but our bus came from Baltimore and we exited in New York City at about 10:30 AM on October 23, 2022.

Overall, this was the most Mickey Mouse operation my friend and I have ever seen. There was no Greyhound sign at 1111 Rt. 73, Mount Laurel, NJ (no sign at all.) If it weren't for all the people waiting there we would not have known that there was even a bus stop. The riders were friendlier than your driver!

Desired outcome: Please contact BBB if possible.

Greyhound Lines Lost luggage

On October 25th 9:50pm Nashville bus to Cleveland. I put my luggage under neath the bus. When I got on the bus it was crowded. I wanted to catch the next bus at 3:10am. I told the bus driver I wanted to get my luggage off the bus as I was getting next one. He said I don't have time I have to go. He told security to close the luggage doors. Security was able to grab my duffle bag, or that would have been gone too. The bus driver drove off with my luggage, and clothes! Security said don't worry Iam sure it will go to final destination, and you can pick it up there. The final destination was Cleveland. When I finally arrived in Cleveland I went to customer service for help. I was forced to deal with a bif fat lady. Who looked like she did not want to be bothered by anyone unless it was for a ticket. I tell her about my luggage. She tells me I could help you with your luggage, but I don't want to. I don't want to go through dirty luggage, and I don't want to get dirty. You just want me to feel sorry for you. I was in shock, and appalled by her response! Iam just trying to get my luggage! Boy, what I am realizing is greyhound customer service is horrible! I won't get any help here! I did write a letter to cooperate, and filled a claim with baggage. They are sure slow getting my luggage back to me. I just want my luggage, and clothes back! That is not to much to ask!

Desired outcome: I JUST WANT MY CLOTHES AND LUGGAGE BACK! THAT IS ALL NOT TO MUCH TO ASK!

On October 25th I was in Nashville do to leave 9:50pm for Cleveland. I put my duffle bag, and luggage under the bus. I get on the bus, but decide to get off as it was crowded. I let the driver know I was taking the next bus at 3:10am, and I need to get my luggage underneath. The driver said I don't have time I have to go. He told security to close luggage doors. Security was lucky to grab my duffle bag, or that would be gone too. Security said don't worry Iam sure it will be there at final destination. The final destination was Cleveland. I took the 3:10am bus. When I arrived in Cleveland I went right to customer service. I was greeted by a woman who was big, and fat. She looked like unless it is to purchase a ticket don't bother me. She gave that impression I don't want to be bothered. Anyway, I approached her. She acted like she did not want to be bothered. She said to me. I could help you with your luggage, but I don't want to. I don't want to go through dirty luggage, or get dirty. You just want me to feel sorry for you. I was stunned! Not only was my luggage lost, and gone with the driver who took off with my luggage under his bus. Because he could not be bothered to look for it under the bus! Not only did greyhound lose my luggage, but there customer service is lousy! I realized fast they don't care, and I was not going to get any help clearly from customer service. My clothes are lost, and greyhound is sure taking there time getting it back to me! Even though I have given specific details! This recent trip from Greyhound was from hell! If I have to worry about greyhound getting to my destination on time, worry about my luggage; and customer service I will receive. I may as well stay home!

Greyhound Lines Greyhound Website Purchase

My Employer purchased a bus ticket for the 30th of this month, and our discussion was to get the earliest departure time available. I chose the 2:00 am route. When I got to bus station to check in I was told that bus ticket was a day late which showed the 29th. Because of it I had to purchase another bus ticket and am now dealing with a delay and it has been 4 hours and no one has shown. I'm very disappointed because I'm not arriving at projected date which is costing me money lost of wages and that the website is not properly organized. The 29th did not show until after the ticket was paid for and that is unacceptable.

Desired outcome: I would like to speak to someone regarding this matter for some type of reimbursement.
