Hi, I joined the gym company beginning last year, they took 6 months from the time they were going to open to actually open the gym. Within that time, I resigned from my job and called them to cancel, obviously I was expecting to be told on the procedure yet the guy told me "O it's okay, the gym isn't opened yet so it's not a problem" The gym company staff is very incompetent, they clearly do not know what they doing if I started getting 7 sms's a day stating that my account is in arrears! I am so annoyed with these guys! If I had been told the procedure from the word get go then all of this would not be happening. I do not know how to deal with this now as they do not respond to any of my emails, I'm always phoning them and following up. I now owe them for having phoned to cancel yet not being told the procedure, someone please help meee!

Hi there, please drop me an email on mmcherishkekana@gmail.com if you would like to sign a petition. A lot of people are complaining about the same thing but does not want to take action against them
i have the same problem with that and now their phone is always not working it rings but no one picks it up i don't know what to do because i have not even gone once to the gym and i have the same story as Bonging
With regards to the Consumer Act, what they did was wrong. As a company/salesman you are supposed to make sure the customer understands what he/she is signing up for. Not spring up nasty surprises after they have signed the contact. I am also in the same predicament as Bongani, I have never been to the gym, not even once, and still I am expected to pay? That's insanity
Is there not a way where we could get free legal assistance ?
I am also in the same predicament regarding cancellation and debit orders coming out of my account months after cancellation has been effected. I have searched for advice and I suggest we contact the consumer goods complaints commission with our cases. Let us all gather the appropriate evidence and contact them as this is the only way I think it can be resolved. The National Consumer Protection Act covers issues like these ones. Let us take a stand against this fraud of a company and fight for ourselves and thousands of people in the same situation.
Hi @Tido, i strongly agree, they keep sending me smses stating my account is overdue whereas I paid for cancellation fee.
