piedmont sectional
This sofa is now about 3 years old and the cushions are distorted and droopy. Very poor quality back cushions. It is just my husband and I using it on a daily basis with occasional weekend company. ( it's not like I have 5 kids crawling all over it all the time) We need to buy a new couch. We paid about 3000$ for this couch which comes to 1000$ per year. Not a smart buy.
Dinette set
Visited this store on christmas eve...In hopes to get a nice gift before christmas. The sales representative I spoke with was very nice (Barbara) , but her manager was very upnotches, arrogant, rude, and standoff... We ended up getting the set but only had it available for floor model, with some scratches and chairs that was advertise but no discount.
Living room suit
I purchased a living room suit from Havertys 3 years ago and they still havent made it right. The cushions have been replaced 3 times and they need replaced again. Now that it is out of warranty they wont do anything about it at all. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Haverty's lied to them and stated it was taken care of. NEVER purchase anything from havertys.
uncomfortable mattress
I have purchased a mattress from Haverty's website but the one I received was uncomfortable and not what I expected. I could not sleep because of a terrible pain in the back. I contacted their customer service, explained the situation and they sent out a tech. He took some measurements and told that there was nothing wrong with the mattress. When I bought it I told them that I had some health problems and they promised that this mattress would help me. Then I called them again and they finally agreed to review my case. They promised to call me back, but unfortunately no one contacted me yet.
Delivery of Service
My furniture was supposed to be delivered to my home as promised on Tuesday November 23, just in time for Thanksgiving. The main reason I brought the furniture is one the date it could be delivered (as I was just moving into my new) and 2 the sleek style. Well my furniture never made it to my home and now I'm being told it can't be delivered until after the...

We purchased this sofa based on the salesman telling us that is was their “top of the line sofa” and that the color is “all the way through the leather” and you won’t have to worry about the leather fading and/or rubbing off. We paid $1600 for this sofa just to have it only last 1 year. It now has numerous worn spots, some in places that we don’t touch. We...

Poor Integrity
I went into the store with the expectation that the 3 items
I had looked at and priced less than 30 days ago would be the same price. At
the time I originally viewed the pieces, I was told by the sales associate that
these items were not on sale, and was assured that the price would not increase
in the near future. I took several photos of the items as a reference point for
additional decorum. I returned to the same store, to only find that all 3 of
the items were marked up $100 higher than when I originally viewed the items,
but Haverty’s had a special for $100 off every $1000 spent. I informed the same
sales associate of the original prices and he stated, “our prices don’t change.” After several minutes of trying to convince
me I was lying, the associate called over a manager and she only insisted the
same. At this point, I showed them both photos I had taken during my original
visit, which included the original prices. In response to seeing the photos,
the associate and manager began a 20 minute rant that included excuses as to
why the items were marked up. I only asked them that they honor their original
prices and the current sale advertised, which would have been a $200
difference. I remained calm and polite
during the entire exchange, but wasn’t treated with the same respect. They both
insisted that I was trying to haggle them, and had little integrity. After
having my intelligence insulted and being disrespected, I left the store with
the $4200 I had desired to spend.

Damaged furniture
Seven tries to deliver a head board and arm chair. Constantly reassured by customer service that these items will be thoroughly be inspected at the warehouse. The SAME arm chair was delivered 3 weeks in a row. It had scratches and a stained seat cushion. It was delivered again for the fourth time today and refused. The headboard arrived damaged too. Customer service is a joke. We sorry, we will take care of it, sorry this happened is all I get on the phone.
Because of all of the damaged items and the refusals I went to the local store 30 miles from here to inspect everything. When I arrived damaged furniture was delivered to the store! The salesperson was even disappointed. This happened 4 weeks in a row so I stopped going and sure enough the next delivery was more damaged junk delivered to my home. It took 4 tries to get an acceptable dining room table. Five tries for a dresser. It been 5 months and we do not have a complete dining room set.
Today I told the driver my wife is so mad at the company for all of this she wants to send everything back. The driver responded "Well send it all back". Unbelievable! I told customer service I will not tolerate an attitude from some truck driver. I intend to contact to CEO of Havertys about all of this. I have photos of all of the damaged items that arrived and I refused. This is the most incompetent organization I have ever dealt with.
I will probably sue them in court. Maybe that will get someones attention. Do not ever buy anything from this company. Its all made in China junk. The worst furniture store, customer service, truck drivers with attitudes, and a store manager that does not give a damn. Sorry I ever walked into a Havertys store.
Poor Quality of Radford Leather Sectional
I have been a loyal customer and usually quite pleased. However, I purchased (in Orange Park, FL) the leather Radford sectional and ottoman less than a year and a half ago for over $4000. Already, the back of the sectional is sagging. There is no backing under the leather on the back of the sofa, so a pet could come along and literally cut through it with...

Three weeks ago I bought an expensive ($400) floor lamp at Haverty's in Knoxville, Tennessee. When I asked if I was going to see the item on sale soon, I was assured that I would not. In any event, I was told, they have a "low price guarantee" that is in effect for 30 days. Sure enough, this weekend the lamp was on sale for half off. However, when I contacted the store, they refused to honor the so-called guarantee. The reason offered was: the sale excluded previous purchases! What good is a "guarantee" that excludes previous purchases?

Never shop here!!!
We had found the home of our dreams and realized we finally had the space for king size bed. We had purchased the mattress and then decided to find the frame. After many many stores decided to purchase the frame from Haverty's furniture at the mall of GA. We spoke to a young man who wrote up the order and told us they would be delivering our bed that Friday. It was perfect since our Mattress was already there waiting for something to sat in. He said he could not give us a time however they would call us the day before. When the night before came and we had not yet heard from them so I called the customer service number listed on the receipt. They notified me they showed the order but a time was never scheduled at all. I called the store and the young man that took the sale said he would call us back and did but with a date almost a month away. After escalating the problem up the chain finally had the bed delivered the next day only for it to be defective. When I pointed this out to the delivery men they stated we knew you would notice that, he seen it when they were loading it at the warehouse and that they have been replacing this headboard for people all week. At the thought of this I told them to take the bed and they refused. Needless to say they were back that night to p/u the bed but i had to call the VP to make it happen.
Terrible construction and awful customer service
Bought $15, 000.00 worth of furniture with the gold protection plot. The plot was not worth the paper it was printed on. I demanded a refund and EVENTUALLY received it. There were so many problems with the items I ordered, they had to come get everything and reorder EVERYTHING AGAIN. So even after receiving all new items, (two living rooms suits) it still contiuned to fall apart literally everywhere. From the wood tables popping apart, the end coming off the tables to fabric ripping out of the cloth sofa to the stitching coming out of the leather theater seating and the zone rug literally just pulling apart just from being vaccumed. The expensive couch we bought was made with no leg in the middle to support any weight so there are phone books underneith to keep the couch from sagging. It has already been fixed one time. The lighting has broke several times in the entertainment center and the customer service SUCKS! If I had to give them a grade, it would be an E! I just recently contacted Haverty's in Bowie for the tech's name and phone number to pay out of pocket to fix my chair and they refuse to even give me his name and number! What kind of sh*@ is that? Since when were MONEY paying customers turned away? I tried calling Bernhardt for some extra fabric and now it is discontinued. How would Havertys be capable to fix my furniture if I still had the GOLD PLOT if the fabric is no longer available? If anyone can help me with how to get some bernhardt fabric I'm open to suggestions!
I've read your complaint and feel your pain. Years ago, I had experienced a similar problem with another furniture chain. The only resolution came when I finally decided to contact the president of the company. His secretary took the time to listen to my valid complaint and told me that she would relay my urgent request for immediate attention and would call me back ASAP. The secretary contacted me within the hour with an apology, stating that a truck would be back out for pickup and I would receive a full refund. According to your post, you also have a valid complaint. If you have not already, try calling the president of the company and make this level aware of the problems you are having. I'm sure they may be as interested in the difficulties you are experiencing with their company, as much as you are praying for a solution! It's their business to know these inside encounters that they would otherwise never be aware. Hope this helps.
Late credit to credit card after return
I purchased a TempraPedic Ergo king bed. Haverty's delivery people were unable to get the two motors to sync together because one motor was defecdctive. I told him to take it back; I did not want something that did not work. He said he could not do that but he would put in a service order. He did not so I had to call Haverty's to inform them of the defective bed then wait around another day for a Haverty's repair man to come look at bed. When the repair man arrived he said, "don't know why my boss sent me out here. I don't know anything about these beds but he said to come anyway." Needless to say he was unable to fix the problem. I called Haverty's to pick it up and credit my card for the defective bed. Haverty's refused until they had the bed and it was one week before they had a slot to pick it up...another day lost due to waiting for Haverty's. They picked up the bed on 8/16/11; partical credit to my card on 8/20/11 and balance on 8/25/11. What a scam. They charged my card $7132.57 on 7/20/11 but did not deliver the defective bed until 7/25/11. They held my money for one month knowing I had a defective bed! When I asked why my card was not credited timely she said it is their "policy". I purchased the same bed from Matress Firm and am very pleased. It is now my policy to never will walk into Haverty's again.

Don't Buy From them
Havertys screwed up an order we placed April 2nd. The furniture we ordered was finally delivered on June 17th! They did (so they said, but not yet confirmed) give us a $100 refund- which was the cost of the delivery|.
We paid $300 for Guardian protection for 4 barstools, one pub table and two swivel chairs, that were the screwed up custom order|. They provided us only one box of Guardian protection product which contained a can of furniture polish, a dust cloth and polishing cloth for use on the table/bar stools:. There were also two packets of wipes for leather furniture'. We don't own any leather furniture! I was told that the product for cleaning the chairs would be provided at the time of delivery of the chairs?. It was not|. When I called the store and talked to both the clerk that answered the phone as well as the store manager, they refused to provide product to clean the fabric chairs!
This is a far cry from the protection products we received from Stacy's for the sofa we bought at the same time, which contains about a dozen different bottles of cleaning product for fabric!. At Stacy's we only paid $92 for the protection plan on the sofa which has more fabric surface area than the two chairs combined.
So, when you make a furniture purchase, DO NOT put all purchases on one sale! We should have put the bar set on a separate sale from the fabric chairs. And, despite the terrible sales man we experienced trying to buy the chairs from Stacy's, we should have bought them from the fabulous sales LADY that sold us the sofa.
Warranty
“not filing a claim timely” seems to be a common scam for Guardsman. They mailed me one excuse than told Haverty Furniture another. Looks like Haverty’s Furniture is also on the scam. They sold me the warranty then later said that I should not have been sold the warranty on a floor model. Thieves ! Please avoid them BOTH.

Would not correct their mars on furniture
Haverty Furniture's designer only had $$$ instead of design when she sold us our bedroom suite. The door had to be removed from the hinges in order for it to fit up the stairs. We failed to see the scratches until lights were placed in the bedroom. They said we waited too long - 1 month. The adjuster looked at the furniture, needed a flash light to see the obvious hinge scratches, and left. We were then called and told they would do nothing about it. No appeal. No recheck. We also received the wrong color furniture. Beveraly is the pits.
Stay away
We recently bought a large entertainment unit and a desk with chair from Haverty's in Raleigh, NC. We were very pleased with the service from the salesperson, and the store manager even gave us information about where we might find the style of couch that they didn't have.
The delivery people called about an hour ahead of schedule (the information on the web site was accurate) to see if it was OK to arrive early. We said that was fine. When they arrived they were courteous and placed the furniture as we requested. The quality seems quite good, with better hardware than we'd seen in other stores. So far it's been a very positive experience.
Bad service
We found so many pieces of furniture in Haverty's that we were pretty sure we would end up furnishing most of our new home with stuff from the Raleigh store. WRONG. In a nutshell: It's overpriced for the quality, furniture arrived damaged and customer service was bad.
We ordered a living room set and a bedroom set (probably spent between 4-5k). When the furniture arrived the couch frame was smashed in and the leather accented headboard was covered with indentations from where they rested furniture against it. When they came back to bring us the replacement furniture (oh, we had to go a weekend without a couch because of their mistake--they wouldn't even supply us with a loaner), the couch was fine but the second headboard was damaged. The third time they came to replace the headboard they kept it in the box and it arrived undamaged. Why they don't always deliver anything with leather in a box to avoid damage is beyond me...except maybe they don't want you to see the box that says "Made in Vietnam."
During this experience the receptionist at the local store was incompetent and rude. The customer service reps in Atlanta just plain nasty. One even suggested that the indentations would "pop out" after a couple of days. When I said it's been more than a couple of days...she actually huffed and asked if I "just wanted to order a different set of furniture?" I told her, "No, I just want the furniture I ordered to arrive undamaged."
They ask you when it's convenient to deliver furniture and when you provide dates and times, they're never convenient for Haverty's (we don't deliver to THAT town on THAT day, or it takes TWO days, etc.) I even had one person tell me about all the federal regulations that "protect drivers" and make it difficult to schedule deliveries.
Funny thing is, I ordered some pieces on Overstock and they arrived faster, with no shipping costs and they were undamaged! Oh, and they were a zillion times cheaper and same or better quality than Haverty's.
Hey accidents happen...it's the way you handle those accidents that will make or break you. Haverty's needs some serious lessons in customer service. Had they treated me with some sort of respect instead of being ticked off that I actually wanted unbroken furniture- I may have gone back. Instead, we went somewhere else to furnish the other rooms.
Bottom line: if you want to spend more money for average quality furniture that will likely arrive broken...then Haverty's is for you!
incorrect rug delivered (twice!)
A month ago, my wife and I ordered a rug from Haverty's. It took 3 weeks for the rug to be delievered, because upon ordering, it is sent to the warehouse. After it get's to the warehouse, it is then sent to the customer's pick-up store. Three weeks later, upon pick-up, we took the rug home to disccover it was the wrong rug! Time lost! We took it back to...
