Very good staff over counter
Today I went to Hong Leong Bank at Taman Equine branch. There are 3 staffs over the counter. I did faced some issue on the fund transfer from other bank to HLB. And the staff really help me to sort it out especially the guy at the counter. He served n explain to me patiently and finally get my issue resolved. I have a very good experience today n keep it up the staffs in Taman Equine branch.

Company account to be closed
There was confusion between Seri Kembangan and Kluang branches regarding the closure of a shared account. The Kluang branch indicated that one shareholder could present to close the account. The Seri Kembangan bank staff stated that all shareholders are needed. This miscommunication caused frustration for the shareholder who decided not to proceed.
Desired outcome: I need an alternative to close the account without the need for the shareholders to present.
Refund/Transfer Overpaid Amount to Saving Account
On 15/11/22 (Tuesday) I made a cedit card payment for the amount of RM51.45. The next day which is 16/11/22 (Wednesday) I called back Hong Leong bank to get confirmation on this payment. The bank's agent has confirmed this payment.
The bank's agent checked my account and said that I had made an overpayment and would return the money of RM51.45 to me. The bank will transfer the money back to my saving account. Aftet that I gave my savings account to the bank's agent for this transfer. He told me that this transfer will takes 7 working days to transfer back money into my savings account.
On the seventh day which is 25/11/22 (Friday) I took this opportunity to call the bank back to confirm this transfer but the bank's agent told me that there was no transfer made by the bank and rejected all these things.
Here I want to file a complaint against Hong Leong bank regarding regarding this.incident and I want the money returned to me as soon as possible.
Application for current account
Two of hong leong branch rejected my current account application for online business, I asked why, then they said it's not available for online business for current account. Wtf? Is that even relevant excuse nowadays?. Is it that hard to open current account for me? Call their customer support they said there is no problem for me to open current account for online business. Very frustrating and wasted my time.
Desired outcome: I gave up on opening current account don't have any solution at all.

Can't log in to hong leong bank online banking account

I can't log in to my account online even though I enter the right username and password. Therefore, I decided to change my password, but the system told me to don't enter the previous password- isn't that means I had entered the right password? So what's the reason I can't log in to my account online?

Additional charges tt without prior notification
Hi Sir/Madam,
I would like to give negative feedback for bank services received at your branch in Alor Setar recently.
My mother had gone to your branch on 7 Sept 2020 to transfer some money to me in Singapore via TT. She was informed told by the staff attending to her that there would be a service charge of RM$12 to transfer RM$100k to me and that I will be receiving an amount of $32, 341.53, as indicated in the written receipt (photograph attached).
However, upon checking, I realised that the amount I received is only $32, 321.53 (short of SGD $20). I had personally visited my bank and clarified that they do not have any charges for receiving money via TT. (Photograph of bank statement on amount received attach)
After telling my mother about this, I requested my mother to call your branch to clarify. Initially, the staff explained to her provided the explanation to her that this is due to charges imposed by the Singapore bank. After my mother explained that I have already checked with the Singapore bank that there are no charges imposed for receiving money via TT, the staff then explained that this is KL Hong Leong agent charges and she forgot to inform my mother on the extra charges she is also unsure on the additional charges from the KL agent. After apologising, she ended the call without bothering to explain further.
My mother went back to your branch on 23 Sept 2020 to get the written receipt of the additional charges collected. However, the staff was unable to produce any receipt or proof that extra charges would be collected in addition to the RM $12 that was collected. The staff tried to resolve this by transferring the additional charges (RM $60) back to my mother's joint account.
I am concerned about this incident as additional "charges" was deducted without prior notification given to my mother. This was also not mentioned on the bank's website or the TT receipt for acknowledgement. I have lost trust with the bank's ability to handle our money securely. Is the bank skimming money off from its customers?
I look forward to hearing a better explanation on how our money was handled.
Here are the encounters of my mother with the bank in chronological order:
My mother went to bank 3 times to enquire about transferring money via TT to Singapore.
02 Sept 2020 - She went to ask about charges for TT services, the staff told her is RM$12 and no additional charges.
04 Sept 2020 - She went with all the documents and details, and double confirm that the transaction fee is RM12. There was also no mention of any additional charges.
07 Sept 2020- She went with my father to do the TT transfer from their joint account. Receipt as attached above indicating the money received inclusive of RM $12 and the conversion rate to reach an amount of SGD $32341.53.23 Sept 2020- She returned to the bank to get proof or receipt of the additional charges by the "KL agent"
This is a dinosaur bank. Changing fd interest from yearly to monthly
Every time I come to your bank gets my blood pressure boiling.
Today, we want to make a *minor* change on the FD account (under MM2H requirement) - interest from yearly to monthly. Any branch can make that change in their database with proper ID and documents (we brought original copies with us). We were told that we need to obtain a letter from Ministry of Tourism (MM2H). OMG! Are you kidding me! We're not CLOSING the account.
I thought this is a Singapore Bank and should have been smarter. What a great disappointment!
Everything with this bank is extremely difficult, you've to come back additional 5 times before your request is granted. It's like if you want to travel to Bangkok, the bank will make you travel to Singapore, to London, to Turkey, before landing in Thailand. Great customer service is NOT their motto.
We will promptly close this FD account and go to another bank.

I just called in HLB call centre [protected] at 9:26pm today to inform to blocked/cancelled the order of Aristo coffee which is unauthorized transaction by me. I got to know the order via email to me today. However, my called was answered by the staff named sound Charlene, which her feedback and comments were rude. I have been doing Cash deposit at the counter for a few years due to my company's requirements.
And there is a new staff Named Juliana always refuse to do the cash deposit for me.
I never cut in line and I always queue till my number.
And EVERY SINGLE TIME, she refused to do the operation for me and request me to go to the ATM to do it on my own. And sometimes I even uses half an hour or above occupying the machine just to do the cash deposit and got irritate by the people waiting in line on my back. And sometimes After I finish using the ATM some of the notes are not accepted by the Machines
So I will have to make it to the counter again just to back in the little amount of money. And she will just change the money for me and asked me to queue at the ATM again. Is it that difficult for your Staff MS. JULIANA to do the cash deposit operation? Or she's just being lazy?!
making problems
I am truly disappointed with Hongleong bank. since I could manage to get Pandan jaya branch hongleong bank in this morning, 11:00 . The stuff in pandan jaya could not settle down my problem which recommend me to go taman maluri branch hongleong bank, since I have been waiting for 2 hours with no response. Then when I reach taman maluri hongleong bank there, all the sfuff in taman maluri hongleong bank were useless, saying the same thing which recommend me back to pandan jaya branch. I have been waiting for 2 hours in panda jaya hongleong bank branch and 2 hours in taman maluri hongleong bank branch which until now there is no response. Sad to say, time is gold, and the stuff are worthless.
unsatisfactory of staff branch setia alam - doesn't helpful to customer on solving issues
My staff had went to Hong Leong Bank Branch Setia Alam on today at 14.34, he was there to get a cheque returned and for some queries by then the staff over there doesn't answer for the queries and keep on mentioning " Write a letter to HLBB and they will answer for your queries". Is this is the way of communication to resolve a issue or clarification from your customer? I wonder that we don't need to go to the bank for any clarification regarding to our company account since your staff asked us to write letter. The question that was raised to her is:
- To collect cheque returned CIMB 000060
- Any form or procedure to give a standing instruction to the bank to get a bank statement through mail?
- We already applied for online access but we unable to access to authorized account access due to none of the staff inform earlier to us during the application filled up, so just wonder to check whether we can use the same form to added for online access viewing bank statement or else need to fill up any form for it?
- We had fill "Maker User" detail for online access by then we don't receive one time password from HLBB, so what we can do next?
These are the questions raise out by my staff but it's really disappointing on seeing that there is no improvement on the handling customer and resolve in right way rather that wash hand by not helpful to us. My 2 cents, if the staff unsure of the question, she may ask the manager whom in charge that able to help her but that i don't seen any initiative by the staff at Hong Leong Bank.Please resolve it sooner.Thanks
