I reserved a room in Vancouver,CA, from what I thought was the Hilton.com website. They use this on Google and other search engines to make you believe you're at the hotel website. It asked me to prepay, and thinking I was Hilton.com, I prepaid. However, I came to find out that not only was I overcharged from the actual value of the hotel, but there were also over $250 in service fees.
After checking into the Hilton, they informed me that I had paid through a third party. First, I heard about it, so no Hilton privileges were granted, including the points stay. I called, and they didn't agree to reverse the charges so that I could book directly with the hotel. They refused and said that was their policy. And they charged me the Canadian rate in US dollars, so I lost almost 40% on the transaction.
If there is anyone else that would join me, I would love to sue this company, They need to be gone!
