I had purchased a very expensive semimount at Jared's about 10years ago. It was a horrible experience. That aside I went back last weekend, under diress. A prong had bent over...that was MY fault. Jared's wouldn't even touch the ring unless I bought an appraisal. The 3 carat diamond I have in the mounting did not come from them. They stated that work could not be performed without an appraisal. While I waited for the manager to return I decided to peruse their measly selections. An extremely snotty clerk waited on me. Apparently my new name is "sweetheart" or "honey". This is very condescending and I don't like the familiar tone. He TOLD me to take off my Tahitian pearl, diamond and 18kt gold ring. I asked why. He said it was pretty and wanted to take a closer look. I comply and hand over the ring. He then proceeds to verbally tear apart the ring. Asking why it's set in STERLING. I had to correct the simpleton. I did NOT buy an appraisal and I will NEVER return. These minimum wage folks have no right to question me, an experienced diamond and gem buyer. Factually I once managed a very large jewelry store. I do know a thing or two about gemstones. So, that's two visits and two very bad experiences. Since when do these people, whom expect you to spend your hard earned money on a LUXURY decide it's OK or acceptable to treat prospective buyers in such a manner? What low brow people. By the way, I found nothing that appealed to me. Their selections are mediocre at best and so very "see em" On every corner type junk"...common in every way. If being insulted is your thing, by all means go to Jared's. They'll serve you well in that regard.
Unauthorized credit application and unethical practices
On 4/25/17 I shopped Jared's in Boardman, Ohio, only beginning to look for an engagement ring. They talked me into a quick "review" of what my credit limit might be in case I wanted to purchase on a payment plan. I complied but then told them NO when asked if I wanted to open an account. I NEVER signed anything, yet two weeks later a new credit card shows up in the mail! And to top it all off, the store actually called me to ask if I had decided on which ring and the size of the diamond. Mind you, I was in the car using Bluetooth and my future fiance that I have NOT yet proposed to is sitting beside me. ###! I will never step foot in that place again unless it is to tell every customer in there what they are and how they operate!
I have already called an cancelled the credit card. I cannot remember the woman's name but resolution would be to have her actions reprimanded at the very least. Of course my guess is she is rewarded instead. Bottom line is if you want jewelry shop somewhere else... if you want an overpriced "dog and pony show" Jared is your place.
Credit lowering for loyal customers

I have been a loyal customer of Jared for a couple of years, made payments on time, never had to call me about missed payments. Yesterday tried to buy Christmas gifts for loved ones and come to find out that Jared lowered my credit line by 2k. Again I have never missed a payment and have a great history with Jared, their reasoning is that they did a credit check and for some reason felt that a loyal customer that has not missed a payment with them, needs to have his credit lowered. All I want is to have my previous credit line restored.
Engagement Ring
My fiancé and I purchased my ring and 2 custom wedding bands from Jared in Annapolis, Maryland on March 20, 2015. Since that time and through no fault of my own, stones have fallen out on 4 separate occasions. Some stones I’ve found, some I didn’t. During my engagement, Jared had my ring more than I. They refuse to give me last names, email addresses, or phone numbers for help. The District Manager, who would only identify himself as Michael, said a lawyer would take his side because he’s offering to continue to fix and replace the lost stone no matter how many times it falls out, for life. My wedding is in 22 days and I have no ring to wear. I need a refund so I can purchase a ring that doesn’t require repair every few months. Help! All we want is our money back for the faulty products that were sold to us. I have all incidents recorded, as does Jared, as I have immediately contacted them with each incident.
Necklace given as Christmas gift
I'am repeating this message because i'm not sure my first message went through. I received a necklace for a Christmas gift, by the time I was given the receipt & got to the store I was two days past the 30 day refund/exchange policy. The store & customer service headquarters would not budge on their policy & would rather lose a customer over a two day window. No longer patrons of Jarods jewelry.

Dhl has the most inconsiderate employees and also their service is baaddddddd! Fedex, ups, and usps have never given me the problems that dhl has given me. Still waiting on package that was supposed to have been delivered two days ago. Hellooooo, why did i spend so much in overnight shipping?! The drivers do not spend their whole day delivering or i would have my package right now. When calling the location i needed, they kept brushing off the situation as if it was nothing to care about. All i have to say is that dhl and some of their employees...Suck!
Misleading Promotion
I received a $25.00 promotion for signing up for their webmail.
I noticed they had a $100 discount for FUTURE purchased of Lois Hill jewelry for every $300 you spent. But you could only use it $100 for a $300 purchase in the future. No problem. I spent $829 which should give me 2 of the $100 certificates...I had an item for $329 that I wanted to purchase. I didn't receive my certificates and did the online help! They informed me that because I used the $25.00 certificate, I would not be eligible for ANY OTHER promotions. This is EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! The $100 certificate should not have any bearing on the $25.00 that they sent me for signing up for webmail. Two TOTALLY DIFFERENT situations! STAY AWAY or be BURNED as I was...NO more purchased at Jareds and I will spread the word!
The rep refused to change the ring, but it was defective
We bought two wedding rings from the company Jared Gallery of Jewelry. The seller provided the 3 years warranty and he told us that the quality was really good. But the ring simply broke after 4 days, and we decided to contact the seller immediately. We asked to change it, ‘coz it might be defective. But the rep refused and spoke in really rude and inappropriate manner with me. Don’t buy from them, ‘coz you will get awful jewellery and no services at all.
Horrible customer service
I went To Jared to have a vintage 3ct natura Russianl alexandrite and diamond halo ring repaired because one of the diamonds in the halo fell out, and needed replacing The technician inspected the ring and found in addition to the missing diamond, there was a microscopic chip on the girdle of the ring. After upselling me on "inspecting and tightening" the other settings, ($105) and a rhodium dip ($50)- this ring had been dipped by Jared just a MONTH before, the salesperson asked me the value of the ring. This was a vintage family heirloom with about 3/4 ct diamonds in 14k white gold w/ 3ct alex.- conservative estimate I put at 3K. The salesperson needed the stamp of approval from the manager. When it was reviewed- she (the manager) came and told me there was a chip in the alexandrite, therefore the ring had NO value, it was worthless, and they would take NO responsibility for the ring if I chose to have them fix it. She was cold, callous, and apathetic, reiterating it had no value several times.
The salesperson told her the technician had looked at it and said she could repair it with no problem, but the manager said, no, they would take no responsibility for it, and AGAIN said the ring was worthless.
This ring has alot of emotional value for me- when I got to my car, I broke down at cried.
I took it to a family owned jeweler with an excellent reputation-a friend recommended- turns out it could be repaired no problem (diamond fell out due to broken prong- they showed me with an eye magnifier) and also showed me how microscopic the chip was- could easily be recut with very little carat loss= very little devalue of the ring.
Jared's langhorne pa have the rudest sales people on earth
I went there to purchase a ring I stood by the case more than ten minutes and no one ever helped me even though there were all of 3 customers including me there and more than 4 salespeople most of which were doing nothing
Needless to say I left went across the street To Zales and purchased a ring with cash that day.i guess Jared the galleria of rudeness dosent need to make sales and their snooty attitudes are enough to earn their salary?I have never gone into any jewelry store where the sales people went tripping over each other rushing to ask if they can help you, to make a sale.this was my first and last trip to Jared's and I will tell everyone I know including several other brides to be not to go to Jared's unless they feel like being ignored.Jared's the galleria of rudeness.
Rip off
I purchased a 1 ct diamond ring for my girlfriend at the time.. I spent 4 thousand dollars on it.. Sadly me and her split up and I went to a dozen different places to sell the ring and most I got offered was 400 for the ring.. Saying the diamond has so many faults and the quality was horrible that it shouldn't have even been sold.. I called jared and they refused to help me.. One of the jeweler a even said they used to work for Jared and said they are known for ripping people off.. I experienced a loss of 3500 dollars .. I will never shop there again and make sure others don't either ..

Poor customer service.
I purchased a necklace online & had been by the Jared's by the Village several times awaiting for its arrival. Unfortunately, during that time I misplaced my license. When I went pick up my purchase I had my passport which clearly had my photograph & address. The Jared's let me make a purchase the day before with my passport & social security number but now would not give me my online purchase. They would not let me return the necklace & have it sent to my home. They were the least accommodating. Sadly, at this time I was dealing with illness in the family which comes with stress. Now these people were giving me added stress. I will never return to that store. I was specifically told to go to the DMV for my purchase at Jared Jewelry. What if I was aged or disabled & could not obtain a license. No regard by management at that store or customer service. They took my $ & I had to jump through hoops to get my product.
Refund
I blogged last week about a refund that was supposed to be mailed and wasn't. They informed me that my refund was put back on my card Monday of last week. Well that's not the case as a man I just spoke with informed me that it was done yesterday. Jared has had my money and original ring I traded for over three weeks now. I am beyond pissed and WILL NEVER shop there again.

Customer service credit plans
My wife and I had purchased wedding bands at Jared. We were told if we put twenty percent down the balance would be interest free if it was paid of in twelve months. I received my first statement and realized I was being charged interest. This was eventually corrected. Later I made a large lump sum payment bringing my balance to less than $200. I still had 8 payments remaining, but my minimum payment was $70. This meant I had to pay the card off in seven not twelve months. When I called credit card service department they told me my payment had always been $70 and would continue to be until the card was paid off. This was a lie since my payments have been $50, $70, $90, and $140 on the last four statements. All I wanted was my payments to reflect the account being paid off in twelve months. They actually told me I shouldn't have paid a large amount at one time and one representative offered to send me money back. This shows how absurdly their credit department operates. It is really pathetic that Jared is willing to lose a customer that is paid ahead and violate their a agreement of a twelve month payoff period.

My wife and I purchased our wedding rings at Jared's. They were having a promotion at the store, where it would be interest free for 12 months. They told us how much the rings were and how much our payments would be under the interest free plan. When we did the math were would be paying almost 400.00 more during the 12 months interest free plan.We asked the sales person about that and she said that they charge interest throughout the 12 months but if we paid each payment on time that we would get a check back for the amount we over paid I thought that was strange because it was interest free, but we did the sale.Well 12 months has past and we were never late with a payment so I contacted Jared's and they said that there was a misunderstanding
and they left by saying they would send me a copy of my payments that I made
Dishonest
I stopped in Jared to check what they had for engagement rings and loose diamonds.I have already done quite a bit of due diligence about diamonds and have spent time at 2 other jewelers, the salesman paid no attention to what I asked for in diamond quality, instead asked me to go into the office where he tried to impress me with the 4 c's and so on, when I told him what i was looking for in the 4 c's he took me out to the display case a proceeded to show me less quality diamonds that were over priced and then told me if I put 20% down so he knew I was serious and he would get other diamonds in that matched my criteria It was like dealing with a used car salesman who paid no attention to what i wanted, definitely didn't didn't have my best intentions in mind and simply was trying to make a sale..When i was leaving he actually started to push watches on me...Take my advice and go to a family owned jeweler as one of your choices and stay away from the franchisees, somebody has to pay for the T.V advertisements. Small shops are more personable and you'll probably even get to know the owner. You never have to put money down if you want a diamond they don't have in inventory nor do you have to purchase if they do get it for you to look at..

Shoddy Jewlery
I bought my wife a gold tri-colored bracelet for Christmas she wore it 3 or 4 times when the chain broke she took it back to be repaired. We went down to pick it up that's when I found out I had to pay an additional $29.99 to have it fixed I said wait a minute you don't guarantee you product for 30 days they told me there were no guarantees of workmanship after I paid for the bracelet I found out they repaired it wrong they said if I left it for a week they would fix what they had done I told them I would take it to a competent jeweler who knew what they were doing I haven't had it repaired yet and my wife still can't wear her Christmas present yet thanks a lot Jared I cut up the I cut up the Jared card and cancelled my account. They won't get another penny of my money, every other store I have shopped at always had a 30 guarantee of workmanship.
Lied too
First They are VERY PUSHY when you walk in the door. We where there just to look and get an overall design my future wife wanted, she was with me. I explained what we wanted and what we wanted to spend. But first wanted to make sure we could get approved for interest free plan. Was advised we can for “18 months interest free plan” Long story short I left with the ring spending about 2 grand over what I wanted to spend. Wife had no idea I had the ring yet. Started making payments on the ring before I noticed it was gaining interest, I had to call and fight to get the 18 month interest free. By this time I had already given her the ring. When they decided to tell me the “18 month interest free plan” really not interest free for 18 months. You have to read the fine print on the back. It’s really 12 months interest free and 6 months at 9.9%. I wanted to take it back SO BAD. I was so MAD, and at this point I wasn’t going to take the ring off her finger. They had sucked me in and lied to me. Yes I should have read the fine print. But why list it as “18 months interest free”. The wording a lie and no one would help me. Just I’m sorry it wasn’t explained to you at the store. So I fought the issue again at the 12 month mark again. To the same results, I had to pay the remaining balance. I was not going to pay more for the ring with interest being added. Jared’s is a GARBAGE company from the top to the bottom and I would never allow friends or family to shop there. Go somewhere where the customer first and the sell 2nd. I feel it’s a special moment and should be treated that way by this company. Customers are only thinking about the special moment not what Jared’s can be pulling over their eyes. They have my 8 grand now so they could careless about what lies or how I feel about the company so this is the best way to get my word out
Damaged Watch
Recently took my Movado watch for a battery change. They charged me $25 to ship it to their repair center. Then estimated another $82.50 for the battery! Their repair dept suggested several repairs needed done to the watch, however, I sent it in pristine condition, as it was hardly worn. I knew they were being dishonest about the repairs they claimed needed done, so I asked them to send it back and I would send it directly to Movado, who estimated less than $50 to change battery and overhaul the watch, if needed. When I picked up my Movado from Jared's, it was damaged. The back was scratched and there was a small gouge in the gold on the face of the watch. They refused to take responsibility. I spoke to a rep from their corporate office, who in turn stated the watch was damaged when they received it originally. However, this was not true, as it was inspected by their sales clerk before being shipped to their repair center. They refused to compensate me or admit that they damaged my watch and tried to gouge me out of $107.50. Needless to say, I returned a new watch I purchased prior to this...I won't give them any business...neither should you! Also, my wife purchased a watch at Jared's and a week later, it quit working. Their solution was to send it to their repair center and she should expect at least 4-6 weeks to get it back. she exchanged the watch for another one, but is contemplating returning it for a refund, as well, because of their shoddy business practices. Don't be fooled by the fancy building, gleaming showcases, and overall uppity attitude of the employees. Their stuff is junk !

Horrible jewelry and poor customer service
I purchased several items from Jared in May of 2011, one being a white gold and diamond semimout to which I added a stone to the center of the ring. Only after having the ring for less than a week the white gold on the semimount began to turn yellow gold. I returned to the store and to re dipped it then about a month or two after than the bottom of the ring...

Horrible customer service. Took my ring to have a repair which was passed down from a family member. The prong needed to be fixed. Two weeks later the diamond on the side became loose. Took the ring back to have them repair the same prong, go to pick up my ring and they told me it needed to be shipped out to be repaired. Which this would take 2-3 months. They told me during the repair of the prong they cracked my center sapphire stone. The store sent the ring to a vendor without my permission nor having a appraisal. I asked to have my stone back since this was passed down from generations they said it was against store policy. I asked for the distract managers number they told me they werent allowed to give that out. The way they treated me was completely unnaceptable. I was in tears... this ring means alot to me. Its not like this ring can be replaced since its a family heirloom. Do not buy from jareds this is a warning more then anything!

Return Policy
We purchased a ring from Jared on August 29, 2011 at the Orlando, FL International Drive location. It has been a complete nightmare. The sales person, Jenny, did not listen to me when I told her the size I needed. She has the ring sized as a 5 when I told her I needed something smaller. We went back to the store to pick it up a few hours later. The ring was too big. It came off my finger too easily. She told me to wear it a few days then bring it back to get it re-sized if it was still uncomfortable. I really didn’t want to do that. But I did anyway. Moreover, I was initially happy I found a ring I liked. Well the ring felt more and more un-secure. I went to another Jared location. They were down a few jewelers and could not get the ring back to me timely.
Unfortunately, I went back to the I-Drive location and dropped the ring off on Wednesday Sept 14th. After 8pm I went back to pick up the ring on September 14th. The ring seemed bigger or not sized down at all. I was not happy. Tiffany, the store manager, said how sorry she was. They noticed that they jeweler was using a measuring mechanism that was off-set. She promised to have the ring ready for me the next morning. I go and pick up the ring on Thursday, September 15. The ring was so small I could barely get it on. I asked if I could return it if I needed to. Tiffany said definitely as long as I am within the 30 day window. That night I had to use Vaseline to get it off. I was so frustrated.
I took the ring back to the store on Friday for a return. The sales associate refused to give me my money back because the ring was paid for in cash. Supposedly they don’t keep cash in the store for security reasons. I found that laughable. Jared has hundreds of thousands of dollars of jewelry, a vault and a security guard at the door and they are AFRIAD to have cash! WOW. They said it would be two week s before I could get my money back. That seemed crazy to me because there was no mentioned of that when the purchase was made. There was nothing on the receipt that stated that this was the policy. The general manager, Tim, explained that they are still using old receipts and the old receipts do not have this information. He tried to be helpful, but at this point I just wanted my money back so I could go to another jeweler and purchase a ring. I was upset because I didn’t trust that I would get my money back. Jared has not been able to deliver on anything promised. I have a $200 warranty on a ring that Jared has no skilled employees at the I-Drive location to size appropriately. I cannot even prove that this actually the policy. The corporate office should allow the local stores to print their own checks. Moreover, if the check must be cut at the corporate office it should be sent by FedEx to the customer for next day delivery. TWO weeks is absurd especially when this policy is not on the receipt! Tim suggested that I call guest service. That was a complete waste of time. I repeated everything to two different people Tonya and Shannon. They were not able to assist with anything. They were reading from a script and were absolutely useless. All they could say it what the receipt should have said. Their response was pitiful.
My husband came by the store and completed the transaction with Tim. I left them in the store. The Jared process took an occasion that should have been monumental and my life and soured it. If all goes well I will never enter a Jared location again.
