some one is using my wife's checking account without her permission for your services
Some one is using my wife's checking account without her permission for your services. How do we stop this from happening?
I would like to get back the $132 that we did not sign up for
In Jan 2022 my husband was having difficulty with his computer. He googled help and something came up offering him Technical Help for $2. so he accepted. He had no idea it was Just Answers, and had not ever gone directly to their Web site. It turns out the Computer Tech spent about 2 minutes with him and told my husband that he could not help him.
And then the VISA bills started coming in for $66. My husband did not know what it was for, and unfortunately ignored it the first month and then came to me the 2nd month not understanding what these charges were for.
I have just spend 2 days trying to get through to Just Answers. I did manage to cancel this, but not with out 2 months of charges of $66 and on principle this is not right. This company I believe makes their money doing this kind of scam thing of not being clear about their charges and not having a good Customer Service Dept. A supervisor was supposed to get back to me, but never did.
Deceptive Business Practices
This company's website offers a "trial membership" for $1 which automatically converts to a monthly subscription if you don't cancel within 3 days. I canceled the same day and the site indicated (via its website) that I had successfully canceled the service. I wish I had screen captured that notification because I never received an e-mail confirmation stating the same. When I got my credit card bill, I noticed that 3 days after I had signed up for the service, they had charged me $60. I called support and was told that the $1 was just a fee to sign up for the service and the reason I was charged was because I had asked a question for which an expert responded. After corresponding via 2 email messages with the expert (legal matter) I was satisfied with the response which was essentially just a confirmation that I should hire an attorney. The expert didn't resolve my issue but that's not my complaint. The support person I spoke with was polite, friendly, and apologetic and told me that by her records, my account had been canceled, but that the charge on my card was not made in error from their standpoint. The support person asked me whether I had received a cancellation email and I said no. She then attempted to manually send me a confirmation which I have not received. I told this person I did not have a problem paying the $60 because the expert I spoke with was helpful. But I also said that I felt their business practices were deceptive because they make it appear that you get full access to the site for $1 for 3 days and that as long as you cancel it within that time period, there's no rebill. I do not recollect any fine print that said once you ask a question, you're on the hook for the $60. JustAnswer offers a legitimate service, but uses a bait-and-switch process to charge people unwittingly.
Desired outcome: I want to have some form of written confirmation that my account was canceled. I want JustAnswer to clearly indicate on their website sign-up page that this is not a $1 trial for 3 days.
Just answer " membership"
I had a technical question about a web site last week. Just Answer popped up. I called and the guy said that it would cost me $1.00 for some help. If my issue was resolved my $1.00 would be credited to my account. My issue was not resolved, and this week I received a notice that $46 had been charged to me for my Just Answer membership. No membership was mentioned last week. I am a retired person living on a fixed income. Forty six dollars is a lot of money to me. I was deceived and would like to have my money returned. This "company" is preying on vulnerable people like me. Don't get involved with this group!
Desired outcome: Have my $46 refunded
Same happened to me but I am disputing it with my credit card.
Vet advice 16/03/22
I phoned the Rangiora NZ after hours vet at 4am because my dog had injested some poison. They linked me into Just Answer. I paid $8 as advised but waited over 4 hours for advice by which time my own vet was open and I was able to get my pup admitted.
Not only that, I seem to be charged further $45 on 28/03/22 despite no further questions asked. I want to be removed from any Just Answer subcriptions immediately . I also wish to be refunded the $53 already paid as I have not received any helpful assistance at all.
Please email me at jill.[protected]@xtra.co.nz to discuss refunds.
Thank you
Jill Meade
Desired outcome: Refund as above and immediate termination of any Just Answer subscription
Unauthorized credit card charges
Had one trial question on the 6th January $5.15, did not take out a subscription and now we have been charged each month since.
16th January $41.20
16th February $41.20
16th March $41.20
These were all taken out of our credit card account and I have tried to email them to get a refund but to no avail.
Desired outcome: Please refund $123.60. I would appreciate a refund on money that was taken out of our credit card without permission. I have attached 4 x photos of the credit card with the dates. What more can I add. The photos have the dates and amounts
Fraud
Been charged 2 times for services I never used and called someone to cancel
Desired outcome: Full Refund
Legal reference /help
I signed up for this service for the free trial And was charged before my trial was even up they will not issue a refund even though I've not used their service at all , they promise several things and said that my case would be reviewed By many and I would get answers from several attorneys I didn't hear back from anyone, except for the one I did hear from which wasn't even viewed from their website. They claim that you will have several responses I didn't have any responses they completely ripped me off they charged my account for the full membership and will not issue a refund. They did not provide me with any type of service that was helpful at all And we're very uncourteous and very unhelpful as far as trying to get my money (46$) back ,after they took it early before the trial was even up
Desired outcome: I want a refund , they didnt provide me any service and charged me the $46 early they didn't even wait until the trial was up . All I want is my money back for services they didn't even provide me
JustAnswer
I connected with justanswer to ask a question about my electronic piano. I was told they would charge $2 CAD for the question. I was charged $68--$2 for the question and $66 for a monthly fee that I was not told about and which was buried in the very fine print of a very long terms and conditions.
Dishonest and not transparent.
I had to wait 20 minutes to be connected to a so-called expert, with various customer service agents coming on to tell me to hang on. The expert, when he finally came, told me where online I could find a manual for my piano, as if I don't know how to use Google. I already have a manual, and it does not answer the question I had. So he left the conversation without saying another word and I waited for another expert. After a long wait, I got a customer service rep on the line and told her I wanted my account cancelled and to get a total refund. It took many such requests, but they finally agreed. Even then, they would not confirm how much of the money I had paid would be refunded. It looks like I got a full refund.
In all, dishonest, not transparent, and as far as getting an answer...useless.
Desired outcome: Tell people not to do business with these people.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Yup I had an issue with Microsoft and thought I'd entered costumer chat and got these thieves instead. Same BS: You're a senior they'll charge you a dollar when I tell them that fact. Of course, while they did charge the dollar they also charged me for an ongoing monthly of $46 starting immediately. I still have the thread where the "expert" stared to chat and I asked him directly if he was associate with Microsoft and he stated no and then wanted to keep going. I told him wasn't telling me something that I didn't already know re my issue. I have the thread saved and have disputed it with my credit card company which is not official until the charge is completely posted. I am saving the link to this site and using it to prove my dispute. Total scam scum.

Unauthorized credit card charges
I went on just answer to get questions answered by a Nissan specialist. The matter was resolved and I canceled my subscription. Now they continue trying to charge my credit card. This needs to stop. I see from other complaints that this has been going on for a while. Why hasn't something been done about this company! When someone cancels, that should be it. They need to stop trying to charge me.
Desired outcome: I want them to stop trying to charge me and accept my cancelation.

Charging credit card
I've been charged for $40 monthly from September to March. I remember asking about a question regarding my washer. I entered my info and credit card because the charged that states there is $2.00 only. I did not expect that it will be charged for the succeeding months. And once you entered your info, that means you are already a subscriber. Never thought of it. I called the company and said, I cannot refund the money that was taken from previous months. The only thing | can help for you is to cancel the membership. Cancellation took place but I am not satisfied unless giving back my money because I never used their services.
Desired outcome: Need a full refund pls and I appreciate a response.
I have the same issue. Were you able to resolve this?
Paid for $28.00 for a membership I didn't know I was getting.
While googling for a different website, I inadvertently clicked on the first result, which was Justanswer. I asked a question and the response came back (via text assistance) that I needed to pay a dollar to have question answered. While I thought that was strange, I gave them credit card information to take the dollar that they asked for. Later when I checked with my bank, I found that they had set me up on a automatic membership and charged me $28.00. Tried to cancel and get a refund, but I could not get the refund. I was told that I had asked a question so that automatically put me into membership status. The question I asked had nothing to do with their site so they couldn't have answered the question regardless, but they still would not refund my money.
Desired outcome: Refund $28.00.
Describes what happened to me, too
Paid money and received no service
20/03/2022 Paid initial $2, then a further $66 which I believed would connect me to a lawyer to discuss my case further after giving a brief description of what my problem was. The lawyer was to phone me back within 10 minutes. I did not receive any phone call and when I checked my account the next day another $84.38 was taken out without a lawyer making contact. Not sure what the $84.38 was for.
21/03/2022 Went back to website and let them know I had already had money taken out and no lawyer contact. The person just put me back to the site to pay another $2 and start all over again. I did not proceed.
Now out of pocket $152.36 with no service provided
Desired outcome: Would like a full refund of $152.36 and an apology.

Date 16th March 2022, time 1:12 PM Australian Eastern Standard time. A charge of Au$68 was made on my bank account for services I did not knowingly authorise, at first a charge of Us?$2 which I acted upon but when another charge came up I closed the conversation and should not have been charged? I have since found out that an ongoing monthly charge of Au$66 is applied, I have successfully canceled "Membership" but they are not going to refund the charge that I claim has been fraudulently obtained. No receipt or any email or Member number has yet been received.
Desired outcome: I would prefer a refund Thank you
Automatic Monthly payments after I cancelled.
Just Answer stated that there would be a further monthly charge of $42 until I cancelled this service. As I did not want this extra service I cancelled on the spot. For three months I have been billed $42. I was not successful in stopping this charge until I cancelled it through PayPal. Just Answer said that if I did not receive a confirmation email from them, I had not been successful in cancelling the service. I think this is a scam !
Desired outcome: Refund of over payment for a service I did not want.

On February 17th the company listed above charged my bank debt $46. I found their phone number and talk with one of their representatives about the charge, and they claimed I open an account with them. They said anI get charged a fee every month as long as I have an open account with them. I don't know how they got my debit card number, but that is another case. I was unsuccessful in getting them to refund my bank account the $46, but they said that was not refundable. I didn't want to argue with the person, so said okay just make sure this doesn't happen again, and this account is totally closed. The person again to make that would happen. Well, this month it happened again. I was charged another $46. I explained what happened last month, and the account would be canceled. I said this must be another mistake. The person said their was no record of me canceling, and this charge is non-refundable. I cant get this fraud to stop, and cant get them to refund my money. I want this to stop, and them to refund my bank account.
Desired outcome: I what them to stop charging my debt card, and refund the money they have all ready gotten from me.
