An Amazon.com chatbot automatically redirected me to JustAnswer yesterday, without mentioning a $55 membership fee that rolls over each month. I only found out this morning when JustAnswer sent me an email.
I’ve cancelled the membership, but they refuse to return the fee.
I didn't ask or want to be redirected to Just Answer because I knew they couldn't solve my problem, which was an issue with 2-step verification. There was no mention of a $55 membership fee, nor the fact it rolled over monthly.
While I'm at it, a few years ago I used their service and paid the fee, but was unaware the fee rolled over monthly. I was in Australia waiting for my father to die, and was there for 10 months. It wasn't until I returned to London that I spotted a charge on my bank statement, and realised I'd been paying this fee for the best part of a year for a service I wasn't using. I pointed this out to them, but of course they wouldn't budge. So a service I paid $55 for ended up costing me over $500. I'd like that money back too, please. I can provide you with the details if you need them.
This company is guilty of sharp practise, charging unauthorised fees, and charging fees for services they haven't provided. They need to be censured, fined and forced to pay restitution.
Claimed loss: $55 + $550
Desired outcome: Full refund on both accounts

What about the recurring charges I knew nothing about when I first used your service, when I happily paid $55 but ended up paying over $500 for a service I didn't know I was paying for, and wasn't using. I think that should be repaid as well.
