washing machine
It is the most worthless piece of equipment We've ever bought in our 20 years of marriage. It doesn't use enough water to lift the dirt from the fabric to wash it off. And we have to have a little loads So all the water spins off. . Our clothes come out stained and dirty every single load. Even my dress clothes. This machine is a disgrace!
Babe come out cleaner if I took him down to the river and beat him on a rock
And your website is a disgrace because it changed my last sentence all-around .
“They would come out cleaner if I took them down to the river and beat them on a rock.”

kenmore elite refrig
We purchased a new Kenmore elite refrigerator along with the matching dishwasher, oven, cooktop, garbage disposal, and microwave along with the microwave trim kit. Well to start off the trim kit that is suppose to fit the microwave doesn't fit, we were told it is the one that goes with the microwave, so my husband engineered it to fit. Then fast forward right at a year and a half the ice maker starts jamming, I dismissed it to maybe the door being left open and it freezing and re freezing. Well turns out that was the start of a malfunction or failure with the sealed unit the compressor. I contact sears for repair thinking that this shouldn't be happening and was told that its not covered its out of warranty. I contacted a service tech he comes out and told us because it is a sealed unit it is covered under a 5-10 year warranty. Mind you our refrig is not working and we are with out one. I reschedule a sears tech to come out he said in fact it is covered and the part will be covered but the labor is not. the labor is $400. This doesn't seem to be fair for a company who knows there is a problem and then not cover the entire cost. This is an issue that Sears/Kenmore/LG should address as for me and my house we will not be doing any more business with any of these companies along with telling about my bad experience with them to everyone I know. BAD...BAD... BAD... BAD... Customer Service... Sears was once a reputable company and house hold name... Now just pure disappointment...Shame on Sears/Kenmore/LG
kenmore elite french door/bottom freezer
I bought this Fridge just a moth or so, 5 yrs ago. I luckily bought a 5 yr extended warranty from a company that covered the first and second problem that came a few months before the 5 yr deadline. Both problems were the freezing compartment, freezing up. The first time was repaired by replacing one of the thermistors . After I seen the repair during the second repair, it was a patch work. Splicing in the new thermistor into the line. This worked for about a month and a half and the same problem occurred again. After researching this problem, I learned this was a common problem with both Kenmore and the LG equivalent which is the maker of the Kenmore. A lot of the Bottom freezers were freezing up, some customers were a little better off and they seen the problem starting or a code on the screen of the door for a Freezer Fan . It was setting this because the frost was compromising the fan and sometimes stopping it. The second time it happened, the repair man came and said he thought replacing the backing cover to the freezing compartment was his thought and it came with both the thermistors in the compartment and another fan that had a heating strip on it. It seems that both times the thermistors were showing the difference between the compartment and the thermistors were off by anywhere from 10-20 degrees and not turning the defrost strip on to clear the frost. Then within a couple months it went out again, This time I gave up and bought a new fridge from another company. Even though my warranty was out, I would have repaired the fridge had I thought it would work to keep from buying another . The worst thing is that no repair shop in my area would work on the Kenmore or LG appliances, mostly because of the time to get parts. Both repairs on ours took a week or two to just get the parts. When having a fridge in your house, waiting a week or two just to get parts to fix a fridge is really impractical. Not sure too many people have two refrigerators in case one fails, they have the other to take up the slack. It looks like Sears has known about this problem for awhile. When you have a product that is not fulfilling its purpose, you'd think someone would either stop selling it or find another company to make it. They are seemingly continuing to sell a product that is over the average break down rate and with the same problem. Then the fact that they have to send a repairman to your house, diagnose the problem and then order the part, that can take a week or more and make another appointment to come back and install the part. At least a couple of appliance repair shops around me said that was their biggest problem with the repair of Kenmore and LG products and why they had no desire to have them in their shop for repair. I called every shop I could find in within a 50 mile radius and 2 cities and all were the same. This is something the company should have addressed a few years back.
er-if (error ice fan) refrigerator model 795.74025.410 serial# 411kr00034
So we purchased this refrigerator when we moved into our new home in 2015, shortly after the warranty was expired the water and ice quit working. We called a repair maintenance person and they indicate that it would be approx. 1, 000 dollar to fix this! Something about not just the ice fan but a possible motherboard issue. We decided there was no way we were paying that much on a fridge we just purchased! In the meantime during a defrost period we did where the fridge was off it reset itself and worked for several months. However it is now back and not working with the same error, defrost has not fixed the error this time.
It seems that there should be a cheaper way to fix this? Honestly as I read blogs on this particular refrigerator it seems this is a prevalent issue? Seems like there could have been a recall or at minimum cover the cost to repair it.
Is there anything someone can do to help us? I hope you understand the reluctance to throw another 1, 000 dollars into a refrigerator that is barely 3 years old?
Thanks for you consideration on this complaint
kenmore over range microwave
Kenmore microwave [protected] Serial 845MM00818. The light which is designed to shine over stove wasn't working. I bought a replacement 35w Halogen from Lowes. While trying to plug in light it dropped onto range top and shattered. The glass on the lite is so thin and cheaply made. The price was around $10.00 a rip off for a tiny light. Then onto amazon where I purchased addition lights at a cost of $9.00. These didn't work either. All care was taken to unplug microwave. The time and aggravation it took to try to get into such a tight spot to try to put lights in was ridiculous not to mention wasted gas to get to the store! I would like a refund check sent to me for these out of pocket expense for a microwave that is certainly NOT USER FRIENDLY when it comes to replacing lights.
I look forward to my refund.
Thank you,

kenmore warm & ready electric stove model# 790.[protected]
Finding drip pans that fit this stove top is not as easy as most would think. I went to Sears where it was purchased and the cost is near $200. for a set of four, half the cost of a new stove! Most stores have a set for around $25. If tried aftermarket pans but they don't fit the burners properly. I think it's absurd to purchase a new stove because new drip pans are too expensive. I will definitely look at all the brands and compare cost of drip pans.
kenmore vacuum cleaner model number 116.35922
I purchased this vacuum cleaner probably in 2010. You say, well that's out of warranty", and yes it is. But here's my complaint; That vacuum cleaner has been one of the best I've ever used. I paid what I thought was a lot of money for a vacuum cleaner at the time, and has been well worth it. The other day, I was vacuuming, when the handle broke right where the control panel is. and not the whole handle. The thinner part in the back is still in tact. Parts fell out of the control panel, so it is completely unusable. This machine has not been misused. I live in a ranch style house with carpet only in the living room and bedroom. No carrying it up stairs, nothing that could be construed as abuse. I would like for you to know, that had the motor gone out, I would not be writing this complaint. It would have had a good run, and now it is over. But this handle thing really burns me up. I have what would be a perfectly good vacuum cleaner, but because the control panel is broke out, it is a dead dog. I have whirlpool refrigerator, washer and dryer. I have Craftsmen lawn mowers (yes, 3), a power washer and lord only knows how many tools my husband has. So you see, I am loyal to the brand, but this handle thing just has gotten the best of me. My name is [removed] . phone [removed]. email; [protected]@yahoo.com
Our Sears account is under [name removed] or [name removed]. Thanks for listening

kenmore elite refrigerator
Refrigerator was purchased at Sears in Spring, 2015, in Ocala, FL. I moved it to Fort Myers, FL in Sept. that year, into a condo.in January, 2017, I moved it to a single family home. Late Nov. of 2017, ice cream was starting to get less hard, and by early Dec. I called Sears as I thought the freezer was having a problem keeping cool. Slowly the ice cubes started melting... then the french door area warmed up. Servicemen came out Dec. 8th and said the compressor was bad, most common problem with these units, and parts will be ordered as they do not keep them on their truck. Parts will come to my home and they will be back Jan 3, 2018. Food destroyed. After days of hauling ice from grocery, I borrowed a small dorm room frig from a relative. Parts came during Christmas, and serviceman came Jan 3. He installed and soldered parts in and put coolant into compressor. Well, on Jan 17 I bought 4 faux half gal. of ice cream and other groceries, and the next day, the ice cream wasn't as hard as the day purchased, so I thought it was the brand I got. Then it got worse the day after. I called Sears again on Jan 26 when I knew it was the DAMN Kenmore refrig. again, and they couldn't send a serviceman out until Feb 12. I emailed LG, the people that really build these units, and they suggested to contact Kenmore directly. Not sure how much good that will do. I had to go and borrowed the mini frig again, but my milk was hot, ice cream made soup all over the bottom of the freezer and engulfed the TV dinners and stuck them to the bottom of the drawer. Much fun cleaning that up! More meat was hot. At least I took the Ice cube make out before going to a golf tournament or I would have had water all over the floor like last time. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PEOPLE MAKING THESE PRODUCTS? It costs us consumers money to replace food and at 74 years old, I am taking chances keeping some items that I hate to throw out... I hope I do not get food poisoning. Please respond.
top loading high efficiency low-water washer.
I purchased this Kenmore washer on Jan 31st, 2017. Right away I wasn't impressed with the results but I figured it was the newer energy efficient, low water feature that possibly compromises the cleaning performance and that I would get used to the change just like I did when we switched out all of our water faucets to aerated ones to lesson the water used in the shower, etc.
Anyway, a couple of months went by, I'm still dissatisfied with most loads and was also getting complaints from all of my family members, comments like " look at this! It's still dirty. Your new washer sucks. I had defended the washer from day one only because I spent almost a thousand bucks so I really wanted it to work. Finally on March 31st, two months from my purchase date, I went back to Sears where I purchased it and informed them I was very dissatisfied with the washer and wanted to return it. They told me they would have to send out a repairman because the plan states if it can't be repaired it will be replaced, guaranteed! So, I played the game, had a repairman come out for 5 minutes and write a report as to how there was no defect, it functions as it should and no repair needed. So if no repair is needed then no replacement is necessary. I then called Kenmore direct and went back and forth with customer service for over an hour. This went on and on and neither Sears or Kenmore would allow me to return the washer because there was nothing wrong with it. No one would agree that a guarantee of workmanship doesn't just mean that fact that it operates but that it operates to your satisfaction. I work full time so I finally tired of the fight and figured I would just have to deal with my new crappy washer. Over the next several months there were many items I would have to wash by hand after putting them through a wash cycle. And I have gone to the laundromat many times with sports uniforms because it doesn't have the ability to clean dirty knees and socks, not even close. Well tonight I was folding my husbands coach shirts, once again the load didn't feel very clean, like it was still dirty when dried so I took one particularly dirty one to the kitchen sink to give it a bit of a scrub and I was thoroughly disgusted at how dirty the water got from a shirt that just got washed! Not close to clean! I feel like I was dooped for almost $1000 on a washer that if I could have seen the results prior to purchase, I would have never bought it. After a year, I don't feel any better about the performance of this washer, it simply is not cleaning my clothes like it is guaranteed to do. I want to return it. Can you help me?
Lastly, I attached my receipt, protection plan and a video of how dirty the shirt was immediately after going through the wash cycle.
I have always had Kenmore appliances and this is the first time I haven't been happy. If I could even get a credit toward the purchase of a new washing machine.
Thank-You,
Tamela Seedborg
Hi Tamela.
Appreciated reading about your concerns.
One issue, at this point, is that we're addressing this well into the 2018 year. Unfortunately the manufacturer's time frame has passed. Sears does supply the customer with a satisfaction guarantee however, as with most retailers, Sears doesn't take back an item after it has been used for so many months after purchase. As with any purchase, it is expected that the consumer does what research is required prior to the purchase, ensuring satisfaction once the product is in their home.
The good news is your problem is likely resolved by adjusting the way you actually use the unit. High efficient (H.E.) washers have the ability to wash considerably larger loads of laundry. Many consumers make the mistake of relating the amount of detergent they are using in accordance to the amount of laundry. THIS IS A MISTAKE. The detergent should only be that of H.E. labeled and REDUCED to 1/3 of a cup, AT MOST, for an entire load of laundry. THIS IS BASED UPON THE AMOUNT OF WATER BEING USED, NOT THE AMOUNT OF LAUNDRY BEING CLEANED. Using too much detergent creates the exact problem you are describing and, ultimately, can damage the machine because of additional residue being left on the gaskets. This will eventually erode and damage the bearings. This also means that, if you do want to return to a system somewhat like the older design, you could easily sell this new unit and still feel very good that someone is getting a newer unit at a reasonably good value. You do want to be aware, however, that ALL washers currently being sold new are required to be H.E. compliant. There are a select few that are cross-over designs which offer modes to allow the washer to simulate the older standards. This is likely what you are after. I would consider one of the fine products from Speed Queen. They're not cheap, but they're good. You'll likely spend as much on one of these as you have the H.E. model you're currently using.
Thankfully, I hope you understand and will now enjoy your purchase.
stove/oven
On 1/26/18, we turned on the oven. Within 10 minutes, we heard a buzzing sound. Immediately, fire and black smoke came out from the back of the stove (top).
We were fortunate to contain the fire because we were in the kitchen and have an extinguisher next to the stove. It looks like the control board malfunction. This should have never happened. The stove is a fire hazard and it should be removed from the market or alert families and the consumer of the risk. If we were not in the kitchen or had a fire extinguisher near, the story would have been different. We have three young children. This was a scary situation that we experienced.
Ours did the same thing within 30 days.
Hi Angel. What year was this exact unit produced?
microwave
I bought a microwave from sears 2015, kenmore elite model 790.[protected] serial number KG43660620. Also bought refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer, all kenmore. My complaint is before this I had a cheap microwave I bought for 50$ from Walmart that lasted 12 years. I bought this one for over 500$ and it stopped working 2 years and of course they say it's out of warranty. I feel like when someone spends as much as we did on your brand that day, total of over 5000.00 that the least they could do is fix a microwave that we only got 2 years use out of! There is no way this should only last that long, feel you should stand behind quality of your product and make this right.
I read your complaint with great interest and would like to be of help.
Warranty coverage is generally not something typically set arbitrarily. It's provided as part of the cost in creating the appliance. Is it possible to purchase an item rather cheap and have it last a longer period of time? Absolutely. However the more expensive a product is, the more likely that any consumer expects it to last longer. The issue is that any brand or model will have a certain percentage that will break earlier than expected. In order to protect yourself, many retailers offer forms of extended warranty plans.
Is it at all possible you purchased extended warranty coverage at the time you bought the microwave? If you're unsure, you could reference your original receipt(s) or even contact the Sears location you purchased them through.
kenmore elite refrigerator model 795-7313
Absolutely appalled at the lack of support for this product and atrocious customer service!
On 7/5/2015 I bought a Kenmore Elite refrigerator for $2048 at my local Sears. This was to be the main fridge in my home as I have never had a second and, as long as this one works, I should never need a second. On October 17 2017, this fridge and freezer stopped working and all of my food spoiled. I called the [censor] at 1800-4-my-home and was given the absolute runaround. Finally I was able to make an appointment (10 days later) for it to be repaired. Through this process, I had to demand that all of the parts were still under warranty but that the labor would be paid for. All of these details are clearly spelled out in my original paperwork but they would have charged me for both ($1400) if I didn't know better.
A day or so later these [censor] cancelled my appointment and moved it back an additional week. At this point, my family is living out of a cooler and had no choice but to buy an additional refrigerator just to get buy until it could be fixed.
The repairman finally shows up, looks at it for 10 minutes and says it will be 3 weeks for the parts to arrive. I'm appalled. On November 3, 2017 the fridge was supposedly repaired for labor only ($300). In January 2018, the damn thing stopped working again, got absolutely the same runaround from Sears and was actually told that there was no record of my original repairs. Had an independent repairman look at it this time ($56 just to look). He told me that the repairs would be $1400 and that it needed the EXACT same repairs that Sears did 2 months earlier.
I'm furious with Sears and will NEVER again buy anything from your crap appliance lineup! I'm out the original $2048 I paid for this thing, $300 for "repairs", $355 for the supplemental fridge I had to buy and $56 dollars for a repairman that actually knows what he is doing. I wasted $2759 on this damn thing!
The treatment I received from you and your awful (offshore )customer service is appalling! I am not a rich man and cannot just spend money like this. I demand a refund, an explanation, and an apology!
elite ice maker
I have a free standing Kenmore Elite ice-maker covered by the warranty agreement. I was scheduled for service today from 8-noon to install the second part ordered to repair the appliance...a main board was installed 10 days ago, but that did not fix the appliance, a second part was ordered and service scheduled for today. The appointment was confirmed last night and I stayed home from work to be here for the appointment...the technician did not show. I started making calls at 12:30 with the promise 4 different times that a supervisor would call me. NO CALLS were received. I just called again and was told I had been scheduled for service next Tuesday, but if they had a cancellation they would TRY to come sooner.
This is totally unacceptable, I paid for a warranty service and I have been with out my appliance since befor Thanksgiving...it is not January 18.
kenmore elite dishwasher model 12773
I purchased a Kenmore Elite dishwasher as part of a package in 2014. In March of 2017 the tub developed a leak around a weld. I new tub was ordered and installed. I was charged $89 for the service call even though I was assured by the technician that there would be no charge. The dishwasher worked well until approximately December when the machine began leaking again, at an even greater rate. The Sears repair service said I would need to again pay a minimum of $89 for a service call to diagnose the problem. I sent a letter to Customer Service three weeks ago and have not received any acknowledgment. I feel that my dishwasher should not leak two times after only a few years. Additionally it seems unfair that I am charges $89 every 9 moths for the same issue. At the very least, Kenmore should send a technician without another charge to me.
kenmore elite model 795.72053.118
We've owned our Kenmore Elite for a few years and have had fairly good luck, but now it is stinking up our whole house. The smell is coming from the back, where the fan exhausts it out the vent. There seems to be many people with these same refrigerators with no way good way to fix them. I think there should be a recall on these, to repair or replace them! This is a defect in engineering or manufacturing, or both! Please let me know what can be done to get this problem resolved!
upright freezer
I purchased a Kenmore Upright Freezer Model 253.[protected] from Sears on April 15, 2016. In October 2017, just over 18 months of use, the freezer stopped freezing. I just happened to open the door and found all my food defrosted and dripping everywhere. After replacing several parts, it was determined as the compressor. To my surprise, Sears said the compressor only had a one-year limited warranty. To replace the compressor would cost me more than $400 (four hundred dollars).
My desired resolution is a full refund of $669.58.
Hi Janice. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
A one year limited warranty is extremely common now on most products. Because there are those consumers that don't concern themselves with warranty coverage until it's too late, manufactures have found its one of the easiest costs to cut.
For those unwilling to accept such a risk, most retailers offer extended warranty programs. If one determines to invest in such an extended warranty program, one needs to make sure the program is priced reasonably and has a good backing. Generally I wouldn't suggest third party programs but would insist on one backed by the manufacturer or retailer.
If assume you've checked with Sears to see if there happen to be such an extended warranty purchased with the freezer.
When replacing the freezer, pay for the additional coverage. You'll find its worthwhile as the compressors are all considerably smaller than those of yesteryear and don't have anywhere near the longevity.
fridge repair
We bought our fridge 2.5 years ago and it so far 4 times it stopped working. Last week it happened again I called the customer service. They scheduled an appointment 1 week from the day I called, I requested earlier appt because of the health issues (medicine has to stay in the fridge) supervisor hanged up the phone on me. I waited one week, no one showed up and I called again, lady said my appt was never scheduled. Now there is no appt available until December 4th which is 2 weeks from today. We lost 4 months of medication so far, plus next week is thanksgiving and we are hosting dinner in our house, also I have a child. Imagine a life with these conditions and no fridge! Kenmore sucks!
Hi Asya.
I'm sorry to hear of the problems you're dealing with.
I wish I could provide more exact details. It was likely that customer service did not schedule you for an appointment at all, after you stated that the appointment a week out was unacceptable.
Instead off focusing on the miscommunication, maybe we can find a solution.
First let's consider what is likely to happen on December 4th. Normally a completed service will take two service visits. The first to diagnose the issue. Unless only generic parts are required, any proprietary parts are ordered and then a second service visit is scheduled. Just keep in mind that the fridge may not likely be repaired on December 4th.
Whereas this fridge is nearly three years old, is it covered by any form of warranty? If not, you may just want to replace it now. Even if it is under warranty, you may want to consider the purchase a secondary "garage" fridge for your essentials.
As a side note, make sure your making enough room for the fridge's compressor to breath. Suffocating a compressor is the number one reason for a fridge's premature death.
Please let us know if everything doesn't go smoothly.
washer and dryer
Our wash machine is 5 or 6 years old and dryer about 4. They both have stopped working... The dryer about 2 months ago, bought a heating element from Sears, put it in still doesn't heat up... Washer just stopped spinning, doesn't wash or spin out. Just fills up and drains... We bought Kenmore because we wanted the best, well this is NOT the best! They should last A Lot longer than this! The washer did have a service on it right after we bought it for the same thing! Through Sears... All of out applications are Kenmore, cooking stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer and had a microwave ( that only lasted about a year). Very dissatisfied with these products (washer and dryer)! My husband and I are talking about going back to ABC Warehouse, at least the junk you buy there doesn't cost as much! Requesting refund or replacements! Please contact me by phone [protected] or by email [protected]@gmail.com. Please stand behind your products and make us believers of Kenmore again, as we once we're... Thank you, Deanne & Robert Cochran
kenmore elite refrigerator
Bought a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator from Sears as well as all my other appliances that we bought when we built our house a little over two months ago. We've had to repair the dryer, the dishwasher, and now the refrigerator is broke. It will not stay on. We have replaced the fan and the control board per the Sears Technician that came to the house. It still does not work! Very frustrating not to have a working refrigerator and very inconvenient. Called Sears today and they can't send another Technician out until July 27th. Not very happy at all and will not buy Kenmore brand again and will not recommend this brand to any of my friends or family. After only two years and the amount of money we spent on our refrigerator, we should not be having these issues.
