Bad mattress
My husband and I purchased a Kingsdwon Penticle mattress and box springs March 20, 2010. There is a 10 year warranty on this product. After sleeping on the mattress for about a year and 3 months there is very visable indention were we both sleep with a hump in the middle. This is a king size mattress. We went back to Mattress Giant and told them about it and they said nothing could be done. So I sent an email to Mattress Giant Headquarters and the people at our local Mattress Giant called and gave me the number of Kingsdown. I called them and they sent me a Warranty Review Form to complete. We completed this form, took the pictures they required and sent it back. We received a letter that the measurments had to be 1 1/2 inches indention before they would replace the mattress. You can certainly see that the mattress has indentions on both sides even when it is completely made up with bedspread. We paid $1916.03 for this product and feel this is certainly unfair. The mattress we had before this was 20 years old and did not have this problem. But Mattress Giant says you should replace your mattress before it gets that old. So we did. We should receive a new mattress and box springs. What a rip off.
Defective "sleep to live" mattress
I purchased a Kingsdown "sleep to live" mattress in July 2011. I specifically asked the sales rep at the Haverford, PA store if "there were any major issues reported with the "sleep to live" mattress that I should know about, " since I had never heard of the brand before. His reply was that "this is one of our top brands and customer favorites." In order to get the bed warranty, I was required to purchase the "sleep to live" box springs in the amount of $765.32 along with the $2, 000 bed.
After sleeping on this bed for just a few months, my husband and I have developed serious back problems that have required medical attention. The sleep to live beds are defective. The sleep to live bed is one of the greatest scams to have hit the mattress industry. The bed looks impressive, thanks to its impressive height, but there is nothing inside the mattress to support or evenly distribute the weight of the human body. Try flipping it over--the opposite side looks and feels like lightweight cardboard. Precisely why there is a sticker on the opposite side that states this is not a sleep surface. Well, that sticker should be placed on both sides of the mattress. This mattress is not a sleep surface! It sags so much that there is virtually no support for our lower backs, it is impossible to sleep in an ergonomically correct position. Kingsdown refuses to disclose what exactly is in their mattress, and now I know why. It is not a coincidence that thousands of people had the same exact, peculiar and horrifying experience with their defective Kingsdown Sleep to Live mattress.
I have never in my life experienced a bed like this. Every night, my husband sleeps on the couch because the bed causes so much pain, and I have to leave my husband and my six-month old son to sleep at my parents' house. I actually have to leave my family at night so I can sleep on my 15-year old childhood bed--which, may I add, is still so comfortable because it was a great quality mattress purchased at Bloomingdales.
The sleep to live bed has caused us so much pain and it has torn our family apart at night. Any positive reviews of the "sleep to live" mattress were likely written by the manufacturer, impersonating itself as a buyer. The company only plans to refund me the price of the mattress if and only if the mattress fails their inspection. Here is the kicker: the inspector who comes out to check the bed does not actually examine what happens to the bed when a person is laying on it. How can someone examine the integrity of a bed if they do not examine what happens to the bed when an actual person is laying on it? Is it possible to determine cause of death without doing an autopsy? No. Is it possible to predict the integrity of a mattress without laying down on it? Of course not!
Shame on you Sleepys for taking advantage of us. Sleepys has a responsibility and obligation to refund me for the entire purchase including the box springs, regardless of inspection, since not only was I forced to buy the box springs in order to get the warranty but I am now in serious pain as a result of the defective bed. There is an army of people in the United States who have posted on the Web this same exact situation with their defective Kingsdown "sleep to live" mattress sold at Sleepys.
While I made a good-faith purchase, Sleepys knowingly sold me a Kingsdown product line that has been causing serious pain for its prior customers. Thanks to the Internet I will have no problem rallying up the people who were scammed by Sleepys and fighting for justice.

Mattress warranty
I purchased a Kingsdown mattress thinking because it was a bit high end, it would last me longer and be more comortable. Ater 3 years I find the springs are protruding out thru the sides. A representor from Cohens came and looked at it and inormed me this can indeed be a potential for danger! I went back to cohens and explanned that I had warranty but they refused to replace with another mattress of equal quality. Because I got it while it was on sale, now they tell me I can only pick from the price range I paid. I thought warranty meant a guarentee of a replacement of equal or better quality. That's the only way I have known warranty to work.
If there is anyone out there who can help me with this situation or tell me what I can do to get this replaced then please, by all means, contact me!

Lousy mattresses (3 so far)
I'm on the 3rd kingsdown — lousy to say the least. Now sleepys doesn't even acknowledge my complaint it's like sleeping on a speed bump. I haven't used it in 4 weeks - waiting for "customer service — ha." to call and have their inspector come back.
And I paid $3000.00!
I said "I just want a refund".. She actually laughed and said "no way"
My next step is top bring it to the store and shred it in the store.

Terrible mattress
I bought a Super King, Kingsdown, Sleep to live Mattress from Bensons for Beds in 2007, I am now on my fourth Mattress! My problem is, My first mattress was huge, I was not present when it was delivered, I was in hospital So I never got to sleep in it till a week later. When I got home I could not get up on the bed, my partner had to get me a step because it was that high, now that the mattress has been replaced it has dropped a good 4 inches in height. I laso bought a headboard costing £500.00 to match the first mattress height. now im on the fourth, none of these mattresses are the same size, colour or lasted more than 4 weeks without sagging. now I am being told my original bed has been discontinued and a new model has been designed, so my argument is that my old base is not compatable with the new model mattresses and not the same size; i.e width wise. I have written to customer services about this and they have stated that I would yet again be getting a new mattress and a new matress only. This is very frustrating because I am now having to sleep in my daughters bottom bunk for comfort as I suffer too much pain and discomfort and sleep deprivsm.

Warranty claim
We recently requested a warranty kit from Kingsdown. We followed the instructions and took the pictures of the mattress and box springs.
I received a letter today that Kingsdown denied our claim. We bought the bed because of the 20 year warrant.
First I will tell you that we will never ever recommend or buy another one of Kingsdown beds.
Let me tell you why.
Kingsdown stated in the second paragraph that,
"As the manufacturer, we are concerned with the design and performance of the bed. Your warranty protects you from any manufacturing or structural defects"
Over the past month, my wife and I have woken up tired and with aching backs. That tells me something is truly wrong with the bed.
How is it possible that both of us wake up every morning this way? The bed is sagging. We can feel it when we lay in bed. We rotate it like Kingsdown suggested, we have the kingsdown box spring set and bought a new bed frame.
So my thoughts on their statement and their actions truly do tell me that Kingsdown does not care about our comfort. Kingsdown also stated that "comfort is not a warranted item simply because comfort is a mater of individual preference."
Kingsdown does not care that your customers, meaning my wife and I are not comfortable sleeping on their poorly manufactured bed. Kingsdown is not worried about our comfort? Seriously? Kingsdown is in the business of making people comfortable.
Sure the bed was comfortable for about a year. But now, I wouldn't call it comfortable, I would call it painful.
In their closing paragraph "We as a manufacturer do support our product and are concerned that the product does maintain it's integrity and performance for the time the manufacturing warranty states. Based on all the information provided to us, your bedding is performing the way it was designed to."
"The way it was designed to!?"
So after a year or two, the bed is actually causing us to lose sleep and put our backs in pain causing us to sleep on the guest bed instead of ours.
The Kingsdown bed was designed to work great for a year or two max and after that it performs horribly.
Horrible Bed. Painful Bed. Sleeping on another bed.

omg...your letter about kingsdown mimics our experience to a T...I am so frustrated! We have only owned the bed for 3 years and I wake up aching every morning :(
Is there anywhere we can take our complaints to? ... Anywhere they will take us serious about the lies we have had pumped into us about how good the product is when we are being deceived along with many others who are daily being drawn into a false advertisment! Totally frustrates me to the core!
Mattress is not as advertised!!!
In March 2009 my wife and I took delivery of a 5/0 Sleep to Live 700 series mattress by Kingsdown, (Mebane NC). After attempting to become use to sleep on the mattress for 9 months, I was waking up in such pain I contacted the company about the mattress being to firm.It was literally cutting off my blood flow to various parts of my body! After much...

Major sag
This Mattress does not hold its form...has an extreme sag in the middle that causes a lot of back pain. Company acts like they have never heard this before, and have a very bad warranty replacement policy...even though they say lifetime warranty.

Does anyone know how to get past the customer service reps and to someone who is higher in SLeepy's? I've been suffering with a slipped disk from the Kingsdown mattress for too long and all they do is send out an inspector and tell me the mattress hasn't sagged enough and tell me to wait longer...WHAT A JOKE! Does anyone know anyone I can contact? MELISSA IS JUST A FAKE NAME FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND YOU ARE BACK TO THE BEGINNING.

Defective mattress
We purchased a Kingsdown Sleep to Live mattress from Sleepy's in early July 2009. The first mattress had a very clear sag in the center of the mattress to the point that we sank way way down into the mattress and felt that we were lying far below the level of our feet. Sleepy's was good in that they replaced the mattress immediately at no charge and the second mattress seemed better for about two weeks. Now, it too, is developing the same sag as the first one. My husband and I are slender, no more than 150 pound between the two of us, so we can only conclude that this mattress design is defective. Before we purchased the mattress, we had extensive conversations with Sleepy's personnel about Kingsdown's past problems and the way they had been rectified in this new design. I suppose we were stupid to have believed them; we really liked the feel of the mattress and allowed that to blind ourselves to what should have been obvious.

Sagging bad
We bought this mattres thinking we would never have to buy another. I had always herd you get what you pay for. So being seniors went spent more than we ever had to buy a Kingsdown matterss. Close the top of the line.We loved it the first few years, then came the sagging. Not just a little dip but it felt like you were in a hole. the middle stayed up the way in should be, but my side dipped some my husbands side sunk down deeply. I read the warrenty it said it did'nt cover body impression. So I didn't think contacting the co. would do any good. We went to Mattress GIant in Burleson to look at other mattress, since we had started sleeping in our other bedroom on a cheap mattress. The manger listen to our story and told us he was sure the co. would stand behind their product and replace the mattress. So I hope this is true. Thank You

This bed is horrible
Do NOT buy a kingsdown mattress from Sleepy's. After sleeping on it for one night, you'll know why. I awoke feeling like i'd been hit by a car. I did one comfort exchange, and the next bed was even worse. Now I'm stuck with a bed I can't sleep on. KIngsdown should recall their Sleep to Live series - it's the worst bed y ou could possibly buy. Customer service won't even talk to you, other than offer you a discounted mattress. I'm already up to $3, 500, how much do they expect me to SPEND? They should be offering full refunds and the entire line should be recalled.

Quality
I also spent $3, 400. for a Kingsdown Mattress at the suggestion of my chiropractor. What a disappointment. It starteed to break down and you could hear the springs pop after a year, I fought with them until they sent me a new mattress set and it seems to be fine now. Maybe it was a defective one. Let's see how this one holds up. It is comfortable.

Sagging mattress
Beware of the warranty issues on the mattress. After 2 years and 10 months of having the bed we would rather sleep on the floor then in our bed. It sagges in the middle and very uncomfortable to sleep on. We contacted them and did a warranty claim and they told us the bed must sag more then 1 1/2 before they will do anything. In there letter they say "We do not warranty comfort" That is why people buy these beds and it does not hold up. I would recommend that you stay away from these beds.

Ripped off
We purchased a Natural mattress 1 1/2 yrs. ago from Sleepy's. Tried it for a couple weeks, and hated it. Too soft. This was one of their top mattresses at the time besides the Tempurpedic which we didn't like. We were told that we could exchange it but it had to be of greater value than the one we returned. That left only Tempurpedic and one of the Kingsdown mattresses. So after paying almost 3, 000 to start with we ended up paying close to $4, 000 for a horrible uncomfortable Kingsdown mattress. It has caved in in spots, and does not align with our bodies properly. Someone came out with their little measuring device and said it was OK. We tried to speak with the company over the phone from our stores location and ended up sitting there for 2 hours and receiving no help! So we are stuck with a back aching mattress of almost $4000. I hate that company and I hope they go out of business ASAP! They are the mafia of mattresses! You'll be sorry you ever got involved with them!

AGREED, Kingsdown rips people off and they do not fulfill their warranties!
Failure
Mattress system was excellent at first, but within 3 months sagging started. No help from the manufacturer. Contacted retailer, and they sent an independent mattress inspector out. He took some measurements with his magic stick and some pics with his laptop cam. 2 weeks later manufacturer called and said not enough sagging, and mattress was not set on the proper frame. We put it on our sleigh bed, that has wood slats, and a center support post. If there was a problem with our frame, why didn't the installers tell us? What I call sagging, they call surface conforming. But, wait, they recommend rotating the mattress, so, then my feet area end up under my wife's head...where's the conformity there? So, now, like others, we have a very expensive backache.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We had a similar problem - but we used out mattress and box spring directly on the floor and had the same problem - so I doubt using different slats would be of much help in the long run.
No problem.. Wake up
There is no such thing as a perfect product but one of the best on the market is Kingsdown. I notice people keep saying they call Kingsdown. Weather you buy a bed sofa or tv you don't call the manufacturer, you call the retailer. In the last 6 years Kingsdown has sold 700, ooo sets of bedding(to NYC retailers) and I see a very small handfull of complaints. Most are happy with there products(about 99.85 %) I have 6 beds in my house and 5 are Kingsdowns. they are all fine and used every night. I have worked in retail for 22 years. Keep your bed clean and don't damage it and your warrenty is always accepted. pay attention when buying and realize you have about 30 days to exchange. Spend more than 5 minutes picking your mattress, it may be a good idea to spend at least a half hour selecting a product you use 1/3 of your life that you will have for up to 25% of your life...If you look for complaints your probably find some for every product known to man. look at consumer reports, rob report, consumer digest...these publications suggest they are best buys..I wonder why?!
We have king size Kingsdown Indulgence for 4-5 years. It is soft. It is good bad for my wife which sleeps on her side. For me is not good at all...I am sleeping on my stomach. Two years ago I put medium size pillow between box and the mattress on my side and thinner one on my wife's side to help with the sagging. My back hurts really bad and I am thinking about cutting the mattress on the side and putting 3' x 4' piece of plywood under the memory foam. I am still researching the idea...
Our Kingsdown bed is useless after 2 years it sagged so badly that it caused back problems and had to be replaced.
Recently, my husband's elderly aunt died and he inherited her beautiful complete bedroom set, which happens to be a Kingsdown Indulgence mattress and box spring. Well, having the inquiring mind I have, I decided to check your web site to see what we were getting ourselves into. It was unfortunate because almost all the reviews were negative regarding owning one of these mattresses. Not being deterred by them, I decided not to tell my husband about what I've read and try the bed anyway ! Well, lo and behold, the bed IS BEAUTIFUL BLESSING. You see, both my husband and I suffer with terrible pains in our bodies, back and knee pain and we previously owned a gel foam mattress, which really did us in so we were desperate for relief. Thanks to Kingsdown Mattress, we are sleeping on a cloud.
Your warranty is a joke. My Kingsdown Indulgence bed that I spent almost $3, 000 on is painful to say the least. It sags and we have the proper box spring and bed frame. We even rotate as instructed. Its less than 2 years old and its a horrible, painful bed. We filled out the warranty kit and followed instructions exactly but my claim was denied because sagging has to be 1.5" or more! WHAT? That is ridiculous. When I lay down in the bed, I feel that my rear is sagging and I'm in a small hole. I wake up with a tired, sore lower back. The bed offers no support and I only weigh 153 lbs! I will never ever buy another one of your beds and I hope people read this post and do not buy a Kingsdown bed. Its a complete waste of money.
I can't believe your mattresses are all great. Ours is horrible.
Faulty goods
In brief, I purchased a bed on my Coop credit card on 15th August 2007. On the 17th August 2007 I reported the bed as being faulty. The matress dipped in the middle and there was a tear in the base of the bed. Pictures were obtained. All I was told was to "try the bed for the 40 day trial". I had just moved into a new home, and the bed was dismantled and had to be kept in the living room and the bedroom, along with another bed that I bought because the Bensons one was so uncomfortable. I paid a removal van firm to return the bed to Bensons, but when I got there I was told (eventually) over the phone by the manager that I would never get my money back. According to Bensons terms and conditions, a refund can be given on goods found to be faulty if reported "in a reasonable amount of time". Bensons were uncooperative and I was told I could not leave the bed there as it was my property and if I did leave it, it would be thrown outside. I approached the Coop credit card co. They would not refund my money. Eventually I could not cope with the bed in two rooms so I informed both firms that the bed had been put into storage I was told by the Coop that I had to prove that the bed had been returned. This I did, and in doing so, the Coop then debited my credit card for goods I no longer had. I threatened Bensons with court action and eventually I did get a refund. I wish to complain about Bensons and the Coop's attitude, as it took 12 months for a refund which should have been given at the start of my complaint. I would like to know how the Coop could debit my credit card when I hadnt got the goods, and that they were supposed to "help" me. Needless to say, I will never have dealings with above said firms again, as it has made me feel quite ill. I approached Trading Standards and Watchdog, but no-one seemed to want to get involved. Could you please advise?
Terrible experience!
Bought this top of the line, $3, 000, mattress from Kingsdown and after 4 weeks started sagging in the middle. Called to complain, they send a kit that measures sagging with out load and they said the mattress is performing as designed with up to 2 inches sagging being normal after the 1st month. Called again and someone came to the house, it was a subcontractor called Mattress Marshals, and he said the materials are shifting. Again the factory sent a letter stating the mattress is performing as designed. Noe I have a 20 year useless warranty, back pain, unable to sleep in that mattress. Before that I had an excellent mattress, with springs, and was perfect, until I got married and wife wanted a kings size mattress. I wished I went to the normal cheaper ones. This company is a scam and rip off with this warranty.
