I purchased on line Garden Furniture to the value of 2531,88 euros. Order placed on the 10 July 2023
In my confirmation, it was advised my delivery would be by 04 August 2023.
The company called me 31 July to inform me they do not have all the items, and would re schedule delivery for the 24 August 2023, and they would phone me on the 23 August to arrange delivery. I waited till 15;00hrs on the afternoon of 23 August and no call, so I chased them. I was told they still do not have my order. So I decided to cancel, and asked for an immediate refund, as I needed to buy and choose other furniture. I went into my local New store on the Island of Madeira Portugal. I spoke with a Manager there who contacted the largest store in Portugal, and requested that they refund me immediately as I have been given two dates for delivery, and the company has not fulfilled its contract. They said they would do the refund immediately, but usually you have to wait for 14 working days after requesting a refund. Well this is not actually a refund, as I have never received the goods in the first place. I have since been into my local store in Madeira and spent a further 2000 euros. I have spoken on a number of occasions to Leroy Merlin Portugal to be told the refund has been made. I have even asked for proof of the refund, of which I have not had a reply. I have sent a number of emails requesting my Money, but they do not reply. And when I talk to them on the phone, they say the refund has been made. I have contacted my bank, and they have informed me to ask for proof of refund, but I have asked, and still not received proof or refund, and it is now the 08 September 2023. The company has now had my money in there account for two months. I can not believe such a company can do this to its customers. Customers delayed payments can result in a fine. What about companies deliberately holding on to our money. This incident has resulted in me having financial difficulties, as I spent another 2000Euros in store, as I was assured the money had been refunded. I am appalled by this company’s customer service.
Desired outcome: I want an immediate refund, and I expect to be compensated for the length of time they have held my money. And a reason why the staff are informed to lie to customers on the phone. Why no replies to emails.
