Lowe's Horrific Flooring Job...Salisbury NC
My Dad & I hired Lowes of Salisbury to install flooring in a duplex. We were verbally assured Lowes would do both sides by the flooring guy at Lowes before the contract was signed. The cheap vinyl quote/contract was $6,323.52 for 1300 sq. ft. Again, we were reassured by Phillip, flooring specialist,
that the contract we were signing was for both sides.
Currently, they are saying the quote was for one side. However, on the one side they have "tried" to install & repair is an absolute failure. The one side was started October 2 & still hasn't been finished. Transition strips are not in, there are bubbles everywhere, and places where the vinyl was cut too short.
I have been working with Kimberly Tremain from Lowes Quality Assurance Dept., kimberly.[protected]@servicesprosig.com, and the store "managers" in Salisbury. Kim said I have to let Lowes come out and repair. So, I scheduled an appointment for Nov. 30. The installers showed up and said they didn't have the materials for the strips & didn't repair the bubbles, or the flooring where it was cut short. I was assured by the installers that they would be here today. However, I received a text message this morning stating they are waiting for materials.
I paid over $6000 for vinyl flooring & $1487 to have the old vinyl flooring removed. The installers did not remove the old vinyl. I told them before they began & they ignored me by stating it is not on the order & continued installing. I was refunded the $1487 by Lowes after numerous store visits.
No one will help me. At this point, I want a refund of my over 6k returned. I am going to have to hire another company to remove their mess and start over again.
This is a HUGE liability because this is a duplex, and I can't let a renter move in with these conditions. It has cost me $3,600 for lack of rent since Oct. 2 so far. I was in the duplex myself and tripped over the uneven strip areas & hurt my toe. If this happens to a renter, I would be liable and sued possibly.
Can you help me? If not, please give me any advice you have. Hopeless...
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely...
