I ordered a storm door. Measurements were taken, and I went to the store to follow up. The sales rep told me the door would have to be ordered as a special size. I paid $794, and I was told there would be a 5 week waiting period. We waited. I had to initiate the call to find out if the door had come in. It had. The installers finally contacted me 2 days later to give me an install date 2 and a half weeks from that date. The installers came, installed the door. However, there was a piece of the door missing that was supposed to go on the very bottom of the door. There was about 1/2 inch space between the door and the thresh hold, missing. My son was here for install, and was told the part had to be ordered. Why did a part have to be ordered when the door was ordered more than 5 weeks ago? I have called the install customer service line two times a day for three days. The part has apparently come in, but the customer service line told me they have to give the installers at least 24 hours notice. There is also a loos screw in one of the springs on the top of the Larsen door. Poor workmanship.
I opened the big entry way door that leads to the storm door this morning. There was a small lizard that came in through the bottom of the "new" storm door, along with a few insects.
This experience has been a nightmare. I work full time and I don't have the time to be on hold for many minutes with the install department.
This is the last time I will depend on Lowes Home Improvement for anything that has to be delivered or installed.
Tomorrow is Friday. I've been trying to get this worked out since Tuesday. Unacceptable since they have had payment in full for several weeks.
Desired outcome: get my door fixed!!!!!! tomorrow
