This cashier went above and beyond and was patient and helpful. It reminds me of what I taught my children-BE kind because you never know what battles they're are fighting. I lost someone close to me yesterday and I was outta sorts today to say it nicely..He reminded me that good people still exist. PLEASE give this boy a shout out and tell him that he was recognized! When you have employees like this, it's important to show them that they are valued , so they stay with the company!

Markets Kitchen Manchester NH
I took my break at 330, today September 12, 2023, went to market basket on elm Street in Manchester NH for a sub. I got to the kitchen there were 4 people in front of me. I waited 25 minutes and left before my number was even called. The only two employees working were working the grill. Both waiting for the grilled food to be done and chatting with other customers about there families etc. Neither asking customers if they wanted subs or other food. I was on break and couldn't wait as I had to return to work. I am now back at work hungry and pissed because all of my time was wasted waiting to order food that I was never able to order.

Bagging
I go to the South Attleboro store and have often had my groceries bagged and as soon as I get to my car, I realize the bagger has put a cantaloupe on a box of cereal, bread stuck in the corner while the cantaloupe rolled into it. A small amount of training would suffice, can you do that? I do like these stores more than Shaws and Stop & Shop so I drive the extra.

I was at Market Basket on Bridge St Lowell, MA on April 17th at about 4:45PM. I was buying my groceries and the cashier and bagger were talking to talking to each other in an another language. (not English). They never acknowledged me. There was a couple behind me and I heard them say to each other. Are they talking about us? They are so rude. I am never going back to shop at that store again.

I bought MB brand hot dog rolls today and didn't notice until I got home that the package is now 6 rolls instead of 8. Can you tell me what prompted this change seeing that hotdogs are sold in 8 packs. Is this to make more money because now a person needs to buy two 6 packs for 8 hot dogs. it's not enough that food has been marked up so much over the last year or so. I guess the alternative would be to buy any of the other brands because when i went back to MB every other brand on the shelves were 8 packs or 16 packs. What used to be 16 packs for the MB brand is 12 packs. i know I'm only one person but word of mouth travels fast.

Hot foods department
I was in your south Attleboro store in the hot foods department and it was about 7:30 I grabbed a ticket and was number 11 they were on number 7 I waited in line for over and hour which I get it was busy they were cleaning and trying to close. However one on your employees was cleaning the grill and fryolater with a purple head cover on first Nono after waiting for over a hour to order the young man with the Durgag on his head stopped what he was doing to talk to someone who had walked up to the counter I heard this young man say I’ll pay u to make my steak he had just walked in from out side myself and the other customers were in line for over a hour and your employee stopped cleaning and started his steak sandwich second Nono he was cleaning I continued to tell his friend who asked him to make his sandwich he needed to wait like the rest of us then I called for a manager as the manager came over he started to say that myself said some thing about him being black and the other customer said something about him passing drugs over the counter. She never said that what she said was he handed his something over the counter and he did the young man passed him a number ticket that he found on the floor and your employee grabbed it and dropped as if this young man was next in-line. All I wanted was him to do is wait his turn and your market basket employee took it upon himself to stop cleaning and disregard the rest of the customers to make a sandwich for this person who was there for a few minutes and he stopped cleaning to do it. A argument insued and he continued to say I was being racist. I myself am biracial and I take racism very serious I asked your MOD to look at the cameras and he will see everything that happened including your employee standing bye the pizza department showing this customer his phone I am extremely disgusted at this unacceptable behavior caused bye your employee as I do not believe that is how you want to be represented as your employee was dishonest and disregarded the customers standing inline for over a hour to serve a friend who just walked into the store your employee was not even waiting on customers he was cleaning. The whole point of grabbing a number is to wait your turn as to not have these problems that was not the problem the problem was a employee helping his buddy out to get a steak sandwich asap. Even though other hard working people were inline waiting there turn for over a hour. I was in #79 last night around 5pm-ish. I noticed the same thing happens each and every time and I forget to let you guys know.
Why does the cashier NOT say the total amount? Just say the amount!
Also, I have worked as a cashier at Star Market in the '80s and I know it's not the most exciting job. But last night the young cashier Dayana G made it seem like it was the last place she wanted to be. I'm not picking on her because she's young. I only wanted her to pay attention. She was speaking (Spanish?) to her bagger and I was trying to get her attention, so I just talked over her. She couldn't have been less interested.
When I load my groceries on the belt, I always line them up close to the cashier so he or she doesn't have to reach and bend so often. I also don't pile them on top of each other. I'm being considerate. I hope the cashier would be, too. I know the job is hard, and no 2 cashiers are alike, but I thought MB would have a higher standard. I'm also aware of employee shortages. But for those you have? Take a bit longer to train them.

An associate who steals and threatens
over the past 2 weeks there has been an associate of market basket frequently being seen stealing while on break and having shouting matches on his cell phone. last most recent he threatened to kill a girl. the associate is named branden k.
my family has been going to the plymouth location for years. we do not want to relocate shopping days and locations but we will if necessary.
the associate has made my children very uncomfortable and has even been seen making sexual gestures at me.
Desired outcome: we will no longer be going to this store and neither will our friends, family, or church if this individual is not removed from the meat counter. god bless

9/4/22 approx 9:15 AM. I purchased two packages of steak that totaled approx $30. When I opened one of the packages, I thought the steaks had an odor. The next day I attempted to return the uncooked steak. A man with a tattooed sleeve (I did not get his name so this comment is for identification purposes) from the meat department came down and ripped open both packages including the unopened one right in front me with his nose barley 2 inches away from the steaks. He said there was nothing wrong with the steaks and said I would NOT get a refund and he tried to give me back the steaks he just sniffed. I who was wearing a medical mask let him know what he did was gross and unsanitary after he breathed and spit from talking all over my steaks! Realizing he erred he offered me a replacement, instead of letting me pick out my own steaks he told he would made up two packages. After over an uncomfortable 10-minute wait he returned with uneven steaks, in particular two weighing much less than the other two. (See attached pics below.) He was rude and condescending to me (a 59-year-old woman) and now I am too afraid to cook/eat those steaks. I am unsure if he carried out proper meat handling procedures due to his agitation over the situation of me calling him out for his unsanitary practice of sniffing the steaks. I will never ever purchase meat again from the Bourne Market Basket and only if I am desperate due to Cape Cod traffic will I go in to purchase a limited number of items there. I plan to go to Stop & Shop down the road for all my grocery needs.

i got suspended 3 time .my first one was i was playing with my friends them a customer complained about as playing around.the second time was the week have a medical condition the assistant did not let me go to the bathroom i turned off my light then go the bathroom when I come back the assistant tell me to clock out and go home I did and then the next day i went to the job they tell that I got suspended. my third time was today because I didn't hear this customer ask me something the customer went to have a complaint about me and like a few hours later a cashier went to pay something at my lien a few seconds a customer come to my line the card of the casher didn't go through the customer get mad went to another line. because I am Latina they can suspend me as many times as they want? I just want to work make money please do something about it

Lowest level of customer service
I have recently begun shopping at the Market Basket on Hwy 114 in Middleton, MA. This store has the dubious distinction of providing the lowest level of customer service of any chain grocery store I have encountered in 68 years. On multiple occasions I have asked for the location of items only to be told "I don't know" and watch the employee just walk away. (Hey Market Basket management, the correct response should be "I'm not sure sir/ma'am but I'll find out for you".) I have yet to be either greeted or thanked at the cash register. The typical communication from the checker has been to limited to simply stating the amount due, e.g. $69.91. No " That will be"... or "$68.91 please". Even when I have thanked the checker at the end of the transaction I have not been thanked in return.
Management needs to focus less on requiring their male staff to wear an outdated uniform of white shirt and tie and instead focus on the much more important issue of training their staff to be courteous, responsive and knowledgeable when dealing with customers.
Desired outcome: Greeting and thanking a customer should be the absolute minimum degree of effort from your employees. The level of service is so bad that If management is unwilling or unable to create significant improvement they should be replaced.
Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water
On June 23, 2022, I opened a can of tuna and started to dump it into a bowl when I heard something solid moving around between the tuna and the can. Once I scooped the tuna out of the can, I found this very large piece of glass inside.
Desired outcome: I'm not sure what I should expect in this case. What if I had eaten it? Are there smaller pieces inside? Might I find more in the other can I bought? Can I trust Market Basket tuna in the future?
Manager
Two weeks ago the manager at the Claremont NH store was really rude to my friend, (a large middle age balding man). She asked if she could get access to some canned food which he had a large cart in front of and was standing near. He told her that the cart had wheels and she could have just moved it herself. Now today, he again was moving a large cart at the end of an isle. He paused waiting for me to come out and I smiled and told him that I needed to go in the same direction he was standing, (I couldn't get by him as he was in the center). As he moved forward and to the right around me, he sighed heavily and said I guess I will just try not to hit you then. If he is going to work with the public, he needs to learn to conduct himself in a respectful manner.

The majority of cashiers at Market Basket in Reading do not speak any English and it is very difficult to converse with them. I also noticed they do no thank you.
Desired outcome: Some sort of English training and store training on etiquette

Happy to see the price is still low but the quality of the rolls is the worst on the market. I like to grill my rolls before i put a hot dog in it.
