Installed new dryer in April 2019. Three and a half years later, dryer started to screech when dryer was turned on and drum was rotating. Called Maytag and found out that Maytag only covers the cost of certain items that need to be replaced after one year. Labor and the service call are not covered with the 10 year limited warranty. We called the repair company that Maytag uses. Once the repairman knew that the dryer was screeching, he immediately said the problem was the idler pulley needed to be replaced. I since learned this is a common problem with this model of dryer. Please reimburse me for the cost of the labor and service call, in addition to the idler pulley. I found out Maytag does not reimburse for the idle pulley. If this is a common problem, the item should be recalled. I should not have to pay to replace and install a new idle pulley for $440 after only 3-1/2 years of ownership. Since this is a common repair issue, recall the item and stop charging your customers for Maytag’s defective product.
Desired outcome: Reimburse for repair.
