I purchased this Maytag clothes, washer a few weeks ago from Home Depot as it was recommended by some on line and I have always been a fan of Maytag. Well, never again! The machine did not work from day one, I literally could not get it to start at all.
Foolishly, I did not read that Home Depot would not take back such an appliance if the fault was not reported within the first 48 hours and for the first days, I was online trying to trouble-shoot the problem myself. I did manage to get the machine going twice by unplugging it from the power source, waiting for ten minutes and plugging it back in. But on the third try, it just stopped, full of water, full of clothes. Nothing will budge it.
After many many phone calls, I finally got through to the Maytag warranty line, and someone said they would have a local repair company contact me within the week. That was three weeks ago. I contacted them two more times, and on the third try, was given the name of the local company. I reached out to them and they first informed me that Maytag had given them an incomplete number for the washer, so nothing had been done. They then said that they would call me back in a day or two, once they had contacted a technician, who would order the parts they thought would be needed to do the repair. I was told these parts could take from several days to several weeks to arrive!
I did not hear back from this company either. So I called again today. Apparently, the technician has not yet been contacted!
It has now been almost a month since I have had this dud of a washing machine sitting full of water in my basement. I really can’t believe that neither Home Depot nor Maytag will not take swift action to replace or repair it.
Desired outcome: I want a good, functioning machine. Preferably a new one to replace the new one I just bought that doesn’t work. Failing that, I want it repaired quickly. I’ve sUted almost a month!
