I believe I have a lemon of a washing machine. 6 months into my purchase the machine stopped “sensing” the clothing and then filling up with water. We have replaced the electronics board twice. We have replaced a few other parts. And now the Maytag technicians are asking the local appliance repairman to replace the motor. All in we have had approximately 5 appointments with repairmen taking about an hour or so of my time off work each time so 5 hours. I have spent the same amount of time on the phone with Maytag and Appliance Connection figuring out who can come when, and reiterating the problems with the machine. I have had to purchase a new but cheaper $500 washing machine to actually wash clothes in between repairs. I personally have to unhook and rehook up the machine each time they come because Maytag has a rule that the repairmen can’t be hooking up and removing water to the machines when they come. That’s about $195 for an unhook and rehook up each time so $975 ish for that.
Maytag has replaced 2 boards, a few others components, and now wants to replace the motor (because they don’t know what’s causing the actual problem). They pay for the parts and the repairman to come out each time. Guessing this is somewhere around $1,500. When will it end?
I want a new washing machine under warranty delivered to my house next week August 28-31st so I don’t have to keep dealing with this issue. If Maytag doesn’t want to do that, maybe they should pay to pipe cold/hot water to my garage so I can permanently hook up my 2nd washing machine so I don’t have to move machines around my utility room. This is about $3k.
Hello Maytag? How much more money will you throw at this problem before you just replace our washing machine and save your reputation. I’m ready to start putting comments out on any platform I can. Do the right thing.
