menards protection plan
I purchased a 70 Pint Dehumidifier, item # 6235212, for $169, on 4/16/17. At the time of purchase I was offered the Menards Protection Plan, which I initially decline. I was told I had up to 6 months from date of purchase to purchase the plan. I went into Menards today, 4/27/17 at approximately 11:30 AM, to purchase to Menards Protection Plan. I was told that I had to process the dehumidifier as a return and loss the 11% rebate on the item in order to purchase to Menards Protection Plan. I was told this by two customer service representatives and the on duty manager, Nicole. She stated that the computer would recognize the process of purchasing the Menards Protection Plan as a return of the old item and a purchase of the new item with a warranty which would void the 11% rebate on the original purchase.
The information about losing the 11% rebate, if you didn't purchase the protection plan on the day of purchase or within the 11% rebate period was not mentioned. I did not wish to loss the 11% rebate so I did not purchase the Menards Protection Plan.
I would like to purchase to Menards Protection Plan for my Dehumidifier, but I do not want loss the 11% rebate. The Menards - Racine, 3101 South Oakes Road, Sturtevant, WI 53177, is your store location,
My wife and I have been repeat customers for over 15 years at this location. We feel this is a bad business practice or procedure. Please let us know if you can help.

I was at the Menards in Manitowoc WI at around 11 am. I was in the hardware department and a women was yelling in the next aisle over. I was curious too what was going on so i peaked around the corner to one of your employees screaming at another employee. I was shocked but just kept walking. A little while later i over heard that same employee talking bad about this other employee. Her name was Kim. I am a manager in retail so i know how important customer service is. Screaming at other employees and talking behind their backs is unacceptable behavior . If someone did this in my store there would be a write up involved for sure. It made me uncomfortable shopping in any area she was in. Please fix this problem.
ripoff, lies
I received a sales paper stating that the evergreens I wanted to purchase was going on sale the following day. I called the Menards in Tinley Park, IL if they offered price adjustment on items. The person I spoke to said, "yes, you may purchase them today and just bring in your receipt tomorrow and we will give you a price adjustment." That is what I did, I purchased 8 evergreens on Saturday, they went on sale Sunday, so I went in for the price adjustment. The price adjustment that they gave me was $42 in the form of a STORE CREDIT! If the manager had told me that it was in the form of store credit, I would have waited for Sunday to purchase the evergreens. If this is your policy, then fine, but that should be said when a person calls originally.
What a rip off. I will be saving BIG MONEY AT MENARDS by not spending it there any longer.
lack of service from employees
I was in Menards at 12701 Middlebelt Rd, Livonia, MI 48150 on April 20, 2017 at 8 pm to purchase some pluming parts and white shelving for a project I have at home. I went to get brackets at 99 cents each and they only had 1 left. So I decided to look for an employee to see if there were any high up on the rafters or in back storage. I walked thru a quarter of the store and never did I see 1 employee. I could have robbed the place and no one would have known. You should get the buttons to page a worker like Lowe's does. i finally said "forget it" and I went to check out and the cashier, Toni was very rude. The sign at check-out said to put the cart in one spot and cashier would take the items out. So I did just as the sign said and she taps the very small counter and tells me to put the items up there. I softly said that isn't what the sign says and she didn't say a work. I'm guessing Toni is lazy. Now I will give her credit for telling me about the 11% rebate that I already know about. That is the only reason I went to Menards and not across the street to Home Depot. But as she told me, she was rude about it. I'm sure in here eyes she was being helpful. But one doesn't have to be firm with others to be helpful.
I will look for the shelving brackets elsewhere. I don't care if I pay more for them. I was going to purchase wall tile for my bathroom as well from Menards but again, I will go across the street to Home Depot now.
I was very dissatisfied with my visit there. That store needs more employees or don't let them take their brake all at once. I don't see me ever shopping there or at any other Menards again. You have lost my business and I have a lot to give as I am flipping several houses.

bagged brown mulch
I bought 42 bag of the brown mulch that was on sale a couple weeks ago. I was very happy with the price at 5 bags for $9. I spent my Sunday spreading it and really was impressed with how it turned out. We had 2 days of rain and by the time I got home Tuesday night from work the color was almost gone. I have been trying to work it out with the Baraboo location but haven't gotten any real good answer's on what we can do to fix this problem. I shop at Menard's on average 2 to 3 days a week for odds and ends and have always been happy with the service and people. The manager I have been dealing with is named Matt. He seems to be doing everything he can to get me a small credit or even some bags of a different brand to spruce it up some. This weekend is 3 weeks of calling and sending pica's through emails and such. The higher up people need to get a better policy for complaints that have been proves to be real. If this isn't fixed soon I am thinking about bagging up all the mulch and returning it..
tore manager @ muskegon location
On 4/9/17 I was in your Muskegon location and was looking for the entrance mat that cost $10. I ran into store manager Brian coming down the main aisle. Stopping him and asking him where I could find them was the biggest inconvenience I could have cause him. The look on his face explained it all. He did however walk (extremely fast) over to where they were, and I was glad I asked because I would have never found where they were. I thanked him as I watched him walk away with much haste. At this point I had no Idea he was the store manager until I asked to speak with one regarding an outdoor patio heater that had only the display left to sell. I wanted to ask him if he could get it from another store or if he could order it and before I could finish the answer was no. So confident I might add I was convinced he spent the last 2 hours researching it. Brian is a direct reflection of your store in the Muskegon location and if I had him representing the community I would be completely embarrassed on how he handles his job professionally. I spent $338.31 that day and it would have been more if Brian wasn't such a ###. I hope this is addressed and he receives an attitude adjustment or some professional guidance. 11% price adjustment rebate
I bought a mattress set that was on sale thru Dec. 31, 2016. I bought it on the 14th, the 11% rebate started on the 18th. So I went back to the store to cancel my order and re-order the very same mattress set. The Customer Service lady told me to take this 11% Price Adjustment form and send it in with the original receipt. I sent it in right away. Menard's agree that they got it, but I am not being told after almost 2 full months of emailing and checking on the rebate status that I don't get it because it was on sale. But the sale was for the month of December. The same set was still on sale on the 18th, I know because I went back to the store, expecting to have to do a cancel to my order and reorder the set. On the day of the original purchase, they had to call the store manager over to even ring up the sale because the computer wouldn't allow a sale price. I did exactly what I was told and now $77.00 is lost in my rebates. I should have been a witch and demanded a cancel and forced a new sale, since I still had not been able to pick it up. This mattress didn't even get to me for month after I paid. Please why is this so difficult? I still have the sale thing on a photo on my computer. I have emailed this company many times in the past 2 months trying to get this resolved.

I went to Menards last week in the late evening at the Maplewood 55109 location. Only to witness a female employee with braids selling marijuana out of her Blue Dodge Avenger with Georgia plate. At that time I chose to ignore the situation. As I'm looking at window blinds, I see that the black girl is the manager of this department Nicole Wells. She smelled I'd marijuana, and was very rude and short with me. At that point I went to a different department manager named Nikki in the paint department as I did not have time to wait for GM. Since the incident I came back this week to have my blinds cut, and again Nicole Wells was rude and smelled of marijuana. Anyone I meet will tell them NOT go to Menards as your company is supporting drug usage in the workplace, and doing nothing about it.

Was ready to purchase $1200.00 worth of laminate flooring at the NW Menards in Wichita, KS. When I went to get the delivery setup, the sales rep quoted a price of $59.00. The website states, under ship to home, that a same day delivery service is available from the store. 0-15 miles $20.00. A friend in my area had a delivery it was $20.00. I walked out, Went to Lowes

I was shopping in the Traverse City Menard's store yesterday, Thursday, 3/16/2017 between noon and 12:30 pm. I was in and out of most aisles as I was pricing a project.
As I passed by a portion of the tool dept. I noticed a young lady probably in her early twenties flirting with two male employees. What caught my attention was that she was in a similar situation when I had been in the strore a few weeks earlier.
As I shopped my trip took me to the edge of the mill work dept. where I picked up a small piece of Lexan, it was not priced. As there was no one to ask in the dept., I took it over to the tool dept. desk. Well, there in all her welcoming splendor was the young debutante from earlier entertaining yet another young suitor.
I made my presence known and the suitor merely looked at me. I asked if I could get a price for the Lexan. Obviously perturbed by my interruption, he nodded in a given direction and in a pissed off tone said, " There's a scanner right there."
Now maybe it's your policy to make sure everyone has ample socializing time with the sex of there choice. But the next time some punk does that to me he or she will be in a seizure on the floor.

my front door
I've already sent you pics...done that been ther! If you notice in the pics I've enclosed, the window panel is upside down per one of your associates suggestions! BRILLIANCE! Please note my SARCASM! After my first complaint, I was sent the frame around the window! As you can see from the additional pics, the frame is not, nor has not been the issue! The frame is, and always has been intact! It IS THE WINDOW! It's like a pancake, TIME TO FLIP? LOL. Since you have NEVER stood by your product, we will be replacing ALL our Mastercraft doors...total of 5...and trust me, they won't be yours!

I special ordered a bath vanity on [protected], picked it up on [protected], got it home and unpacked it, the marble top was chipped on the corners and had a crack all the way across it. I took it back and ask for the manager, he was helping me until someone he knew came in and he worked with them before finishing with me. I told him that we had waited two weeks on this vanity and would appreciate if they could improve on the delivery time. Menards does not call or notify of when the orders come in. I bought drywall and the edges are damaged, the persons helping load the material operate the forklifts way too fast and rely on the customer too help load the material. The store is under construction and the help must think that you know right where to go and what their procedures are. Most of the problems are in the pickup annex to the store.
doors/damaging truck
We ordered doors at your Menards store in Glendale Heights, IL and when we went to pick them up (supposedly they were inspected) the doors were damaged. The workers left it up to me to move doors and pick them up - were absolutely no help - (I pulled my back while doing this) the door fell over and damaged my truck and the insurance claims is refusing to cover my truck since they said I moved the doors - aren't the workers responsible for this.
The doors came in again and are once again not inspected and damaged! Noone at the store inspected these doors or assist in loading these into my vehicle.

I bought 4 bails of blown in insulation and rented a machine drove 45 min back home hooked up machine there were no clamps to hold the hose on I got 1/4 of a bail in and the hose blew off filling my room with insulation I took the machine back they refunded the machine back on my card in which i'm still waiting for it to show up on my bank acct. and was told that because I wrote a check I had to wait 6 days it has ben 6 days now they tell me it is 7 days i just spent 4000 dollars there on appliances and if i have this much trouble getting MY MONEY BACK how much will i have getting them fixed i will definitely be shopping at lowes from now on and am debating weather to return fridge and stove and going to lowes for them as well
hurt my son due to menard's negligence
My son was hurt badly when a door that was leaning with another door tripped and hit him on his forehead. He was with me. It was menards negligence. The doors were not secured right and it could have hurt anybody. Unfortunately it was my son, who has to deal with a big scar on his forehead all his life. I went to the store next week after the incident and found that they had secured the area nicely but that's too late. The bad scenario Menard isn't helping with the bills and ambulance costs that came with their neglegience. I called their insurer at [protected]. She said to pay it but never did so far. He was hurt on memorial day at menard, wyoming MI. I started getting letters from collections...too frustrating. Called too many times...Get your son hurt, hear them say that we will take care of it, and never in reality. Not a good customer handling service. holiday time lights
I purchased 5 sets of indoor/outdoor chasing lights in which I lay on my grass for an added effect on my display. All 5 sets quit working after the first rain in which i took back and exchanged them. Sure enough the next rain had the same effect. Because I bought them in October and had the first problem a month later "3 days after putting them out" the next rain was after 30 days so they wouldn't take them back. The lights i used before was from Lowes and lasted me 10 years and 1 of the 5 finally quit working last year so I thought i would get new ones. Similarly 1 of the 3 $70 dollar outdoor trees has already quit as well. That's $120 that I wasted on these products. This is the first complaint I've ever written but my goodness, this is pathetic merchandise to say the least.

I purchased items on Tuesday, which included a case of anti-freeze in which you were only allowed to purchase 6 gallons, which is a case. Upon checking out we used a rebate for $33.00 with or purchase. When we left the store and proceeded home, which is 35 miles away, my wife noticed that we had been charge for two cases of ant-freeze, which is an extra $45.00. Our total after the rebate was still $148.00. We called the store and informed the manager of the problem and he stated to bring the receipt back in and get our refund from the mistake. On Thursday, I went back to the store for a refund, but was not refund the mistake, by the store. Instead I was forced to take the rebate slip for the $33.00 and $12.00 was put back on my card. I should have been given back the entire $45.00, because it was my money and not Menards, but I was forced to take the rebate for $33.00, so I would have to spend My money at Menards. This is not right, because the stores mistake was not my fault and I should be refunded my hard earned money to spend where I choose. This policy is not corredt and I should be given my total refund. I shop at Menards and consider it my favorite store, but my views are changing fast with these policies. I would like to have some type of response ASAP. With no response I will not be shopping at Menards in the future and will steer any of my associates away from you store.
special orders and store personal
My wife and my self came in to special order a counter top for our kitchen Island. Alexandria in the counter department was a absolutely terrific. She was extremely helpful and attended to all of our questions, with knowledgeable responses. We had to go pick out a sink to better determine the cut out in our counter top so Alexandria directed us to kitchen and bath area to pick out a sink. The gentleman in the immediate area was Kurt and he was stocking an end cap. I approached him for some information regarding a sink. He sighed basically rolled his eyes and with a tone said "What can I help you with" He was very short and complained he was tired and exhausted. I looked for another person to help us but there was no one around. He continued to walk away going back to the stocking job he was doing forcing me to go back and get him several times to answer questions we had. I ended up special ordering a sink, but his customer service skills we horrible my wife wanted to leave because of his shortness and sighs, very unprofessional. Kurt told us that we would get an email regarding our sink and when it comes in. So I wait for a week or so and get NO email. I call the store and unfortunately I did not get the girls name who answered when I pressed option for operator. I ask her about my special order and she was equally as short and rude like kurt. Like I was bothering her. They must have had the same customer service trainer. Because I ended the call just agog with her short answers and pauses, silence after a one or two word answers. Just rude and unprofessional. I like Menards but this experience left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding Menards. I understand people have bad day but why do I have the luck to catch 2 of them.
washer/ dryer I purchased
Me and my fiance just moved into our first apartment after being homeless for 6 months. I am 4 months pregnant and cant keep lugging laundry to the laundry mat so we have been searching for a washer and dryer for 3 weeks we finally fecided to stop at menards to look just maybe there would be a cheap one there. We pull to the back and how lucky could we be both a washer and dryer for 20dollars each i was so happy i cried right there my fiance runs to the gate and explains this story to the guys they said yeah dont worry about it go pay for it we will hold it for you. Thank god right? We go to the service counter pay for it again tell them the story and ask them to hold they said yes of course we left to go get my fiances buddies truck come back 30 minutes later and to find out 5 minutes later they sold it to another couple and they left with it. I am ddevistated words can not even explain how heart broken i am. How can you double sell something. I am so upset how can your company do this to people! If you dont fix this make it right i will never buy another thing from menards neither will any of my family or friends or my fiance or his family or friends. And my father owns his own business taylor maintnence home improvements and works two jobs the hampton inn and bradford apartments where he is head of maintenence and has accounts for menards when i told him what happened he said if they dont fix it hes switching his accounts to home depot! We are all very angry.
cashier complaint
I shop at menards frequently and had the worst experience I have ever had with a cashier on 11/12/16 at the Jackson Michigan Store. I had just checked out when one of the staff had found more of the canning jars that I was looking for. I got a few more cases and proceeded back into line to checkout again. The cashier (Christina) insisted that I get the receipt for the first jars in my cart before she would finish our transaction. I explained that I could not remember where I just put it and showed her my messy purse and that I would dump my purse on the counter ahead of me as soon as we was finished because she had so many in line (I waited 15 min to get to cashier and it was another 15 min in line because she did not agree with the price the jars were at for their sale or that I was using a coupon). She continued to be so rude. It was the worst experience. I had to pay for the first jars again to get of her line and take receipt to customer service to be refunded which with all the stress, I showed them the receipt but forgot to get refund.

In November 2020 we paid a little over $4,000.00 for a refrigerator as well as a 3 year extended warranty. Well 2 weeks ago today my refrigerator played out. Not working at all. I have called kitchen aide, Paducah ky Menards, the warranty place & all I’m getting is no where. Everyone I call tells me to call the other places which I have & they tell me to call the other places. So it’s been 2 weeks & I still don’t have a refrigerator. I live out in the country, 3 miles to a neighbor, 40 miles round trip to a store . I have not been able to keep anything cold at my house for 2 weeks, no milk, no eggs, no meat nothing . This is so crazy ! I guess I will just have to find a attorney maybe something will get done
