Mastercraft interior door
We purchased a Mastercraft Door at Menards. Door was purchased 11/25/2017 and within a month, this door is so warped I can not close it. I called Menards in Onalaska where the door was purchased, the employee I spoke to said I had to contact mastercraft for warranty. He quickly rattled off the website in a manner that I was sure he had done this very often. My family is in the construction business and purchase a lot from Menards and never thought they would not stand behind what they sell. I tried to find the website for warranty and could not. Very disappointed. We would like either our money back or a replacement door
Garage delivery
The Bay City manager said Menards won't do anthing to repair my yard after an incompetant semi driver from Ohio drove off the road and into my yard when I said you will get stuck... and he did. There is several thousand dollars of damage. The driver originally was on the driveway but due to incompetence he was not able to properly steer the semi in reverse. The trailer is Menards it had to have been damaged.
Damage to customer vehicle by menards employees
On 12-07-2017, I went to the Port Huron Menards store to pick up a display model patio door which was supposed to be ready as of 12-04-2017. It was not and I was told to come back on 12-09-2017, around 1:00PM and it would be shrink wrapped and ready. So I returned on 12-09-2017, with a trailer to find out that again, it was still not ready. While I was waiting for store staff to take the door out of the display casement and prepare it delivery, I went back out to my truck & trailer to get the straps ready for the door, only to discover a 16 inch long, deep gouge with white paint markings in the right rear of the truck. While I was waiting for a store manager, a gentlemen who was also waiting for items to be brought out walked over and told me that his wife saw two Menards employees with a lift truck and a long white box (with windows or a door) go by my truck and then they stopped, backed up, argued between themselves and took off without reporting it. As she was sitting on the other side of my truck where the damage occurred she could not see or be sure what happened. The Asst. Store Manager then decides to inform me that I was not even supposed to even be picking the display model up until Jan 09, 2018, but as a favor since someone forgot to call me that were going to get it ready anyone since I was there. He said not to worry about the damage they would get it figured out and I just needed to put in a claim with Menards. Which I did, however, since their employees won't admit to the damage, their surveillance cameras don't cover customer pickup in the secured back area of the stores and the woman does not want to be further involved, the claim was denied and now I am stuck with a $1, 000 in vehicle damage due to the negligence and lack of responsibility by Menards management and their employees. Menards is not committed into providing high-quality service for your customers this is ridiculous. No one wants to take responsibility for this (heater insert) for this fireplace I've talked to the Whalen Corporation, I've been to the Livonia store 12/07/17 I've submitted e-mail o Guest services 12/18/17, 12/22/17 and nothing. I made this purchase on November 24th 2017. When I took the unit back customer service said there were none in the store they had sold out on Good Friday and I went back to the department and they said there were none in the store in my options was to bring the fireplace back well as heavy as it is and it took me two days to assemble it, that is not an option there's nothing wrong with the wood fireplace it is the insert that is defective. I like to see her try to pick it up. The worst customer service. Here it is over a month and I'm stuck with a defective heater unit and no response. There are 14 of these units at the Marquette, MI store today tell me why I don't have one these. If I had purchased from Home Depot they would had one shipped to my house the next Day!

I went in store on Dec 3rd and found a dual recliner that was listed for sale price of 549.99 with an 11% rebate as well. I went back to purchase this item on Dec 9th because that was showing valid until that date for sale price. I had taken a screenshot from the Menards general website showing the price as well. On Dec 9th 2017 the price I'm store showed 599.99 with 11% rebate so Rob the general manager was shown the screenshot from Menards site and said that's not correct and accused me of photoshoping the price. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store and will no longer take my business there. For a store manager to make accusations and call me a liar to my face is unethical and he should be let go. I am writing the Better Business Bureau and placing an ad in the local and surrounding paper to show the type of people that are hired into a GM role. Truly disappointed!'
secret shopper harassment
I, David Kelly was shopping in the Kenosha Wisconsin store today 12/08/2017, with my partner from work. We had our company uniform on, our company truck was parked out front of the store. I spent $615.81 on my company credit card in purchases. My partner from work opened a box of rubber gloves to be sure they fit before purchasing them. They fit, he put the glove he tried on back inside of the Box of gloves that we were purchasing. After we had checked out spending over $600 on my company's credit card card, we were then chased down outside and acused of stealing gloves in which WE HAD JUST PURCHASED and brought into a tiny room. I was harassed by a female who obviously was a secret shopper that thought I stole the items I had just spent plenty of money on. I was held in this confined room for no reason at all, when I asked to speak to the GM I was told not at this time. There is plenty of cameras in the store. Why did they not view them to prove myself innocent, ESPECIALLY when I was not the one to even put the glove on my hand. This is absolutely ridiculous. I spend plenty of money in there each month on my company credit card as well as personal. I will be speaking with an attorney about this Monday morning. I did go to the police department and did get a police report. I WILL NOT step foot in another Menards again. That was by all means harassment.
I have attached receipts of my purchases, and then the gloves she made me REPURCHASE after being accused of stealing.
a suggestion made before
These must fall on death ears as I have made this suggestion before, who reads these, what next level goes too?
My suggestion has been that Menards needs to install benches throughout your huge stores for older folks or whoever can rest while shopping. There has been many times I would leave the store to go out and set in my truck or just simply leave because there is no place to sit. I have many family and friends have said this also.
Just the other day my older brother said he had to leave the store because he just had to sit down, he has a condition nerve issue in his leg if he is standing to long.
This only makes since to keep people in your store longer correct!

defective dakota madison 6-drawer dresser 4822776 - hmwd 16038
I picked up a dresser and mirror at the Homewood Menards on Friday, November 17, 2017 - 12:50PM. While items were being loaded at the store by Kurt, I noticed defects on two of the drawers. Those were changed out with drawers from another unit, however upon unwrapping the top of the desk in my home, another defect was discovered. I called the store to request a replacement be delivered to my home free of charge. This request was denied during my conversation with Steve. Instead, he offered me two options. Option 1. Go to Matteson and pick up another one (Homewood no longer had the dresser in stock; the one that was used for the replacement drawers had already been discarded) Option 2. Someone from Homewood would pick one up from another store, bring it to Homewood and I could pick up from there. Neither was a viable option since I had already paid someone to unload the dresser and affix the mirror in my home Incurring repeat, and now additional costs to replace defective merchandise didn't seem appropriate under the circumstances. My request was escalated to Richard, the District Manager who reiterated the same refusal and policy jargon. While I'm sure it wasn't his intention, some of his responses made me feel that my request was trivial and without merit. Although I'm discouraged and frustrated with Menard's escalation process, I'm forwarding my complaint on for further consideration. As a long-standing customer, I hope that my loyalty and outstanding history with you is valued and taken into consideration as you review my request.
rude behavior of department head
We have spent thousands at Menards over the years. Our front porch came from you, our 3 car garage came from you, our Gazebo, or decks, landscaping, etc. Your Crest Hill store (3218) know us by first names.
However, there is a person by the name of Chris C who works in the custom door and trim department. We have had occurrences with his attitude before. Maybe it is because we are a gay couple and he has issues with it, I don't know. But it happens over and over. Today I am sending this complaint because it needs to stop.
We ordered a custom Mastercraft double steel French outside door on 10/23/2017 at store 3218, with Chris C. (0rder #CRHL30086514) There are lots of decisions to be made on this door. We try to be as knowledgeable of products as we can but we rely on your expertise to guide us. After we placed the order we asked Chris to help us select the right door hardware for the door that will not have the deadbolt. He told us which ones and we purchase both sets of hardware handles.
When we were having the door installed, we noticed the door that was to have the dummy handles, had been bored out? We went to the store and Chris happened to be there. Our handles he helped us select would not work with this because we had a bore hole in the door. He said well you signed off on it so its your fault... I was dumbfounded. He told us which handle to select based on the decisions we both concluded on when ordering the door, so he should have realized that he told us the wrong door handle.
As I mentioned, we have run into this type of attitude with him in the past. He becomes very defensive and makes the customer feel stupid. Well, enough is enough. You need to have a talk with this guy and have him accept he is fallible, too.
SO we had to scramble to get another door handle for our door, with no help from Chris C. We were still in shock over how he handled this.
Of all your people in the store, Chris never says hello to us, in fact he looks away. We are in the store probably 3 to 5 times a week. Not always buying.
I am fed up with Chris C's attitude. I never make these kinds of complaints.in my life I have to deal with a lot of prejudice and have to look the other way.
I think Menard's owe us some kind of gift card for our continued faith in your store, despite your employees prejudicial viewpoints on someone he doesn't even know or understand.
We love everyone else in this store, but when we know we have to deal with this department, we get very nervous and anxious... and that is not deserving of any person regardless of there status in life.
Very offended by this incidence, and very angry.

Michael, sorry that happened to you but this site may not be the best place to get any kind of response from Menards directly. This appears to be a 'generic' complaint site where posters can leave comments/complaints on a truly varied amount of different companies. Maybe try getting a hold of management of that particular store or Menards corporate...good luck
I think asking for a gift card for one mildly unpleasant employee is unreasonable. If you feel this angry and offended by him, you should visit another location or a different business.
yard worker
On 11/10/2017 11:00 am CST in the Fort Dodge, Iowa store this occurred:
We made a purchase and went to the yard to retrieve the 12 cement blocks. We drove the row of blocks (south side) two times looking for the item number. The item numbers as I am sure you are aware are wrote on the plastic wrap, some blocks had no wrap. There was a employee operating a tow motor/ fork lift near the blocks. We asked for his assistance. He informed us the blocks were "that" direction, pointing east. We explained we had looked twice and had no luck finding the item number. He was very upset, actually totally putout when we asked if he would show us. It took him two trips down the row to find this blocks himself. Never did he offer to help load these. Him being late 40's I didn't expect this type of reaction. We are 65+ and the help would of been nice. To us this was in poor context and I understand people have bad days but I felt this should be brought to your attention.
Did you ask for help loading the blocks? Maybe he did not want to assume that you needed help simply because of your age.
rocker /recliners
We purchased 2 rocker/recliners at the Peoria IL store 12/31/15. Less than a year later they both started to come apart at the seams then the material started to wear through. We bought 5 yr. extended warranties that we were encouraged to buy. They were not worth the paper they were written on since it did not cover anything.
I have made 3 trips to Menards in the last month each time they tell me they will call or email with an answer on a resolution. Never heard anything back so returned yesterday and was informed they would do nothing. Gave me a refund on the warranties and the address of the manufacture and said sorry call them.
Well I didn't buy the chairs from the manufacture. I bought them from Menards and Menards should be the one dealing with them. They need to stand behind the inferior products they choose to sell as they advertise.
A refund, exchange or store credit would have satisfied us completely as it is right now I won't be spending the hundreds of dollars a year at any Menards.
maple nut goodies
I bought an 11 oz package of Maple Nut Goodies at Menards on October 23, 2017 and I opened them on October 24, 2017. They were like cement, no way could I eat them. I checked through the whole package and they were all like that. I was so very disappointed as this is one of my favorite candies, and I have bought them many times and never had a problem with them. Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

milk maid royals
I bought a huge bag of Royals and there was only 6 butter rum candies in there. I know it sounds silly but I only like the butter rum, sorry LOVE the butter rum. I am highly disappointed. I wish I could buy a bag of only butter rum. Sorry to have taken up your time...I just really love them and the only place I've ever seen them are at Menard's, so I bought a big bag.
It wasn't even Menard's, it was Brach's candy company. Don't know how in the hell it got on Menard's????
product pricing on shelf different than at register
On October 25, 2017 at approximately 7PM, I was shopping at 2700 Lake Cook Rd, Long Grove, IL 60047 location. On that specific day I came to the location to purchase tool chest made by Perfomax, an item I watched for several days before, and I thought that price of $249 is adequate.
I was immediately assisted by one of Menards employee, to make sure the price is of what it shows, and I ask the employee to assist me with the purchase process.
The assisting Menards personnel, could not locate the boxed item, even though, the store stock was additional 3. We spent approximately 30-40 minutes, going from Manager to Assistant Manager to assure the item is still available and is for sale.
in addition I had attempted to scan the shelf item barcode with Menards App, however, it did not work for me as well as the Menards personnel.
Finally, when the item got located and brought in front of register, the price did not match the item on the shelf. The significance difference was $199.00.
I asked the clerk why, and of course she could not answer it.
I immediately requested to speak to Manager, however, the Store Manager is too important to see the local customer who spends tons of money every year, and he sent his assistant Omar.
Omar, was the type of person who's terminally customer satisfaction oriented and stated "you wanna buy it, it's fine if not I will take it back on shelf".
I was shocked with this kind of approach. I asked why this price deviates from the price on the shelf he stated, "I don't know" and continuing his arrogant ignorance, turned back on me and walked away.
I requested to speak to his superior but after 40 minutes waiting, I gave up and left the store.
On the same day I paid off my Menards Credit Card and promised my self to never again shop in Menards.
Just as a prove of this I took a video and couple of pictures of this mis-priced item.
I hope the Menards Headquarter will have better idea of how to solve this issue and will take care of his long time customer. (or maybe not)

rebates
Twice this year I made purchases in excess of $10, 000 during a rebate period. It took me 4 months to get the rebate. Apparently the rebates are issued by a third party. I received the rebate after numerous attempts. They claimed the first was lost in the mail.
I made another $10, 000 purchase in july, am still waiting for rebate. Once again they claim the rebate must be lost in the mail. They have promised to resend in 30 days?
I am next wring to the ohio attorney general, something fishy is going on here.
Still waiting for my rebate that was sent in August. Not like it is an enormous amount 87 dollars, it's just that I feel I've been lied to. Shopping now at Lowes and Farm and Fleet and Anchor Lumbar. Need to make this viral, if they continue to screw people over
return service
My daughter has went to Menards store in kokomo, in. to return some roofing materials she had bought with my card. Upon returning the lady at customer service didn't give her the option on putting returned money back on my Menards card. Instead she gave her a $300.04 in store credit check. I went into the store today to have the money put onto my card and they said they couldn't due to being two days later. I am very upset at this whole process and want it fixed. I go there a lot for supplies, I'm so upset I'm thinking of not shopping Menards any longer.
returns policy
I was pretty excited to find the shower enclosure I was looking for $20 cheaper than anywhere else! Being new to the area, I had never been to Menards.
I order them on line and they came in about 2 weeks later. I picked them up and they did not fit. Pretty bummed I took them back and I found out about their 25% restocking fee. I was livid!
Over $240.00 to "re stock"! Their answer to my dumbfounded disbelief was, "it says it right on our website". Once I got home I went on their website and went through the process as if I were going to order another panel. Guess what? Nowhere did it say 25% restocking fee if you return this item. If I had seen it I would have never of purchased them from there at all! I think it should be illegal!
I will never shop there again! I will tell everyone I know and post this wherever I can so people can learn from my mistake.

My wife works in watertown SD where the location of the menards we go to is. I have been having her pick supplies up for our home after work. On 9/18/17 around 3pm I was having my wife pick up some carpet. She had the guys from the carpet department help her load it into the truck and strap it down. When she got home I met her outside and right away noticed the guys didn't put tubes in the center and she drove 45miles dragging the carpets. We then called watertown SD menards and talked to the general manager and he proceeded to say it was our responsibility and then asked us to contact our insurance company to file a claim for it. We both knew that was not covered under insurance so we said we will be contacting corporate and he said go right ahead and hung up. I also noticed when I was laying out one of the 3 carpets that said it was 18'11" it was only 14ft! Overall I am not happy with that store and feel something should be done with the way we were treated. I have a lot more pictures if needed including the writing on saran wrap and paper taped to carpet that shows they wrote 18'11" and a picture with tape measure that shows actual length of 14ft. Some of the pictures are too big to send through here.

employee/management ionia menards
Recently one of my close friends had a confrontation with a manager from the plumbing department at Menards Ionia. My friend was upset with Jeff Chapko due to Jeff and my friends ex brother in law threatening to "Take turns kicking Harry's butt on social media" i. e. Facebook, to no surprise while shopping at Menards for fixing a well / drainfield a verbal confrontation occurred and my friend exited the store. One month later my friend was arrested for Assault even though no physical contact occurred. Harry had decided to just stop shopping there however one month later he's arrested? My concern as a weekly shopper and owner of Knight Road investments, a house flipping company is that being known by Mr Chapko I 'm afraid he may try and accuse me of the same type of behavior. I'm planning on avoiding contact and shopping elsewhere until this matter is resolved but I just wanted to make you aware of the type manager you have employed.in closing again just want you to be aware that managers should refrain from social media bullying of customers both on and off the job. On October 1st at 10:30 am I purchased forty pavers and 5 50 pound bags of pea gravel. I pulled around the back of the store to pick up and when I had security check my receipt they first of all couldn't tell me where to go and get the product. He then proceeded to radio someone and ask where at and he told me to drive to bay 15 and I asked him if he could tell someone to help me and my wife and he said yes. we drove to that bay and passed up three associates standing and talking. I waited 27 minutes on someone to help but that never happened so I loaded everything myself while my wife was saying no just wait and we could get help. As I pulled back to the security desk to check out I passed the three associates still standing in the same place, so no help at all. I have spent thousands of dollars at menards but after today I will take my business elsewhere. In the future I hope nobody else will be treated like us.
