They don't read this. Call your bank. It's the fastest way to get the charges resolved. Call 1-800-4-MyXbox to have your card removed asap.

You'd get a better response if you go to the xbox live website, or better yet, call them. They can't be monitoring all these complaints website .. use your head. Expecting a response from a third-party website just shows the American mentality of seeking assistance.

You'll probably get a better response going to the xbox live website. I'm sure they don't have time to monitor all these petty complaints on thousands of complaint websites. Go to the source .. use your freaking head.

These are common scams. Do some research and educate yourself before you have your identity stolen! A real bank would never ever ask for any confidential information in an email expect when it is on their secured website inside your account. That goes texts as well, a real bank or credit card provider would never ever ask for confidential information in a text.

Microsoft stolen xbox 360 delivery

I ordered an Xbox 360 recently from the Microsoft Online Store. The product was shipped after the promised delivery date. Microsoft shipped my Xbox using UPS which left the delivery outside my front door. When I arrived home the Xbox was missing. After numerous calls and e-mails to Microsoft and UPS, I have been getting the run around from call center incompetents from the Phillipines and Central America. They were the worst customer service people I have ever dealt with in my life! Worst thing is that we were hoping to have the Xbox before Christmas for my kids. Their arrogance and lack of action to address my problem was beyond terrible. I will never buy anything from them and will tell as many people in my social network to do the same.

Microsoft charges on credit card

I purchased Microsoft Office 2010 online thru my employer. My credit card has also been billed for $10.77 on 10/11/11 and also a charge of $14.07 on 10/12/11. If I remember correctly, the total purchase at the time was $27; are these the same charges, but just billed separately on my credit card? Thanks! Mae Preston

Microsoft suspended account

My XBOX Live account was hacked by a thief in Europe. They stole Microsoft Points (we pay for these points via credit card) and purchased additional points (which they used). I immediately was notified of this purchase and was able to recover my account. I logged into my XBOX Live account and I was able to discover who stole these points and who hacked into my account because they were still in the system playing a game called FIFA 12 Soccer. I called Microsoft and reported the incident. I gave them the email address and gamer ID of the thief. The customer service rep at Microsoft indicated my account would be suspended for 25 days while Microsoft investigated the incident. This happened on 10/12/2011. It's been 33 days and the company still won't tell me when my account will be unsuspended. They have not bothered to communicate anything to me indicating the status. I followed up with their customer service representative and the acknowledged that they were going to need more time. I believe these hacks are pervasive and larger than Microsoft is willing to admit. Based on the Internet research I have done, this FIFA 12 Soccer hack is widespread. My issue is we use our XBOX Live to view Netflix, play video games, do video conferencing across the US amongst our family and we view TV & purchased movie content. This account is the center of our family's entertainment and communication with one another. Being suspended for another person hacking into my account (through no fault of my own, as best as I can tell) is simply unacceptable. The lack of communication is disappointing enough, but the feeling of being punished twice (first by the perpetrator and second by Microsoft) is simply unacceptable. I have sent Microsoft emails via their XBOX Live forum but no response. I believe these hacks are a very serious issue to Microsoft and perhaps are covering up how widespread it is. Thank you.

Punished? Because you have to wait? Take a number. From summer through Christmas, people have nothing better to do than to guess your password and charge your account. It sucks, but it isn't Microsoft's fault. Secondly, it takes time. There are millions and millions of users, and other people have the same issue as you. Anything is at risk of being cracked.. any passwords.. Facebook.. Email... Especially because people make it too easy to reset their information. You are also reimbursed for any missed play time at the end of the investigation.

Microsoft takes them almost a year to give us refund

About a year ago Yahoo and Microsoft decided to create AdCenter for advertising and transfer all pre-paid balances from Yahoo to newly created AdCenter accounts. My money was tranferred too, but I could never use it in AdCenter. Then I decided to stop advertising in AdCenter and requested a refund of the balance. They said they sent me a check. I never got it. I called them again. They said they would investigate and call the bank to verify what happened to the check they sent me. This was like 3 months ago. At that time the person's name I was dealing with was Moises Lopez. Then later my case was transfered to Nathan McIver. They keep telling me they still haven't heard from the bank. I originally requested the refund almost a year ago. It is a big disgrace that I still haven't gotten the money. How hard can it be to call the bank, give them the number of the check and ask them to check if it was cashed or not? Maybe 10 - 15 minutes?

Microsoft how to cancel xbox live account: cancel your credit card

I created an annually-renewing XBox Live account for my son in 2005 using my Bank of America Visa, which was set to expire on 05/07. BofA "upgraded" me shortly before the card's expiration, so I got not only a new expiration date, but even a new card number. My son moved on to Playstation in 2007, but I didn't worry about the account renewing again in 2008 because I did not associate the new card number with the XBox account, nor did I give Microsoft the new card's expiration date.

But in October of 2008, I was charged for the annual renewal - on the new card number. Much to my surprise/dismay, I learned that that's actually legal.

When I got the renewal notice in July of 2009, I called to cancel the XBox account. This was a difficult task due to the change in the credit card number, but I finally got the cancellation - or so I thought.
The annual renewal charge appeared on my October 2010 statement. Unfortunately, I failed to review my card statement carefully, so I didn't learn about it until several months later.

I called again to cancel in 2010 (sometime in May, I think), but by this time, I had no record or recollection of the original card number, and Microsoft couldn't locate the billing information without that number. After spending well over an hour on the phone (following a 20-minute wait before getting an agent), providing all sorts of other information, I thought I had the XBox account cancelled.

That is, until I received the notice of renewal in July, 2011. I called to cancel yet again, but was not successful because Microsoft again couldn't locate my account record. My only recourse at this point was to contact BofA and dispute the charge. That happened during the last few days of July, 2011.

In late October, I received notice from BofA that "the merchant provided convincing information that you (I) did engage in this transaction...", along with copies of screen shots provided by Microsoft of my account activity *including a record of my attempted cancellation on 7/26* (I still fail to understand how Microsoft could have been "unable to find my account information" when I called on 7/26 yet have that notation on the record!) But hallelujah, those screen prints gave me enough information! Microsoft had blacked out all but the last four digits of the card number, but I was just able to read it with a bit of creative backlighting.

So I've now cancelled the account, but since it's now November, Microsoft won't refund the charge, despite the fact that there's been no activity on the account for three years.

Given the history, I absolutely *WILL NOT TRUST MICROSOFT* to acy cancel the XBox account. The only way I will feel comfortable is to cancel my Bank of America Visa. But that's no loss - It's outrageous that BofA (or any credit card company) will allow a merchant to charge an expired card or a card with a deprecated number. It may be legal, but that doesn't make it right.

Microsoft billing scam, triplicate accounts

The Xbox auto answering system appears to be designed to make it extremely difficult to speak with someone, requiring any non xbox playing parent to have to have their child with them when calling - need gamer tag? In addition, they may be manipulating children, shutting off their account, requiring the child to get the parent to open a new account - or offering $1 fees for new accounts, again incentivizing the children or unaware parents to open additional accounts. When the parent finds out they've been paying $50-$75/month for 3-5 accounts, but only 1 child, Xbox Customer Service says not credit, no mistake, thus basically no customer service. In my experience it is an intentionally manipulative system and strategy to milk people for everything they can get.

My son bought a Xbox video game. In order to play on-line he had to buy Xbox live time. The minimum time you can buy Xbox live is three months. He didn't bother to renew it. Three months later I got a bill on my credit card like yours. I went to Microsoft Xbox live on the internet and there is a customer support number. I called and the very nice representative there explained that they automatically sign you up for an automatic yearly renewal even though you only wanted to try it for three months. I caught this error before 30 days passed, they refunded the full amount. Good Luck!

Microsoft the company will continue to charge your card as “automatic renewal” without your permission, authorization or knowledge

Don’t ever use a credit card to pay for xbox live access. The company will continue to charge your card as “automatic renewal” without your permission, authorization or knowledge. When they did this to me I called to get the charge removed. After an hour on the phone they refused to refund the money. When I asked for a supervisor, they said one would return my call. When no call came, I called the number they had given me, which I had asked for, knowing they wouldn’t call. Guess what. Not a working number. You would think billions of dollars in profits would be enough. Why resort to unethical and criminal business practices. Be careful when dealing with Microsoft. Better yet – don’t deal with them at all.

XBL has been this way since as long as I can remember. It's in the terms and conditions.

Be careful when you give your child your credit card to renew his/her xbl subscription. Or buy one month's at the store and don't renew over your xbox...it stores your card when you do that.

I will say that I've never been incorrectly charged for xbox live. I have my main account which is yearly, and a bunch of randoms that renew monthly as I use/need them.. but I ALWAYS have to call and cancel, or they would continue to charge me.

always, always read the terms of service. as for MS and every other internet subscription, the fees are automatic. this is true for MMO's, xbox live, etc. Unless you have signed up for a flat one month fee, it will continue to charge the account you have put on file until you cancel the subscriptions

I can not open my e-mail from hotmail.com. I was very sick in Janurary 2012 and could not sleep so I tried to get on my hotmail account.. I don't know if I put the wrong password in or what happened. I kept getting message that the wrong password was used several times and it would not open. I pay for hotmail plus. It is take out of my credit card every year. My friends are sending me e-mails to this address and I probably have 1000 or more that I can not see. I even thought the hotmail server was down, as I tried to access my account several hundred times by resetting my password. Nothing worked. I tried to call... and no answer. My friend suggested I open a new hotmail account, so I did this with a new username and a new password. This sucks... I want my old user name and old password back, and to get my mail thats piling up. Also my personal business contacs has this address and I need to hear from them. My answer from this comment will determine if I write a letter to my credit card cancelling HOTMAIL PLUS . Can you help me solve this problem?

Microsoft invalid credit card charge

We did not charge this expense of $ 19.99 If this is for 1600 bundle points this is incorrect because we have Bundle Purchase of $ 59.99 for gold 12 month time period starting 11/26/10 ~ we would not need an additional 1600 bundle points for $ 19.99 ! Help!

Microsoft xbox live cod racist remarks

For years I have been reluctant to purchase an Xbox 360, but until about a month ago, had finally done so. When visiting a friend, I always had a blast playing Call of Duty (COD) online at his house. For all the hours of fun, my friend would repeatedly warn me of the vulgar and ugly racist comments that spewed from the mouths of "some" gamers. After about two weeks of playing COD online, I finally got a taste of the ignorance that my friend so emphatically described and said was all too common. Call me a traditionalist, but one of the reasons that I bought an Xbox was because the fact that Microsoft is an American company. As a fairly young man, that thing matters to me especially in this economic climate. After witnessing the racist comments today, I decided to file a complaint on the gamer. I can only hope that Microsoft will take this type of evil behavior seriously and not think about their wallets. Although I do not have children, if I did COD and maybe even Xbox live would be definitely out of the question. I hope something is done. And soon.

Microsoft good luck trying to cancel your account

Good luck trying to cancel your account. Hotmail deliberately creates a run-around where it's impossible to cancel if you've ever linked your Hotmail account or MSN ID to "any paid Microsoft service." They will fail, however, to TELL you what such service may be. It seems like their business model is this: make it impossible for free users to cancel their accounts so they can artificially inflate the number of users they have.

Welcome to the club. I made the mistake of signing up for Windows Live Hotmail Plus for which I paid $20.00 a year for years. For 4 months, I've tried unsuccessfully to cancel my hotmail account and I have given the runaround. I cancelled the Hotmail Plus more than two years ago, still they want me to "cancel it" although is listed as "cancelled" under that account.. It seems we are dealing with ###s. Microsoft has gone down. It's customer service stinks. I can feel your pain and frustration, believe me. Best thing is not to do business at all with Microsoft and share your experiences with the world through the newspapers. Bill Gates should be embarrassed of what this company has come to. But I guess he doesn't care anyway, but we customers have to deal with the incompetent service.
