MTA harmful bus driver

At around 6:10PM, Wednesday, March 31, 2010, I made an attempt to board a Q65 MTA bus number 9851 heading to College Point, at the Main Street station. As I put my foot onto the steps, with my body half way on board, the bus drive who clearly saw me and was aware of me making my way to get into the bus closed the door, leaving me trapped in between the bus doors for 10 seconds before releasing me. He stared at me the entire time I struggled to get in and tried to free myself. He did NOT apologized for his action, an obvious reason why I am filing this complaint for his INTENTIONAL HARM. I must voice myself out even if the MTA would not take action to correct this man's mistake because it could happen to any person; mothers carrying small children who try to catch a bus could get seriously injured. I don't believe there is any reason for this bus driver who operated bus number 9851 today should close the door ON A PASSENGER. I see this a serious potential danger, he could have pulled the bus away with my body hanging half way out the door.

There is something that I dislike about the q 65 buses services. Lack of control. There would sometimes be spaces in the bus yet the bus driver would say that he / she is full and close the door. It just that the driver needs to have control and ask passengers to move in further into the bus or give other passengers way to move in. All of us are working people and needs to get to work on time.

I had a similar incident this morning while trying to board the OM11 in Forest Hills on my way into Manhattan. Although, in my case I really don't think that the bus driver even noticed me. He closed the door as I was boarding the bus, same as you, with one foot on the bottom step and the other foot outside on the ground. My body was trapped in the door and I have the bruises to show on my leg, stomach, arm, neck, and back. I screamed at him to stop but he just either ignored me or didn't hear me. Finally, as he was about to pull away (after me being trapped for about 5-10 seconds) he released the doors and I got on the bus while screaming at him. I took a seat on the bus (first mistake) went to work (second mistake) and called the MTA to complain. They gave me the number to file a claim and I had to leave a message which I have yet to hear back. So after being at work for 2 hours in excruciating pain, I decided to go to the nearest emergency room where I was examined and x-rayed. Luckily nothing was broken, but I have a leg contusion, a clavicle contusion, a sprained wrist and a hell of a lot of pain. I will follow up with the MTA and maybe in a few years I'll get reimbursed for my medical bills.

MTA rude queens bus driver q37

On Wednesday morning, January 20, 2009, at about 8 AM on the Q37 bus line at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Park Lane South, an MTA bus driver was extremely rude with my fiance and I. My fiance and I got on the bus at 111th and Myrtle ave; he did not have enough in his card to pay for the bus fair and as we were figuring out to get change from some of the other passengers, the bus driver yelled at my fiance to get off the bus. At that same time, a kind lady offered to give us some change and when I went to get my fiance back in the bus (he had gotten off) the bus driver closed the door right on my face. Then when i asked him several times to open the door he wouldn't, i began to slam on the door and he eventually opened it but did not stop the bus. I got off the bus in shock, shaking, and began yelling at the bus driver for being rude. I unfortunately did not get the bus number nor the driver's badge but I do remember his face and know that he is one of the newer drivers on the Q37. I immediately called 311 to complain, they transfered me to the MTA bus complaint department who then had me leave a message because "their operators were all busy". They said they would returned a call in 24-hours and it has now been about 29hrs and still no call. I will be writing letters to everyone because this type of services is dispicable.

The Q37 line has never been a dependable line because it never runs on schedule but most of the bus drivers have been nice, especially when it came to people who were short of the $2.25 fair. They would let you stay on the bus knowing that you will eventaully pay the fair when transfering to the E/F train in Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens.

I was just in complete shock because I could've fallen off the bus but thanksfully I didn't. I called I hope that they put some sense into bus drivers to stop when openeing the door. I hope to not see this bus driver again on this line. MTA should make sure they hire people who will work well with people because these are public service positions.

In my opinion, 90% of the bus drivers in Queens and Long Island are very rude.
Sometimes they are chatting on their cellphones while driving and although people ring the bell for their stop, the drivers are so distracted that they don't stop.
They turn off the bell and people would have to scream for their stop.
The buses are so crowded and the drivers will not open the rear door so you have to push your way to the front door while people are cursing at you.
I always have my metro card and coins ready for the bus so sometimes I don't blame the drivers when people don't want to pay because I see it daily on the bus where people's metro cards don't work and they don't pay with coins. Sometimes the drivers will be very rude or they will tell you nicely that you cannot ride the bus if you don't pay. Drivers should be people oriented as we are customers.

MTA attitude of bus driver

On Saturday at approx. 9:20am on 80th St between Myrtlye Ave & 78th Rd (a two way main street) a Bus driver Badge #31566, Bus #4487, License #M 66386, Route #29 deliberately drove down the middle of the street and would not move his bus over to let me pass. When I approched the bus to talk with him about moving the bus into a space large enough to fit 3 1/2 cars he would not even look in my direction. There was more than enough room for the bus and my car to pass each other if he would have move to his right even 12 inches. The bus supervisor said that if he felt he could not make the move he didn't have to and I would have to backup half a block to let him pass. I realize he has to defend his driver but even he said that an experienced driver would have no trouble making the move. I was under the impression these drivers had to pass a driving test to operate a bus. If the driver has issues with judgement he shouldn't be jeopardizing the safety of others by driving something he has problems with. Thanks for hearing me out.

MTA bus stereo typing passenger

A bus driver on the b60 which made its last stop on flatlands ave around 08:35pm - 08:45pm bus number 6421, refused to let me sit in the seats for the disabled even though I have a card from mta identifying me as being disabled. I had just left fedex on 108 st. And had no problem with any body odors. When I road the bus to fedex and sat in seats for disabled there was no problem / incident concerning a body odor.
The bus driver was just stereo typing me due to the fact that at the particular time I was wearing booties on both feet and had a handkerchief on my head, under a leather cap. No one has ever complained about any body odors. She was just pre-judging me and assuming that the way I was dressed I must therefore smell. I possess two college degrees in engineering bachlors and masters. People should not have to wear the newest outfits to ride public transportation.

MTA inconsiderate driver

July 22, 2009 around 6:00pm the Q60 bus was like 20 feet away from the bus stop letting the people off. He closes the door and gets like 10 feet from the bus stop. He stops because the light was red and there was cars in front of him waiting for the light to change. I'm at the bus stop and I go to the door of the bus and the bus driver looks at me and does not open the door. Meanwhile, he was just standing there pretending he didn't see me refuses to open the door. THE BADGE NUMBER OF THIS DRIVER WAS 31119. He was an older white male. If people don't complain about these inconsiderate drivers they will keep doing these things. We are paying for our service and with the price increase of the fares their service towards us should be better and not treating us costumers like their doing us a favor.

M101 Limited driver of bus 5716 at around 9:45pm (switch relief late bus driver) got on at 100th street. This is a limited bus. It seemed like he was late as a relief driver and stayed at the stop for a very long time. He was suppose to go express and stop at 106th and 107th 3rd avenue. He stopped at 105/104th street unexpectedly as passengers were confused. We rang the bell and as he pulled off he began to bypass 106th street (the stop for limited buses) go towards 116th street. I went to the front of the bus as fast as I could (I was sitting all the way in the back). I said what happened to the "limited" stop 106/107th street. He was rude and said I stopped - didnt you see me at 106th I said NO that was 105/104th street that wasnt even the stop you confused people. He said you wanna get off all you have to do is say so. I was so MAD. How can I say so am sitting all the way on the back of the bus. The fact that I rang the bell should say I want to get off at the "RIGHT" stop. Now they stop random with limited buses and regular stops. I have lived in NYC all my life. Limited buses have always stopped at CERTAIN stops so I know I was not crazy. I was annoyed because he made me feel like I was the crazy one after paying a fare increase you dont want to feel like you are the nutty one. I was so bothered not only because he was rude but late and made me out to be the unclear one. He brushed it off instead of saying sorry he just said "you wanna get off?". Anooyed.

MTA generally bad service

I hardly know where to start...The MTA has got to be one of the worst companies in the history of...history. Cutting service, raising prices, lowering standards, and lowering maintenance of buses.
But moving past the company's general issues, let's take a brief look at the Bus system. First of, buses are (on average) 10-20 minutes late. Second, the bus drivers are horrible who can't do a job right. They are so rude to customers. I've seen obvious racism on the part of MTA employees. I once saw an Asian lady get talked to as if she were an idiot just because her card didn't work. What's funny is that a few stops later, a teenager juts walked in without paying and the driver paid no mind. People with luggage/children are treated like crap. Basically, MTA workers make it seem like a crime to be busy. Also, when MTA drivers end their shifts, they take their sweet time. They talk to their fellow drivers for a few minutes, then they laugh and joke as if there wasn't a bus full of students, workers, and parents running late. I just felt like I needed to get this off my chest, because I read an article in AM New York, and I saw that I was not the only one who hates the MTA.

MTA Ignorant bus driver

Id like to file a complain about a certain bus driver on the M50 bus going East from West 46th Street and 12th Avenue at 5:37pm.

I am riding that bus every day at 6:04pm but this week I took the 5:37pm twice. Today, Thursday March 19th, 2009 an African American older man tried to get on that bus at 10th Avenue with a small hand truck which had a cardboard box covered in a black plastic bag on it. The man got on the bus and the driver said he had to get off; he couldnt get on the bus with that hand truck. Of course the older man refused and stayed on. The bus driver then turned the engine off and said that if he wouldnt leave and everybody had to get off.

This is the second time I am witnessing this situation this week with the same driver and the same old man. My understanding is that the old guy is a delivery guy and I have seen him many times taken that bus with the truck; not one driver said anything. I went to the driver and asked him for the reason he answered that this was MTA policy and he is not allowed to take riders on the bus with hand trucks. He also said that there is not enough space on the bus which wasnt the case; there where maybe 20 people on that bus. I told him that the guy is on the bus all the time and it doesnt make sense to me and that I thought that he had different reasons. Somebody then yelled Yes, because he is a racist and honestly I have to agree. Very often guys (non African Americans) get on that bus with the same kind of hand trucks and way bigger boxes.

I find that outrageous! What an ignorant MTA employee.

This poor man gets probably minimum wage and just tries to do his job. He deserves a break. I know he will be on that bus again and I hope he will be let on without that trouble.

You are stupid lady! You stand right up to the edge of the sidewalk with your kids in tow when there is a lot of traffic. A bus making the turn needs the space to pull up close to the curb and to stop. You think driving a bus is the same as pulling a donkey cart? Deal with it. You deserved to be humiliated. It would be better than seeing your children paralized or even worse, dead!

My complaint is about the LIRR and their Peak and Off-peak ticket policy. I think it's absolutely ridiculous and unfair. If you buy an Off-peak ticket and you are on a Peak train, you BETTER pay the surcharge or get off the next stop. If you have a Peak ticket on an Off-peak train, you are just told "oh, next time buy Off-peak", you don't get any money...
