MTA rudeness to disabled riders

I'm a passenger on the mta bus line 60 going towards the artesia transit center and while an disabled man in an wheelchair was trying to board the bus t ghost e operator was extremely rude. He wasn't patient at all he raised his voice at him and he didn't bother to offer him any assistance with getting in or off the bus also I didn't hear him ask if he needed to be strapped . This operator has extremely poor customer service and shouldn't be working this job.

MTA rude bus driver!

Last nite around 7:30pm started waiting to the m100 bus to take me home. After waiting until 8:30 pm a man came walking and informed everyone at the bus that the busses weren't running because the hills the bus route had to take we're very slippery from the snow. I started walking to antha avenue when I noticed the m100 bus taking an different route to make it to the stop I was at! Immediately I started jogging back to the bus stop! I had to catch this bus I was waiting for a hour just to get home! Me and the bus got to the light t the same exact time. The bus. Driver having to make a left turn n me having to cross the street! The pedestrian light red 19 secs left to cross! Giving me the right a way crossing and falling the bus driver almost ran me over! It's snowing outside my feet is freezing! I get on the bus! First thing I say is omg u almost ran me over! He have the nerver to say I saw the bus an ran n front! My reply was no mr. I had the light it was 20 seconds left for me to cross do u know this man ha the nerve to say everybody saw! No way everybody on the bus saw because the windows were fogged up! Also he knew I had the right a way! Car drivers in nyc have the tendency to look at the pedestrain sgings along w us! N not the stop lights! So when the count down begins they move without looking at the reg street light! This bus driver was very rude! A be careful next time or an apology would have been ok w me but he screams everyone saw me and dnt talk to him cuz he's driving! Bus #4831 3/17/2013 around 8 o'clock pm

MTA bad business and cust. serv., filthy free loader constantly on bus

Please review this un-professional practice that has continued for over 6mons. Everyone of your Drivers on the route Hollywood to Imperial going down Western @ 5am - 6am, allow this smelly bum to stink-up the bus each&every morning. Evidently, he gets on @Hollywood & Western ... and ride all the way to 94th st. (FREE) and take the whole side sit, with his nasty feet kicked-up and sleeping Plus smell of years old urine & fecal matter. The poor mostly Latino morning working passengers do not want to address this matter only because he is black (but I am black and if I could I would settle this off the bus) but I am in College and do not play BAD. So I am taking the proper steps and inform you as to the seriousness of this too long on-going matter.

This is the USA where non taxpaying, piss and crap covered mentally ill individuals have more rights than the honest hardworking taxpayer. If they remove him from the bus, some ### lowlife lawyer will sue the crap out of the MTA, collect a large settlement, then shove the poor sick person back out on the street to start the whole process all over again.

MTA driver closed doors on me

On Monday 9/10/2012 at 8:15am at Church Ave and Ocean Parkway, I was about to board the express bus taking me to Manhattan. I was the second passenger to board the bus. I waited for the gentleman before me to put his card in the machine. I had one foot on the ground and one foot on the first step and then the bus diver closed the door hitting my upper arms and both thighs. I screamed so you could have heard me all up and down Church Ave. His comment was that he didn't see me. I asked him if he checks the number of passengers getting on the bus. plus other obscenities . I had surgery July 13, 2012 on the right hip bursar. The door hit that area of my leg. He did ask if I wanted a doctor and I told him that I was on the way to see my physician. All areas that got hit are black and blue. I am very concerned about the surgical area.that the internal tissues are not damaged. I got the names and tele #s of 2 witnesses as well as the # of the bus and the driver's badge # 54149. The bus number was 3234.

MTA bus driver not taking me on

I just got off 12 hour grave yard shift. I came off the train at the Vermont Athen station. Around 7:48 the 204 (bus number 9503) arrived at its stop. I was the only passenger to board. While walking to the bus who was a couple feet away. Closed her doors and pulled off seeing me coming. I’ve been waiting at the bus stop. She pulled off where she then waited for a red light to turn green. There was no more then 5 passengers on this bus.

That’s so disrespectful and I pay my 70$ every month for the services of the MTA to be treated as someone is doing me a favor. This happens far to often where a lot of the time it seems as drivers don’t have any fear because I believe it’s not that simple to make a complaint. I’m tired and very upset. These drivers should be held accountable for their non-chalance, and lack of courtesy. It should also be an easier way for people to complain to filter out the good from bad drivers who’s mostly coming in to grab a check and not do their job tithe best of their ability.

I took the time to find this site and write my complaint as I have to wait for another bus. Hopefully this one will take time to allow me on Her/his” bus.

This unacceptable!

MTA held against will by driver

I'm writing to lodge a complaint against a bus driver.
On the very rainy morning of January 27th at 8:28, I boarded the 63/61

(#7587) bus at Atlantic and Court Street in Brooklyn New York.
My trip was to Long Island College hospital, a 3 stop ride away.
I immediately knew something was malicious about the lady bus driver when

she drove way past the bus shelter so that those people boarding had to get

wet while trying to board.
The bus did not have many people aboard, in 2 stops I was the sole

passenger left.
As soon as the bus pulled away from Henry street while standing in the back

doorway I rang the bell.
I never sat cause my trip was only 3 blocks long.
The bus waited in traffic after pulling off.
When it got to the Hick street stop the driver by passed it.
Still in traffic with me at the back door I said "Please let me off the bus".
She refuse and did not let me off.
I then walked to the front of the bus telling her I don't know what's on the

other side of the bridge and to let me off I don't wanna go back there.
I said "I do not know how to get back!", and still she drove me way past where I

was headed. I even said to her you are kidnapping me.
I have never had any trouble with any other driver since riding either the 61

or 63 bus to the hospital since October.
For this driver to refuse to stop at a hospital stop not know if the passengers

are patients or visiting very sick patients or maybe even employees is horrible

and a shame.
This lady left me with no bus stop to return crying in the pouring rain.
I feel like she victimized me cause I was the last passenger on the bus so

there was no one to say yes I rang the bell.
I took photos of the driver, bus number and back of the bus so that I could

report this.
When I showed folks in the hospital the photos on my phone they began to

inform me that she does this often.
I let her know that while I was on board that I will not let this go cause this

should not have happened.
I was left lost and in tears and I want something done about it.
I also like to be informed as to what the end result will be.

MTA a bus driver who plays favorites! (not at all okay!)

Yesterday at 5:00-something, i was catching the bus, and this black guy who was driving the 53rd bus with the # 7506 was talking to this certain group of people on the bus for while before pulls off in like a few minutes. What he was saying- i didn't like it-it was crazy. He was saying this stuff about how he would leave the people who look ugly to him off of the bus until it was time to pull off, and then later on when this guy came on the bus who sort of looked like him ( all fat and stuff, like he'd been dealt a slightly bad hand in life) said to him that that when kobe was talking about the word "###ing ###" on the court, he was saying all this " yeah, we be thinking it, but you can't say it out loud." Oh, HELL NO! you can't be working in Califronia, Los Angeles when you see stuff that way! You can't be homophobic, or gay-hating! He's a ###! Gonna talk to a certain amount of people like he's friends with them, but he's one of those homophobic ###! That's a mess! Then, at one stop he didn't even let this one woman get on the bus, just because she was walking toward the bus stop. The way he made it sound was that she was still walking while the bus stopped at the bus stop! no, that's not what happened! He's a jerk! he should have let her on! he should have stayed a little while longer! JERK!

I am thankful to God, that I have not taken a bus since, 2009. The problem now, is I work with the homeless. One of these people, happen to be a 75 year old woman on a walker. Bus drivers, will pass her up as it takes to long in their minds to pick her up! I mentioned that is discrimination and MTA, is accountable. She doesn't want to go the route of a lawsuit. I honestly, do not know what to do. But, if she continues to complain, why doesn't she want to do anything? The drivers, passing her up, will eventually, get theirs from GOD!

This morning at 7:23AM, November 14, 2013, on the corner of Venice Blvd and Overland westbound, a number 733 bus stopped on the east side of Overland to let people off the bus even though the bus stop was on the west side of Overland. The bus driver did not stop to pick me up even though I was at the bus stop. There were a few people standing on the bus. The next bus picked me up and was much more crowded than the bus that passed me up. Therefore, the driver who passed me up inconvenienced the next bus driver and all of the passengers because some of them should have been picked up by the driver who passed me up. On another subject, I observed 13 passengers enter the bus I was on from the rear and not pay bus fare. All 13 were hispanic. It would be funny if the driver who passed me was hispanic.

Yeah, some drivers can be rude, but there are very rude, disrespectful passengers who ride the bus on a daily bases. These passengers don't abide by any of the rules, nor do they care too. You wonder why the service sucks, check the idiot sitting next to you. You can't expect a driver who's disrespected on a daily basis, who has no authority, who deals with the public who don't listen to any of the instructions given by the driver to be the main reason why the service sucks. Everyone is accountable.

MTA rude

These bus drivers are so rude and disrespectful its to a point where you can't believe he just said that. Today my friend and I were on our way home and we were crossing the street and saw that the bus was already at the bus stop, so we tried to run and catch it. When we reached there, the doors were just about to close and he said too late and closed the door and drove off. I was extremely upset because of several reasons 1. this has not been the first time a bus driver in this neighborhood has acted like this 2. As I was running I lost a very important item 3. It was just plain rude and so out of line that i wish i could have seen his name and face more clearly to report him! This is so disgusting how they act and it simply needs to be reported

I WAS WAITING FOR THE #8 BUS AT CROSBY WHEN THIS FEMALE DRIVER WAS VERY RUDE AND RACIST. MY GRAND DAUGHTER 5 YEARS OLD HAS BEEN RIDING THE BUS SINCE SEPT. NO ONE TOLD ME I HAVE TO PAY FOR HER. WHEN I ASKED FOR CHANGE IN THE BUS. THIS EXTRA HEAVY SET WOMAN, BLONDE, BLUE EYES, TOLD ME TO GET OUT AT THE BACK OF THE BUS. I FAILED TO WRITE DOWN THE BUS #. I HAD SPOKEN TO SEVERAL RIDERS AND THEY SAY SHE IS ALSO RUDE WITH THE ELDERLY. WOMEN LIKE HER SHOULD BE WORKING AT RIKERS ISLAND OR THE BRONX ZOO, NOT WITH HUMANS.

It doesnt matter if he needs to be on time.. His JOB is to pick up people regardless of the matter.. especially if this guy was already at the bus stop. Your view molliewollie is contradicting. If your saying that the bus driver shud not wait for this guy because the world does not revolve around him then why should this guy or the busdriver care about the other "ON TIME" people.. Same goes for them.. as in the world does not revolve around them either.. Soo.. in conclusion that b@sterd just should have done his job but ofcourse they want to act like rudeass ###s..

MTA ridiculous attitudes for great pay + benefits

Why is it that every time there is a fare hike, I notice how nasty bus drivers and MTA train booth attendants are? Bloomberg has some nerve giving into their demands. For a department that basically controls New York City, its HR departments don't really give them correct training for interacting with the public. They are nasty, bored, not helpful at all, and get paid some of the best wages in the city. They make you so mad sometimes, you wanna hit 'em, but if you do, its a felony now. LOL, I don't think 7 years in prison is worth this assh*le who is more concerned about ending his shift quickly to start a break early.
I have seen bus drivers stop, get OUT OF THE BUS, WHICH YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER. DO, and go to stores, pick up dry cleaning, buy lunch... I mean, if you have to use the bathroom, then ok, tha'ts fine, but if you have to take a crap, you should have called out that morning. I'm not gonna be late for work because you HAD to eat Indian food for dinner, ya dig?
They allow person after person access with NO FARE RECEIVED, but when honest people forget to put money on their card, or are confused as to what bus to take, the bus drivers kicks them off. But stupid ### wh*re who gets on, walks past the toll and 'pretends' to be looking for her card, will ride for free because next stop is hers. HEY. Whoa. I take a bus two stops after I transfer off one bus, can I ride for free, too? Well, you'd be surprised how often they allow people not to pay. If you're a commuter, it is your responsibility to pay, and to remember to have fare. Wanna know WHY they were 3 billion under budget? Get EVERYONE to pay for their fare and you'll see how much money will REALLY come in.
Also, give sensitivity training to ALL MTA EMPLOYEES because they even give attitude to the handicapped who need to be lifted up onto the back of the bus, like, its your job assh*le, you get PAID. This person isn't getting paid to be handicapped (ignore disability, cuz thats garbage), while you're getting great money (thats NEVER enough, remember the strike?) and benefits, so stop complaining because if the MTA bosses were harder on you, you'd all be replaced with happy, pleasant and helpful people and you can work in retail and get treated the way you treat straphangers!

MTA rude lirr ticket collector

On Feb 1, I was riding the 10:22 train from Little Neck, which as medical student I do not board frequently and realized that I forgot to purchase a February Monthly ticket. Every month I buy a monthly ticket when I showed the ticket usher my January ticket she yelled at me in public and threatened to call the police on me when I told her only had 8 dollars. She then grabbed my wallet to see if I had any more money and I was completely humiliated by this woman. As a loyal patron I buy monthly tickets regularly and have not had any complaints despite your limited service and awful communication through out all these weather delays. However, I refuse to be humiliated by one of your employees and treated in such a disrespectful manner. I would have preferred a summons for this then her reaction and utter disrespect. I really hope that teh MTA will see to this matter and this disrespectful employee and assure that this does not happen to another MTA customer.

A very similar thing happened to me, coming from greenport, where there's no ticket machine. I asked if they took credit cards but the conductor (conductor 7178) used the opportunity to threaten and intimidate us. We were the only people on the train. I've had plenty of great experiences on the LIRR, but this guy was a sociopath.

This happened to me today. I have been a customer for 20 years and today I forgot my wallet. I did not realize it until I got on the train. When the agent came by to check tickets I realize I left my wallet home. I tried to whisper to the agent that this occurred. He asked me for money in such a loud voice that I was humiliated. Now I am a business man wearing a $400 suit, I only mention that to try and make you understand that I did not look like a dead beat, just an honest person who forgot his wallet. I asked him if he can send me a bill, I've seen them do that before, his answer was I know you have money stop trying to get away with a free fare. I was mortified and completely humiliated since this was a packed train at 830am. I was so embarrassed I wanted to jump off the train. I have been buying a monthly for years and did have a monthly but I forgot my wallet. In the end a good Samaritan someone I never met before got up and said to the agent whats wrong with you embarrassing this man like this? He then took out a $20 bill and paid my fair. In the end everybody clapped for this kind man and so Did I . I got his address and mailed him a check today for double the amount. I wanted to show him my gratitude. This agent should be fired!

That's insane, I've also had to pay on board and did not have enough money and the MTA person was quite nice and said that it was fine and no big deal, but I'm not surprised that they would resort to that, I mean they are money hungry that MTA. its just absurd how much they are charging on the train and off the train

MTA consistently late bus and or bus does not show up

For the past two days 21-22 Dec 2010, the 08:28 am bus to the VA hospital did not show up and the riders had to wait for the 08:44 am bus and the 08:44 am bus is consistently late. This has been an ongoing problem and the bus drivers and the B70 bus line supervisor should be put on warning. It is brutally cold outside and I should not have to wait over 35 minutes for a deliquent bus. If you want to raise the fare, provide decent service and the fare increase won't hurt so badly.

The schedule says a bus should show up every 8-10 minutes, but its usually a wait of 20-40 minutes every morning. Trying to plan a trip, or even commute to work, is a huge hassle! I've tried to take the bus a few times on the weekends, and it shows up every 30 minutes or so, but that should not be the case when I'm taking it during rush hour! The bus drivers are non apologetic, and there are no signs posted stating the bus will not be running late.. so please be on time!

MTA reckless driving

At around 8:30PM, I was crossing the street on my light, driver on bus was making a left onto 61st from 39th Av. Rather than stopping, he proceeded with his turn. I did not realize he did not stop till my husband pushed me forward and onto the ground to keep me from getting hit. Driver and passenger looked at us in shock. When I ran to his final stop up the block (Roosevelt & 61) to demand an apology and his badge number, he said, "You didn't get hit, so what's the problem? Call the cops if you want my badge number, lady." I called the cops and filed a complaint. Driver was on bus #3636, license plate #M14153, route #56.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth M.

On queens blvd around 7:10am on 9/16/21 a bus driver in an act of what I would call recklessness and retaliation Cut in front of me with the bus he was driving almost hitting my vehicle not because I did anything wrong to him prior but, because I changed lanes carefully and consciously and he interpreted that as a wrong doing. I know I didn’t put him or anyone in danger but, he decided to do as I described above. I will report this incidence and take it to the max so no one gets hurts! He’s a danger to society and himself! MTA disrespect from bus driver

I am a passenger who happened to board the BX 21 at 9:05 am at Jerome Avenue and East Gunhill Road on the morning of Tuesday Nov. 16th, 2010. The Bus no. on the inside was 535. The Bus driver who happened to be a short Mexican or Latino individual or who can probably pass for one from either ethnic group embarrassed me. I attempted to ask if that bus would have stopped at Maclean Avenue. Actually before I started the question he supposedly was suspicious for whatever reason and with a loud enough voice exclaimed, NO! NO! NO!. I was surpised as I began to wonder what was he saying NO! to. I never even started the question and he was saying NO! hard enough for other passengers to hear who kept staring at me. Shamefully I proceeded and asked if the bus would have stopped at Maclean Avenue and then he quietly said yes. I know there are those who ask for free rides but as he had assumed for whatever reason I was asking for a free ride just didn't prove him right. I was left to wonder how could he be doing a service to the public with such a preconceived bias attitude and still expect others to treat him right. As far as I'm concerned it would be good to take him on some ethical and anger management course informing him that passengers are the ones who keep him in the job and he must never walk around with such racial and judgemental attitudes. I perceive this is his general attitude when he sees people with my skin color. Please counsel him about the way he treats the passengers who help him to maintain a daily job at the MTA. Thanks and very much appreciate your help as I prefer to be silent with my name but I left my number. The Bus # on the inside was 535.

MTA poor service

The LIRR has a stated schedule for rush hour train service. For those of us who work in the city and live on the island, we must depend on them for some sort of stable service. In the past few months, they have made a regular practice of cancelling the 5:19 train to Wantagh. The announcer assures us the we will be "Accommodated" by the 5:24 local. This practice of cramming two train loads of passengers into one train creates unsafe crowding on the platform, and a stampede when the track is announced. If other trains were cancelled as well on a regular basis, we could just blame their normal level of incompetence, but this steady pattern points to a serious lack of concern about their customers.

MTA rude q37 bus passengers

Ugh. What is wrong with people? Seriously, something is wrong with people these days. So this morning I was on the Q37 bus. Everyday I see people in a shoving/racing match to get off the bus ASAP once it reaches the last stop. I always get caught in it and get shoved and every morning I wonder what the heck people are rushing for especially since the moment they get off the bus, they move at a snail's pace. So what's the rush? Anyway, so this morning as we pull into the last stop, I was situated at the front of the bus. If I didn't move, I was going to get trampled by all the people who love to engage in the "Race Off The Bus." We JUST pulled into the stop. The door JUST opened. I started to move. I guess I didn't move fast enough because before I knew it, I had an indian woman to my right already elbowing and shoving me and then someone else behind me with their hand on my back pushing me. Oh My God ... what the heck?! So I paused and said "hey! don't push!". Well the indian woman had the audacity to claim that I pushed her. Hmm yeah ... I think someone was on the bottle a little too early this morning because it didn't go down like that. Then she started all kinds of cussing. I said "It's early in the morning ... it's the LAST STOP of the bus ... we're all getting off the bus ... why do you have to push?!" All she kept saying was "you pushed me! I deserved to get off the bus first!" And of course after getting off the bus ... she walked at a snail's pace. People ... what the heck? I mean seriously, why do people feel the need to shove? For heaven's sake ... it was the last stop of the bus. The bus driver isn't going to lock you on the bus and not let you off if you aren't off within 5 seconds of the doors opening. There wasn't even a train in the station by the time we all got down there ... the platform was full of people. *shakes head* Good Lord.

I just don't get it. The sad thing is, this is going to happen all over again tomorrow. and the day after that, etc.

Honestly its not just the shoving. In actuality the bus service itself lately leaves a lot to be desired. Lets talk consistency...well its consistently late and during rush hour this service has 2 buses coming at the same time instead of spaced out as it should be. This morning. I just missed 2 that passed and waited 30 minutes. By the time I got to Liberty Ave there were 4 more buses one right after the other. Pity the poor fools that had to wait if they missed any of those. This is a pattern "Where are the Supervisors" one supervisor I met was in denial " they have 23 minutes to get to Union turnpike" NEWS FLASH...ITS NOT HAPPENING... The line supervisors and bosses need to be accountable to their customers. They are there to provide a service and monitor their drivers, all of which they are doing nada!

MTA rude bus driver

I take the bx34 bus every morning five days a week for the last 4 years, bus drivers are usually nice, but for the past few months this new driver is very rude. I feel very uncomfortable taking the bus every morning. First which is very important, I do not want to be late for work, he leaves few minutes earlier, I had times that I was only waiting for the street light and he would drive past me and would't wait after I wave to him like crazy, he hurries to get the light and cares less about his customers who ride with him every morning. Second, he never looks at passengers coming in the bus or even greeting them with a simple hello or goodmorning, and I ride with him every day, very rude. This morning I arrive at the bus stop after just crossing the street and he runs off in front of me, I couldn't believe it, I wave and try to make him stop, luckily my friend was in the bus and asked him to stop for me accross the street. When I go in he even has the right to yell at me that he will never wait for me, and other rude things, and he was leaving 2 min. Earlier. Unbelievable! I wish I never have to ride with him again! I take the bus bx34 at woodlawn, katonah ave, ny, at 9:00am, I don't know his badge #. Please try to do your best to accomodate your passengers.

The q29 has been horrible as of late. There has been construction at the woodhaven blvd underpass for 3 weeks and the mta has done nothing to add buses to the route to accommodate the massive back ups. My 10 minute bus ride has been taking 40 minutes because there is not a bus to be found. It's unreal. This has been going on for 3 weeks. Is the dispatcher that stands on Hoffman rd unaware of the issue?

IT IS UNACCEPTABLE WHEN BUS DRIVERS TREAT PASSENGERS LIKE THAT! MY STORY IS THE SIMILAR. ON MONDAY, JANUARY 24, 2011 FROM 8AM I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE Q29 BUS AT THE CORNER OF DRY HARBOR RD. AND 83RD STREET, MIDDLE VILLAGE, NY 11379. APPROXIMATELY 8:10AM ONE BUS, WITH ONLY FEW PEOPLE INSIDE, PAST ME BOUND TO WOOD HAVEN BLVD. I WAIVED AND TRIED TO MAKE HIM STOP, BUT BUS DRIVER IGNORED ME. IN 3-4 MINUTE NEXT BUS PAST ME AND ALSO NEVER STOPPED AT THE BUS STOP. IT IS NOT FIRST TIME WHEN BUS DRIVERS NOT RESPONSE FOR THE DIRECT REQUEST TO STOP. CAN YOU IMAGINE IT? Q29 BUS SERVICE THAT I USUALLY USE, BECOMES WORST AND WORST. IT IS HORRIBLE, NOT PICK UP PEOPLE FROM THE BUS STOP IN EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER AND SNOWFALL! I THINK THAT MTA NEEDS TO TAKE IN CONSIDERATION THIS ISSUE AND STOP THE SABOTAGE OF DRIVERS.

MTA hit and run

I was on 3rd avenue, between 33rd and 34th street, today, may 5th, 2010 at about 3:35, waiting for the light. A bus was double parked on the right, waiting for another bus to pull away. I was on the left of this waiting bus. At the turn of the light, instead of waiting for the bus in front to move, this bus#8539 or 8534, moved out of its spot, leaving me with no room to move. As it pulled out and away, it struck my car on the right and continued driving.
My car has been damaged. As of now, it is at the repair shop and I have a rental. I am not only very upset at the callous manner of driving by a public transportation, but also the fact that the driver continued to drive away, after hitting my car.
As a responsible citizen of this city, a teacher who sets high standards on herself, as well as the students, I am, needless to say, very disappointed. This is an added on expense for me, that rightfully, should be paid by the mta.
As for the driver, he/she needs a refresher course on how to drive on the streets of manhattan.

MTA mta 62 bus this morning @ 630am

At T/P/O 530 am I left my house and waited for the B62 on the Bus stop on the corner of Wythe and Ross Street which never came until 625. I found out that the past bus (b62) had taken a different route which went thru Bedford. I wanted to know why( the People) were not informed about this earlier? These bus drivers could make their own rules whenever they want too?
This isn't RIGHT and I want to know WHY?
