MTA Bus driver service

Every time I take the 17 bus on Saturday’s this particular driver refuse to pull up to the curb although he see a few of us with canes waiting to board the bus instead he pulls up in the middle of the street,so we have to get down from the curb and struggle to get on the bus because he refuses to lower the bus this the second time I spoke to him about it not lowering the bus for us to get on and he acts like he don,t care bus # 7785,heading to crown heights Eastern parkway,at around 4.39pm today 7/01/23 ,driver need to be retrain on American disability Act.

Desired outcome: Inforce drivers to follow the rules when comes to assisting the disabled

MTA B8 Brownsville Bus #424 not stopping...

Usually, I'm not the type to make complaints about anything but this was really upsetting...Bus #424 at around 2:35 at the AveD/Nostrand stop after I flagged him down from across the street at a red light...I knocked on the door to get his attention and as t.he light turned green,...he just looked at me and proceeded to drive off and left me...almost making me late for work...he had enough time to open the door to let me in as he was already at a red light at the bus stop corner.

It was just rude and unprofessional...

MTA Bus driver - badge 9625

Driver under 9625 under the M31 bus, East 84 St and York Avenue stop, route to the west side specifically the morning route around 9:40AM (most recent incident 6/29/23). However she does this every time I take her bus. This bus driver has had customers voluntarily get up and leave the bus because of leaving the bus at a full stop for no reason or announcement for long perdiods of time, will drive extremely slow maybe 1 mile an hour; will stop the bus on green lights-- no one knows why and we all look at each other in frustration. Other bus drivers have advised us to report her due to many passengers getting on other buses due to her lack of driving skills. Someone must investigate this bus driver. We should not take 3x the time to get to our destinations and create traffic in the meantime. I hope someone looks at the footage.

Desired outcome: Replace her or do not let her operate until extra training is provided and her performance is monitored for at least 6 months. There should be an easier way to file complaints about this and posted on more buses

MTA Rude and disrespectful bus driver q64 bus june 26th 2023

On June 26th at approximately 8:05 a.m. the Q64 bus the bus arrived at Parsons and Jewel bus stop. The female drier didn't change the bus sign therefore, the the sign read not in service. When I asked the driver if the bus was in service her supervisor stepped off the bus and she changed the sign, then stated get of the bus and check the sign. I paid my fare and got on the bus. She began an argument with me that started to escalate into both of us getting loud. I asked her to please stop over three times as she continued to shout at me. We went two bus stops and she was in her cabin and started talking about me to provoke a response from me. I stated I can hear you talking about me please stop. She stopped the bus told me to get off my bus i' m not moving. At that point I just got off the bus as the other passengers would have been held up to their destination. As I was exciting the bus she told the passengers i'm not leaving until 8:12 a.M. I'm a senior citizen a cancer patient who was on the way to see the radiation doctor. I believe the female bus driver retaliated again me. Approximately, a week ago there were three teenagers guys who go on the bus. The guys took the bus two stops and got off. This same bus driver accused the teens of smoking drugs on the bus. She engaged other passengers in the conversation to the point two of the passengers stated the guys smoked on the bus. Then the bus driver started talking loudly, about the boys parents and wouldn't stop. At that time I told her the guys didn't smoke on the bus when they got on the smell was so strong the smell was in their clothes. This how the kids get accused of things falsely. On June 26th I also took out a written complaint with a bus driver supervisor after 1:00 p.m. at Parsons on Jewel avenue. Supervisor gave in the report told me I will receive a call. Same day at 14:10 p.m. I was on the phone with my doctor. I received a voice mail message from a General Superintendent Brathwaite MTA the message stated I don't have a phone number for you to reach me I will call you back tomorrow. the telephone number was [protected]. Since June 26th 2023, and it's now June 28th didn't receive a call back

Desired outcome: The bus driver doesn't need to engage the passengers in negative talks. It a form of unprofessionalism. i would like a written apologize from the driver. I am a cancer patient and senior but don't look the part.

MTA People capon on the express bus .

I take the Sim1c . Everyday there are passengers vaping on the bus. Why is the MTA not doing anything about it . Vaping is the same as me as smoking . Why should I be inhaling this discussing chemicals . Even when bus driver announces no vaping they still do it . MTA needs to do better . We pay enough money on express bus .further fare is going up. So do something about it .

MTA Express bus Bxm9 morning route on 59th street

Bus 1423 did NOT stop on the bus stop, but about a bus length away from the stop on 59th and Madison at around 709am. I was walking towards the bus, bothered first that it didn’t stop where it should, and I was literally right on the side of the door and he just drove away. Not acknowledging me at all. Thankfully, the BXM8 showed up and I had to wave for her to open the door. I’m now on the 1396 BXM8 heading towards the Bronx. She didn’t look too thrilled either when I signaled her to open the door. I’m a pretty pleasant person to deal with and have a lot of patience. I’m not rude and I say hello and good morning to everyone I meet. If you need someone to teach your staff about common courtesy and etiquette, let me know. I’ll be happy to assist because clearly, some of your employees are either unhappy or are just in it for a paycheck.

MTA Bx34

Bus #8735 was supposed to pickup passengers at Fordham Rd. & Valentine's ave, Bronx stop at 9:30 PM, bus driver saw people and just change the bus sign to "NOT IN SERVICE" & just left with 7 people waiting at the stop. I was waiting since 9:04pm. Later at 9:54 another bus #319 show up and took a 15 minute brake to 10:02 PM one full hour waiting for a bus! this is outrageous.

Desired outcome: Give a correct time if busses going to be out of service or not running. Public should been informed to be able to make an informed choice. NYC streets are too dangerous to be waiting at night time.

MTA Bxm10

Bus is supposed to leave at 12:20am from 24th and Madison, WHICH IS THE LAST BUS! And it’s leaving at 12:05am and leaving several people stranded! TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW! 5/24/23 and 5/25/23! ITS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! You have elderly people who rely on this bus and the schedule please stick to the schedule! It’s the last bus of the night, people are afraid to take the subway!, we purposely pay more money for our safety! We can’t keep paying $60+ for an Uber! we can’t take several trains and buses and have it take us two plus hours to get home! This is our safety and livelihood, for MTA to have an unreliable driver to follow a schedule!

Desired outcome: Please have driver stick to the schedule it is crucial for commuters!!

Apparently this is a common practice that needs to be addressed. They do it in the early morning too. I work overnights and the last thing I need is to wait an another hour or pay Uber like you guys. I really hope it gets better

MTA Bus

At approximately 10:58 on April 29,2023, Bus number 248, Red Hook to Park Slope, plate number AU1933, operator 2373, rear ended our car in bumper to bumper traffic, causing approximately 4 thousand in damage. 911 was called and we filled a police report. But unfortunately traffic was so congested that no one was able to get to us. Driver hit us on purpose and began screaming at us. We were traveling with family to the Brooklyn cruise port in heavy bumper to bumper traffic, and merging into the lane to make a left. The driver pulled up within inches of our car and tapped the driver side front tire. We beeped the horn and the driver began to scream at us. My husband shouted you’re going to hit our car.. traffic began moving extremely slowly and after a few minutes we were able to merge into the lane. We were traveling less than 5 miles per hour, when suddenly we heard our car crunching as the bus driver hit us from behind. Then the driver proceeded to scream at us. We told the driver we were calling 911, she did not wait at the scene.

MTA Bx35 bus

Im on a Bx-35 bus, its 8:40 am im going to work. The Bus driver is stopped UNNECESSARILY at the Grandconcurse stop for 10 + mins. There was no one waiting to board the bus, there was no one that needed to exit the bus. Because this Bus driver UNNECESSARILY stopped at this stop for NO REASON I was reprimanded and giving a write-up by my job for being late to work, for which if the bus was stopping/moving as its suppose too I would not have been.

Desired outcome: My desired outcome is that Mta Buses ONLY stop at Bus stops for 3-reasons, 3-reasons only. 1-someone is exiting the bus, 2-someone is getting on the bus, 3-red light. Sitting at Bus stops for NO REASON is both FRUSTRATING and confusing.

MTA 6 train conductor

This conductor constantly speaks and has each car PA volume on maximum... There is never even a 10sec break from his announcements. Far off the deep end from the standard script announcements for any conductor, this gentleman is intent on being remembered for his ceaseless and high decibel sentiments.

Example:

""Good Morning, beautiful people on this train. Next stop – Next stop is Grand Central…. 42nd Street. And on behalf of the train crew, we wish you… a beautiful, happy, uplifting… Thursday morning.""

10seconds later...

""Good morning, good morning – beautiful people on this train. Next stop, next stop is 33rd street. Step all the way OUT. Step all the way IN. Stand clear of the closing doors.""

10 seconds later.

""Beautiful people on this train – please make sure to take all your personal belongings with you. And on behalf of the train crew, we wish you a beaitufl, safe, uplifting… Thursday morning. This is 33rd street. Step all the way out. Step all the way in. Stand clear of the closing doors please.""

Rinse and repeat... for every stop, in every tunnel segment.

I strongly recommend transferring him to another line. Perhaps off the IRT lines entirely.

Fellow Riders... role their eyes, grimace, hold their ears, and shake their heads. I'm not alone in this.

It would be more tolerable if he didn't have the output volume on maximum.

MTA Eating on the express bus

February 22nd BXM11 express bus 1456 heading towards Manhattan the female passenger actually argues with the driver because he asked people what stop they are getting off at case a detour is needed. Driver handled the situation correctly but what's terrible is eating on the bus and that's what the female was doing. Eating a big pizza and smelling up the entire bus and the driver not to argue with her so she wouldn't act up. Something needs to be said about eating.

MTA Bus b46 number 5501

At approximately 2:17 I was at the b46 bus #5501 at the kings plaza stop waiting to get on the bus it was a rush of people getting on the back and the middle entrance of the bus so I ran to the front.. as I get to the front the bus the bus driver a light skinned woman looks over at me see me standing at the door and refused to open she give me a ugly face and proceeded to driver off It was people behind me that seen what she did and was in disbelief she not only shut us out but we was all embarrassed as abus drivers she should have more respect and a lot more respect to the public

MTA Express bus BxM11

Wednesday january 18, 2023 express bus bxm11. They need to have an announcement even though the signs are posted small about the no eating on the bus just like playing music or movies on cell phones loud. I take the bus 6 days a week and this is becoming a regular problem. Express bus going to manhattan from the bronx no number displayed on bus. Thwaites stop.

MTA Bxm8 bus cancelled.6:00 and 6:10

12/16/2022 I have been riding the BXM8 bus for more than 15 years and get on the bus every day Monday-Friday at Jarvis Avenue at 6:07AM. Just recently, the service has become unreliable. I have never had situations,where the service has been completely cancelled unless there is a bad snow storm. For the second time this week I am sitting on a completely packed Bus and running 30 minutes late. Noticed a previous complaint showing people at White Plains road being bypassed by busses. This is caused by full busses with no seats.

Desired outcome: Please replace the current driver with someone more reliable. I depend on this 6:07 Jarvis AVenue bus and this is the worst service in all of the years riding the BXM8.

MTA BXM8 Express buses not stopping for customers

On Tuesday 12/13/2022, White Plains & Bruckner the 6:19am bus never stopped for the customers, the 6:29am was standing room only (there were over 30 customers waiting outside in 28 degrees temperature for this bus) . the 6:39am finally came at 6:45 again standing room only. Customers were told another bus would come in 5 minutes, Which for someone whose been waiting for a bus for 40 minutes is not a good thing. My husband is a retired MTA dispatcher for 37 years . He said that maybe a fire start wasn't conducted the night before to make sure your buses are not dead in the morning. But I'm guessing gas prices are more important than the customers who pay $6.75 a trip.

MTA Toll booth operator 103rd street station

While traveling with my young son. I swiped him and noticed my card had insufficient funds. The station had only 2 machine and one wasn’t accepting cash and the line was very long for both. I approached the teller who was busy on his phone and distracted of what was going on. I asked I could add value to my card and he refused. Stating that he couldn’t not provide customer service and that I needed to stand in line while my 7 yr waiting inside and if your not aware this likely will be of busier station in transit system my son was overwhelmed and a bit frightened.

Are not allowed to charge metro cards if what is their function. Is it just to seat and play games on phones and watch movies.

I add the operators badge number for reference.

Desired outcome: Appreciate a response and apologies if it’s order. Trying to better understand what booth operators roles and responsibilities are. Because there were 2 NYPD officers for safety. So if they can’t help why are they there

MTA MTA Los Angeles

Theee weeks ago I ran for a MTA bus at Manchester and western at 11:35 at night I got to the window just behind the front door and knocked the driver looked at me then the light it turned green she chose,I REPEAT chose to make the light even though it had just turned green and left me there at eleven thirty at night,,,I was robbed that night,

It happened again last night different location I was late for work,

I'm going to start keeping videos pictures and witness comments and sue for every penny I loose because you people hire people with zero morals and make the wrong decision time after time it's always the decision that helps them

Desired outcome: I keep my disabled card loaded even when fair was free,wy do you have a trip planer option if the bus drivers could careless if you get to your destination, I'm going to all my energy into this sick and tired

MTA MTA Bus Driver #12 Select going to Bay Plaza

Ms Williams: is Reporting this incident that happen 10/18/2022 the time was 12.50pm. On Fordham Rd, the bus driver press on the break suddenly and who were standing fell myself and the elderly lady. The bus driver who is a woman dress in light blue sweater, didn't care to ask if who fell if they need an ambulance. That woman bus driver needs to be fired.

After I get off the bus at Southern Blvd, I call and report to the cops. The cops call the ambulance and they check me to see if am ok..in which am feeling pain in my right hand. My blood pressure was a little high from the fall i get from the MTA bus. But thank God am still alive.

MTA CEO'S President needs to put more seats on the buses in the Bronx. Passengers does not needs to stand up in the bus, but this what happen to me by standing, there were no empty seats on Select 12 Bus period. This not safe for passengers riding the bus standing up.. Elderly people is on the bus too THAT'S standing up. This wrong MTA CEO'S PRESIDENT VERY WRONG. Put more seats inside the bus.. STANDING UP IN THE BUS WHILE MOVING THE BUS IS ALWAYS AN ACCIDENT...THAT'S CARELESSNESS MTA CEO'S PRESIDENT...LIVES IS IMPORTANT...AM HUMAN BEINGS ...

Desired outcome: I would just accept apology although am feeling some pain. Put i put ice pack on my right hand that i fell on.

Incident happen 10/18/2022 at Fordham Rd crossing over to webster Ave, the select #12 bus and cross street is Webster. The select 12 bus mark not not in service, but bus driver were picking up passengers. The bus driver press on the break suddenly every one on that bus, was standing fell which am Ms. Williams that fell on the #12 select bus is going my stop is southern Blvd. The Bus driver is a lady that dressed in light blue sweater top. When I was getting off the bus, I said to the bus driver, why u didn't check to see if the passengers that fell gets hurts or needs the ambulance, she just said she didn't know, which that was a lie, she's the one that press on the break to stop suddenly not run the red light. that was the reason why I fell also the elderly lady .. The bus was at the cross street of Fordham Rd and Webster. That is the number 12 select bus going to the mall Baby Plaza.

That was not good for the the elderly fell on top of me and the bus driver said she didn't know, she's a liar and needs to be punish...

My right hand is where I fell on, it is hurting me also my right leg..

I call the police at 1: 45 since i get home to report the incidents on MTA select bus #12 bus that is going to the mall. Now my right Arm is hurting.I tried to call MTA to complain, but not even the MATA Department pick up. This is so wrong to passengers that get hurt on the bus, and the bus driver just drive just continue. The bus driver did not care about the passengers that fell on that bus. because of that bus driver steping on breaks suddenly. And people were standing up, there were no seats empty for me to to sit...MTA NEEDS TO DO A BETTER JOB, BY HAVING PASSENGERS SEATED IN THE BUS INSTEAD OF STANDING UP THAT IS NOT SAFETY ON MTA BUSES IN THE BRONX... THIS IS WRONG MTA...CEO'S PRESIDENT.

MTA bm5 bus to Manhattan

10/6/2022 -- BM5 Express Bus picks up at 6:35 a.m. at Van Siclen and Flatlands Avenues going to Manhattan. Thank God we have our bus driver back today and I got to work on time. Experienced driver who can definitely handle a bus and knows all of the pickups. (Unfortunately, someone complained before and did not appreciate someone who could handle a bus and get everyone safely to work and on time). Just a positive review and shout out to our bus driver to welcome him back instead of a complaint.
