Newegg very poor customer/technical support

Ordered a Gateway DX4870-UR11P from Newegg.com. I wish I read the reviews about this vendor before buying from them because I will never buy anything from them again. I got my order in two days, however, there was a problem. The pc could not detect the wireless signal. The pc was returned for replacement which I waited for 8 days. The second time, the same problem exists. Waiting time to get a live customer support ranged from 20-42 minutes. Only got to talk to the tech support once when the first problem occurred. Never got hold of a tech guy the second time. Frustrated, called Verizon tech support. They recommended to get an adapter to boost signal. Bought one from Radio Shack for $25. It worked wonderfully! I was saved from returning the pc again to Newegg - only had a choice to return for either a store credit or replacement - Newegg's policy of no return for computers sucks but it explains why because after a poor customer service, no one will definitely want to buy from them again. I will not attempt to buy anything from Newegg, because if there is a problem, you're stuck. Help is a long way if you're lucky to find one. I just hope this computer will last long.

Terrible customer service. I ordered 2 things from them. 1) a CPU heat sink, and 2) a Blu ray drive. The heat sink was missing a small pin in the hold down assembly. Their response was for me to send the entire thing back instead of sending me the part. They said they cant help it if something is missing parts. The blu ray drive that many people in their feedback section stated "comes with software", did not come with software. other web sites also stated that it came with software. Their response was I should have read the description more carefully and maybe the 5+ people who said it came with the software put it under the wrong product. And before newegg gives their stock response of "we apologize, contact us", I contacted you on both occasions and was told to bug off.

Newegg false advertising and lousy customer service

Newegg is the only retailer of Microsoft Xbox products that registers the products upon receipt, not when they are sold. This short changes consumers of the full 1-year manufacturer warranty that is inferred prior to purchase. If the product sits in stock for awhile prior to selling, the consumer may receive little to no warranty from the manufacturer at all. I purchased a new Xbox and Kinect bundle and am receiving 60% of the manufacturer warranty. XBox hardware is notorious for failur between months 10 and 12, and I have no coverage for that period of time. It took three separate inquiries on my part over a two week span just to receive a r esponse from Newegg on this issue. The response was "sorry, that is the way it is". Customer service is unresponsive and poor. Invest your money elsewhere and save the hassle.

Newegg lost package apo address

Warning to soldiers and civilians with apo address
If you are a soldier or civilian working overseas for uncle sam and lucky enough to see this before placing an order please consider yourself lucky (I wasnt) and review the following comments and suggestions:

Newegg only offers usps priority mail w/delivery confirmation. That really means tracking may or may not happen (C*p shoot).

They will not offer any other service (Which you would think would be in the best interest of both parties), no insurance (Newegg has some sort of contract agreement I think regarding insurance), no registered mail, no express mail option.

Most apo addressed locations allow for all of the above but you cannot take advantage of any additional services that may better protect your package.

Also warning newegg does not follow the law regarding the customs form requirements. This could cause your package to get hung up in customs maybe even returned to sender.

If your package is lost/stolen, you will be left hanging for at least 6 weeks before you can submit a claim, then you have another 10 days at least to wait before you can get refunded or ask to reship.

Do not ask to reship. I repeat do not ask to reship. Why? Because if they reship then they base your warranty period on the original invoice. So basically though you never got the items the first go your warranty is already out of date!

If you do decide to place an order do not order all on same invoice. I would suggest breaking the order down into max 1, 000.00 really 500 would be better.

(I screwed up and had a 3800.00 dollar order, somebody hit the jackpot and since it had no customs form the only one who knew what was in the box was an employee located at the tenn warehouse, hmmmm, I bet that somebody pulled the jackpot prize from the pallet before it got shrink wrapped and the manifest applied to it, and didnt report that it was removed. That is why it probably showed shipped from usps as the postal worker only scanned the manifest and not each package shrink wrapped on the pallet).

I think the odds of all packages being lost slim. You will only be out 1, 000 or 500 bucks till getting a refund which takes forever to complete.

If you ordered and item and it does not show up in 2 weeks, start filing complaints with the usps inspector general, military postal service etc. None of this will do you any good but hopefully if this is a re-occuring problem maybe with enough compliants they may discover where and who is the cause of the missing packages...

Agreed. They are ripping Military and DoD civilians off and blaming the military (MPS). I ordered a laptop on Nov 25th, was charged over $37 for shipping (USPS for this would be around $12) plus a "rush processing" fee. It is Christmas and it didn't show up. USPS tracking number provided says the Post Office hasn't even received it yet. I ship packages from the USA regularly with other vendors within 2 weeks and they always have appropriate tracking, even car tires that weigh over 100 lbs. with no issue.

Newegg double billed

Add me to the list of NewEgg complainers. I bought a laptop for my husband for Father's day and spend almost $500. NewEgg processed it through to my account twice, over 6 minutes apart. No, I did not hit send twice, or I would have 2 laptops now. I have been dealing with their "customer service" deparment who keeps reiterating that I need to be patient and they're sorry, but it can take 2-3 or more days to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, the money sits in the pending area of my checking account waiting for someone from their accounting department to "take a look at it". I'm sure if it was their money, the process would be a LOT quicker.

Newegg one more newegg refuses return stating serial number does not match their record

Warning:

Do not order anything from newegg.

I ordered lenovo thinkpad 43n3423 500gb 7200 rpm 16mb cache 2.5"sata 3.0gb/s internal notebook hard drive.

Few days later, I received a toshiba internal notebook hard drive with a receipt (Printed the lenovo product that I ordered).

I thought toshiba might manufacture some accessories for lenovo.

I returned the toshiba product with the reason"the size does not apply to my notebook."

A week later, newegg informed me as below:

Your rma (Rma number: [protected]) return was received and sent to our inspections department for closer examination.

Unfortunately, the item (S) you requsted for rma was not what we received.
This rma was issued fpr item [protected] nbhd 500g lenovo
Serial number 1s43n3423pbwmm86.
We received simalar item but with
Serial number 32f4p0xhtqk4, newegg has not history of this item belonging to newegg. This item will not be accepted and will be returned.

For further assistance, we recommend contacting the manufacturer directly to see if they can offer repair or replacement of the item (S) under manufacturer warranty. Please use the following link to find the contact info for any manufacturer whose items we carry: contact manufacturer.

We greatly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for your patience and understanding. The item (S) are currently being shipped back to you and should arrive in approximately 5 - 10 business days.

I never have toshiba products in my apartment.

I have not ordered any accessories for my notebook for more than one year.

I packed this toshiba something into its original package right after I unpacked it, and returned it to newegg.

So, if I really follow newegg's instruction, would toshiba accept this wrong item and send me a lenovo?

I did not take pictures of the packed-with-newegg-receipt item.
Well, they can still deny it.

Since the proof of mistake is held in newegg, they can conduct whatever process they want.

Do not buy from newegg or you would probably get non-newegg something and lose your money.

I will not accept this toshiba something that they ship back to me until they tell me where it came from.

There are more negative reviews online. I sincerely hope mr. Fred chang not to dishonor our mother country.

After several communications, newegg still replies that non-newegg toshiba something, not my refund, is coming to me.

Recently I checked the consumer forums in China. The Chinese people are going through the same problems as people in the U.S.A. I read lots of complains about Newegg in China. Although China still desires Taiwan, I, as a Taiwan person, feel sorry for Chinese people.

I already did it. Thank you, though. I am waiting for my money back.

Update by oitension

Then Newegg has sent me different e-mails:
The first one is, Newegg is going to let me return the item.
And then, Newegg is going to refund me.
The latest one is, Newegg has verified that Toshiba something belongs me Newegg. However, Newegg will try to send me a replacement (Lenovo) first. If there is no stock, Newegg would refund me. So, Newegg still neglects my choice from my very first return request: refund.
So, what is Newegg going to do? Anyone? Anyone?
I am not sure how serious Newegg's disease is.
I just want my e-mail box simple and clean.

Newegg market place

Really bad customer service. I purchased an item from their market place (Third party seller) incorrect item was sent. I called newegg and they said just refuse the packages and once the shipper get the item back I will be issued a refund. Well I did that and 10 days after shipper received the item back still no refund. So I called newegg back and they said just file a paypal dispute then to receive refund. I did and promptly got a refund. But now month later I find out they have suspended my account because of the dispute and will not release my account until I revers the dispute. You can't revers a dispute once closed. So newegg will never let me buy from them again.

Newegg newegg needs to take a look at their return policy

I spent close to $2, 000 with your company to build a system for a client...
Never worked...many errors. After much troubleshooting, determined it was a bad
stick of RAM (computer memory). Three of the contacts were damaged.
I opened an RMA and specifically mentioned the damage to the rep on the phone.
Was told it would be no problem. I sent back the memory and they denied the RMA. I was informed that
they do not accept damaged RAM...It arrived damaged! They are sending me back the damaged items and have told me to take it up with the manufacturer.
I've been working in IT for 20 years and have built many systems so I am no amateur. I am a qualified IT professional and I have numerous certifications. Obviously, I take every precaution when dealing with sensitive computer
components so it was NOT damaged by me.
I ended up purchasing more memory in the meantime to make client happy but now
I'm out $ because NewEgg will not honor the sale they made to me.
I am not a bad person and I am not running some type of scam to get something
for nothing. I am an honest customer who feels like I am in a definite catch-22
situation. The memory that I received from this company was damaged (defective)
and I would just like to get it replaced.
I called their customer service and got the run around. I was told by the rep who I spoke with that the RMA rep denied that I had disclosed the damage to her. I spoke with a supervisor and got nowhere. After I told the supervisor that I would never use purchase anything ever again from NewEgg, I was offered a $20 gift card for use towards my next purchase (?). Did she even listen to me?
I wish I would have checked out this site before I ever darkened the doors of newegg.com. Definitely seems like shady dealings. Isn't the purpose of an RMA to replace damaged items?
I've posted negative tweets and commented on their facebook page. I got a reply asking for more info but haven't heard anything back.
In the meantime, I've lodged complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.
I would not recommend this company to my enemies let alone friends.

UPDATE: After posting on newegg.com's facebook page, I was contacted by a representative from the company. His title is Public Image Professional.
I wrote an email to him explaining my predicament in greater detail. He stated that he reviewed the account and "it was notated that the item was already defective when you received it". He decided to make an exception to their policy in my case and they approved the RMA. Replacement product has been ordered and is on the way.
I am satisfied with the outcome but still unsatisfied with their policy of automatically denying any claim of damage on RMA's.
As I've been told, this is the policy of many of the online retailers. I think I'll just stick to brick and mortar vendors, like Fry's Electronics (who have their own set of issues, I know)... but at least you can inspect the product somewhat before you get to the checkstand.
Thanks again for the feedback.

Update by Lagunaduo

Thank you for your response.
You are not the only one who has had an opinion on HOW the memory was damaged.
My issue is not that I received damaged memory or how it was damaged. Being a qualified IT professional, I understand that these things happen.
My issue is the time and hassle that I am experiencing from NewEgg as I specifically informed the representative of the damage when opening the RMA and was still told to return the product to NewEgg, apparently against their own policy. Once they received it, they then deny it. I was forthcoming with the damage in the beginning and had the initial rep informed me that there would be an issue, I would have gone the manufacturer RMA route and would probably have a replacement by now.
It is nearing 2 weeks since the initial call and I still do not have either new nor defective RAM in my hands.
You can understand my frustration, I'm sure. Thanks again for your comment, though. It is nice to hear others' opinions of my predicament.

Newegg-proper is still OK, but ... Major problems with the Newegg Marketplace. If you get cheated in Newegg Marketplace, Newegg won't help. You're on your own. Newegg is not Amazon! Quoting their policies they told me: "The product was sold and shipped directly by the seller. Newegg is simply a platform." So now they're just a "platform" to send product...

Newegg rebate not accepted

I purchased 2 Corsair 2x8gb mac memory ram kits while it was on sale with rebate. After I purchased the ram and submitted the rebates, Corsair rejected one of the rebates and said to contact Newegg about the problem. After contacting Newegg several times, they told me that they cannot do anything about it and that it was my fault. I currently have both kits of ram and am stuck paying the regular price on one of the kits. I am outraged by the lack of assistance Newegg offered me with the rebate and the severe lack of respect they have shown me throughout this problem. I do not advise people to purchase from new egg especially if there purchase includes rebates.

Newegg customer service

I purchased 4 MB of RAM in 2 circuits from Newegg. After I installed them my computer would not boot. I shut it off and open up the cabinet and 1 of the circuits was red hot. That one was defective, but the other one works.

I returned the defective circuit to Newegg and asked for a replacement. Newegg refused to send me a replacement. They claimed I damaged the circuit. I did not. Apparently Newegg has a bad reputation when it comes to standing by their products. My next stop is to register a complaint with the Better Business Bureau

Anti-SEO: How did you know I removed the stickers? A rhetorical question, because the only way you could know that is that you work for NewEgg and you are familiar with the case. I ordered an item for my son and paid with my Paypal account. The day after we expected the item to arrive, Newegg sent an e-mail stating that there had been a problem with the Paypal account and they were canceling the order. I checked with Paypal and my bank and there were no account problems. I have used Paypal for over 1000 transactions with no problems. Finally I discovered that it was not Paypal that was the problem but that I was providing a PO box address for shipping. I checked my records and I have always used my PO box address for puchases with Newegg in the past. We have a unique situation where we live that does not allow for street delivery and we explained this to Newegg. They wanted me to change my Paypal shipping address even though they stated "Your order will not be processed if your shipping address does not match your PayPal confirmed address." Most ordering sites will not allow you to enter a PO box number if they don't take them so you know right away to try something else. Newegg waited a WEEK to let us know! Their "customer service" person was extremely RUDE and insulting and unwilling to work with the situation. I asked for a supervisor and was denied. I will not be doing business with Newegg again. It isn't worth the lower price. We ordered the item directly from the manufacturer and it arrived in two days.

Terrible customer service! Was told product would ship out same day of purchase. Three days later the sale had not even been processed. We spoke to four different reps, all who gave us different information. It was apparent they were BS'ing us.we told them they could ship it out 'next-day/overnight' or cancel the order. They immediately canceled the order. NewEgg was just one big hassle! Don't waste your time!

Newegg fraud, bait and switch, false advertising

On 3-30-12 NE advertised "combo deal w/Docking Station Keyboard, limited offer" refurbished TF101-B1 Asus Eee Pad Transformer $369; I clicked it and put it in my cart; I received tablet on 4-3-12; the docking station keyboard was missing. I talked to Gabriel in CS on 4-2-11 who lied and said keyboard was "not included" and I would have to order it separately at $119. this was a blatant "bait & switch" trick and false, fraudulent advertising. I bought the tablet because it included a docking station to be used on the desktop; when I clicked back on it online at newegg.com I discovered Newegg had REMOVED the green lettering "combo deal with docking station keyboard limited offer" I would not have bought a REFURBISHED, except that it included the docking station keyboard

after researching on the web I (complaint boards, ripoff, etc.) I discovered that many other consumers had reported similar complaints with newegg about fraud, false advertising, and specifically where Newegg changes the wording on the item after you have purchased it and then blatantly lies -- denying the words were there when you ordered it.

I have been a loyal customer who purchased THOUSANDS of dollars worth of goods over 4-5 years. I am disgusted that Newegg would do such a dishonest thing as deleting words in the description to defraud consumers. Newegg must have been sold to another group or had a major change of management personnel who are dishonest. I will never buy another product from Newegg and will telll everyone about outright fraud. The customer support is useless; they merely argue and argue and insist the item was not included and the words are not there (yeah! because they deleted the words) newegg has gone downhill from a good co. to a total scam...

Resolution Sought: make Newegg perform its duty under the contract; i.e. mail me the docking station keyboard exactly as advertised...
I am going to challenge the amount charged to my credit card.

My Son ordered a Powercolor RX580 8GB Card. Newegg advertised it as a "gaming card" when in fact it was a re-purposed crypto-currency card. All they would do is to offer a store credit which will be offered AFTER they get the card back of course. He got this today, and it was obvious that the Customer Service Rep knew exactly what he was talking about. The Card is now listed at a higher price, but if you try to view it you got an "item removed" page. Update: Went back again, and now it is advertised as a "Cryptocurrency" Card.
We've been buying from Newegg for years, not anymore.

Newegg shady rma service

I have been a Newegg customer for 6+ years and this is the first time I've had cause to complain. I had ordered several parts for a new PC and everything arrived in a timely manner. After putting everything together though, there was a defect in one of the RAM slots which caused the PC not to boot. After discussing with AsRock technical support, they recommended I RMA the board to Newegg. After shipping the board back to Newegg, they informed me that the serial number did not match the one they sold, telling me that the board did not come from them. There is no information about the serial number they are shipping on the invoice or sales receipt.
I know the S/N on the motherboard box itself matched what they say they sent me, as I have record of my wife telling me that number in a chat. I can only assume the hardware itself has a different serial number. The box did not have shrink wrap, and I do not know if brand new AsRock motherboard boxes have it or not. So basically I sent them back exactly what they sent me, and they say its not what they sent me. There is no way I am able to prove I did not switch out the boards, which seems ###ic in the first place. All the emails and chats I've had with Newegg contain copy/paste responses telling me the exact same thing.
I doubt it would help if I had even checked the S/N's on both the box and the hardware itself, as they can simply say I just switched it out with something else. I am hoping AsRock will be able to actually do something about this, as Newegg has been entirely unhelpful, up to this point, which is extremely disappointing. If they are able to address this issue satisfactorily, I will update this complaint.

She said she would honor my RMA, overnight me the new board, and give me a store credit.

When I first received the board, the BIOS chip was out of date for the CPU I ordered. I needed the S/N for AsRock support to send me a new BIOS chip. She was home at the time and got the # for me off the motherboard box, not the board itself.

Newegg fraud detection

I've ordered my 32 GB of RAM from Newegg 3 times now. Every time, the shipping address is confirmed and the card clears, the order is confirmed. Then, after several hours, they label my account as suspended, cancel the order, and don't deem to call me.

I'm using my American VISA credit card. I'm shipping to my American address. Newegg however, continues to insist that I'm trying to scam them with my real money and my real address. I've already ordered all the other necessary parts from all over the world, Japan, Great Britian Amazon, and the American Amazon. I've had no trouble with anyone but Newegg and all shipments arrived on time, three weeks ago. Except for Newegg, who refuses to box the package and send it.

I've called many times and gotten no help. I've waited in line to speak with their customer service several times. I've emailed them and explained everything, I requested that they call me, and I've not received a call or email. All the help I've been getting is a notification that says my account is suspended again.

I'm very disappointed with Newegg. I have never ordered through them and would not recommend them to ANYONE.

Newegg customer service is a joke

Horrible business practices and Newegg's malfunctioning computer system caused me to have the single most horrific experience with "customer service". It took over 5 days to place an order for a laptop due to
1. they won't contact you until 1 or 2 days later if there is a problem with your purchase, then they do it by email that describes your transaction has been denied
2. Their computer system created another account (the reason for my charge getting denied) when I changed my password and email address, then showed no activity.
3. They cannot and will not work to make your purchase pleasant. If there is a problem, theirs or yours, and they deny your charge, you have to go back through the process of picking out the item and checking out. Even though they can see everything you did to try to purchase, they refuse to serve you by helping the process along with making the purchase active and completing it.
4. You can get nothing to do with a charge completed over the phone (can't talk with accounting). You must wait until the person you call contacts accounting and then they relay to you what accounting says... never good news.
5. If they tell you they are going to do something, don't believe it! At one point in the process, the representative told me they would send me an email update. Never happened. I had to contact them back. Karma got her, because she answered when I called. Then on the 5th day of this ordeal, when everything is worked out, (by worked out, I mean they figured out their system had screwed up and they unfroze my account) they offer to send my $1700 laptop out overnight to compensate me for the hassle and my time. Guess what? Jerks changed it to 2-day and didn't notify me.
I've read on here where someone from Newegg says happy customers are their goal. Don't believe a word of it. When it suits them, I'm sure they do a fair job, but they will not go out of their way to assist you with issues, even when it's their fault.

Let me enlighten everyone to the utterly ridiculous experience I had with Newegg's "Customer Service". Let me start by saying I have never been driven to take my valuable time to post a negative comment about anything on a blog site. It just isn't worth it. Needless to say, this experience was the worst I have ever had with any company at any time. So, I've had an account with Newegg since 2004 or so. On the 23rd of February, I ordered a mouse from Newegg and received it the next day. AWESOME! At that time I had to change my password because I couldn't remember what is was. At about that same date, the company I am going to work for agrees to buy me this nice MSI laptop ($1700). I send them the link for the laptop I want and the office manager orders from Newegg. 2 days later, I get an email forwarded from the office manager that says the order is declined. It appears that an email was sent 1 day after needing verifications or something and the office manager filled it out and thought everything was fine. So, no attempt to contact anyone by Newegg, just an email saying that the order is declined. Arrogant! I call customer service and find out the issue is that supposedly the phone number provided is different than the one on the account. This happened late in the day on the 4th day, so we move to day 5. I now have both possible phone numbers that it can be and phone customer service and provide this to them. The customer service rep tells me that she will forward this to the fraud department or accounting and the office manager should get an email within the hour. We move to day 6, where midday the office manager is contacted via email to say that the account information (phone number) cannot be verified. The office manager has checked and knows that this is not correct and that the correct phone number was given. Newegg has now made me look like an idiot for trying to get my new company to buy from a company that obviously doesn't want their business. So, I am told by the owner of my new company that I will have to buy the laptop and expense it. Day 7, I mull this over and decide that maybe I will try. Could be the office manager is at fault. I've had pretty good luck with Newegg in the past. Day 8, I log in and attempt purchase of the laptop with my Paypal account. I think everything is OK and I forward a copy of the charge to the office manager and think smugly that I could do what she couldn't in a week. Day 9, I get an email stating that my charge has been denied. REALLY! I call and talk with Claudine. Claudine is nice and obviously has some intelligence, because she listens to her customer and probes to see if they (me) have a valid argument. I explain to Claudine the situation and tell her about recent and past purchases and she says there is no activity on the account and that it was created on the 23rd, but no purchases were showing. After about 30 minutes, she finds that there are two accounts, one that was created when I changed my password on the 23rd. So, she tells me that she will talk with accounting and figure out the issue and email me before she left for the day. I didn't get the email, although I honestly believe she thought that someone was going to take care of it in a timely manner. Day 10, my birthday, I get to my computer about noon and no email. I try to login and see a message that my account is suspended. I call customer service and I get Claudine. Before I knew it was her, I start unloading about the issues and she has the account pulled up because she doesn't understand what she did wrong? She has to call me back and we agree that if she doesn't do that within 1/2 hour, I will really let her have it. She calls back 20 minutes later and we stay on the phone another 30 while she works through whatever other issues they have. They did agree to pay for overnight shipping on day 10 of my ordeal, but I'm not really feeling great. I did order again and will see if they will find another reason to try to keep me from purchasing this laptop from them. Meanwhile, the reason I was ordering this laptop was to create a presentation video for an American Petroleum Institute conference is Singapore. My desktop was seriously lacking the punch needed to do this in a timely manner, so it cost me hours of production. The only good I see in Newegg is Claudine. They obviously have issues with their computer system if they can't keep a persons account straight, but the worst is how long it takes to get a response about issues with charging. This is the 21st Century. Join it Newegg. Customer Service cannot take days to resolve anything, with no effort on your part. I can't really tell you why I stuck with trying to make this purchase, but I hope this information will help other consumers by educating them of issues I've had.

Here's an update to this dilemma! So, Newegg offered to overnight my laptop on March 2nd, It is now March 5th and my laptop is sitting in a FedEx Sort facility, so I won't be getting that until tomorrow. I was told to purchase the overnight charge and I would be refunded. I do this and then check the tracking number. This shows that the item was sent 2-day, not overnight. No notification to me.
I call customer support and ask for a manager and get Anna. Anna is nice enough, but you can tell she cares only enough to keep her job. She recognizes the utter stupidity of the situation, but defends everything; she even tried to blame FedEx for the shipping error. She explains that it takes 3-5 days for a refund. When I ask why it takes so long, she replies "What do you expect? We have thousands of customers". My thinking is they must be really, really busy with all the problems they are giving customers. So, at this time, I have been given the contact information of a Mr. Chris J. Bastain, supposedly a supervisor with Newegg. I certainly will not be writing this again, so I will be sending him the link to these posts and I'll let everyone here know if there is any satisfaction to be gained or any good coming from doing business with Newegg. Remember, 13 days so far and no laptop.

Newegg avoid newegg if you're the type of person who wants their coverage plans to be well worth the extra money

Their customer service was good two years ago. Today, I was treated like crap: hung up on during a phone call and ignored in live chat.

My problem: I had a hard drive fail and was told that the "service net replacement plan" I paid for wouldn't replace the item.

They scam you into purchasing replacement plans that have loopholes for everything. I shouldn't be surprised though... the plan has a limitation of coverage for defects due to "acts of God." Seriously?!?!

Avoid newegg if you're the type of person who wants their coverage plans to be well worth the extra money.

Sounds like someone didn't read the fine print. At any rate, your best option is always to exhaust every option WITH THE MERCHANT before slandering their name online.

Newegg ups mail innovations and newegg shipping

NewEgg has lost a customer. I ordered memory for a very good price. Newegg would not ship to my PO Box and this is where I receive all of my mail. Had to enter physical address. Once ordered, the package shipped UPS Mail Innovations. The package actually made it to the post office. However, the post office returned it undeliverable as addressed. Called customer service and explained the situation. CS rep offered a credit for price difference that would only apply AFTER I reordered the memory for the regular price.

Newegg had their chance. They have lost a customer. I have been doing business with them since 2003. Well, no more. UPS Mail Innovations sucks.

Newegg just down right pathetic

My little sister just had her first baby and I wanted to send her a gift. I ordered her a Blue Ray player and a movie from Newegg on 9/27. On 9/28 I received shipping confirmation on the movie and on 9/30 (3 days later!) I received an email stating "having difficulties processing your order" for the player. I called to find out that my bank was fine with the payment but that Newegg wouldn't ship it to the different address. In order for me to have it shipped there I would have to call my bank and have her address put on my account. Or my other option was to have it shipped to myself and then I would have to ship it to her. All i wanted to do was get a gift for my sister! I canceled the order and ordered it somewhere else. I will no longer be buying anything from Newegg and if you don't want a hassle you probably shouldn't ether.

Before Black Friday it was advertised that a 6 cell netbook was to be listed for $199.99 (Acer one) at 03.00 am PST. I received an email from Newegg at 02.42 PST for deals starting at 03.00 hours. There was no netbook listed but I decided to keep checking for it anyway so I kept my Newegg screen open, flipped back and forth on pages to see if it came on...

Newegg return policy

I recently purchased a "refurbished" laptop from Newegg. It was a stock photo, and the description included the latest operating system, so I was in for a shock when I opened the box and found a scratched up beat up laptop that was even older than the one I was trying to replace. In addition, it needs a new battery and sometimes it won't come on, or it goes off immediately, even when it's plugged in.
I contacted customer service at Newegg about returning it. They said I should take it to Apple and have it repaired. They are guilty of false advertising of their products and then not standing behind what they sell.
I will never purchase anything from Newegg again, and I will tell everyone I know about the garbage they sold me for $900. If they won't give me my money back then they are no better than a standard scam artist.

Be careful with Newegg! I was on their email list and offered an i Pad on 10/22/11. The add read original price $729 on sale for $499. Not being i Pad savvy, I thought that at $729 it was the current model. So i bought it for my wife for christmas. I then get an add from Newegg via email on November 26 that the i Pad (1st gen) is now on sale for $429. This was my notice that the i Pad may not have been the current model. I gave the i pad to my wife early and she figured out that it was an i Pad 1st gen. I immediately wrote Newegg on 12/8 and explained that it was a Christmas present that i didn't intend to open, but gave it to my wife early with concerns that it was the wrong machine. After five email exchanges, including sending them copies of the original ad and the ad that came out 35 days latter. Newegg's only response was sorry, you had thirty days to return it. It was like dealing with a very polite robot. I asked them to look at their own adds to consider the difference between the two and how the first was misleading but the answer was always the same--you should have returned it in thirty days--even if it was christmas present bought in October. So beware. Open what you buy from them and make sure it works and is what you want. You have to work fast because their "Customer Service" department is a misnomer. I will not do business with them again.

It's not fair that they said that the price had dropped. Wait, that's true. Well they didn't say it was the iPad, rather than an iPad 2. Wait, they did. This is a very valid complaint. Wait, it's not.

Newegg voided my rma without explanation.

I ordered a new monitor for my PC off of Newegg.com and received a defective product. The monitor simply did not work, when I plugged it in it was just a splash of colors across the screen. I considered the possibility that it may have been damaged in shipping, but the monitor showed no physical signs of damage so I decided to file for an RMA with Newegg. This was a huge mistake, apparently. A few days ago I got an e-mail telling me that my returned monitor had arrived at their facility (same day UPS reported that my package had been delivered) and that the monitor would be inspected shortly. I was told I would get an e-mail within the next few days with an update as to the status of my return. Instead, I get an e-mail today telling me that they haven't received my return (?!?!) and that the e-mail they had sent before was a mistake. I checked the status of the RMA and it is listed as "void." No explanation, what-so-ever, as to why they have suddenly decided to cancel my RMA/claim that they didn't receive it. I find this to be absolutely ridiculous. I used to love Newegg because of all the great deals they offer on computer components, but this seriously makes me wary of ordering anything from them again. What if I get another defective product? $150 down the drain.
