Service technician
I had a service call on a TCL 75 inch panel TV that is no longer under service warranty from PC Richards & Sons or TCL. The service technician was advised prior to coming to my home that this was a TCL TV. When the service technician arrived at my home on October 3, 2023, he said that parts for TCL
TVs were no longer available.
My questions are:
1) If the service technician knew prior to coming to my home that it was a TCL
TV and that PC Richards didn't carry parts for TCL TVs, then why did the
service technician come to my home.
2) If the idea of having a service technician come out is to ascertain the problem and order parts, then why didn't the service technician state that the part needed to be ordered from TCL? Instead the service technician said PC Richards didn't have the part.
My issue isn't with the TV no longer being under warranty or that I had to pay for the service call. My issue is the lack of due diligence on the service technician's part to at least say he needed to contact TCL to see if the part could be ordered and sent to PC Richards.
I have been a loyal customer of PC Richards & Sons for over 5 years. I was considering purchasing a higher quality brand TV from PC Richards, but the service technician's lack of professionalism is problematic. I will purchase a warranty on my next TV purchase, hopefully I'll never need a technician to come out to make repairs.
Desired outcome: An explanation as to why the service technician didn't attempt to find out if TCL had the part and could have it sent to PC Richards.

Samsung TV - extended warranty - store credit - FAIL
I purchased a Samsung 65 tv with the 5 year protection plan, this Tv has been serviced 3-4 times with multiple visits to change the board/panel etc. And then something happens to cause another issue. There is no physical damage on the unit and tech person came and couldn’t figure out the cause. The tv was inoperable, I asked to see if I can get credit and just purchase a whole new one because this has been such an inconvenience and waste of time on either parties. Finally, they said they will give me credit to buy a new one. Great right, so I went in and selected a new model and purchased the 5 year protection on it because you never know, don’t want to have the same thing happen. I scheduled delivery and waited. In the meantime, the tv that we had doesn’t work so I threw it out and waited for the new one to arrive to put up. The delivery people come, bring the tv to my house and they are expecting the old tv to pick up. I was never told that they would need the old tv, I threw it out because it wasn’t working. What is the sense of keeping up a tv that doesn’t function, if I had been told that they need it as part of the transaction then I would have left it until they arrived. The delivery calls the store and I speak to the manager where he tells me that is the process, I explained to him nobody told me that, they just said they would provide me store credit to purchase a new tv, nothing was said about the broken one. I wasted my time and the delivery, told them I obviously don’t have the tv that I threw out so I can’t give you what I don’t have. I asked to refund my additional charges. Not satisfied, horrible customer service and setting expectations.
Desired outcome: Call me and give me a resolution.
LG Refrigerator
First service call was on 8/17/2023 to service a non working ice machine and temperature fluctuations causing food to melt in the freezer. New ice machine and panel for freezer ordered. Second service call was on 8/29/2003. Ice machine and panel replaced. But the refrigerator portion was not keeping temperature and food was spoiling. Service tech stated it was the fan and that the new ice machine would not work until the fan was replaced. After repeated phone calls to customer service checking on the part, and limited assistance from them; I called the corporate office on 9/20/20203. Low and behold, the part arrived on 9/22/2023, with service scheduled for 9/27/23. We have been without a refrigerator for over a month and a half. We have full coverage with the extended warranty we purchased. This refrigerator and it should have been replaced weeks ago! As an appliance company, P.C. Richards is taking no responsibility for our loss of product and use of our home refrigerator. The service or lack thereof, is completely unacceptable! I wonder if anyone in the company would stand for a month without a their refrigerator!
Parts arrived damaged for the 9/27 service call. Customer service issued a full credit towards the purchase of a new refrigerator. New refrigerator was delivered on 9/29.

We are officially aggravated! Three missed days of work, three different service men, three failed attempts to repair our fridge! Wrong parts ordered, no phone calls that parts are in, a year later, and your companies employees lying about phone calls never made. A ten year contract that has been nothing but a stall for repairs! We are now told that they need to send ANOTHER REPAIR MAN! There goes another day off, how convenient for your employees and myself! I want to know what it’s going to take to fix the doors on my fridge! We were denied a replacement and yet, nobody can seem to fix the issue we have! Please tell me how we should resolve this issue? Somebody needs to address the dissatisfaction in your Bellmore, NY store.

Service warranty for Frigidaire
Back and fourth for 3 months for a simple repair, fixing a ice marker. Wrong parts , wrong diagnosis, ordered part missing. If I request that a certain tech not come back to my house, why do you guys send him back and he calls my phone to taunt me? Please i need my fridge fix, send someone who knows what their doing not someone with a title, if you cannot fix my fridge, please just replace it, problem would be resolved much faster.

This has not been resolved, PCRICHARDS my fridge is not fixed, bottom line this company hired a bunch of fake Techs to honor warranty they know the Techs cant fix anything, when customer get fraustrated on your Techs inability to fix appliances, you offer new product then tell them to pay the extra. Your service warranty should be called Service Frustration not Service warranty. How do you take people money for Service warranty and scam them, this is not right, but I leave your company in the hands that control all things and is the final judge.

Refrigerator
To Whom It May Concern, I bought a refrigerator almost a month ago that worked only four days. I contacted customer service about the situation and I was told in order for the refrigerator to be exchanged I would have to wait for a manufacturer refund which took a week and a half and of course my food started to go bad. The second refrigerator that came didn’t work at all. So of course I have to wait again for a manufacturer ok in order for me to get another refrigerator which too another week and a half and of course more food went bad. When the third refrigerator came the first thing the delivery guy notice that the refrigerator was smelling bad. When I eventually look in the refrigerator to check if it is working I noticed that the large drawer that belongs in the top of the refrigerator is missing. I called the store to let them know what I discovered but I was told the salesman was gone for the day. Now this is additional dilemma. When I eventually spoke to the salesman he told me the delivery man told him the refrigerator drawer was there at the time of delivery. I really had to keep calm and patient with this situation/dilemma because of my Autistic daughter who couldn’t understand why the New refrigerator that was bought didn’t work Twice. It was hard for her to understand that. Now she is asking when the refrigerator doesn’t have the big drawer. I am beyond frustrated. Please can anyone who cares contact me. [protected]

I am very angry and frustrated by how my situation was handled. I was told to wait 24 hours for the fridge to work it never happened. You have to wait 72 hours for the manufacturer to okay the exchange. Three refrigerator later the big drawer never came in it. Who could possibly make that up?

worst experience ever! Driver never showed up, was rude and insulted me when he did pick up, mocked me and hung up on me. he lied about coming to my house, and no one being there. We had to throw out our food, and insulin. and all he did was laugh and make fun of the fact that he returned to the warehouse with my deliver...i waited a whole day for nothing!

We have purchased 2 refrigerators, a built in microwave, oven, dishwasher and many small appliances from this man. I have an issue with the installation that we paid $288 for on the installation of the dishwasher. We had to hire another person and it turned out it was never screwed into the brackets. One was found under the dishwasher and the other still attached. The installer cut the hose during installation and did not replace it. He also had a shorter hose then required and hooked the hot water hose to the cold water spicket as that was the one it reached. I have contacted the salesman on july 27, august 15th, august 17 and august 21 via text which he had responded to when we were buying. We have advised him to have the manager contact us or to provide his/her name, but nothing from him. At this point we have decided to file a small claims action in court as he is worthless to us. So we bought well over $10000,00 worth of appliances from pcr and this how your store treats us. If i do not hear back on this, i will file this monday in th eunion county court system. He knows we are looking at a temperpedic mattress and 2 large screen tv's. With service like he is providing, we will take our business elsewhere. So sad that i must write this complaint. placed the order on June 6th. still waiting for my refrigerator. Aug 19th, they came with the fridge but needed installation services. Installation was not attempted by installer.
On Saturday 8/5/23 we had our new Samsung washer delivered by PC Richard's. It was supposed to be installed and the old machine picked up. When the installer looked at the wall connections he told us that they were too old and could be frozen in place. They would likely crack if he attempted to remove the old ones to replace. He told us that he would not be able to install new washer because he couldn't remove the old one. The installer told me us to call a plumber. He and his partner then departed. The only plumber we could find to immediately come on Saturday was Roto Rooter. When the plumber arrived he immediately accessed the situation and said that the old ones needed to be removed but he did not think the pipes nor the faucets were frozen. He told us that just the assessment alone was 517.00 and the labor and parts and tax it would come out to approximately 590.00. I had to approve because I had no choice. When he got back with the new fixtures he turned off the main water line and immediately removed the old fixtures. The copper pipe and threads were immaculate they looked brand new. I was livid! He told me that since the installers are not usually plumbers, they sometimes make outlandish claims. He quickly replaced the new fixtures and he installed my new washer within minutes. I helped him drag the old machine to the garage and also helped him bring the new washer in place. He turned the water back on and the washer worked beautifully with no leaks. We are very disappointed that your company sent us installers that quite frankly have no idea about plumbing. We had to dip into our savings to pay him the exorbitant amount for a 15 minute job!
Desired outcome: We want some compensation to help us reduce our burdon.

Samsung 4 door Bespoke refrigerator
Purchased a Samsing 4 door Bespoke refrigerator..I love the refrigerator , my problem is I ordered 4 charcoal glass door panels..I received 3 glass panels and a stainless steel bottom panel..Salesperson promised I would receive the bottom glass panel in a week or two..This is going on since end of May 2023. I have called many times, with no return calls..my husband went into store and was told the panel was never ordered. A manager claimed he was going to order it. Meanwhile its on my receipt.. Refrigerator
I purchased this fridge back of last year December and also warranty. I called three months ago to replace the rubber on the fridge. Which took a long time to receive. Know a month ago 6/1/23 I called PC Richard to tell them the fridge don't close. They tell me it's going to take some time it's been three weeks now and still no rubber and my food Is spoiling fast. Food is very expensive these days. I do what's going on they tell me it's in process.
Desired outcome: I would like compensation for the food that I've lost during this 3 weeks of waiting for a rubber gasket for my fridge.
Lousy ac installation
My 83 year old mother purchased an AC in 2018 with 5 yr warranty. It was badly installed! Nothing was sealed and birds moved in between the wall and the AC, and the outside sleeve did not even have silicone around the sleeve!
I just found out about this when my mother tried to discourage me from purchasing my own AC from a PC Richard store nearby. I am outraged at the service provided to my 83 year old mother! This is where she has been purchasing all her appliances for years!
I called customer service on 6/30/23 and got the run around from an agent who never got back to me, and I called again today 7/7/23 and was told nothing can be done now, so tough luck! I am absolutely disgusted! After she spent upwards of $1800 I would have expected better service! Regardless of how long it's been, if this company stands by its customers and products I would have expected a better outcome! My mother is 83 and needs her AC! At her age she is not going to turn it on if she hears noises in it! I will never purchase anything at this store again, and I will make sure to tell anybody who will listen!
Desired outcome: Having just discovered this issue, all I wanted was for them to do was to have someone come in and take a look at what was previously done and make it right by installing the brackets the way they were supposed to!

This company is the worst. I recently purchased a washer/dryer from them and made it very clear what I needed. I wanted a frontload machine with 110 voltage and I even had it written down on my receipt. I also requested that they haul away my old machine. However, when the PC Richard installer arrived, they brought a top load machine with 230 voltage and didn't take my old machine with them. I was extremely frustrated and had to call customer service more than 10 times before someone finally took care of my situation.
To make matters worse, they didn't have any washer/dryer machines in their warehouse. I was told that they would receive a delivery of 10 machines and that I would receive one. I waited and waited, but no delivery came. I called again and after several attempts to get customer service on the phone, I was told that there was no delivery scheduled for me because the machine was damaged. If I hadn't called, I would have waited all day for nothing.
Then they offered me a demonstration model, but they couldn't give me a delivery day or time because they had no time slots available. This has been going on for a week now. PC Richards has all my money (I paid for the first machine completely when I made the purchase) and they are neither able to provide me with a new machine nor give me my money back.
I am extremely disappointed with this company and their lack of customer service. It's frustrating to have to call multiple times just to get a response and then to be told that they can't deliver what I need. I would not recommend PC Richard & Son to anyone looking to purchase appliances.
PC Richard & Son's Mistake with Shipping Bolts - Frustrating Customer Service Experience
I recently made a purchase at PC Richard & Son and I must say, the ordering process went pretty smoothly. I decided to buy a washer and the guys who came to install it did a decent job. However, there was one issue that really got me frustrated.
After they installed the washer, they removed the shipping bolts, which is the right thing to do. But instead of leaving them with me, they took them away. Now, I'm trying to install a pedestal and the first thing I need to do is to install the shipping bolts and tip the machine on its left side. Unfortunately, I don't have the bolts and I contacted PC Richard right away to ask for them.
To my surprise, they told me that no one ever needs or wants the shipping bolts. I find that hard to believe since the installation instructions for the washer explicitly say to remove the shipping bolts and save them. It's pretty clear that they recognize that consumers may need them. But PC Richard's installers made a mistake and took them away, which is frustrating.
When I contacted PC Richard about this issue, they gave me three options. First, they said I could tip the machine without worrying about damage. But the manufacturer disagrees with that. Second, they said they could install the pedestal without the bolts, but that would cost me more money. And third, they said that no one ever needs the bolts, which is simply not true.
I think PC Richard should take responsibility for their mistake and rectify it. It's not fair to stonewall customers who have a legitimate issue. I understand that mistakes happen, but it's important to own up to them and make things right.
Despite this frustrating experience, I have no problems with the washer itself so far. I guess that's a silver lining. But I hope PC Richard takes customer service more seriously in the future.

I recently bought a Panasonic FZ40 zoom camera from PC Richard & Son. However, before I even opened it, I had a change of heart and decided to exchange it for a Nikon S9100. After a thorough discussion, I sent the camera back to them.
Once the camera was delivered to PC Richard & Son, I called to confirm that they had received it. They confirmed that they had, but unfortunately, they could only offer me an even exchange for the Nikon S9100 and an extra battery, which I had already stated that I didn't want. I was disappointed with this arrangement and expressed my dissatisfaction to the customer service representative. However, they explained that I wouldn't be charged any additional fees such as restocking, remailing, or insurance on the exchange.
Despite my attempts to negotiate a better deal, PC Richard & Son refused to cooperate and give me the camera I originally ordered and a refund of the extra charge. I felt frustrated and realized that they had my money and my returned camera. In the end, I decided to accept the new camera and the extra battery, even though I wasn't entirely happy with the situation.
Overall, I found the customer service at PC Richard & Son to be lacking. Unsatisfied with AC purchase and service from this company
I gotta say, I ain't too thrilled with this company. I went in lookin' for a window AC unit, but they didn't tell me about their fancy Survey service where they come out to check out your space and recommend the right unit. They just recommended a 10,000 BTU unit from one brand and charged me $35 for a shelf they said was legally required. But turns out it wasn't even necessary 'cause my unit was already in a roll cage, which I showed 'em in a photo. And then they charged me $225 for plexiglass, sayin' the side levers that come with the unit wouldn't work in my window. But my building superintendent told me that wasn't true.
And to top it all off, the unit they sold me doesn't even cool my apartment! So I called the service number they gave me, but they said the unit was too cheap to be serviced and I needed a 12,000 BTU machine. When I called the store, the manager wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise and they refused to install a new unit without chargin' me $200, even though the warranty said delivery and installation were free.
I wouldn't recommend doin' business with these guys, ya hear?
PC Richard & Son's Dysfunction and Disrespectful Attitude: A Disappointing Experience
I recently had an experience with PC Richard & Son that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. As someone who has worked in sales before, I understand the challenges that come with the job. However, it's situations like this that harm hardworking salespeople. It's not fair to them, and it's not fair to the customers who are trying to make a purchase.
In my case, I was trying to purchase an appliance from PC Richard & Son. Unfortunately, neither I nor the employee at the condo office received the certificate of insurance needed from the delivery department. This is something that local appliance vendors have on file at the condominium office, so it's clear that the warehouse was not sending the certificate on time.
This is not the first time I've experienced dysfunction with the delivery department at PC Richard & Son. It creates a lot of wasted time and frustration for me as a customer. What's worse is that the district sales manager I spoke with had a disrespectful attitude and mouth. This is not something that any customer should have to tolerate.
It's clear that the delivery department's dysfunction and the district sales manager's attitude reflect the culture of PC Richard & Son. It's disappointing to see that this behavior is permitted and that it's difficult to speak with the executive office about these issues.
While I know that my sales manager has worked hard to accommodate me over the years, I can't continue to support a company that allows this kind of behavior. I've decided to cancel my order and request a refund of my deposit. It's important for companies to understand that their culture and behavior have a significant impact on their customers.
