extremely poor customer service
I purchased 3 x garden hoses from pick n pay silver lakes branch on 26/04/2017.
Silver lakes branch currently has no stock as I purchased the last three.
One of the 3 hoses purchased appears to have a blockage.
Because silver lakes has no stock currently I requested an exchange from pick n pay faerie glen branch as they currently have stock.
I provided proof of payment plus my pick n pay loyalty smartshopper card.
However the manager at faerie glen pick n pay hypermarket refused to assist and informed us we had to go back to the store where it was bought from to get a refund.
Please explain how this is customer (Non) "service" as I now have to make a 3rd trip to silver lakes in order to obtain a refund and then I have to drive all the way back to faerie glen hypermarket to "re-purchase" the faulty item.
Eagerly awaiting your reply.
service
On the 01st May whilst shopping at Value Centre, Durban branch of Pick n Pay, my bag was slit in the store and my wallet stolen. As a pensioner my SASSA card was stolen. I had no money to pay for my groceries. I was assisted by a friend that paid for my items. When the manager was approached I was advised that there are no cctv footage in the area that I was accosted. Security was not asked to check if the suspects were still in the store. No apology or assistance was offered.
extremely bad service, rude cashiers
On Saturday the 29th April 2017 around 19h30 pm, I went to the Pick n Pay Convenient Store located at the BP Garage in Tembisa next to Mehlareng Stadium.
I nicely asked Patrick (The Manager) if I can withdraw some money from the cashiers so that I don't stand in the queue unnccesarry he said yes you can I will ask the cashier to get you the cash you need and so he did.
The most rude &ugliest cashiers I have ever seen (Nomsa & Nhlanhla) the two ladies in that store. They agreed to assist me, said I must wait a bit on the side and so I did patiently so.
About 10 mins later another Pick n pay employee came to ask what I am waiting for, I explained, when he asked the cashier "She loudly and rudely denied that she said I can wait. Her exact words" Who said she must wait there, where does she think I am going to get the money from, she is going to wait there there whole night I don't have time for that "
I was not angry because she didn't have the money I was angry because they agreed to help me and then treated me like I am stupid and trashy"
I know people take advantage with customer service in the Township but I can't stand rudeness and extremely disgusting. Pick n Pay please take your cashier for a customer service training. This two ladies needs to go work in the fridges or somewhere very far from the customers. Soo pissed!
bliss double cream yoghurt 1kg
I bought a Bliss Double Cream Yoghurt 1kg at Pick n Pay Strand Street in Cape Town yesterday, it was marked down from R32.99 to R21.99 but when I got home I checked my slip, only to find out that I was charged R32.99 worse part of all is this yoghurt has expired when I opened it bad smell came out, I then checked the date written H Use By 21 April 17. I was in a hurry when I was doing my grocery hence I didn't check the expiry date because also I trust Pick n pay so much, I didn't know that they could sell rotten things to their customers.

Have requested on several occasions... If they have the insight to look on their alleged records...
But remember - checkers slogan... Just around the corner!
poor service/no service
I went to PnP hyper Northgate this morning to buy 2 Vodacom 3G Tablets!
I went to the cellular phones counter and there was no one there, went back to the tills to ask who can assist me and the response was " I don't know go ask at customer care". I walked past the customer care desk as I didn't notice it and went to ask at Kiosk where also an unfriendly teller told me to go ask at the information desk!
When I finally got to the information desk the lady called 3 different people to come assist at the cellular desk and they each kept passing the buck on who is suppose to assist. She finally told me to go wait by the cellular desk, and if you know the Northgate PnP hyper you will know the distance between the information desk and the cellular desk is quite long!
I went there and waited and someone came to ask what do I need after I've waited for another +5minutes, then he said okay he will assist me and left me standing there for another 8minutes, then I finally gave up and left the shop without getting any assistance or buying the tablets!
I have driven from Bryanston to Northgate FOR NOTHING!
NEVER AGAIN WILL I SET MY FOOT IN THAT PickNPay Hyper, I am off to Makro in Woodmead to buy the tablets!
incompetent manager
I spoke to the manager called frederick from pnp diepkloof square and I must say incompetence and being biased has never resulted in retaining any client that I must say, to say that iam upset is an understatement after being treated in a condescending manner and being mocked then the same people I complain about are not even n taken to task wow you'll love pnp customer centricity it's the best ever as if we shop for free
pnp no name spaghetti 500g packet on special at pnp brits,
On 22 march 2017 i bought a packet of 500g spaghetti (no name brand pnp )
to my shock i opened the packet of spaghetti, and there were crawling insets inside(looked like mites).I went back to the store and as usual the manager was so shocked.Telling me that this is the first incident, and that they cannot believe their eyes.I then after a while, got joy from the main manager, telling me that they will replace my product i have used to make this meal.
As this was the last packet of no name spaghetti on the shelf i then took another product and went home.I am a catering manager for a private hospital in the east of pretoria, and according to my knowledge this is unacceptable in any food industry.We have to make a plan and i was not happy in just receiving the replacement of the meal.(video footage privately available )this video are to big to be uploaded on this website, for any other information please contact me on : burnadette.[protected]@gmail.Com
I won't recommend Pick pay Maponya after I bought eggs and they were rotten, because i didn't keep the sleep the refuse to give me another eggs...
double billing
I bought groceries at Pick n Pay East Rand Mall yesterday 17th March 2017 first I asked the cashier to withdraw cash she said she didn't have enough notes in her register then I told her I will pay with my card then I punched in my pin number then she started complaining and said I should try again when I punched my pin the second time the machine declined which time I checked my cellphone notification and it showed me that I was already billed I tried again the second time and it declined again. Long story short I paid twice for the same groceries first with my debit card then with cash as they claimed that there was no proof to them to show I had been debited the first time but I have proof which shows that I had been debited. Then they claimed that they did a reversal I should wait for 24hours for the money to return into my acoount. This is really popostorous having to pay for the same bill twice. I am upset and angry when I called the store today 18th March they told me I must wait until Monday. I just don't understand what am I waiting for because they already billed me and I've got proof fro. the bank statement to prove that I already paid. Today the claim is that they are offline.
Pick n Pay please advice further beacause this is really not fair business practice at all its actually robery.
not delivering as promised
Feb 2017-Pick n Pay Malvern- Queensburgh-advertised Bonaqua Pump Still Mineral water 6X750ml for R 38.90. They didn't have stock on the 22nd Feb 2017 so I took 6 bottles and was billed R R59.34 for six. Uncovered when reached home and went back the following sat and I was told that I needed to return with bottles. Visited them again on 02 March 2017 and Manager walked away without addressing concern. The consultant informed us that they are unable to reimburse us as it was not taken as a pack?. We bought 6X750ml and was not charged as advertised...Furthermore Pick n Pay did not have stock of the packs on the day...
I request a refund of the overcharged amount and who reimburses us for the travel expenses to and from Pick n Pay?

food
Im a regular client of Pick n Pay in Waterstone Village, Somerset West. I always buy chicken and chips from the store. I did not complain about their food, as I assume you get what you pay for. Now Im recently transferred to the Stellenboch Square Mall. While trying out their chicken and chips, Im so shocked about the good quality of food I get. Their food is 10 times better than Waterstone Village food. Please tell me why Pick n Pay stores differ in food quality?
spoiled food
15 February 2017, 18:30-19:00
Bacon on a special - 2 x 200g packs for R27.90.
When i arrived home and opened the bacon it was bloody and smelled very bad. I had to throw it away. It has not reached the expiry date.
No food should be sold if it already went bad.
If i put it in my dish immediately without checking the condition of the bacon and gave it to my guest, they would all get food poisoning.
I do not think this is acceptable at all. I had to incur extra costs to drive to a after hour shop to buy bacon at an more expensive price than the usual bacon price at PNP.
I expect disciplinary action towards the responsible employee for their negligence and at least an voucher to cover my costs.
I am a regular customer who buy's groceries at PNP.
management rude to staff
Good day
Yesterday I was at pick 'n pay mall of the south and I did not like the way the management treats staff. I was in the queue when this lady came and shout at the staff members in front of us. I find it not professional, Pick 'n pay needs to train the management because if u don't respect staff members and build their self esteem we going to receive bad customer service. A staff member's suppose to have a positive attitude every time she enters her work station so that she can provide a good customer service. I was so disappointed to see that staff members are not treated fairly. Please train kalinke at mall of the south to respect her staff because we as customer's don't want to see her bad attitude towards staff.

service
On the 7th of February we visited the Sherwood Pick 'n Pay in Brakpan North, there were contractors busy replacing copper in the roof and their equipment was standing all over the place.
We tried to get to the coldrinks fridge in the last isle but the ladder was right at the end, my mother tried to get past and she fell over the ladder breaking the support rod at the bottom with her back!
A pick 'n pay staff member standing at the till saw how she fell, and literally turned around and walked away, not even checking if she was ok! This is pathetic!
I spoke to one of the managers on duty to find out why this work is done during business hours, she proclaimed that it could not be done after hours because the vendor refused, I asked why a different vendor was not used and she claimed they are the only ones who can do it, I BEG TO DIFFER! They were probably the cheapest!
I feel this is so unproffesional, my mother got hurt in the fall, they could at least show some courtesy!
I sincerely hope that my mother does not have seeious complications hereafter because Pick 'n Pay will be held responsible!
Regards,
A disgusted (regular) customer!
double the difference
Today I bought a cobra clitch pen at pick n pay Meyerton. (Loch street)Shelve price R24.95. Went to pay - scanned R59.99. They did not give me my double the difference.
Worked out the difference is R35.04 so double that gives you R70.08. They corrected the price at the till to R24.95 and another R24.95 was taken off.
Double the difference policy Double the difference - If any item scans at a higher price than displayed on shelf and the barcode corresponds, we will give you the item at the marked price, PLUS double the difference off the first item and the subsequent items at the lower price.
Terms & Conditions of Double the Difference
Policy is applicable only from time of purchase;
Double the difference does not apply to staff;
Barcode needs to correspond with item being queried;
Only the first item is given double the difference back and balance of products at the lower price;
If double the difference is more than the product, the customer gets the product for free;
Now where is the remainder of double the difference?
I feel cheated.
pick and pay management
I went to pick and pay in tembisa at tembi mall today I needed to buy tampax on the shelf the tampax was advertised at a price of 19.99 but at the counter they priced me 54.99 . I don't know how such a huge difference could occur . That is the first complaint. the second complaint is that there is a lady working at this very pick and pay she is a loan shark and she harasses me in front of other customers . she borrowed me money and I failed to pay the whole amount of tried to discuss with her that ill pay on a monthly basis but she refused to that suggestion now every time I go to the shop she will come to me and confront me in front of other customers about her money I even feel scared to go to pick and pay anymore. you should really assist me thanking you in advance.

Can someone do a surprise visit there.

employees attitude towards clients
This complaint is at the sedgefield pick and pay, not knysna.
I purchased a potato peeler on thursday 12 january but told the till operator to throw away the slip as I least expected it not to work, well, it did not work so I took it back on friday 13 january only to be treated like a piece of rubbish by the store manager.
I spoke to the lady behind the counter about the peeler who then called a lady floor manager who then called the store manager (Michael ma... Something or other, he couldn't even write his name so that it was readable. )
He did not have the courtesy of greeting us or even talk to us about the issue, he totally ignored us and spoke to the lady at the till in her language and then stood there for a short while, not saying or doing anything, just showing his power as the manager and then walked away, she then gave back my money (R41.00). I went over to the manager (Michael ma... ) and asked him to write his name down, well, the michael part you can read but the surname is impossible, if there is a way that I can scan his name in and send it to you, I will.
Unfortunately pick and pay in sedgefield has had a brand name change from spar but it is still the same owners who have done absolutely nothing about the way their staff have been trained to deal with the public, who, indirectly pay all of their salaries, whether on the till or up to management or even ownership.
It is a privately owned store but unfortunately it is still pick n pay's name brand and this kind of attitude makes me want to rather deal with an opposition super market.
When the store was spar, the service was disgusting, the produce was mostly taken out of the cooler room thus ending up soggy and thrown away after a day or so such as tomatoes and cucumbers etc and now with the name brand change, nothing has changed.
The best thing that could happen in sedgefield, is that a checkers would open up here, I would definitely support them rather.
Regards, brian cooper
