On 8/23/23 I received an email from priceline.com that I had two reservations in New York. I live in California. There was a reservation for hotel and also for Avis car rental. I also had an email from my credit card company of suspicious activity. I called my credit card company, told them the charges were fraudulent and shut down the account. I then called Priceline and requested the charges be reversed and reservations cancelled. I spent about an hour on the phone cancelling the hotel charges with Priceline calling the hotel and speaking with the manager and those charges were reversed. When we proceeded to the car rental charges the agent told me it had been more than 1 hour since I had opened the initial email of the reservation and priceline policy was that if the person who made the reservation knew enough information to get into my account then they would not cancel and reverse the charges. I immediately called my credit card company back and started a fraud claim with the credit card company. That claim is still pending.
Claimed loss: 2,450.20
Desired outcome: Credit of full amount. Charges were fraudulent and I informed Priceline as soon as I received notice.
