We booked our vacation package with Priceline. Priceline sent out trip confirmation, we paid for the package through our Amex acct amounting to US$4762.57 which covers for our flight, hotels and car. We have 2 hotel reservations both in La Quinta Fresno, both confirmed and fully paid with the package.
We later found out that we were charged by La Quinta for Dec 30 to Jan 06 amounting to US$987.87. When we called the hotel to inquire about the unexpected charge, they said Priceline/Booking.com did not process payment for our Jan 2-6 stay. We already paid for our stay and now we are being charged again for the same stay.
On Jan 10, 2024—La Quinta left a voicemail threatening us that if we don’t pay the US$987.87 they will charge us of fraud. This is not our fault, we already paid for our stay. La Quinta requires that Priceline/Booking.com process/forward the payment for our Jan 2-6 stay—which we already paid through Priceline.
We have been calling Priceline almost everyday since January 06,2024 but we are getting different response from different agent. The last agent/supervisor from Priceline that we spoke to said that our last hotel reservation is “Pay Later”. There is nowhere in our confirmation that says we have to pay for our stay later.
I attached herewith La Quinta's NEW charge in our Amex account Cad$1343.47, the summary of charges from Priceline US$4762.52 (for the package), Amex Billing for the Package and Our Payment to the bank.
Desired outcome: Priceline to pay La Quinta what we had already paid them for our Jan 02-06, 2024 hotel stay.
