I rented a vehicle through Priceline and they provided a total cost.
The rental company was Fox rental company. Upon my arrival to Fox rental company counter I was forced to pay a mandatory minimum insurance fee regardless of having full insurance coverage via GEICO.
I contacted Priceline customer service and was told that they cannot control the rental companies additional fees. I expressed my opinion to Priceline that why would they then provide a total cost to the consumer knowing that the rental company Will likely charge additional fees, very deceptive. Total cost and estimate cost are two different cost.
I then proceeded to contact Fox rental company and was told by their customer service representative that they DO NOT have a mandatory minimum insurance fee. They advised to return to the rental company counter and have them remove the fee and update my receipt.
The representative at the counter was rude and would not remove the mandatory minimal insurance fee.
These are deceptive tactics from both Priceline and FOX rental company and the consumer needs to be aware.
I proceeded to provide all this information on social media and was informed by my other media friends that Priceline is very deceptive and not to utilize them and that FOX rental company continues to do this as well.
these tactics are deceptive and basically theft from the consumer who is traveling and requires transportation.
Claimed loss: $62.50
