Read full review of Raymour & Flanigan FurnitureSofa with 3 legs!
We ordered a sofa bed for our daughter and it was delivered with only 3 LEGS! We had to call customer service multiple times, they were nasty, and we paid for a new sofa bed but could NOT use it until for many many days and nights (and we had given away the old sofa bed) until the fourth leg arrived by mail (and we had to install it ourselves). You get what you pay for, most of their crap is made in CHINA--buy from Thomasville, more expensive but BETTER quality and not as expensive as Ethan Allen and custom made and lasts!
You are so right! Their so-called customer service stinks!
(I called Poughkeepsie NY I think).
They are bad for upholstered furniture, so unless you need it very fast, go to Thomasville. I too had a bad experience with a sofa bed at Raymour, but a great sofa from Thomasville. Maybe table or bookcase is okay at Raymour?

Garbage furniture
Horrible company horrible furniture horrible treatment. We purchased 6, 000.00 + in livingroom & diningroom. Everything fell apart, the installers actually broke items while they were putting things together! The black entertainment center had glass doors that they installed crooked, hanging off hinges. When my husband came home he said that the screws were stripped out and the "particle board" was too boored out to even hold the screws, almost like there were not any predrilled holes for the screws. We lived on the phone with the company, nothing was ever done. The furniture was thrown away and we are still trying to settle with the finance company. The white leather living room set actually deflated (the pillow tops and anywhere it was stuffed) so it just looks awful and we have to use pillows to lean on the arms or its like leaning on wood. The stitchings came loose, the plastice feet cracked. What garbage. I had to actually take a broken "accent chair" back to the store that had broken during installation! They wouldn't even come to get it! Once they have your money... You're dead to them. Do not patronize this business! I hope they go under!
I'd love to find a way to put this store out of bussiness! They are the WORST Company, its the WORST furniture, its the WORST place to walk into. Do yourself a favor dont even drive into the parking lot! Problems after problems. Save yourself the headaches.

Scratched dining room table
I purchased a dining room table, 4 chairs and a server from Raymour and Flanigan and when the table was put together I noticed a scratch on it. I contacted the company immediately and they told me that the scratches would probably be able to be buffed out. When the repairman came out he put on a mask and started to use some strong chemicals. I couldn't stop him in time to let him know I have severe allergies and asthma and I cannot tolerate any kind of strong smells. It appeared he used some kind of lacquer or similar agent but I got so sick I had to tell him to leave and I had to get out. I put my fan on and opened all the windows and called the customer service department and explained the situation. By the time they got involved the damage was already done. I had been sickened by the smell and haven't felt good since then. I feel it is definitely coorelated to the chemical(s) that he used in trying to repair the scratches. I should have been forewarned about this and Raymour and Flanigan should know better than to send out people without letting you know what to expect.
I should be compensated for all my aggravation and health issues because of their lack of concern.
Special orders and customer service
We recently moved and needed to purchase a new bedroom set for DD and a new sectional. DD's bedroom came and it is beautiful. Now is where the fun begins...
We went into the store and told them that we wanted a deep brown sectional. They showed us what was available and they wrote down a price for us--more than we wanted to pay but we really liked it alot.
We went home to measure and I came back to place the order. At this time I was told that the price given did not reflect the $200 extra needed to be paid for the special order color (strange since I told them that was the color we were looking for). Ok. Also, bc it would be a special order, I needed to put down 20% cash first. I questioned this bc I was financing the entire thing on a R&F card. I told them I had to go home and discuss with DH.
I went back and asked if there was anything we could do about the 20% down bc we were financing the whole thing and just did not have the extra cash to put down. After being talked to like a ### (one who had already paid them $2000 for DD's bedroom set), I asked for the Customer Service number. They refused and after much debate, got a manager. I asked again for the # and she refused. So I went home, hopped online and found it. They laughed when I told them that said there was nothing they could do about the 20% down and asked if I could put anything down. I was more than willing to put down 15% (like I had explained in store ten times).
Fast forward and we receive the couch today--6 weeks later. The configuration that the lady and I had discussed, and drawn out, is not possible bc of the shape of one of the pieces. We moved it aroun 10 times and it just does not work. It justs out and cuts off our doorway! And instead of facing out, like an L-shaped sectional shoudl do, it faces in on each other. All for $3000!
So I call the store and they say that there is probably nothing they can do bc it was a special order. I explain that the sales woman and I discussed this and I was told how it would fit and even the delivery men said it could not be done that way. They told me that I will have to wait to talk to my salesperson and see IF they can do anything. They suggested switching out a piece or two but the whole reason we bought this one for so much more $ was specifically bc of the piece that does not work!
No resolution as of yet.

Stalker salespeople
I wanted to address this with Raymour and Flannigan directly but there is no where to put comments on their website. Maybe this is how the sale people are taught, but it needs to stop. Recently my boyfriend and I have (sometime with parents in tow) been visiting two different area Raymour and Flannigan stores. Everytime there is someone waiting at the door for you. Don't bother with "we're just looking" "we're doing just fine" "we don't need any help" or even, "Please for the love of God go away!" Everytime we were relentlessly stalked, our every move shadowed by an over zealous salesperson. Raymour, calm yourself! I felt like I couldn't casually walk around your showroom and view your merchandise as I was running most of the time to get away from your sales people. At one point I asked for one of their style guides at the customer service kiosk. I was asked if we were greeted at the door. I said of course. I was told that only Joe Salesperson could hand me that. Would you like me to page them for you, she asked. I promptly put my palm to my face, sighed and said no thanks. What is the point of Customer Service if you must be hand-fed by a salesperson. Please stop the stalking, Raymour and Flanigan!

A dear friend of mine who use to work for the company and she told me they must stay with or near the customer for insurance reasons. Frankly she didn't like doing that, but that is the policy. If they don't the sales person gets in a lot of trouble and can be written up/loss their job as she did over someone, "just looking".
Late delivery of wrong funiture!
We ordered a lovely leather sectional sofa. They gave a 4 hour window in which they would deliver. They did not; they were late. They dropped off a left-handed sectional when we ordered a right-handed one. (My family member that accepted it should have noticed but they didn't). They realized their mistake when they tried to deliver my sofa to someone that wanted the left-handed sectional. They called and said they'd be back in a FEW DAYS to correct it. We told them no, that was not acceptable. They finally came and switched the sofas around 7:30pm, breaking the screen door while doing so. After they left I found a nick in my wall too.
And of course, no one at the store cared at all when I called to complain. It was like talking to my kitchen table. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

strike one! you let your family member be there at the time of delivery... strike 2 you dont call the corporate office to handle the situation... I HAVE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH THIS COMPANY MYSELF. I TOOK IT TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND WOUDNT YOU KNOW...BAM IT WAS HANDLED! QUIT YOUR WHINING
S&f king mattress
My fiance' and I purchased a entire bedroom set and king mattress in April 2008...after 3 months noticed all the threading was coming out of the mattress. Called Raymour and they sent someone out to take a look at the mattress and the technician stated this is definitely a defect(not the consumers fault). The mattress was replaced in August 2008. This second mattress is now just a year old and the top of the mattress is sagging by the head of the bed. Another technician came out, used a plumber string w/ metal cones attached both ends and it proved the bed is sagging in the one area 1 3/4 inches and said its definitely a defect and customer service will call you. However he also stated it would be understandable if I didn't have a foot board and persons were sitting on the end of the mattress, however that is OBVIOUSLY not the case here. We have a headboard and footboard and the mattress is rotated weekly...-PROBLEM--Raymour is crediting me but why should we get a credit after a year, knowing that the model/style we originally purchased is no longer in stock--discontinued(WONDER WHY)...I don't feel if it's not the consumer and this is clearly A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT, why should we eat the difference and charge any additional money. If this were our fault, I would take full responsibility. Darn shame that these Co.'s that carry these items all protect themselves--MY QUESTION: "HOW IS THE CONSUMER PROTECTED ON DEFECTED ITEMS PURCHASED?" You would think that Stearns and Foster being a reputable mattress for many years that the actual Stearns & Foster company should stand behind their product...shame on you Stearns and Foster...you should be ashamed after I have posted this message and so many other unhappy consumers and obviously this is probably just a waste of my time writing this, don't feel you are going to do anything...Word of mouth is the best...and will ruin them in the long run...Remember what goes around comes around and that's KARMA...oh yeah, it's made in another country because they can pay the foreigners less money to make the quality of our items like crap...nobody cares but the person whom purchases the junk and then gets stuck w/ it...and of course the mattresses are on sale and are way more expensive..BUT OF COURSE...Did I mention they are on sale--gave us a $1755.00 credit and all there new replaced mattresses are 1900.00 and up...NICE! I feel Raymour should go after the manufacturer for the difference...maybe I should contact a lawyer too...I have proof and I will prove to win...this is BS.

Horrible customer service
I ordered a mattress and box spring from Cherryhill Store, in store service was great. The delivery service Sucked! I was informed the delivery people would call and give a time of approximate arrival.Well they didn't and showed up unannounced and I wasn't even home. They gave me no notice until they were in front of the location.
The delivery man kept saying how he has to be in delaware county after informing him that someone will be there to let him in since he did not give any indication of his arrival. He was rude and threatened to leave. Finally let into new place and what happens the delivery man uses the bathroom doing a number 2 and overflowing my toilet.
He messed up my bathroom and brand new rugs allowing the water to leak into the tennants place below.

Platinum protection plan
My wife and I purchased a leather couch and recliner in Jan 08 and were duped into buying the insurance against damage to the furniture including claw marks from cats. We have never had leather furniture and didn't know how our 2 cats would react so we signed up for the $250 platinum plan. Upon reading the protection plan details I found that rip...
Read full review of Raymour & Flanigan Furniture and 8 commentsVery rude saleswoman
My husband was in the Wilkes Barre store on the 20th of August. He was looking for a mattress as ours is in poor condition. When he was approached by a woman, she immediately insinuated that he was looking for something cheap & on the showrooom floor.
This woman seemed to assume that my Husband, Tom, since he was dressed in jean shorts and a t-shirt, was looking for something inexpensive. That is the way she treated him. When she asked her co-worker if there were any mattresses on display, that were CHEAP, she was told no then nformed my husband she couldn't help him. My Husband was treated very rudely by this woman He was given the impressions that due to the fact he wasn't in a suit & tie they didn't want to be bothered with his buisness. He was so upset with the way he was treated, he came home and was in a outrage. We then went to EFO and purchased a $875.00 mattress, from a company who treated customers the way they should be treated, not like someone who came in off the street with no money to his name. I hope that this rude woman was working on commission, she lost a nice size one. We told all our friends of this episode and they agreed they would not be frequenting this store. My Husband, Tom, has many friends and is well loved in our community, so you can forget ever seeing a lot of their friend, relatives, and anyone they can tell of this very low life treatment at your store. They all felt the same way as to the way he was treated.

I agree with you - this is a very rude behaviour... if it was like you were describing it.
One thing although - $875 for a mattress? Was this the price you were targeting to buy a mattress in R&F?
They don't keep such cheap matresses for at least a queen size, so maybe her answer to you was not because of what you husaband was wearing but because of your target price?
I just bought a mattress in R&F for $2600 and it was not among the expencive models.
Cheap furniture/horrible customer service/high prices
Do not buy furniture from this store! I brought a livingroom set from there and when it was delivered the chair arm was ripped, I demanded a new one and got a new chair a week later and guess what is was ripped too, same spot! After the 3rd chair was delivered without a rip I accepted it. About a month later I brought a mattress and when it was delivered it had a weird giant hump in the middle I refused it and demanded a new mattress, when the 2nd one came it had the same weird hump, here's the thing the delivery guy said, "miss don't buy nothing from this store its all junk" needless to say, you have to fight with customer service every step of the way. The warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on.
I can'ty wait until they go out of businesss I am going to celebrater.

Poor service and fake charges
I don't want to waste anymore time on this company so I'm going to make this short. Be forewarned this company does not care about you.
I found a mystery charge on my credit card from Raymour and Flanigan. My wife and I negotiated a package deal that included 3 mattresses, 3-Platinum protection plans and a sectional couch that also included the plan. 2 of the plans were negotiated as throw-ins but Raymour and Flanigan at the Freehold Raceway Mall in NJ renegged on the deal the next day and charged my Wells Fargo account without notifying me. It took me 10 weeks to get these charges removed which included late fees and interest charges. By the way, Wells Fargo charges 24% APR if you sign up through R&F.
We are also waiting for the Protection Plan company to call us back about cleaning our furniture. After numerous calls to them we still have not heard back after 3 weeks. This company is running a Madoff-type scam.

Sofa and loveseat
Raymour and Flanigan sold us a lemon $3000 sofa. Delivery was incomplete, missing back pillows. We called customer service about the missing pillows, never heard back from them. The SECOND day when I actually had a chance to sit on the sofa, I noticed that the loveseat sank in near the arm rest. We called customer service, we were told that someone will come to repair it.
My wife flipped out, how can you send someone to repair a sofa that was delivered a day ago and is supposed to be brand new. They sent an inspector who told us that they have had numerous issues with sofa seats sinking. The customer support was pathetic. I would have rather purchased a sofa from a local mom and pop retailer. No wonder companies are going out of business.
Stay away from them.

I am highly disappointed on the platinum coverage with Raymour & Flannigan. My husband and I opted for the platinum package to have a peace of mind on the investment we made 3 years ago. Not knowing the coverage or warranty is all a scam and a waste of money. I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of Raymour's leather pieces for the price I paid the Leather set should have lasted more than 3 years in great shape. The color on all 3 leather pieces is fading, chipping, peeling just horrible and unacceptable from the reputable Raymour & Flannigan furniture store.
Please be advised I will be filing a complaint to BBB and on yelp to alert all prospective customers of the scam on the platinum coverage and the quality of the leather products. I really thought purchasing from Raymour & Flanigan was a good investment and wouldn't have the need to replace for several years but I was very wrong. I really expected a lot more from Raymour and Flanigan as advertised on TV and Website. After all the money my spouse spent on the leather living room set and the platinum coverage now I have to get all of it replaced within 3 years of purchase. This is very unfair and Raymour should send someone out to take a look at the condition of my furniture and reimburse or give me credit to replace my purchase under the platinum coverage plan.
All the customers should know that Raymour & Flanigan does not have the best leather furniture out there. People don't be fooled by the name of the furniture store and waste your money on buying from them. They do not stand behind their name and coverage policy.
This is totally unacceptable.
Bought a L shape sectional sofa and chose this particular one because it was the only one that would fit in the space. It was 2300 and less than a year later the two seats that are sat in the most are collapsing. We bought the platinum protection plan and the guy came out to inspect and informed me that this does not cover every day wear and tear. Thankfully, there was a pen that soaked through one side of one of the seat cushion and that is the only reason why I am getting one new cushion. I have a sofa and love seat that was purchased from Macy's 10 years ago and it is in better condition than my one year old sectional. Need to but a sectional for my basement. Went to Macy's and at least with there protection plan if you wind up that you don't use it you get a credit for a future purchase.
Sales rep lied
Sales rep lied
I went to the store to possibly buy some new furniture for my condo and found a couch and chair for the living room. My daughter had a cat and I was concerned about it using the furniture as a scratching post. The sales rep assured me if I purchased the "warranty" that the company would fix any pet damage. This is not true. Also the "90 day comfort sleep" has a 100.00 dollar restocking fee that she failed to tell me about too. I will not ever purchase anything from this company ever again. It really is no way to do business.

Mattress rip offs
I orderd a mattress in October of 2009. Took delivery in November, called them in March to complain and never heard back from them. I believe they sent me a cheaper mattress then the one I ordered. Nothing, they will do nothing. Called again three weeks ago since the springs are broken inside and hitting our hip bones. They sent a kid out with a string and a bolt and he proceeded to toss the bolt across our bed. He was gone in three minutes. Heard back from them on Monday and they said our mattress has a tiny small stain on it and we are out of luck. There is no stains on our mattress. We have had a mattress pad 2 inches thick since day one. I told them I will put the mattress in the back of my truck and sit in front of their store and tell everyone what crap they sell. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Hopefully this will help. Any other suggestions, please let me know.

"Stay away from" your story is like a recorder of mine! Bought a king in 2004 by 2006 I had 5 different beds in my home all with problems after a few months! I never felt I was getting a NEW mattress always thought I was getting a refurbished or fixed mattress. Ended up going from a king to a gueen and paying the difference and now after just over a year this mattress is sagging! I have to go through this all over again I want my money back and I NEVER want to deal with this company again! There MUST be something we can do to STOP the insanity of this company. I love how they dont have a complaint/review site on there own website! After reading all the complaints on this site I can see why they are afraid of posting coustmer reviews. Wishing you a good nights sleep.
Sleepless in Syracuse
I also have had problems with R&F mattress . I purchased a queen size mattress last March 2110 within a few months there was a problem on my side . I was sleeping on the springs By the way I weight 168 lbs . Called R&F they sent out the inspector who spent less than 30 seconds and saw what the problem was. Received a call from the Franklin Mills Store to come in and get a new bed . When my wife and I got there we were told that the mattress is no longer made and need to pick another replacement . Of course they made us pay the difference because which was wrong and should of upgraded the mattress without additional charge to us .Thats proper business practice to
the customer, but we paid the difference any way that mattress lasted only 7 months . Back to the same store for another mattress same [censor] its no longer made. Spoke to the store manager and guess what they had the same mattress at the warehouse this time they could not shake us down for more money . It was delivered and within 2 DAYS THATS RIGHT 2 DAYS The mattress felt that I was sleeping on the springs . Once again the inspector came out and could not believe what happened he never had to go into the bedroom and could see the defective mattress from a distance what was wrong . It seems that R&F sells defective low end mattress . I don't want to get into how there delivery system is but after reading about the mattress you can form your own conclusion
ALERT do yourself a favor go elsewere for your furnitue and bedding needs unless you want the same runaround and stress which is not worth it
Advertising
It's difficult for me to undertand how a quality company like Raymour & Flanagan would spend some of their advertising dollars on The Late Show with David letterman. Anyone who supports a perverted person like Letterman must be challenged. Calling one of the United States governors a slut, and trying to get a laugh at the expense of her teen aged daughter is deplorable. I'll buy my furniture form a company that supports people who respect United States citizens, and Raymour & Flanagan is obviously not one of those companies.

This is a baslis comment and shows you know little about advertising. When a business buys ad space they buy it in blocks of several hours at a time and have no control of exactly when the ads run unless they pay THOUSANDS of extra dollars to do so. If a business buys they ad space from an ad agency they have even less control. Typically ad space is bought in 2 - 4 hour increments as to when they want the ad to run, the local channel places it where they want. The business running the ad will normally see a domographic of the people who watch that channel at those times and if the statistics are in line with their customer they will purchase that space. The only statistics the business sees is age and income typically. The ad spaces are normally filled many weeks if not months before you see them so for all you know they had already bought the space long before the so called "deplorable acts" took place.
Furthermore if you find that show so deplorable what were you doing watching it, which obviously you were in order to see the ad?
Lousy service
I'm glad to see from this website that I'm not the first customer they tried to take advantage of. I wish I had seen this before shopping with them!
My husband and I purchased a coffee table from them on May 21. The salesperson was less than friendly and barely spoke a word to us. Maybe he was mad we weren't dropping $10k. He filled out forms on the computer and told us we could pick up the table the NEXT DAY. Then he took us to pay for it.
One of the two women behind the counter asked him if he had checked the inventory. He hadn't. So she checked the computer, made a call, and found out that they didn't have the table in stock. By this time, we had already been charged for the table and had put the purchase on our credit card! They told us that the table would be in the NEXT WEEK, and they would call us at the beginning of that week to confirm what day it would be delivered so I could pick it up.
I received no phone call. I called 8 days after we ordered the table and was informed that it would not be arriving until the END OF JUNE and there was nothing they could do about it! My husband works in retail and he was asking if they could order from another store, or other tricks he knows about. No go on any of it. By this time, we had already paid off our credit card statement which included this bill. Needless to say, we were pretty annoyed. The lady told us she refunded our purchase. I'm stalking my credit card online, I hope she really did refund. I won't be too shy to tell people to NEVER shop here! What an awful company!

Had similar experience when I dealt with them ... $5000 worth of leather furniture guaranteed with 2 days ... NOT. One chair had to be returned because it made an incessant irritating metal on metal grinding nose when you moved in it. Thhe only way would take it was by my threatening to have the entire set returned because I was within the guarantee time.
I just don't trust them!
I am quite surprised at these comments on this website. I just purchased a sofa in NY on long Island and the sales rep. couldnt have been nicer or more efficient. The delivery was done on the day requested without a hitch. The delivery men were curteous and fast. I will definitely purchase from Raymour and Flannigan again. I had a wonderful, no stress experience!
irresponsible tractor trailer driver
On Sunday, April 26, 2009, around 3:30 pm, we were on Rt. 81 starting through Syracuse. We were traveling north in the left lane specified for traffic heading to Watertown. A Raymour & Flanigan tractor trailer came up to us fairly fast and tooted his horn. We were already slightly above the 50 mph speed limit. Then he sailed past us on the right side blowing his horn and waving at us. He proceeded to swing back & forth around cars over three lanes. When he finally slowed down to exit right, we caught up to him. He made ugly hand signals at us. The trailer license number was 1491D1. The driver was a thin man wearing glasses.
