I purchased this RCA (24V511T) television not quite a year and a half ago and I am already having issues with the picture. The picture has little narrow black horizontal lines at the bottom and the top. Every other experience I've had with this was followed with the picture dying completely.
I e-mailed RCA to complain about this and they responded with an offer to "exchange" my rotten television for a new rotten television for $133 - plus whatever it costs to ship the thing. As luck would have it, the TV is now out of warranty and this is the only option I have - per company policy.
When I voiced my displeasure with this "option" and my desire to speak with a supervisor or manager of some sort, I was told that there was nobody else authorized to tell me anything different. I told them I would never buy another RCA product and would tell everyone I possibly could, to do the same. They basically didn't care. So, I am posting this complaint to urge everyone not to purchase anything RCA makes, especially televisions...unless you like flushing money down the toilet.
The new RCA Opal model 4204 friggin sucks!
Where do I start? First, let's talk about the FM radio. On my past mp3 players, I could receive at least partial signal of all the stations from Cincinnatii when I live clear up in Winchester. With this foolish insult of an mp3 player, I could only pick up local radio stations! It wouldn't even attempt to pick up radio stations from the city! WTF?
Secondly, the shuffle mode sucks a lot of ###. Who wants to hear the same stinking shuffle order for years without end and no change or reverse in the order whatsoever? Not me. I was failed this same way from a My Musix mp3 player, but I once before purchased an RCA Lyra and it did not have this problem! This is an outrage! How could a brand name fail me whenever a former member of the series was actually acceptable? I don't know, but this was a huge disappointment.
Thirdly, the material making up the mp3 player is a worthless peice of s%@t that is literally only good for less than a day of use. I was already disappointed by the crappy shuffle capacity of the mp3 player, and to top it all I charged it up with the USB cord of the mp3 player, and the computer said that "your device may not work properly." Like hell it wouldn't! I tried accessing back to the music, there was text that displayed "Please wait" that lasted for thirty minutes. Forget about it. It's gone to hell where it belongs and I'm not going to prey for it to come back to life.
Going fourth, the customer service for RCA sucks horribly. One guy complained my similar problem with a past member of the RCA revolution, the Lyra Jukebox, which had a random mode that was considered inferior to other brands. Audiviox had an upgrade all ready for this guy to help fix the problem. So I had some hope that the same action would be done for me. I posted my question, and some jerk emailed me saying "There's nothing we can do about a bad random mode. There will be no upgrade for this. I'm sorry for any inconvinence."
Thanks you RCA, for ruining my trust on mp3 players. Now I realize that there isn't any good mp3 players out there that would fit my needs, because if all of the other ones are like that peice of crap, then I'm folding back to the past generations of CD players. I'm done purchasing any mp3 players, anywhere. I was lucky that these flaws came to my notice early, because I was able to send the damn thing back to Wal-mart for a refund. When they asked me if I would like a replacement, I rolled my eyes and asked "Are you kidding? I'm not buying anything from RCA!"
I PURCHASED A 52 INCH HDTV RCA BRAND LESS THAN THREE YEARS AGO IT HAS STOP WORKING I CALLED RCA AFTER THE FIRST YEAR OF PURCHASE BECAUSE I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS THAN THEY IGNORED ME AND NEVER SENT ANYONE OUT THE FIX THE PROBLEM
Dcr8335 is a total failure since the day i bougth it!(less than a year), it endup with a tape inside that dont even recognize!total piece of ###!
I received a M4102 Opal mp3 with video, it was a gift from my wife(her gift, my money). This is the most disappointing piece of junk ever. I found HTML coding for web pages easier to learn than this device. There is NO customer service, and their web site just takes you around in circles. Too bad "Buy American" doesn't apply to retailers. RCA use to be a trusted brand, now they sell low line product with little or no customer service, and don't think about trying to contact them. The service is as good as the product they sell, lame at best.
I purchased a large flat screen, RCA...$1, 600 .model number m50wh72s and was not told that there is a bulb in the tv that burns out after so many hours! this bulb costs over $100.00 and i have had to replace it 3 times since December of 07! I have complained to RCA to no avail...i would never have bought this tv had i known this! now, june 2010 the tv has completely DIED! BULB SEEMS FINE, TV IS DEAD...this is poor poor business!
Lamps burn out on DLP TV's. I've replaced mine a couple of times in 3 years. It depends on how much you use it. I've had mine fixed recently. I had an extended warranty to pay for the repairs. Had I not had it, the repairman said that it would cost approximately $1200. You might want to check with a local tv repair shop to see if it is something that is minor and would be worth fixing.
Just an FYI...According to the tv repair service guy, if you buy any of the new televisions, you would be wise to buy the extended warranty. He said that he used to never advise people to buy them as they used to be a waste of money. He said that the newer one's just don't last as long.
Purchased a 42 rca lcd model number l42wd22 have had for 3 yrs when you turn it on the little green light goes back out and it blinks red was told it sounded like a power board problem but wait htey dont carry those anymore what the f ### a 3 year old tv and they dont have parts what kind of company is rca?
RCA lcd 32" TV screen went black 91 days (ONE (1) DAY AFTER LIMITED 90-day WARRANTY RAN OUT) RCA will not fix TV. Want me to pay for shipping TV to CA AND pay for labor! That will cost more than TV cost! RIDICULOUS! TV was used RARELY in vacation home. WHAT POOR Quality. And what POOR customer svc. SHAME on them. Out $400 bucks. Please share this story! Tweet it. FB post it. Get this out there however you want - but get it out there!
I experienced practically the same thing. My kids gave me a 32" flat screen with DVD combo for Christmas 2009 from Walmart
(cost429.00). The picture went black May 30, 2010. After 90 days RCA requested that I pay 129.95 labor cost plus shipping. My hands were tied. Shipped June 1, 2010. RCA repaired it shipped back to me via Fed-x. Long story made short, the TV was stolen from Fed-x warehous in Fortworth Texas. Contacted RCA who never returned any of my many phone calls. Got the run around. Finally August the 2nd recieved a replacement TV, same defective model and remanufactured. RCA said as stated in the warranty it is at their descretion whether to replace it with used or new tvs. Out nearly $600.00 for a 32 inch. Now I worry if my refurbished tv will go bad and how soon.
Purchased a blueray home theater system for a
christmas gift . Only used the dvd player a few times but now drawer won"t open . Have always been a fan of rca produts but no longer! If you call the customer supprt line you get a recording and jazz music! I stayed online for 30 minutes. Have tried to e-mail them repeatedly but get no response. They"ll take your money and then you're screwed! Bought it at shop-ko but they are not much better. You need to purchase a service contract from them along with paying for a $300 plus machine before they"ll do anything. What a rip-off!
I purchashed a RCA TV #L32HD31 from Big Lots less than 18 months ago and the set went out. The information I found on Google is that this is a common problem with this particular brand. It seems that RCA knowingly sold defective televisions. The company should be held liable for the repair or replacement of these sets.
purchased rca 32 inch hdtv which stopped working prior to warrranty and called TTe Technicians who made the Rca product and they were not helpful in helping me get my tv repaired.
Purchased a blueray home theater system 7-2014. It started making a loud noise when turned on. Sears told me to return it to them for repair. I did this and sears took care of all the shipping. It was returned not repaired. Sears said they did not repair this and gave me RCA customer support contact info. The nightmare began. I emailed RCA customer support on [protected] and received no reply. I contacted them on line where you came ask a question. I explained again what was wrong. I was given Alco-Venturer phone numbers that just rang fast busy and an email that was the same RCA customer support Sears gave me. I them went back to RCA live chat and was told again to get in touch with Alco-Venturer and given different phone numbers. One number finally worked. I was told to return the player to a warehouse in New York for repair. I was told I have to pay the shipping for a product still under warranty. I asked if we could just have the part sent to us because we know it is the cooling fan making the noise. I was told by Aaron no that is not the warehouses policy. If a warehouse is making this companies customer service policies I can see why there are big problems.
