Leaking personal client info
On Nov 6th, 2022, an acquaintance of mine (who is also a client/ customer) went to make a payment at Rent a Center (731 South 1st St in Yakima, Wa). When making the payment; because the acquaintance and I do share the same name; the workers that were attending them, asked them if they perhaps knew me. My acquaintance states that the workers gave out my full name and told them about the issues we have had previously due to a washer and dryer not working properly and wanting to see what they can do to fix it. The acquaintance also mentioned that the workers tried to describe my features in order for the customer to see if they could recognize me. Alas the customer said no, but in reality, they knew who I was. I just don't think it is professional or even correct to release personal client information. It makes me feel wary and uncomfortable knowing that they gave out my information in the first place.
Here is one of the issues I have had with them just recently:
I've recently went to the store to make a payment.
While making a payment, I asked if they could come by to see if the washer and dryer could be fixed. The issue with the set was the dryer wasn't drying and the washer wouldn't drain. I've made previous calls beforehand (complaints that had lasted for months) asking when they can stop by my place to fix the set or if there was a solution to this problem that I was having. They said they couldn't do anything due to my set being paid off. At this point, I wasn't even aware that my items were paid off. At the place I go to, they usually tell you when an item had been paid off and give you a certificate, and when you buy an item, they always ask if the customer thinks if an insurance coverage is necessary, this is for everything. They didn't offer the insurance for the set when I started paying. I actually haven't put any coverage on the items that I have previously purchased, but they always asked me, and I would say no, in this case, they didn't mention it. Like I said before, they said I paid it off, I didn't know it was paid off. They said that it was paid off in September and I didn't even know about it due to me having various things needing to be paid off. With this being said, I was frustrated and upset because I had no idea was paid off, my set wasn't working, and I've had this problem with my dryer and washer for months and calling to see when workers can pass by to see if they can do something about it, and nothing was done. Fortunately, they came to a solution for this issue afterwards
This example is particularly of what they leaked to my acquaintance and I'm not having it.
Desired outcome: Don't want them to leak my info again and come to an understanding because what they did was not right.
Haven’t made my payment on time.
I was dealing with the store manager in Greenville Texas named Tony Jacobs about some stuff I rent. He was upset and proceeded to threaten me saying he’s not the one to play with and I’m a real clown and proceeded to try to come to my house via text. Now I don’t feel safe in my own home. I am reaching out here first before I take it to the police for harassment.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I like rent a center the company allows people basically an opportunity to have things they would normally have to pay for in cash how ever since 2020 when I first started my first agreement at 71st an Jeffery the entire staff minus delivery guys have been horrible experience. I called today to understand why my due date was offset by 4 weeks when i started it was 10 to start mind you I paid off my first agreement with them and they tacked on an extra $100 I said then I would never work with this store again. So by the time I got my items I was 4 weeks later and it was time to pay again which made no sense since I was under the impression it took so long because they had to order the furniture and when I called a week prior to receiving my items to find out why its taking so long they told me I would have to order it which is and other 3wks and up to 2 months or they said you can get the used items. I was thirsty so I said sure do I get a discount on the items they said yea yea real fast and placed the order and told me it would be able to be delivered in a week so yes 4 freaking weeks later the bill is due as if I even had something that last 3 weeks. My first order took 2 days to place order and get delivered so this was retaliation from before because I don't play that period. My due dates do not align with my pay dates and I stated that $6 fee extra every month no one will explain nor have they taken off or asked if I wanted it they are extremely unprofessional and should be evaluated for sure the way they answer the phones to the misleading statements ATTENTION PLEASE CLEAN HOUSE. I called back after manager screamed at me and assistant manager hung up on me to obtain the Managers name. He asked my name and I told him he deliberately said the manager will call you back Miss Jackson (as if I'm sorry Miss Jackson in the Song) Rude unprofessional unacceptable and I demand for my account to be moved to another store and they be looked into. I can't imagine how many hopeless people this store has mislead for sales and to be able to stay open. I called corporate in hopes of a solution in 24-48 hours but this issue is far from dead and the harassing if you are even 1 day late everyday until you pay is absurd and shows poor and unethical business practices.

I'm normally not one to complain (especially to a higher level than local management) but I have brought the issue up to local management without any changes. There is an employee/management at the Big Spring location that has been extremely and very obviously rude to me every time I encounter him. The first time was a few months ago when I tried to rent a few things with very little knowledge on the rental process. I had done an online order and was approved and charged, but when I spoke with him he was very judgemental and rudely told me that it was an error and I was denied. I was unemployed so it IS understandable, but the way he handled it was very inappropriate. The second time I tried to rent something and was approved but when I spoke with him he once again very rudely told me I was denied (this time I was employed full time). No reason was ever given to me. I did file a complaint this time and received a call from a different manager (I am not sure of her name) and although she was apologetic and assured me that action would be taken, nothing actually happened again. The most recent incident occurred this morning (10/6/22). I am very actively looking for employment and decided to apply despite all the negativity, a posting on indeed for all positions at our location popped up and I decided to apply with no hard feelings/negativity at all. I finished my application and scheduled an interview (online). My interview was scheduled for 12:45 TODAY and I received a voicemail with a very annoyed Josh saying that he didn't want to waste his time with the interview and to call him before hand to avoid doing that. I am very qualified for this position and a very hard worker so I'm not sure why he was so rude and unprofessional
Rent-a-center has committed fraud against me and they lie everytime I call for help!
I made a down payment online September 4, 2022. I was chatting with a representative when i signed the agreement with DocuSign and emailed it back. Don't want to make this long and drawn out but as soon as I emailed the signed contract back I received an email saying the purchase was cancelled. The representative said nothing else and gave no reason why. My down payment was made two days prior was not returned. I emailed and sent a message to corporate telling them to reimburse my payment. They told me to go to the store I made to purchase. I explained I did it all online. No matter, anyways I found my nearest store and they said the order was automatically cancelled because I lived outside the service area so really I don't have a local store but he said it was pending and to give it 2-3 says. So I waited a whole week before I called back and a different guy said it was pending and for me to give it a couple of days and call back if it doesn't go back in my bank account. I waited 4 days and this time a different guy who says he's the manager and says he will do whatever and give it a day or two. I waited a full week and called and a different guy answers and says he's the manager and he takes down my info and says he's calling corporate and will call me right back. That was on a Monday but I never heard anything and called back Wednesday and same lies. I know they have to wait so long to get commission or good store numbers after a rental to be counted and that's why the won't give my money back. Wednesday when I called the guy said I mean it's only $10 and if I would just come by the store he's give me $10! Thats proof of what's going on. I contacted my bank but it's not enough. I really wish the manager of the Gadsden, AL rent-a-center would lose his job because he's a liar and holding my money for ñMy name is Patrick Brown.

Harassment by Store Manager
Today Sept. 19, 2022 at approximately 11:10 am EST I received a call from Devonta the New manager of store at 3308 Bragg Blvd Fayetteville NC. I was a 19 yr customer until june 2022 when Devonta became manager. I had issues with my accts and jsut paid them all off on Sept. 9, 2022. I had spoken with Devonte numerous times in person and on the phone. he did nothing but put me down and tell me what a 19 yr customer is saying is wrong. Anyway, Today he calls me because he DOES NOT like the review and warnings I posted about that store and his attitude. He basically said I am a liar. ThIS is harrassment and IS AGAINST THE LAW. I want something down about this and I want to know the outcome. I do NOT expect you to sweep this under the rug and do nothing about it. I trust you will make this situation right. Also I have a serious heart issye called A fib. Because of this call my heart rate is unstable and if it cannot be controlled I will be admitted to the hospital all because this manager did the wrong thing. please call me at [protected]
Desired outcome: Very least written reprimand, an apology and re train manager to treat all customers with total respect. Reviews are written everyday and no ONE has the right to harrass you for writing a bad one.
I had a rent center employee come to my job 2 days in a row after being told they could come get the washer and dryer, he showed up at my job the following day and refuse to leave unless he spoke with my supervisor I told him my super had nothing to do with my issue with them he said he was not leaving until one came out ,my supervisor came out and he shared my financial information with her from them and also from another company that has nothing to do with rent a center he also told lies he shared my payment amount how much I owe an also threaten to keep coming back unless I made my payment which I could not make until Friday, I get coming to my job but refusing to leave my office an my job until he spoke with someone who had nothing to do with the issue,him an store manager came over the next morning to get the items an the store manager said he gave him permission to do so….. I’ve filed a complaint to the headquarters and I’m also consider legal action because he violated the consumer act law here in Mansfield Ohio.

I made a payment. It said pending on my side for weeks - still does. so I called my bank amd they said it was on their side. They even admitted it happens with a certain banking institution. So I said when it is rectified I’d continue payment. They have HARASSED ME DAILY. They won’t give me other options for payment, so I called corporate who told me to send payment to them. The original site has continued to harass me daily threaten me and be rude to me. Now corporate is saying that they may not accept my payment and are refusing to stop her calling me EVEN THOUGH IM PAID UP.
Desired outcome: I want them to stop calling me and let me pay corporate and not Woodbridge va because she’s a JERK

I have dealt with Rent-A-Center for many years. I have rented and paid off many items. I have recently moved to Pennsylvania. I am now using a different store than I am used to. The one is Tennessee was fantastic. The one in Mansfield is a nightmare. They are not helpful in finding you what you need. You wait over a week for delivery. Then, they had a flat tire, now I have to wait another week to get my products, couch and washer/dryer set. I have already paid, this was done the day I rented, however its two weeks later that I will get it. I sure as hell hope they do not think they are getting anymore payments until I have the products. This particular store is poorly managed, as I stated, I have had great service before.
Desired outcome: I would like for someone from corporate to go in and get this store on track with the rest of the stores. If this were my first experience with Rent-A-Center, I would never do business there again. This store could cost you customers.
Store manager
I am a current employee at the 5600 Mykawa location in Houston, TX 77021. I have had nothing but issues with the Store Manager named Kassie since I been here. Last week I was a minute late and she had me to wait in the parking lot until she got there which was an hour and a half later and then told me to go home. The next day I came to work at my appointed time and had Travis (another employee) to tell me that I could not come inside the store and I needed to contact Ray (District Manager). On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, I went to work at my appointed time and Kassie printed out paperwork for a customer's home she needed me to go visit. I went to the address on the paperwork and when the customer called her she called me yelling talking about I went to the wrong place but this was the place she sent me to so I am not sure how I went to the wrong place and it was the only paperwork I had at the time. When I got back to the store she continued to yell at me and talk to me disrespectfully and I did raise my voice at her at that time so she sent me home for the day and told me I had to wait outside for my ride and that I could not wait inside the store. So when I arrived at work today at my scheduled time the store was not open so I called Travis to see what time he was coming in because no one was at the store at 9:30 to let me in. He said he was scheduled to come in at 10:00 and he don't think I'm allowed in the store and I need to call Kassie. So I called Kassie and asked her why I was not working today and Kassie stated that I am not working in her store at all and she can't work with me. Now mind you Travis was supposed to be in her wedding but when she called him a [censored] [censored] [censored] and they got into it and it told her to call her fiancee to come fight him he backed out of the wedding because he no longer wanted to be in the wedding after that. Now Ray (DM) which is her friend was in her wedding this past Sunday. Now Ray is telling me that he have to find me a place that needs another person because all of his stores are full right now. So I am now out of job basically because you were talking to people about your wedding and printed out the wrong paperwork and get upset with me because you made a mistake and furthermore think I'm going to let you downgrade me and talk to me like a dog. I am an adult just like you. I should be respected just like you feel like you should be. Even a customer named Sheila said she was going to call the corporate office on Kassie because she doesn't know how to talk to anybody respectfully and the lady heard her yelling at me as well. Won’t rent to me
Was a customer for 13 years at alcoa tn and maryville tn stores zack was manager and john was dm the first 8 yrs went great exec service and quality merchandise, john even finished the payoff on a entertainment center if I rented a washer and both I still have 15 yrs later, but the del service started getting bad got a refrigerator and they tore my door and dented the refrigerator instead of taking doors off fridge, got a lap top for wife 6 month end the screen got a huge green line going through it it went to service like 5 times and still never got fixed. Janet was at alcoa tn store with zack then. Your corporate office made good on that and for that wife was grateful, we have had a couple things that needed repairs following that and we had to complained to john and zack a lot till they got repaired or replaced, I figured that if I have to pay a lot of money I always got new never previously rented but the one time I did it was a bunk bed for my handicap daughter your guys set up in my living room I was redoing my daughters floor, about a week maybe 10 days later she has a lot of small bites on her we removed the mattress didn’t seen nothing it wasn’t until I unscrewed the wood slats when we say the bed bugs, your co sent someone out to check and underneath all the box spring boards was infested. Your company had to flip the bill for getting rid of them and replace ins things that got infested, to make a long story short I went into the alcoa store before zack left and john was there with him was going to rent something zack said I couldn’t rent anything else I asked him way he said I need to talk to john, he got john to come out and this is what john told me he wasn’t renting to me because I had cost the company to much money and that I went over his head to have things done that he wouldn’t, how is anything that happen my fault? 13 years I was a good customer and at least 18-20k of my money. Paid off a lot of stuff with no complaints, dustin is managing store now I went in there to rent a new refrigerator and he told he he would have to call john he went into office came out and told me that john said no he has never forgot me going over his head I asked dustin about it he just shrugged his shoulders and said sorry and he koans I was a good customer, I have brought a lot of referrals to rac and would like to stay a customer what can we do to fix this? Something that wasn’t my fault I wound up going to conns home furnishings to get my refrigerator at less the price from rac but I go ticking the people janet, zack dustin and other staff I all falls to john using his muscle to pick who rents and who don’t. Unauthorized credit card charges
My name is Sherri Hubbard, ID Membership [protected]. I rented from the 3725 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN 37218 location. I rented a washer and dryer sometime in April. I cancelled my rental around June 17 and the store picked up the merchandise around June 20. The last time a full payment was made was June 18, 2022 in the amount of $58.44.
The company is still taking a $6.00 charge from my bank account. I called the store and the representative, Ebony Commerce, I believe that is her name, said it was the insurance they forgot to stop automatic payments. She said she would stop the charge, and a manager would call me regarding a refund. As of today, August 27, 2022, another payment was deducted from my account. On August 27, 2022, I called the store and spoke with Ebony again and she stated she stopped it. She said she would remove the card on file(card ending in 9850) and that way, nothing else would be taken out of my account. I asked for a refund, she said she would give me customer service number, asked me to hold on, then hung up on me. I tried calling back, but the call doesn't go through. I would like an apology
I have 2 separate accounts one for my house and one where I stay at with my boyfriend the manager knew this. My daughter pays the washer and dryer and my boyfriend pays the bedroom set he is currently in the hospital. And is out of work while explaining this to them the manager snatch the phone screaming I got to talk to her because I called to pay my washer and dryer she proceeded to yell at me saying she needed me to pay for everything the washer and dryer and the bedroom set I set no I can't do that my boy friend pays the bedroom set and there to different accounts she said oh well there in your name. And hung up on me before screaming at me saying she is coming to pick the bedroom set up and wont take my payment till she gets everything.

When setting tv up it was noted that entire screen was cracked. I already paid for first month and haven't even been able to watch it. I will take a comparable btv instead of this one. This set seems flimsy and not sturdy at all. Not your fault, nor mine. I woukd like a new set ASAP please. Even if it has to be a couple of inches smalker, I will accept that. Thank you
Tv screen was broken when it was unboxed but couldn't see how bad damage was until it was plugged in. It's awful. It couldn't be watched at all. Entire screen is cracked.

Ashley Wiggins - rac store in Conway Arkansas: bunk beds that I still have never received almost 4 months later
I just want to first of all say how disappointed I am overall with the whole experience. I ordered a special order twin over full bunk bed and paid the start up fees the last week of august I was told the bed was a special order that it could take up to 3 weeks to be delivered I said that that was fine it was the one my kids wanted so I waited 4 weeks and called to check the status was then told that the service order was for no later than the date I had called was told that they were going to send an email to management to figure out what the issue was and that they would call me back by the close of business that day. Which of course didnt happen so I waited a couple of days and called back I was then told that they had to go to little rock to pick up the bed and they didnt have the mattresses I waited a couple more days and called back and requested to speak to management he ensured me that he was going to get the issue resolved I told him at this point I just need a bed for my kids. He told me he would see what he could work out and ensured me he would get the issue resolved he never called back I waited another 3 weeks and called back and talked to the same manager who questioned my intelligience saying the beds were delivered when I kept insisting no they were not he called his workers who yet once again "went to the little rock store to pick up the bed and they didnt have the mattresses" (a different one mind you even though I have no idea what happened to the initial bed frame they supposedly picked up weeks ago but didnt have the mattresses for) I got highly irritated after that and the manager said he was going to call the jacksonville store and see about getting mattresses that they had them in stock and he ensured me the issue would be resolved that day... Needless to say that was weeks ago and I still have no beds for my children who were so excited about their bunk beds. This is the most disappointed I have ever been in customer service from any store

desktop gaming computer
already have a 75 inch tv. decided to get a desktop gaming computer. signed up online tom get from from decatur illinois east store. they said to order new would take 4 to 6 weeks that there was a used one at another store could get right away. the next week was supposed to be delivered twice and never showed up. finally the third day i went to pick up. when got to store he said it actually wasnt working so had to send out for repair. he then talked me into getting a gaming laptop and said would be a short time and then would switch out for the laptop and transfer payments made. it has been over a month and i have called several times and says not back yet. i dont want a used computer that was broken. i could of had a new one by now. also advertising a new hp gaming computer now. i really have no use for laptop. dont want to put much on it cause expecting to be switched out anyday. name is christopher t. comp. rent from decatur illinois store on east william st

Bedroom furniture failed to be picked up after husband's death.
My husband passed away July 3rd and I have been trying to get Rent a Center to pick up his bedroom furniture for almost 3 weeks now. After I finally got hold of someone at the Burien WA store, (they were not answering their business phones for 4 days), we finally set up a pickup time. Well, they never showed up. No call, no nothing. This happened twice! The kid working at the store Jesus kept making excuses. He was extremely rude and very unprofessional.
Scheduled another pick up date, but I'm not holding my breath.

I was a former employee, and I feel as if I was demoted for doing my job, and also was supposed to have Brice call me and never received a call. Now as I hear the store manager has been fired and i honestly don't think Kathy's boss ever found out about how mistreated. I've left complaints and messages and haven't received any apology or explanation anywhere! I loved my job as a CAR at RAC however just not with the co-workers I once had because of all the scandalous things they were doing. I would really like some answers please.

I order the desk and chair combo with the gaming computer
1. I work from home when I order my computer chair and desk I specifically said I dont want no used items in my home due to covid I recieved the first computer a loaner in which I couldnt use because the keys wasnt working about 4 days later they bring a gaming computer sayes its new but why wasnt it in a box. They said I have to puchase speaker so I can listen to the youtube or if I want to play a presentation for my job this I have a friend with the same computer she dont have no problems playong her computer on top of that when they brought the headset s they were used who going to put headset on their heaed used. The first time I got the computer the delivery dudes didnt even hook it up im disable im not suppose to lift anything over ten pounds they left the conputer in a box im not sure if anything was new but my contract sayes my items are the led light chair nevered worked I was told they irdered the part when I call it o someone order someone gone call you back and I hear nothing else I need some assistance in this situation and will be contaccting consumer service, bbb, abd the news mediai have no problems with the money I want all new furniture and thats final

Sofa Sleeper adventure/ damage to my wall
I rented a Sofa Sleeper from the Mckinney Texas store for one week, on the day of pickup, I called and found out that I was not on the schedule, after speaking with the store sales person I was given a time frame from 5/7, at 530ish I got a call to inform me that the drivers was on their way, driver shows up pulls out a red label (Looks like we missed YOU!) placed it on my door and left, I watched his whole action from my office window, I called his boss and he sent them back, once they got back I noticed that they damaged my bedroom wall forcing the sleeper out, I would not recommend rent-a-center to my worse enemy, they deserve a rating of ZERO Stars
