bagels
This is the 3rd time I have bought you dozen bagels and every time they are hard as a rock in less than 48 hours after buying them. I thought that I would try them one last time because I watched them put new bags out I won't be buy you baked goods anymore its not just bagels that go bad fast your doughnuts as well as your muffins and bread do not last as long as they should. Very disappointing.

We were served by Alicia Michele in Berkeley. We are disgusted at the treatment we received. She was rude, abrupt and acted in an extremely unprofessional manner.
We shop in Safeway on shattuck avenue every week and have never had any problems in the store until today.
We are all 21 and went to buy alcohol showing our legitimate ID. As our ID is Irish she would not accept it and asked for a passport. Once we presented the passport she decided to only let us buy half of our groceries. And simply said "hmm no I'm not going to do it today, have a good day". If Alicia decided the ID was acceptable for half of our groceries (which it most definitely is) she had no right to decline the rest of it.
This is extremely aggrivating and offputting for regular customers. We would like to let a higher member of staff be aware of this before other customers are served by her and decide they are also going to shop elsewhere from now on.
deli department

I've been buying prepacked fully cooked pastrami, Foster Farm brand and have been asking the Deli department to help slice it for years. It takes them less than 1min to help with this service. Been doing this for for over 5 years.
Yesterday, I asked if they can help slice it, 1 of 2 Caucasian girls (only ones there at the time) told me "No we won't slice it, we never had and never will!"
Extremely rude!
Unless the policy has changed and I'm not aware of this she still does not have to be so rude. Also, I am an ex-employee from the Diamond heights store so I know we've provided this service.

I was at a local store shopping today, while waiting in line to pay for my groceries I don't know what had happened but an employee just walks off the job and never returned. It left us customers waiting in line for a very long time. Another employee had to take over her spot because we did not know she had gone. The customer in front of me left because a simple 5 to 10 min wait took more than over half an hour. I would have left also but I needed my groceries. It had customers in line waiting patiently. This should not be tolerated because you have customers walking out on your buisness because you don't know what everyone time is used for. This is gonna make customers not want to come to your location or business anymore
self serve checkout accused of theft

My daughter was using the self serve check out when the attendant accused her of shop lifting. She explained to her that she hadn't finished and she had not gone to Pay Now so was still in the process of shopping. The attendant took all her shopping to another counter and re scanned all her shopping and then she paid. My daughter was so embarrassed by the whole episode and deserves an apology, how can you accuse a shopper of shop lifting in the middle of doing their buying. My daughter is a bit slow and would not stick up for herself but she is definitely not a shop lifter. Regardless of an apology we will never shop at that store again. We spent nearly $200 between the 2 of us today so I am sure Aldi (which is next door) will appreciate our custom. Val
sales prices advertised do not ring up
This issue happens every single week. The most recent one was June 30, 2018
The issue is advertised specials that do not ring up the sale price at checkout. Every single time there are 1-2 items that do not reflect the correct price.
In this most recent one there were two discounts for Casa Sanchez guacamole:
Regular price $7.99
Club price $6.99
Personalized coupon $1.00 off (expires July 4)
So the price should have been $5.99
Neither discount rang up and I was charged $7.99
There was no problem getting the refund; there never is.
The problem is the frequency of this occurrence. It occurs so frequently it ceases to be just an annoyance at having to go back there but instead feels like a bait and switch.
Even if not, then there is a serious quality control problem with the person or software that is supposed to enter these discounts in your computer.
also, though they always refund the money, they do nothing to correct it in the computer for the next person.
This problem really needs to be addressed.

Complaint: Upon checkout at the Self-Checkout, my husband and I were having a problem with scanning the fresh corn. There were 2 clerks that were working at the Self-Checkout. One of them was Tehane and the other was Courtnie. Tehane was busy helping customers and Courtnie was pacing back and forth and assisting no one. I asked her for help and she stared and me with a blank look, turned away and kept pacing back and forth. My husband and I just stood there and stared at her in disbelief wondering if she was going to assist us. Finally after quite a bit of time, she looks at us from afar (still with a blank look) and I say that the corn is not scanning properly because it's on sale and not reflecting the correct price. She doesn't even come over and proceeds to say, "It is scanning correctly!". She says this with a bad attitude. At this point, my husband and I were so frustrated we didn't care that the corn was scanning incorrectly, we just wanted to get out of the store. After we processed the rest of our groceries. I headed to the Customer Service counter. Yet again, we get poor customer service. There's a long line at the counter and no one is there. I ask a gentleman if the counter is closed and he says that someone is in the room in the back of the counter but they haven't come out in a long while. Sure enough, when I look beyond the counter, there is a female and a male chit/chatting and oblivious to the long line outside. The female finally comes out after about 2 minutes (I timed it) and I proceed to tell her what happened at the Self-Checkout. I mention to her that there were 2 clerks. One of them is Tehane and the other one, I think is Courtnie...I caught a little glimpse of her nametag but wasn't positive because she kept hiding her name tag. I also mention that the clerk knew we were upset because of the poor customer service and the bad attitude that we got from her and when I tried to look at her name tag, she put her hand over it and kept turning sideways away from us. So I asked for the name of that clerk and the Customer Service female kept shrugging her shoulders and refused to give me her name. My husband and I repeatedly ask for her name and she kept shrugging her shoulders. Then the male Customer Service rep came out from the side room and apparently he heard the conversation and he leaned over towards me and whispered that her name is Courtnie.
The reason why we were in the store in the first place was to do our banking at Bank of Hawaii which is located in the store. Against our better judgement, we decided to do our shopping since we were already in the store. Our family, friends and co-workers have all mentioned that Safeway has the worst customer service but it was a matter of convenience since we were already in the store doing our banking. Now we know better than to shop there. We were always told to shop local...KTA and Sack 'n Save. It's very sad that Safeway in Hilo has such a bad reputation...no Aloha!

pricing error / extremely rude night manager
In the produce dept, cherries were on sale for $2.88 and so we picked some up. When we checked out, we noticed the price of the cherries we $5. When we brought this up to the produce clerk, she just said "yea, they're in the wrong place. I asked if I could get it at the price on display and she said she would have to ask her manager. She called the manager and the manager told her there was nothing she could do as well.
I then asked to speak to her in person. She came out of the back with the most UNFRIENDLY and HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. When I explained the situation to her, she just "I'm not giving you the difference". Judging from her demeanor and horrible tone, I knew she wasn't going to listen or try to resolve the situation in any meaningful way. The only thing left for me to do was get her information and try to get resolution from someone at a different level.

I bought a 2.6 pound Tri tip but when I brought it home I took it out flipped over and there was about 2 inches of fat on the bottom I would say I only got about 1 pound of Tri tip out of it

monopoly prizes
I won three Shutterfly photo book prizes on the latest Monopoly contest. Each of the three prizes had a unique promo code and it went on to say that "Promo can only be redeemed once per account and/or billing address. This offer code can only be used once." This was the same verbiage that was used on the three codes that I wan for reusable shopping bags. I have redeemed the three codes for the shopping bags on one order. Now, when I try to enter the codes for the photo books, I am being told that I am entitled to only one photo book. The way that I read it is that each prom code can only be used once and a different promo code could be used by the same person. Obviously that was Shutterfly's interpretation on the shopping bags. How can I receive the prizes that a won?
gasoline services
Brandon P. On commercial ST in Salem, OR has been rude every time I have come for gas. I have stopped coming into the station for gas, because I have waited over an hour to have someone take the pump out of my tank. Brandon P. has questioned when I have paid in cash, because his co-workers didn't tell him. Customers should be a priority. I have worked in customer service myself and I leanred customers are always right. I called the PIC on duty tonight and he said he can't do anything. I know he could talk to Brandon and leave a note for management . But in the long run I hope this is taken care of.

My husband and I purchased a Plated dinner box on Monday, June 25th. Today is Thursday the 28th and were going to cook it but started opening and the chicken stunk terribly through the packaging and once opened was horrific. The peas were also soggy and old. The expiration date once we looked was June 21, which is four days before we even bought the product. I was hoping for a refund or something for our troubles. Thank you.

The Safeway store located in Lakeview, Oregon is below adequacy. The isles are not large enough for two carts to pass by each-other. Everything is to packed in that it is almost claustrophobic at some times of the day. A increasingly large number of people occupy this town and all other services have expanded and adjusted. Safeway should too. The produce is almost always below par in freshness and visual terms. The variety of produce and other products is laughable. A bakery and deli center are also very much needed. The people of this town provide a great deal for their state and community and would like the same effort reciprocated. Thank you for your time. I very much hope to see some changes soon.

The Safeway in San Ramon is the worst operated grocery store I've ever been in.
I just moved here, and every single time I enter this store, it's a hassle to get things done. Most of the time I have to walk all the way to the other entrance to find a handcart, and more often than not, there is a line of 5-10 people in front of the self check-out. This Safeway needs more than four self check-out stations. Today, I just got off work, went to Safeway to pick up some food, and there were only two check out aisles open, and 15-20 people were waiting in the self check-out line (@approx. 6 pm)... I walked right now and will never go back to that Safeway. I've tried to suggest to MGNT how to improve operations, but it has fallen on deaf ears. San Ramon Store needs 100% revamp and new MGNT immediately. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
The Safeway in Livermore, CA on 1554 first street is the one I used to go to, and that one was fantastic! Very well run. Perfect store to benchmark from.

Safeway in Oro Valley is my grocery store of choice. I was in the Oro Valley, deli department on 6/25/18 at approximately 1:00pm. I noticed that there was one sales person behind the counter who was bagging another customers purchases. I asked her i f she could help us next, she said she would be with me in a minute. We had been in this store earlier in the day, there was none behind the counter, however there was someone in the back room who did not come out to help us. (there was another customer waiting to be helped). When she came up to me, she had a glare on her face she never greeted me in a friendly way which is normally the way in this department. I ordered a salad and four slices of turkey. After bagging the turkey she threw it on the counter top and asked if there was anything else. Not once did she say thank you or have a smile on her fact.
Not a great customer service experience.

Cashier charged 2 items 4 time on one ticket. I tried to tell her what she did. She refused to take extra charges off. Customer service representative came to help. They continued to tell me that there was no extra charges. I asked for a manager help 3 times. They ignored my request. After I told them to void out the items. They wanted to charge me an extra 17 dollars. I was playing with SNAP so I shouldn't have owed any extra. After 20 minutes of a headache they still would not call a manager over.
restrooms
The restrooms at the Rivermark Santa Clara, Ca., Safeway are terrible. First of all, two of them are out of order and the ones near Customer Service is all that are left and the handicapped toilet should be closed due to a leak but instead, you get to stand in a pool of water while trying to maneuver the pig sock someone put down to absorb the water. The toilet seats are peeling, are full of dust and dirt on the strobes that no one has bothered to clean. Please follow up. Amber [protected].
meat counter
This is the third (and last) time I have purchased prepared meat from Safeway that is already "seasoned". I put that word in quotes because either their prep folks are extremely lazy or purposely season only the exposed surface of the meat. Basically, they put the meat on the plastic, usually overlapping, and just season the top. Nothing on the bottom or any meat that isn't exposed. So even though I'm purchasing meat that is "seasoned", I still have to season it myself. Kind of a rip if you ask me. This is the Safeway off Plum Creek in Castle Rock, CO.

This is the second time I've had a drink from the same barista and my drink has no flavor just hot milk and espresso anytime I get this drink from any other barista at the store there's flavor and I had five people in front of me ordering so I can only imagine what their drinks tasted like I've complained once already to another barista that works with her and nothing has been done about it so I'm wondering how do I get a barista to learn how to make a drinks properly

I usually go through self checkout but today I needed to break a bill into some coins so I went through and express checkout. After making my purchase I asked if I could receive some of my change in toonies. The lady rudely answered with a blunt no. I inquired as to why not and she said that she had just filled her till with them so no I wasn't to have any. She told me to go to customer service to get some but it's mt understanding that she is customer service. Very disappointed by this experience.
