Having held homeowners insurance with State Farm for over 26 years, I found the following handling of my 1st claim to be horrendous!
(Problem was water entering living room floor of residence.)
Claim filed 12/9/23, assigned to claims rep 12/11/23. I tried repeatedly to contact rep, Mike Smith, to no avail. He Says he left me voicemails, which he did not.He also says he left my wife voicemails, which he did not.
I sent numerous photos and a video to Aliya Thomas at State Farm, claims office.
After 2 weeks with no contact, I was forced to have exterior reseal work started as I continued to have water entering the house. I informed State Farm that work had begun due to no response from them.
After 3 weeks, I finally tracked down Mike Smith and was told he would look into it and get back to me. He never contacted me and nobody ever came to the house to inspect for determining claim validity.
On 1/29/24, I get a call that the claim was denied. I asked how this could be when nobody ever visited the house for inspection. I received no logical answer. She said it could be the foundation cracked, therefor would not be covered. The contractor that did the exterior repairs, Real Seal Corp., themselves stated they did not know the exact root cause, but foundation crack unlikely.
After 26 years of homeowners coverage with State Farm and zero claims, I would expect a more professional outcome. This was totally mismanaged and the outcome is totally unacceptable!
Thank you for your time and consideration.
