Water/storm damage and theft of household goods
I have had State Farm Insurance on my home and household goods for 20 years. I paid exorbitant premiums and put extra riders on furs and jewelry. I sold my home and prior to removing my household goods from the home, I called and spoke to my local State Farm contact Michael Griffin located in Dunmore, PA. I asked if I was covered for storage and transport of my goods. I was explicitly told yes, I was covered. I chose a local moving company in order to support a local company. BNT Movers in Covington Township, PA. Tony Bader is the owner. Tony assured me that my household goods would go into a brand new facility with temperature control that he just acquired. The company removed my household goods from the home two days prior to the closing on my home, When BNT was delivering to my home in Georgia that I had built, I received a phone call from Mr. Bader when they were approximately half way to my home. Mr Bader informed me that my household goods were damaged and he would let me know the extent of the damage upon arrival at my home. He would not tell me anything else. I was so sick with worry I was vomiting. Most of my goods were damaged, sopping wet or missing. The bill of Lading wasn't even the same one that was used when they took my goods. I immediate made a claim with State Farm. I asked State Farm to come to see the damage. They cancelled the visit. They approved the claim. They then reassigned the claim to someone who denied it, claiming they do not cover mold. There was not mold. Mold was secondary to water/storm damage. The items sat on my driveway and I had to get rid of them due to vermin, heat from sun, etc. 12 months after fact they asked if I still had items. No I did not. They kept giving me new claim people. when one would approve the claim, they would give me someone else. up to 16 claim people. I would like my claim paid so I can move on with my life. it is 3831T979P and 38Z0T017Z. They opened two claims for some reason and had me running up and down the highway to PA and back. My phone number is [protected] I am so tired of them playing checkers with claims examiners. I have told all I know to tell and am tired of being treated like a common criminal. I know there are people out there that do try to claim insurance by lying but my son and I walk with GOD. I have replacement coverage as well. One claim adjuster actually lied to me claiming she had nothing to do with the claim when I called to follow up on the claim. I have all the dates and names of everyone I spoke with and she sure did speak with me and each and every claim person told me it would be completed by the end of the week, the current calendar week I spoke to them. I would hae to start all over again the very next week with a new claim person. This is very poor customer service and someone within the company needs to address the problems and get to the root cause of these issues.
Desired outcome: I would like my claim paid so that I can move on with my life. I cannot afford to live like this with nothing. We slept on blow up mattresses for I can't even remember how long.
Property/homeowner's insurance claim
This is an email I sent to the Claims Dept. & Customer Solutions Dept. on 10/4/2022 and no one has bothered to get back to me.
"Attention Claims Department and State Farm Customer Solutions Department.
I am reaching out to Customer Solutions for assistance with claim number XX-XXXX-XXX. I implore for someone to please take a detailed look at our claim which was filed on our behalf by Storm Life Solutions LLC on 5/11/2022 due to damages caused by a storm in our area on 4/30/2022.
It has been more than 7 months and we are still struggling to get this claim resolved. Attached is a letter detailing all of the ups and downs we have experienced as State Farm customers. Never have we been treated as if we are begging for money. All we ask for is for a fair settlement that should've been resolved months ago.
Upon reading the letter, you will notice that the last update as of 10/3/2022 states that my contractor/public adjuster agreed to pull a shingle sample for the claim handler/adjuster to pick up and submit the State Farms investigation department. This sample should have been picked up today 10/4/2022. I sent a text message to my agent Grace Murray as soon as the sample was pulled letting her know the sample was ready as she had agreed to let Sarah Constance know to pick it up. My contractor also sent Sarah Constance a text message letting her know the same. It is now passed 6:00 PM and I had to call my agent to confirm the message was received since a response was not received and the sample has not been picked up. During this call, my agent let me know she would personally pick it up tomorrow 10/5/2022 from my property and send it to State Farm's investigation department via UPS next day if necessary. At this point, I don't know what to expect anymore!
As you can see, we have been more than patient with this case, but we are running out of time and patience. The weather is unpredictable, and rain is in the forecast followed by snow. Also, the situation inside our second floor continues to get worse every time it rains as water gets in between the walls due to roof damages.
All we ask is to be treated with respect and fairly since we have been loyal State Farm clients for years. I look forward to getting solution soon and really hope State Farm stands by their process as stated on their website."
Attention Customer Care Department,
This letter is to seek customer assistance with homeowner’s claim number 13-33V7-40J was submitted to State Farm Claim Department on our behalf by Storm Life Restoration LLC on 5/11/2022, for severe damages done to our property due to hail and heavy winds in our area on April 30, 2022. An adjuster by the name of Titus was assigned to the claim and was in touch with our Contractor/Public Adjuster with whom he scheduled the first appointment to assess the damages but was cancelled due to rain forecast. A second appointment was scheduled at my property, but the adjuster failed to bring his own latter to climb on the roof to assess the damages. Therefore, my contractor/Public Adjuster offered him to use his latter. The adjuster proceeded to say he was afraid of heights but managed to go up on the roof. While at the property State Farm’s adjuster verbally mentioned to my contractor that there were enough damages to replace the roof and that he would submit it as such. At this point, the adjuster failed to inspect the inside of the house on the second floor where there was water damage as mentioned on the claim when it was submitted. We received an estimate by mail after the claim was evaluated and a decision was determined by State Farm for the damages based on what the adjuster had submitted, indicating the damages were less than our deductible and it only qualified for repairs. Since my husband and I disagreed with the decision, I proceeded to email State Farm Claims Department on 6/10/2022 requesting for the claim to be reopened considering not all damages were assessed for and based on what the adjuster had told my contractor in addition to all the damages found by my contractor while doing the property inspection. State Farm Claims Department proceeded to reopen the case and assign a new adjuster on several occasions once on 6/11/2022 and the second on 6/20/2022 and a third on 7/25/2022 (Sarah Constance). On 7/25/2022 and 7/29/2022 I shared via email all the pictures taken by my contractor showing the damages found to our property.
The first meeting at my property with the new State Farm adjuster and contractor/public adjuster was to take pictures of the internal damages and for my contractor to pull a shingle sample to submit an ITEL report. He offered to pull a sample for her as well, but she said no and said she would need to come back with a latter service for her to reassess the roof damages.
By the second appointment, the ITEL results had come back and indeed the results came back confirming the shingle is no longer made which I proceeded to share via email with State Farm Claims Department. At this appointment on 8/26/2022, State Farm’s adjuster proceeded to reassess the roof damages. My contractor brought a shingle sample of a similar match as indicated on the ITEL report to do a match and in fact if was not a match (different size and color). After adjuster Sarah Constance completed the reassessment of the roof, she proceeded to say (this time directly to me, not my contractor) that “there were enough damages for a replacement” but to give her a couple of days to submit the report and await her manager’s response.
A few days went by, and Sarah never got back to me, nor updated the claim status online, or called or emailed to give me an update on the claim. I’ve constantly be the one calling and leaving voice messages or my contractor doing the same to get a response or me reaching out to my agent to contact her.
The last conversation I had with Sarah the adjuster was that the ITEL report was accepted and to give her 10 days to get me a response by September 29th. She never called or emailed. I left her voice messages on her work and cell phone number, my contractor tried reaching her as well. Comes today Monday, October 3rd and I decided to talk to my agent. At the same time, my contractor finally got a hold of Sarah who tried to conference me in but was not on the call anymore as she picked up a call from my agent reaching her as well. They conferenced in my contractor/public adjuster and told him that State Farm did not accept the ITEL report and that he needed to pull a shingle sample for her to pick up and submit to run their own report. This is something that could’ve been addressed months ago when he offered to pull her a sample. Being proactive and efficient goes a long way and saves a lot of headaches, misunderstandings, and frustration.
We are now talking 7 months into the claim and State Farm has not provided a solution to our claim. The last update is that Sarah Constance is to come and grab a pulled sample from my contractor to submit to State Farms investigation dept and verify if the shingle is longer made. Based on those results I will get a final decision. Now to wait at least another two weeks.
The service has been horrible to deal with and the back and forth asking for one thing, then the other or that they need time to determine a final decision has been long extended. My patience is running out and my frustration has been growing knowing winter is near and this claim remains unresolved.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology for how long this claim is taking. Then for a fair solution to be offered by State Farm as quickly as possible.
Abraham jones, claims agent for claim 4033p089d
I was wrecked by one of your insured on 2May of this year, the accident required that i be bused to the nearest ER for injuries sustained in the accident.
Despite this, I filed/ opened the claim on 4may; Cynthia Fortune was the assigned agent.
By the 6th, I was informed that lindey corely (your insured, also found responsible for this 3 car accident, at the scene) had obtained an attorney who had advised him to NOT speak to you (his insurance company). Sensing OBVIOUS concerns, i also obtained an attorney.
By the end of July, I received an voice message from on abraham jones, requesting consent to recover my vehicle for inspection. This is where the problems begin:
jones, NEVER moved the vehicle (until prompted by me to do so, as soon as i discovered it had never been moved, and was alerted to this by a sf agent who asked ME where the car was).
I have never been given an explanation, or apology as to:
1. why?
2. and more importantly why NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME TO INFORM OF THIS, specifically jones, who "owns" the claim. by the way in all of this time, I have only received 2 calls from him, and spoken to him directly or by any method 2 times as well throughout the entirety of this. both of the times i spoke to him were calls made by me. he has about a 7% availability ratio.
So, recently being totalled (by you) to the amount of $14,588, of which corely only has a remaining $11,995.60 available to pay. because of this limits issue and NO communication - my claim got queued, and you are short, PRIMARILY because you recovered the vehicle FOUR MONTHS AFTER the accident.
I am fighting insolvency, AGAIN, since this accident, as i have been paying bills, and purchasing food for my family by maxing out almost all of my credit cards.
Does any of this sound like a way you want your company's image carried? By incompetent, remorseless fools, who wont even take accountability for their own mistakes, or lack of efficacy?
0 professionalism, 0 lack of understanding about how his job functions and that he is employed by you, is not very encouraging
Desired outcome: my money (preferably 2 months ago) IN FULL, which you and corely are responsible for
Home insurance:
Originally they sent out an adjuster who said all the nice things and submitted the claim. He asked if I would like his friend to come out and give me a bid. Sure. So he came out and was so rude and obnoxious. He lied about my coverage. His bid was sent directly to State Farm Office (Mark Coleman, Napa). I never did receive any paperwork, as he just filed the claim and called me and asked me when he should come out to fix my ceiling. Never! Meanwhile, I called 2 other companies: DryWall Pros and Rick Robbins Construction. Got bids for $8500 and $8300 from each one. They were rejected because they didn't file a "detailed report" like original contractor did. (But he lied! He added things like "water extraction: $2500" that weren't even necessary). My contractor, Cary from DryWall Pros, spent hours on the phone with Tyler explaining the situation. Then claim was transferred to Kohl. Both guys were argumentative. Tyler didn't take the prearranged video call with Cary and later said they removed him from the case. Cary did all the videos and pictures and they were denied. Kohl was argumentative on his call to me and to Cary and I was in tears by the time he got off the phone.
I later complained to management (James M.) and he referred to another person named Vince. Vince wants further details, which he was given by both DryWall Pros and Rick Robbins. The ceiling is worse than originally thought. Now Vince wants pictures, although the original adjuster (Michael Blank) took lots of pictures. Monday, we called Vince, and he was so rude my daughter even "called him out on talking to me that way on the phone". I took over 40 pictures and figured out to email them to State Farm fire claims. Still not enough. Today I talked to Vince, and he still says that Cary's bid is not enough, even though it is how they do their bids for this company. Now Vince, who originally said they weren't paying to paint the ceiling, told me that they have to paint the rooms: living room, family room and hallway, But Cary hasn't filed the correct bid of what he is going to do. So now Cary is calling him again...
I have been a customer of Mark Coleman State Farm Insurance for over 25 years and feel abused after being treated like this by all these various people. Cary (and his company) will be calling Vince this afternoon. I am 70 years old and technically (and emotionally) challenged. Plus I lost my husband and I am just not up to doing all this). To have Vince tell me..."you think that State Farm should just pay you because you say so" was rude. To treat people like this is terrible.
Desired outcome: I just wanted my ceiling damage taken care of and the rooms painted. Both of the bids were in the same "ball park" except drywall pros was adding an additional $2000 to paint. Rick Robbins doesn't paint. I just want my house fixed.
Auto insurance rate dispute
I have been a member of State Farm since 1992 and have added and removed vehicles on more than one occasion in that time. Currently I wish to add an additional vehicle to my policy and am told it will cost me $116.43 per month until an underwriter can review the policy THEN reduce it. Why? I have never since the first time I applied to State Farm had to wait for a policy review. I have simply met an agent and added vehicles. I have began shopping for other insurance carriers and all of them have told me there is no reason for an underwriter review. Why am I being told I must by my agents staff? Though other companies can't match what I pay now for all my insurance needs (if I leave I am taking ALL my business with me), I will still leave based on principle alone if my 3 decades of being a customer is worth nothing to State Farm.
Desired outcome: Tell me what my monthly payment will be to add the vehicle I want to add and keep the monthly payment reasonable as is all my other vehicles. NONE of my vehicles insured by State Farm are over $46.00 a month.
Claims
I caught in a flood on Aug. 15 2022. Contacted state farm filed a claim. car moved to repair shop. state farm have receive all document supporting my claim. each time i call to check on my claim. I'm told that someone will be getting InTouch with my. My service advisor at the repair shop is getting the same answer. it going on 7weeks and my vehicle is still not repaired, non have the shop been authorize to repair my vehicle.
Non-renewal decision
Dear State Farm, I’m writing to you today for purposes of bringing to your attention an egregious injustice and damages that has been done to me by State Farm Insurance. Because of the erroneous data reported by State Farms Agent’s and the failure to fix the erroneous data, I currently have no rental dwelling policy insurance on my property located at 28 Route 4, US 4, Enfield, NH 03748. Since the non-renewal and then cancellation of my renter’s insurance policy, I have reached out to numerous other insurance agencies for coverage and they responded by refusing to cover my property due to SFI’s prior cancellation.
This all started May 2022, when my mortgage company asked for proof of insurance. I called Mike Estrada’s offices and spoke with State Farm’s Joe Hanagnan and who responded that he would send to the required proof. The next day Joe called to notify me my policy was not renewed in April of 2022. I was never notified the afore-mentioned policy was non-renewed and nor was my bank Mascoma Savings Bank. Joe found 2 water claims were previously listed on the property located at 28 Route 4, US Route 4, Enfield, NH 03748 property and it was the reason. Joe said he was working on fixing the discrepancy, but he never did. After 2 months he did get a new rental dwelling policy approved, I paid the premium on 6/28/2022. My rental property went uninsured for 3 months. I thought everything was fixed. Then I received a cancellation of the same policy on July 20th, stating the reason for the same erroneous claims. This is a blatant attempt on State Farm to “cover-up” their mistake. So claim history was never corrected.
I called Joe Hanagnan many times to not even receive a call back. I called State Farm Agent Deb Chabot’s office whom took over Mike Estrada customers, as I was told he was forced to retire. Suddenly Joe Hanagnan was returning my call, I told Deb, I was all set. Joe promised me over and over he was working on it. I contacted Verisk myself to get the information corrected. Finally, the claims were corrected with no help whatsoever from State Farm. This was finally accomplished on August 22, 2022. 4 months later.
I notified Deb Chabot’s office of the correction finally being fixed and was told Joe Hanagnan no longer works there. I had to start the whole process again with Deb Cabot’s assistants. Despite Claims history being corrected, the policy could not be re-instated. Deb Chabot assistants have been working will me, but rarely contact me. Always to tell me they are working on it. I have been calling State Farm weekly now since May.
I am now currently uninsured again. My bank is happy to provide insurance at more double the rate, that only covers their interest. So, in the invent of a catastrophic loss, I lose my house, all my capital and interest. I called several insurance groups, but due to State Farm’s erroneous non-renewal and subsequent cancellation, and ONE water claim, the only claim on the property no one will insure me.
State Farm is at fault here. I have my homeowners with State Farm since 1997. My rental property since 2001 and every vehicle for >25 years. I have reporting these events to New Hampshire Insurance commissioner and BBB. Your company needs to be held accountable for these mistakes. My constant stress and worry not mention my financial vulnerability all caused by State Farm. Seems 2 offices are unable to fix the mistakes due corporation unresponsiveness and callous disinterest. No one cares at State Farm, I will continue to tell my account to anyone whom will listen. Yes, I expect a response, as will the New Hampshire Insurance commission and the BBB.
Desired outcome: Fix the erroneous data that resulted in non-renewal and reinstate policy
Adding a family member with out my approval
I had both Auto and motorcycle insurance. My wife and I was on the Auto Insurance, covering 2 vehicles. My son and I was on the motorcycle insurance, covering 2 motorcycles. State Farm decided to add my son to my auto insurance off their assumption saying that he could be driving our vehicles. I argue that he does not drive our vehicles just one of the motorcycles that's why he is on the motorcycle insurance. State Farm refused to remove him without proof. I did not approve for him to be on the auto insurance in the first place, I should not have to prove that he does not drive our vehicles, I do not have to prove that he has his own vehicle. I was honest about my son riding a motorcycle, that is why I had him insured. I canceled my insurance to do the frustration and State Farm put me through. I talked to 2 different law firms. I will be taking this to court.
Desired outcome: Can't read my mind!? You will in court
Misconduct of employee's to a latino person with mental disability.

Hi!
I am a customer who did not receive a legitimate notice of any cancellation or inactive car insurance. I recently got into a minor accident and my insurance when I finally got through to them, hours later after deciding to use a friend's phone to contact them, I was able to send over my claim. I made the claim and they had me on the phone for about 4 hours to later finally disclose my insurance was inactive. I did not receive any messages or emails regarding a cancellation. Basically no notice! Mind you this is on the agent who accepted my payment in June because I asked for AUTO PAY to be set up because due to my work Casting I am getting 100 + calls a day and setting up auditions and all of this work from my phone. I asked for AUTO PAY to be set so I would not miss payments! No legitimate message was sent to me confirming anything. Day of my accident that's minor and I've been paying all this time here they go - your insurance was inactive. So I pay the $110 and asked for Auto pay like I did the first time! This time I'm speaking with a very kind black women who understood my frustration and actually helped me and set it up. Why couldn't this be done the last times I asked for it? Now no one recalls my asking for Autopay to be set up! What is this absolute nonsense? I would also like to be assigned to a nicer agent that takes care of their requests with urgency to avoid this kind of experience.
I still can't even log into my main account for me to make payments online. This feature was cut off and when I'd call earlier to make the payment I spoke with someone and I was placed on hold for 30 minutes. This was before my accident. I was told someone would call me back and they didn't!
Desired outcome: I would like this addressed, my claim filed and investigated as it should be, and to not have to speak to 20 people who will not resolve this matter because I will continue to push it legally if it's not taken care of.
Karla lovewell
I recently had a house fire lost everything i own i woke up to friend screaming and house just was total loss. Well i call my insurance company and they act like they are all in for me up until it took them 3 weeks to even come see damages and personal property, by that time was mostly stolen out of ther house they try to make me feel like because i was only renting my stuff dont matter. my adjuster her name is geordan and she says she help me get in a rental like the one i was renting. then she calls me after i find somewhere to move in to and say she cant let me get a houser long term that it has to be short term lease it it had to be a furnished apartment. the adjuster changed up her whole deal after our meeting at my house.Im a paying customer and i lost everything i have ever owned in this fire its crazy to me that this women can choose how everything goes and she switches everything she says after she said it. my firdt payment supposed to be 5000 from them but they cancel that and send my first check as a thousand dollar check, ive called to talk to her superviser and that guy didnt contact me either. this is the [censored]tiest ive ever been treated during a tragity, they act like im supposed to have long term housing set up already it hasnt even been 1 month and i sell stuff from home so there was no way i lost my job and my home and they treat me like im benieth them they are even calling people to see if i am telling truth about items ive had in my house and its a 60000 dollar policy it aint like i am doing this because i want to me and my daughters have nothing they wont put me in hotel nowhere close to home they got me all the way down town its 40 mins from home its crazy worst company ive ever had to deal with period

State Farm
I have a perfect driving record. The wind blew my car door into another car door in April. There was no damage. Maybe a dot. The guy filed a claim. State Farm never contacted me but I contacted them to tell them any claim by this guy was a fraud and he even stalked me into where I was going. Never heard anything. Well apparently State Farm paid him 1100 obviously fixing other parts of his car and I have a collision on my record. This is totally unethical. And they never called me. I want this so called collision of my record and I want to fight the claim. There was not $1100 worth of damage. And he needed a rental car too. There is no question this was a fraudulent claim and I am now the victim.
Desired outcome: The collision off my record and the accident free discount reapplied.
FE-5610-FE-7540 - My Rental Dwelling coverages. Carla changes this coverage
State Farm Corporate/ Head Quarters: Insured: Charlotte
Claim No: 08-34G4-39J
1 State Farm Plaza Rent Property: 1322 E, 14th St.
Bloomington, IL. 61710 Wil, De, 19802
To Whom This May Concern!
I am writing this regarding your Adjustor Carla, Supervisor-Lashawn. and so many more of your employees.
The complaint is that I have full coverage on my above property to cover the damages under my Rental Insurance policy,
Your Adjuster even complimented my home and verbally stated that there would not be a problem repairing my home and the water heater damages.
Reviewing her denial was a surprise and do not deal with my damages
Desired outcome: My water tank as well as the heating unit is part of the dwelling and coverage. Carla saw the dislocation of the tank with over 80 gal. of water pressure damaged and short in some electricity. If approached b-4 die.
The "new" big brother device to watch my car/driving in order to lower my account by 10% after they raised it 70$ per 6 months.
MAJOR safety concerns with the devices that attach to cell phones -- and using the device presents safety issues for the driver PLUS it does not work as intended.
State Farm : Are you reading your own comment sections?
Bluetooth is disabled/ it is not reading accurately on turns
Many safety issues for drivers with your device.
Do you have any plans to rectify these issues? Here are just 2 comments if you haven't been reading them for this past week.
The app can be better. One way is if I'm driving
my wites car who also has the app, it thinks I'm
on the phone while driving when it's actually
her in the passenger seat. Now when I m
driving she has to shut her Bluetooth off
Another is that it is way sensitive on turns.
can do the slowest turn but it still takes points
away for fast cornering. It also deducts points
If vour doing 8-9 miles over the speed limit. In
NY you are allowed to go 10 over and it won't
be considered speeding
I keep getting letters in the mail asking me to
update the mileage in the app and that the apr
has been notitvina me to do so (which is
doesn't- it just tells me it's recording a trip).
Then I can rarely log into the app to record the
mileage- 95% of the time its Sorry the system
is unavailable please tr again later'. The
program itself is good, but the app is horrible.
Desired outcome: Improve this device and take it off bluetooth so I am save in my car to receive calls. Improve device......or go back to not punishing 40+ year customers for not using this "poor" device.
Auto insurance claim
My daughter (insured by State Farm) was driving along safely & prudently making a turn from a side street onto a major highway that had a concrete barrier for the permitted right turn. She was struck on the drivers side and sustained damage from the rear to the front of her vehicle by an individual also insured by State Farm. The local police was nearby and summoned to the scene. The other driver admitted to the officer that yeas they made an unsafe lane change wanting to make a turn into the cvs pharmacy on the corner for a coke and it was their fault. Based on that the officer issued the driver a warning. A claim and estimate was submitted to State Farm from our local repair shop that we have used in the past because we know that they do quality work at a fair and reasonable price. State Farm not only sent her a check that was roughly $1400.00 less than the submitted estimate but also wanted her to pay the $250.00 deductible. As I explained to both the State Farm agent and their third party adjuster/negotiator my daughter would not only not be paying the $250.00 deductible but was certainly not going to pay any additional monies for the repair of her vehicle that was damaged by another persons fault/actions.
I further notified them that if not handled to our satisfaction I would be filing a complaint with the Maryland Insurance Commission, hiring a lawyer if necessary, canceling the policy to move our vehicles insurance to a different insurance company and posting their attempts to cheat her out of her entitled repairs.
This is the first of hopefully of not alot of negative reviews I have to post as I advised them I from the old school and expect their actions to be honest or every media posting that is available to me will be utilized to see how current or future clients cvan expect to be treated.
Desired outcome: pay the full claim amount which my daughter is entitled to so that she can get her vehicle repaired.
Denial of Claim
Address: 28 Flintridge Dr, Holbrook, NY 11741
DOL: 1/14/2022
Peril: Pipe Break
Insurance co.: State Farm
Policy#:56-BD-C648-7
Claim#: 32 32K 403T
On January 14, 2022, policyholders, James & Dara Golden discovered water leaking from the bathroom ceiling of their home. Tearing out sheetrock to repair the broken water pipe, revealed mold damage along the wall, in the path of where water would travel from the broken pipe.
Mr. & Mrs. Golden hired a Public Adjuster to handle the claim on their behalf. The Public Adjuster provided estimates for the mold remediation and scope of work for the bathroom repair. State Farm sent their hired hygienist to conduct a limited assessment for mold contamination. Verbiage in this limited assessment report speculate “combination of fungal species that would be indicative of long-term reoccurring water damage coupled with newer fungal growth. The reoccurring water damage likely occurred when the shower was used in the impacted bathroom, causing a slight leak at the supply line. As the leak worsened, a larger water damage event likely occurred resulting in the reported loss. Fungal amplification was found in the air samples in the primary bedroom, primary bathroom and kitchen. Professional microbial remediation is required.”
State Farm denied coverage based upon their interpretation of ‘likely reoccurring and long-term water damage’, without considering that there is no evidence nor definition of long-term water damage. This damage was behind walls, out of the policyholders’ sight until the water dripped through the ceiling. Upon exposing the wall studs during the wall extraction, there was no rotted or warped wood to support sure signs of long-term water damage.
Mr. & Mrs. Golden and the Public Adjuster repeatedly disputed State Farm's coverage denial regarding the claim. This sudden occurrence was discovered within a reasonable time manner despite being hidden from view and unknown to the insured.
State Farm adjuster Robyn, explicitly said that it's not State Farm's problem nor the responsibility of State Farm to determine what ‘over a period of time’ or ‘long-term’ are and how they are calculated. The Public Adjuster exclaimed that the policy does not state what "over a period of time" is, so the burden of proof and interpretation leans toward the policyholder. State Farm has paid claims similar to this in the past (i.e. homeowners are away from the insured property for months at a time and a pipe breaks). The response of "tough luck," from Robyn, was deemed to be extremely combative and uncooperative in properly applying the duties of the insurer.
Desired outcome: Mr. & Mrs. Golden seek proper indemnification for the hazardous mold remediation as well as repairs. This $40K estimated claim is under the policy coverage limits.
Communication
My car a 2014 Kia was stolen, a phone the police my car was recovered minus a back window and damage to my steering column. That was June 10. My car was taken to the Kia dealer where it has just sat. According to State Farm I now have to pay for my rental because I’m at my limit. My car is still not ready due to a communication problem between my insurance and Kia. I have no idea what they are suppose to be doing and they must not either. I can’t afford to pay for a rental again, but now have to depend on others, so I can get to work. Just need my car back in Memphis tn
Desired outcome: My car back
I ordered 2 scooters for 59.99 each one yellow and on blue never go them I get these stupid mirrors for $120.00 that's bull crap to top it off if I want to send them back where do I send them to no address no phone number
Property Claim Withdrawn - Still Issues with Policy - August 2022
August 6, 2022 - tree limb fell on detached garage and damaged roof. Placed a claim on August 6, 2022 through the State Farm website. Discussed claim with claim rep to find out the deductible. Discussed the damage with my husband and determined that the cost to repair is much lower than the deductible. Called back to claim rep to withdraw claim. It was closed, not withdrawn. This caused issues that we will not be able to change any of the policy for three years. Wanted to change the deductible at renewal time in December to a lower amount and pay the premiums for the updated insurance. Told by the State Farm Agent that we cannot change the insurance for three years. Underwriter told her that because it was closed that this is the policy. We have been with State Farm for over 40 years with no property claims ever. Want to be able to change the policy this December to reduce the deductible.
Desired outcome: Want the ability to change the policy in December 2022 to reduce the deductible. We realize premium will go up and are fine with it.
house repairs, roof and ceilings
This complaint is being for Kelvin Stock. On April 30th we had a storm come thru, it was terrible. It was a deluge of rain, high winds and some hail. Then on May 5th, it happened again. Not thinking anything about it, it started to leak thru the ceiling. On June 17th it happened again, a deluge of water, high winds and some hail. We had a few storms in between each one of the storms., not bad but still a steady rain.
On or about May 5th, is when we started to notice the ceilings turning color, and it was actually dripping in back bedroom. And the ceiling in the kitchen, the paint was actually starting to come down, there was a big spot in the living room, and now in the front bedroom.
Kelvin Stock, came and looked things over, showed me pictures of the roof.
Showed me a few of the pictures of the roof. I'm not sure where he got the pictures, but some don't match our roof. He would never send mean e-mail for me to look at.
Desired outcome: I want everything repaired. Before it starts to rain again.Mine Show a few nail pops, no nails in the peakI'm not sure where he got then. Photo shop maybe?
