i went into the steak n shake in monaca pa store and it was disgusting! there was poop sneered everywhere in the bathroom. it looked like it hadn't been clean in months. the servers are always rude every time i come. our server never checked on us after we got our food and after calling her multiple times as she finally came over gave us a to go cup and never gave us our check we had to ask someone else

It's not 10:52 and we got here at 9:58. 3 adults and 1 child. We haven't gotten refills or our food... And our server hasn't been back here since he took the order. Never had problems before.
It's not busy. A group of 5 adults came in 30 min after us and their server just said they're bringing their food out. This is ridiculous!
The server never came and apologized. The cook did; respectful of him even though it wasn't his fault. The order never got rang in!
The manager was being disrespected by many employees in front of the guests.
service wait time and milkshake
My wife and I were seated at steak and shake. We were 2 of 10 people in the restaurant (4 tables including ours were the only ones occupied). It took our waitress 7 minutes to come check on us after being seated. We ordered a sandwich each and a milkshake each. We received our food but no milkshakes. We received our milkshakes 5 minutes after we finished our food. When we received our milkshakes my wife's was just vanillia with whip cream on top. She ordered a cookie dough milkshake which I believe has more taste then just vanilla ice cream. This was a terrible experience and a waste of a coupon. I hope this gives grove city steak and shake on stringtown rd, grove city, Ohio a wake up call to have better service.

Hi, I am a normal customer of steak ‘n shake in indianapolis and I normally get a shake with my meal. I have orderd many kinds birthday cake, oreo, nutella. On the shake menu for example there is nutella drizzled over the shake as well. And on every shake I don't get that. I find it as false advertisement. I don't mind if there is no extra topping but I would like to see the pictures change. Either change the picture so it's not false advertisement or add the topping. Thank you
burgers were so salty I couldn't eat them. drive through took 15 minutes
I was driving by and saw the 2 for $3 sign so I made a uturn and went back. I went through the drive through and ordered a mushroom and swiss, a butter burger and a medium fry. After I paid I was asked to pull forward and they would bring my order out. After 15 minutes they finally brought me my order. It was piping hot so I drove home. The burgers were so salty. I tried the butter burger first. The sandwich was hot and fresh but one bite and I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat it. I tried the mushroom burger and it was also too salty to eat. Fries were good though.

I attempted to visit your Ireland Rd, South Bend IN store on Saturday 10/20/18 at approximately 6:30. I only intended on oredering a burger and fries, as my wife was working. Upon arriving, I noticed signs posted on the drive through menu indicating the restaurant was short staffed, and wait times may be expected. There were two cars in front of me which took a very long time. By the time I got my turn to order I was sitting there for at least 20 minutes, with no service. The gentleman in the car behind me walked up to my car to ask if I had had ordered. At that point the the drive through lady said ina nasty tone that she would be with me when she could, and that they only had two cooks. At that point, with that manner, I chose to drive off and take my business elsewhere. I am an understanding person, and have no problems being cool with situations like this, but when you are just plain rude and waste over o half hour of my time, that's a different story. Management needs to get it together. Once again it was just me. What are you people going to do when a family with kids pulls up and needs service? Certainly something needs to be done.
We have been to the Ireland Road Steak and Shake two times during the month of October 2018. Both times it has been obvious that it's understaffed. The wait staff has always been pleasant to us but they are also effected by less staff and thus more responsibilities. We have never experienced rudeness although some of the guests are less patient. Retail and restaurants, esp. fast food, are having a very difficult time hiring and keeping people due to the demand right now. Steak and Shake beats the service and wait time at McDonalds (staffed or understaffed) any time...
raw food
I am disgusted by this. I bit Into this chicken strip and discovered it was raw. I start to blast on social media but I didn't because I am not that kind of person. This is so unacceptable. I could have gotten sominella poisoning. I went to the Steak and shake on University Drive in David Florida. I called immediately and spoke with manager. I want a refund but he only offered me 10 dollars in free food.

Steak 'n Shake No:542 10/19/2018 7:55 pm. The son and I ordered chili with fries. When our food arrived we asked for some parmesan cheese for our chili and we were told they don't have any. OK. We asked for soup spoons for our chili and our waitperson was confused about "soup spoon". He left and came back with 2 plastic spoons like for carry-out. Things were not looking good for our supper. We had to ask for crackers for our chili (we asked for saltines) and our waiter came back with a double handful of oyster crackers and 3 packs of saltines. We were finally going to eat. I opened a pack of saltines and they were hard as plastic. SO no cheese for our chili, no crackers for our chili, and no spoons for our chili. We ate but left disappointed. Definitely won't go back to that store.

I visited the Schererville Indiana location at 7:40pm on Monday October 22, 2018. The service was extremely slow in the drive through even though there was only 2 cars ahead of me. Also, the restaurant was not full. I shouldn't have to wait almost 10 minutes in the drive through.
And then I get home to find that I did not even get the Mac n cheese I ordered. I received a fresco melt. The drive up girl even looked in the bag to verify the order before I left. Then I do t even receive an apology for the wait. This is unacceptable service.

First off I want to start by saying that I'm not trying to nag or get anyone in trouble. The guy working the drive thru was very polite to us. The food was a different story. It was dinner time so I understand that they're going to be more busy, but we waited for about 20 minutes and the food we were served seemed like it had been sitting out for hours. It was hard and didn't taste good at all. I would have took it back if i would have noticed it sooner. Not a good expierence

I went to steak and shake oh October 21st and it took the waitress 15 mins to bring our WATERS to the table and take our order! Than we waited an additional thirty and she can and said I'm so sorry your food should be out soon and then ten mins later we left. We o my went to the restaurant Bc CJs was closed. I would like someone to contact me and let me know what they can do for me since I received horrible service. I had my two little girls with me and I was almost late for work! I am not happy. No one there had a sense of urgency it hurt my feeling how crappy and I considerate they were!
oyster crackers
I am not sure if it is ALL of the stores but the steak n' shake in Lebanon Indiana use to have the small, good tasting oyster crackers that was great in the chili. Well for some reason they did away with the little ones for these big oyster crackers and they are nasty. They taste like crap. Please, please change back to the small oyster crackers. Why did you do away with the cottage cheese? =/ thank you
filthy restaurant
We eat at this Steak ‘n Shake quite often, (Clermont, Fl. ). Today is the dirtiest I have ever seen it. Not only trash all over the floors, but the men's bathroom. I'm sure women's too, appeared to have not been cleaned in a very long time. It was obvious that toilets and urinals had build of if dort and debris that could have no way been from the day, the smell was horrific and of course no paper towels in any dispenser. Just gives you the skin crawls it was so nasty. I know wonder if my dishes are clean and or my food preparation. I will drop this place from our weekly list before I get sick here. I can put up with the slow service, but pure filth is bad management and poor training

My husband went there yesterday at 3 he got 2 steakburger combos with milkshakes well it wasn't milkshakes it was pop and it wasn't steak burgers it was chicken i have a brain injury so when I talk ppl don't understand me so I couldn't call to complain they need to make it right I love steak n shake but I want I ordered not a pick up we won't b going back there till they fix there messed up

I pulled into drive thru and ordered. I get my food but they forgot my drink, so I went back into drive thru to get it. And then I just ordered 3 more number 1's and she had horrible attitude and for no reason. She wouldn't tell us how much my total was at all.. and when I asked she told me to leave before she called the cops. So I left without the food and was angry cause steak and shake is my favorite and I had never had a problem like this before.

10/19/2018 D. Stubbs, 2210 Meadow Glen Blvd, Franklin, IN 46131. Restaurant of inquiry: 2088 N Morton St., US 31 N., Franklin, IN 46131. Over the past 8 yrs., my health has been declining... and I say this because of my diabetes, small things to eat/drink make for a good meal...when you are limited. Over the past 6 (six) months, every afternoon or evening or every other day or two days tops, I go to the Steak n Shake in Franklin, IN 46131 and order; 2 bowls of vegetable soup and 2 extra large cups of ice (and you can quote me on this last part), "I'm willing to pay for the price of an extra large drink or whatever, that's fine". And may I also note that (through the drive-thru) for my $5 - $6 order I tip at least $5 EVERY TIME. I used to work there for one and I love that Steak n Shake's ice, but I've been a waitress more times than I can count and an "empty nester with no grandchildren yet so I feel grateful to be able to do it. THE PROBLEM; I've been told, in the last 2 month's, that they prefer not to give out the extra large cups of ice (this is over the speaker in drive-thru) and I've already said my line about "charge me whatever" and you can sense the dilemma! I've never seen the drive-thru in Franklin, IN with out cars or one coming behind me when I'm lucky enough to get there first. When a employee at the drive-thru has to get permission to serve out a extra large cup of ice, to a patron that will pay WHATEVER? Why...my medicine over the years has caused me to loose my teeth, but I have beautiful dentures, so not complaining. My diabetes restricts me to no carb, no calorie drinks I make at home. (Crystal Light) and your ice is so palatable.. with my Crystal Light it is my desert! I've lost 20 lbs., and am no longer diet restricted as long as I watch what I eat. So the new enforced policy was... if I want the 2 extra large cups of ice, I have to pay for a bag of ice... okay, I've said that all along. So now I say 2 bowls of vegetable soup with 2 extra large cups of Ice and you guys charge me for a bag of ice for that and that's fine. So this morning, 10/19/2018 ( I couldn't believe it... no cars in drive-thru and then I beat the guy coming from another direction and I was first!) Went thru my speech and was told I could not have the extra large cups of ice, but she could give me two regular cups of Ice (I never come this early in the a.m. so she couldn't have been waiting on me), so I'm telling her, no thanks I'll pay for the bag or bags of ice or for two extra large fountain drinks for the cups of ice and she offers to do the bag of ice (which by the way, no one has fountain drink ice like this Steak n Shake in Franklin, IN.) Not even the other Steak n Shakes down US 31 to Greenwood to Indianapolis. I've looked. May I suggest if your cups with your logo are so expensive your willing to loose customer's over them, cheat and buy the ones they use at the gas station's and put the logo on the straw because nobody cares. If you made all your ice machine's like the one in Franklin, IN you could open another drive-thru window for just ice and fountain drink sells. I wonder how the other customer's I've heard your employee's say "yeah, a lot of people ask for our ice" are doing... did they start visiting gas stations with the crushed ice option and just made do? Or are they at one of the 10+ new restaurants, two of which are within a block (Jerry's and Buffalo Wild Wings). The people are great in Franklin so you won't loose hardly anything, but there are more of us looking for the "top choice's") and are willing to pay for them. I did get my 2 extra large cups of ice with my soup... the manager who waited on me didn't look familiar, but then she wasn't happy over not putting soda in my cups. Sad... oh! 4 regular cups of ice. Lol!
rude management
On 10/16/18 I took my daughter for lunch around 3:30 pm. There were 4 or so other tables occupied besides us. During out time there the mgr. Bobby was continuously yelling and berating her employees in the restaurant area over an apparent schedule mistake. Our waitress Kayla got the brunt of it. I told her that I felt sorry for her as I felt it had to be humiliating to be treated like that. She responded thanks and didn't understand why she was being yelled at as it had nothing to do with her. Bobby was even in the kitchen area yelling at others while they were attempting to do their jobs. How demeaning and embarrassing this must have been for the workers not to mention how unprofessional and rude on the mgr's part. Also very unsettling for customers trying to have a quiet and peaceful lunch. Store number is 1201209
my burger/ an employee
I order the triple cheeseburger. When I arrive at the window employee, Dana H, was there to receive my money. When I gave her my money she didn't say anything and when she handed me my food and money she didn't say anything and had a really unpleasant look on her face. So, that gave me a really uncomfortable vibe and I will make sure not to go there at that time(10:36 pm). When I got home I pulled out my food; at the bottom of my fries was a smashed really gross looking burger. I pulled it out and I had grease all over my hand. I continued to unwrap the very greasy paper and I see this really messy burger. On my sandwich I asked for cheese, ketchup and mustard. It had a ton of mayo on it and really nothing else, but cheese and the burger. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to just be eating mayo as if it's ketchup. The burger was really interesting and I won't be ordering that again.

I went to the steak n shake on 1st capital in st Charles mo. Not only did our food take 25 mins to get, but our food was cold and I didnt receive an item. I order 3 burger, and chicken strips with cheese. We only got 2 burgers and chicken strips and no cheese. We were charged for everything. I would of turned around but I was already home and didnt feel like waiting a total of an hour.
window worker
the worker owed us 1 cent she gave us nothing she also took forever to give us our food when she gave it to hs it was cold. She didnt even apologize for the wait or for the cold food. when we were ordering we asked for ketchup she didnt include ketchup. she smelt like ciggars. i think that steak and shake should really improve their workers way to treat the customers especially because the customers are the ones that are paying
