I was in the Florence KY location on Feb 2nd. I noticed management leave the girl in drive thru and just walk away when she was struggling to get things done. The manager is rude to employees and guest alike. I over heard her and a waitress talking about the lack of help yet they were not helping that girl. The drive thru worker was making food and making shakes all while taking orders. I have been in early in the mornings before and seen her taking orders and serving guest in dining room as well. I even made a comment saying she is a multitasking fool. I can't remember her name but she has short dark hair a bit on the thicker side. Very kind lady and a hard worker

This was the third time I received very bad customer service the girl at the drive-thru takes a long time to respond her words are go ahead instead of Welcome to Steak and Shake I can get over that but when she slams the window then gives me cold food this was the third time it happened same girl same attitude I'm sure cooperate wouldn't appreciate being treated like this.

We went to you location in Hamburg, in Lexington Kentucky on 02/02/2018 service was horrible. The store had a normal business type of day but we had to wait a long time to be seated. Our server name was Nicholas T. We were seated and again we had another long wait for service. This is the theme of our visit that day we finally placed our order and he sent our waters out by another waitress. 40 minutes later part of our order was brought by another waitress. We inquired about when our shakes would arrive and were told not for a while and the managers were making the shakes. My sister went up to the wait station cornering our Waiter Nicholas who was doing something with his tickets and asked about the chill he said he would send it out but that took 20 minutes to happen. Finally after we had finished our meal the shakes finally arrived, it was not suppose to be our dessert. We were not the only patrons experiencing poor service several of us discussed how badly the store was run. When my sister went to pay for our meals which by the way was more expensive than it was supposed to have been, so we pay extra for very poor service. Another lady was complaining to the manager whom acted as if the lady was lying so my sister spoke up telling this manager the lady was right service was pathetic. The manager herself seem to be as bad as the staff and my sister told her she did not think we would come back after this experience. My question is this how you want customers treated, if so I suspect you will not have a store there long once word gets around. I hope you will do something about these problems quickly resolving these issues.

I visited the steak and shake in seymour indiana and was not impressed with the service. Not only did I have to wait in the drive thru for 15 or more minutes, but the time it was my turn to order I had to wait another 5 minutes... All to be told they didn't have the ice cream to make a hot fudge sundae. I found this hard to believe seen as how it is steak and shake. There was no apology or explanation for this. If this were the case how are they making milkshakes. The young cashier was not friendly either. Overall I was not impressed.

I have been a regular customer of Steak 'n Shake for twenty years but I had the worst experience of my life on Thursday 2/01/18 at the location at 2845 N. Druid Hills Rd. NE Atlanta 30329. I ordered a triple & cheese with no tomatoes and a sweet tea. It took 45 minutes to arrive and when it did, it was a double with tomatoes, and the drink was anything but tea. It was just sugar water with very little coloring. The waitress never did come back to check on us, the when we got to the register, we complained but they insisted it was a triple and that is was in fact tea. I know the difference between a double and a triple, and I know very well what tea looks and tastes like. That was not tea. She refused to adjust the bill. I said as we were leaving that I will NEVER BE BACK. That store should be bulldozed if that is how they do business. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

My mother and I eat steak n shake about 3 or 4 times a month. But today Just might be our last. We visited your store here in Orlando on West Colonial drive. Store # 280
One of The supervisor there who's name is Nick Jones was very rude. My mom was very upset and so was I. He talked down to us as if we were dumb black people. And may I add there were a few other people standing at the counter as well. The young lady that took care of us was very polite and respectful. Her name was Imani.
I'm not sure if you allow this in your company but this was uncalled for. Our bill today was $18.26 I didn't want to get my 3 kid's any food because of this. We usually spend at least $35 each time we come there. And the only reason I got my mom and grandbaby food is because she had to take her meds. I'm so disappointed in that young man. As much as we love Steak n Shake we never experienced anything like this. Thank you for your time.

THIRD WRITTEN COMPLAINT - I still have not received a reply or any acknowledgement!
Incident occurred September 2017. Me and 2 friends met for lunch at 1pm. We all ordered drinks and food. I was finished drinking my Coke when I noticed something 'CLUMPED' in my glass. Upon looking deeper into my glass and taking the matter out placing it on a napkin. We all realized it was bugs/flies clumped together approximately 10. God only knows how many I actually ingested. I immediately was sick, went into the bathroom and threw up. I have allergies to bugs and insects, and I immediately started itching and itched and was sick all week.
I DESIRE TO BE COMPENSATED or I will take this case to court, the news media and social network!

Louisville, Ky. The closest Steak N Shake around happened to close at midnight inside the dinning area but not the drive thru. A friend & I wanted to dine in. I call a Steak N Shake off Hurstbourne Prkwy (Jtown) to get a very disrespectful young guy who answered the phone saying "Steak n shake, hurstbourne" I simply asked in a polite way if they were 24hrs, he answered "Yea, 24hours" & he hung up. I was shocked because I was beginning to speak again right before he hung up. I called back to him picking up the phone for a few seconds without saying anything & hanging up. I call back a third time & he picks up the phone, waits a few seconds, then answers by sayin "Can I help you?"
Me- "I hope so, you hung up before I was finished asking you a question"
Him-"What else did you need to know, I said yea we're open 24hrs"
Me-"why are you being so rude, I don't understand. I'm not speaking rude nor with any disrespect. May i ask your name?"
Him-"...Rob!"
Me-"Rob, I don't know why you've been so nasty to me when I was simply asking a.."
Him-"You asked and I told you yea we are opened 24hrs. All day every day, what else do you need to know"
Me-"wow.. I was wanting to know if the dinning room was 24hrs as well, a simple question is worth you being so rude and mean to me?"
Him-"Yup, everything is opened for 24hrs"
& he hangs up the phone. I literally was so dumbfounded, I wanted to cry. I was embarrassed & flat out shocked that another human being would speak to another with such disrespect, when the other person was more than polite. I wanted to go up there so bad & ask him again why he was so rude but didn't want to cause any trouble. It had me feeling a weird way the whole entire night, I couldn't stop asking myself why someone would speak to anyone the way he did. I really feel as if someone should be notified at that location & have a talk with him.

So the other night I went to steak n shake in Tempe, AZ with my girlfriend around midnight. We ordered a bacon lovers burger and a western bbq bacon burger to go, and when we received it, the bacon lovers burger had nothing on it except two patties and cheese. I checked the receipt to see if they misheard the order, but it confirmed the bacon lovers burger. Unfortunately, we had already left so we couldn't have them fix the order, but given that the price of the burger was more than the western bbq bacon, and having little to nothing on it. Am i able to receive a voucher for a free burger, or some kind of gift card compensation

I went to steak and shake in Raymore, MO and immediately asked if the shakes where half priced. i was told yes, from 2-5. so i got a regular fry and a shake. i wasn't told my total and i paid and then went home to find out i was charged full price.
I then called customer service, the next day the manager and i spoke and he said he can't offer me anything free, no refund, nothing. he basically said i was lying because he told me none of his employees know what i was talking about.
I feel i should get my money back or offered something instead i was treated like i was in the wrong. i asked you if it was half priced you say yes then charge me full price. i would've never got a shake that day if i would known.
i'm highly dissatisfied with this place & believe i should get a refund or something free because YOU TOLD ME THEY WERE HALF PRICE.

so i had went to the movies and then went to the restaurant after and then i walked in and i was harassed by some girl who looked like she wanted to be pink and some man named jared and they said that i had walked out and i clearly didn't and i think that lady was being racist and you need to fix her attitude because i really don't think that's its polite to be harassed while just trying to have a fun night and get food i would really like if you can teach her it's 2018 and racism isn't allowed i would really like if you could like do something about this before i sue

We went to a restaurant to kill time to go to a movie. They took too long with our order we sat in there for 45 minutes and even seen 2 another table get their order before us. We decided to walk out and they gave us dirty looks. We walked back in to get a shake and a lady came up to us and had a whole attitude. She judged us on our race and said that we go in there all the time when that was our first time there. My friends and I feel harassed because one was African American.

We entered the Steak and Shake on 1681 Wells Road. There were two young men at the bar. One of them grabbed a menu and tried to sit us down. The other two in my party followed him and sat. I realized he did not have on a uniform and questioned if he worked there. They both responded that they did they just were not on the clock. I sat down with my party and the other gentlemen walked to our table and tried to hit on me and then another in my party. We were very disappointed with how he carried himself and that he would do so at his job even if he was off of the clock and no one that was on shift said anything to us about how he spoke to us either.

Today (Jan 26, 2018) we went to Store #281 at 3:15 pm. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated even though the restaurant was about 1/3rd full. The tables were all dirty and there was only one waitress (Jazsmyn, F) waiting on tables. We ordered a meal + a salad. They both arrived at the same time (even though we expected the salad to arrive first). She brought the wrong French fried potato's. We waited a long time for our meal and since we were seated next to the entrance, we watched as customers arrived and stood around waiting to be seated (there were 11 customers who also waited about 10-15 minutes). The Manager was helping out with checking customers out (at the register). The meal was good and the mile shake was very good. The waiting, due to an apparent lack of help, was not appreciated. We had to flag down our waitress to get our bill so that we could leave. We both love Steak & Shake and will return hoping the next time, service will be better.
#2 combo single cheeseburger and fries
I visited the Chillicothe Ohio [protected]@ 11:19 am on 1/26/18 and ordered a #2 with mayo, onion and pickles and a diet coke. The only thing that was good was the diet coke! The hamburger and the fries were both cold. The cheese was not even starting to melt on the burger. I has 2 traffic lights away and headed back to work before I discovered this and I did not have time to go back. My order # was 513265.
Needless to say, I was very disappointed!
chicken taco salad
Not only did it take 20 minutes for me to get my order which was a beef taco salad and a chicken taco salad, but the chicken taco salad was just a grilled chicken salad without croutons, I've never in my life had a taco salad of any kind with carrots and cabbage, you should not offer a taco salad if you don't know how to make one, the employees at the Pekin, Illinois restaurant definitely do not! I will not eat there again, which is sad because not only is it just across the street from where I work but I used to love steak n shake, I'm not a fan anymore

steak n shake, 1210 linton blvd, delray beach, fla. purchased on 12/2017 gift card 20 dollars and receive 5 dollars back when returned. after Jan 3, 2018.
On jan 4, 2018 around 200pm ordered food, a chili and a Wisconsin buttery sandwich and a diet coke. Went to pay cashier would not accept receipt. I took right out of wallet and gave it to her she said she could not read it. would not give me the five dollars as advertised. Manager was not reasonable to talk to.
