still on hold!
I bought a Straight talk phone Jan. 25th. My phone number was suppose to be "ported" from my Trac Phone which irroniclly is their company! I had to wait 3 days to even get service, and once I did, I only had it for a week. It quit working on a Friday, and I was told by Phillipe, Julio, and Juan " please allow us 24 to 48 hours to fix this" FOR 5 DAYS THAT IS ALL I WAS TOLD! The kicker is I have now purchased 3-$45 cards in hopes that this would be fixed. Man was I ever wrong! It is day 6 and 1:30pm my time- I have been on hold since 8 am and disconnected 4 times and STILL nothing! I am to the point where I am going to run over my phone and put it in a Valentines Day card and send it to them with love! This was suppose to be cheaper than trac-Phone and much better, but all its been is acurse! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE TO ANYONE! NOT EVEN MY WORSE ENEMY

customer & service & and website is bad
Well, mom always said if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
I really like the messenger phone, but thought that $100 was a bit much for out of pocket, but hoped the monthly savings would make up for it. It is a horrible experience to call customer service. Hard to get someone who speaks English fluently, and I can recite their script by memory (you'll memorize it too if you call more than twice; which you will!) Website offers a way to "personalize your phone with ringtones and graphics", but website says "under construction" and can not "authorize your account"? When I (finally) got through to an agent, I was told this was a national problem and to be patient. I had to go through 10 minutes of "checking my account" and the rep did not know of this "national problem" from the beginning? Now, the phone works well for the most part, and I was one of the lucky ones that got my number ported and usable in one day, but I have had an instance where I went from "25 hours" of talk time to "'0" minutes ! If you need to call on a weekend, you won't get anyone unless you press the key for wanting to buy more minutes (of course). Overall, because I paid so much for the phone, I'll stick it out. The only good thing, really, about Straight Talk is that the competition is finally making the big guys bring down their prices...and that means in the future, you better believe I'm hopping back to Verizon. I'm hoping I can stick it out for a year. Wouldn't you know, the big three started lowering their prices right after I bought my phone! Crossing my fingers till then, but please! Until Straight Talk gets it "straight", stay with a reputable company that actually cares about giving quality customer service!
I wanted to update my comment left above..I meant that if you call their customer service on a weekend, you would encounter problems. To use it to make regular phone calls is ok
(unless of course, one is told again that your minutes magically vanished!)

Interesting to read this negative review of Straight Talk. I bought the Samsung Finesse on the unlimited plan from Wallmart. This phone was reasonably pricey, but this price will be offset in 2 months by the savings this deal will bring me. I am super happy with the phone. It has a great touch screen and is amazing for web browsing. Enough on this great little handset. The coverage on this phone is way better than on my At&t. All in all, I would say that my experience has been amazing and it great to know that I'm not getting hugely ripped off anymore.
liars and cheats
Liars and Cheats, The straight talk experience I have had in approximately 5 weeks as a customer. Had I not bought the $100 phone I would have quit this company. They have misleading information on the web site concerning monthly contracts. I have been on the phone three times for hours trying to get things right. They have cheated me out of one month ($45) of service and lied telling me they would give it to me when I called back. They denied and and lied. They do not allow you to talk to any one above a floor supervisor.
I am pissed!
Do NOT do business with this company, you will be sorry if you run into any troubles.

You may still quit this company!I have purchased two straight talk phones, one for about $90.00 and the other over $300.00 along with 2 $30.00 phone cards.Walmart informed me I can return any or both phones for any reason within the 90 day return period. This would not include the monies spent on the phone cards. Also note on Straight Talks' web site the one year warranty they have at no extra cost.
I am pleased with my phones and take comfort knowing I am in Good hands, now. Please do your homework, know policies and procedures, and LISTEN when you are being guided via product help centers. They are not crooks nor thieves!
Final note-Keep receipts, boxes, and original packaging!I have not been paid nor compensated for my opinion! $60.00 per month for two phone bills makes me feel like I"m cheating them! LOL
discontinued service
My wife and I both purchased straight talk phones from Wal Mart, she purchased hers first and miine was a month later, my phone stopped working after 3 weeks, I took it back to Wal Mart and they exchanged it with no problem. The next day my wifes service on her phone was discontinued, we called straight talk and was told that we needed to fax the reciept for the air card that we purchased along with the serial number and IME for the phone. I took all of this info back to Wal Mart in hope that they would be able to help get this phone back online, we were able to fax the info that ST needed and we went home thinking that the matter was resolved, the next day I called them and they said that they recieved the fax and they had to relay it to the corporate offices and i should have a response within 24 to 48 hours, well after three day i still didnt have service or a response, I called ST back and after 1 hour on the phone they said that I didnt fax in a bar code label from the box for the phone that was purchased for my wife nearly 2 months before. I just quit trying and had to purchace another air time card for that month and put new minutes on my wifes phone. Straight Talks customer service is terrible, if you call with a problem expect to be on the phone for 2 hours and dont expect to talk to anybody that can speak english very well.

I bought three phones from straight talk, purchased three minutes cards..After a few weeks one of the phones was unworkable.. I then called straight talk and was told that the number to that phone, my phone had been transfered and I could not get it back.and in order to get the phone to work again I would need to purchase another minutes card even though my minutes card had two weeks left.. They recognized that it was them who had made the mistake but refused to turn the phone back on and return my minutes.. I was told this by two service representatives, the first one was very rude, second one was stern on not helping me, the supervisor told me the same but added that I am at the point of no return regarding my phone number and minutes.. His name was Jim, and refused to give his last name.. I do not ever wish to deal with these people again, mostly cuz they are rude and do not own up to their own mistake.. Luckely I explained the problem to walmart, they took the phones back, got credit.. I could not get credit for minutes not even the minutes that straight talk lost.. I warn people to stay away from straight talk, they are anything but straight..
no service for 2 weeks
I purchased a straight talk phone at walmart on nov. 1st. Activated it on that day and had no trouble with it for a month. I decided that I would switch to an auto bill pay plan for the following month and signed up for it online on dec. 1st. However, my pone did not reactivate. I called repeatedly to try to get the phone working and followed all of the instructions to reset the phone, but to no avail. They kept telling me to wait 2 hours, then 24 hours.
After 4 days of trying (And waiting), it still wasn't working and I had to leave town on a 10-day trip. They said that if I would wait another 24 hours, it would be fixed... But when it wasn't, and I was on the road, then I was really screwed because when I called from the city that I was in, apparently, they couldn't detect my phone fom there and they said that I would have to wait until I got back to my home area code (I didn't quite understand that one because they were selling straight talk phones in the walmart in that town, so they must have had service from some kind of towers there!)
Finally, upon returning home (On dec. 16th) I contacted them again and told them that I wanted to get my phone working while I was on the phone with them that day or else I wanted my money back for the phone and the minutes. After about an hour on the phone, the gal did get my phone working again. I guess she had to enter all of the information again and she said that perhaps something had been left off before. (I don't quite understand that since I did have one month of good service). Anyway, I said that I still wasn't completely happy because I had paid for a full month of service and didn't have any for 15 days! I wanted to have those 15 days added back onto my service... So she said that she would make the expiration date for jan 15th instead of dec. 31st... I thought that would be the least they could do. But then on dec. 31st, my credit card was billed for another $30! Apparently, she lied and the date wasn't reset! Because when I called on jan 1st to complain, the representative said that they aren't able to reset the service dates from their computers. I wold have to call the executive offices and they would handle the problem. Today (Jan 5th) I called them and lo and behold, they won't do anything. She spoke to her supervisor but wouldn't let me talk to him or give me the name of a corporate representative who I could speak to about this. I am totally frustrated and want to tell everyone that I can about how poor their customer service is.

This company has extremely poor customer service...DO NOT USE THIS AS YOUR PHONE SERVICE>>>>YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR>>>>NOTHING!
phone service
I purchase a phone and phone card from Walmart for my 13 yr old son for Christmas. This was to be his first phone and thought it would be a good idea to start him out on a pre-paid plan. However its been a mess since Christmas morning. FIrst off I was able to get it activated however the system gave me a LONG DISTANCE phone number for his phone (the phone number given was for the next county over which is long distance from my phones and everyone we know.)
I called customer service, spent 2 hours on the phone with which has to be one of the rudest people I have ever met, she told me that the area code for the phone was my area code (like I don't know where I live) and that if I wanted it changed I could go purchase another card...then a few minutes later she stated that there were no phone numbers left for my area code..wow. I asked to talk to her superviser and she said he was busy. I ended the phone call saying I would call back and speak to someone else.
I called a 2nd time, talked to a nice guy who said that he would put a order in and for me to get back within 48 hours.
I did just that and got another bozo like the first lady telling me just about the same thing she did. I flipped and asked to talk to a superviser who was miraculously "busy" at the time and unable to come to her phone. After more persuasion I was able to access a corporate number.
Called corporate phone number and talked to a woman who has been working on getting me a local phone number for my son. She contacts me at least 2 times a day about the matter. We have tried several times to re- activate the phone but the old number still shows up. This has been going on 1 week and now my son still hasn't used his phone...Very frustrating..and very unacceptable. I do have to say the lady at corporate is very helpful and nice...however how long can this go on.
If I would of seen the complaints before purchasing...my decision would of been different.
Just an added note. Its been 2 days since the mess of getting my sons phone finally activated with a local phone number. Just to find that today it has been deactivated. I am livid. Called Walmart where I purchased everything from they told me that they would reimburse me for the phone but couldn't give me my money back for the pre-paid card. I called the service line with straight talk and got no where (surprised?) and corporate is not open for me to talk with them. Funny thing is...the corporate line offered for me to leave a message...however when I tried it told me that the mailbox was full! HA.
I am calling the local news station for help with this and will be placing other phone calls to anyone else I can think of. This company is ridiculous...to say the least. My son has had his phone for 8 days and used it 2 times...unacceptable!
Stear clear of this company.

What I don't like about straight talk is that they are false advertising their products. I have recently purchased a phone 5s from them and on the box of straight talk it says that everything is unlimited but its not every time I am on my data its saying that I have used all my data that I have but now it goes really slow. I thought that if they have unlimited Internet then the speed will stay the same instead it reduces and goes really slow. Why give a certain about of GB if everything is unlimited I want my refund on my Internet
I PURCHASED A STRAIGHT TALK PHONE A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. ON THE NEXT MONTH OF SERVICE I PURCHASED A NEW 30 DAY PLAN 5 DAYS EARLY TO KEEP FROM HAVING MY SERVICE INTERUPTED. STRAIGHT TALK STOLE MY REMAINING DAYS I HAD LEFT. I CONTACTED THEM THROUGH MY HOME PHONE BUT THEY JUST TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT ROLLOVER MINUTES WHICH WAS NOT EVEN THE ISSUE. I HAD OVER 12 HOURS LEFT ON THAT MONTH BUT ALL I WANTED WAS THE 30 DAYS I PAID FOR.
I HAD TO REPORT THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BEREAU.YALL SHOULD DO THE SAME.TRACFONE WIRELESS IS WITH THEM TOO.
I live in Birmingham, AL and was given a Raleigh, NC number TWICE. They claim this is the assigned number for my local area. I wonder why they can't provide me with a 205 area code when Google Voice can give me a 205 number for absolutely free. Thank goodness for Google Voice. That's the phone number I give to people. Whenever they decide to change my number again, I can just change the forwarding number in Google Voice. Sad that I have to use a 3rd party to make their product work for me.
same thing happen to me. But it is such a good deal although it is wrong I guess I will live with the long distance # for the time being. I have had them change it ever month and they have got every town around us but still not the correct #. I will keep trying every month til they get it right. Do not let them add minutes till they give you the new # or you will likly lose them
i agree straight talk service is awful and something needs to be done it not fair that consumer spend their had earned money to purchase affordable phone service during these financially trying times, starting to think this is just some type of make money off the stupid consumer ploy and if anyone has the corporate number to straight talk it would be very apreciated if i could recieve it in an email at( isledwr@yahoo.com)
Can you please provide me with the corporate number? I have had nothing but problems with them as well, and would LOVE to give them a piece of my mind. I am already contacting the BBB as well. Please e-mail me with the number, djn.1981@gmail.com Thank you
phone still not activated
Has anyone managed to get a phone activated on this network? Everything the other complaints state is true. My number was pulled from Sprint and is therefore that phone is not working. Nor is the Straight Talk phone. The representatives are absolutely no help. They read there canned scripts and you get nowhere. This is my only phone number and also a business number. Now I wonder if it is lost for good.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I purchased 2 straight talk phones and also attempted to transfer my numbers from Sprint. Both phones started working in 30 minutes. However, customer service had to deactivate one of the phones because it was "not activated properly." My phone was deactivated 6 days ago, and despite my attempts to contact customer no-service, the phone still has not been re-activated. Straight Talk customer service is worthless and you should NOT contact them for anything. They tell you that the phone will be activated in 1, 24, or 48 hours, but the statement is a ploy to get the customer off the phone. I have read other people's complaints and you must contact the corporate office in Miami, FL. Their phone number is [protected] and they are open Mon-Fri. I will be calling the corporate offce this week to have my problem resolved.
I had no trouble activating my phone. From what I see it is when people are trying to transfer their phone numbers is where the problem is. If they can not do this I do not know why they advertise that they can.
customer service/reliability
In the support faq's for transferring your current number to a Straight Talk phone, it says that "Your new Straight Talk will be ready to complete activation when your old phone stops working."
The old phone stopped working several days ago, and a Straight Talk representative told me that the number had already been switched to them, but I still haven't been able to activate the new phone. Instead, I keep getting the same message that says, "Your transaction can not be completed at this time. Your telephone number is in the process of being switched between carriers. Please call [protected]-CELL [protected]) from a landline phone to check on the status of your number transfer request.
When I called customer service I was told that there were some "technical difficulties", but that the problem should be resolved within the next four hours. I called back after nearly twenty-four hours had gone by to see why the phone still couldn't be activated. A new representative told me she was going to put me on hold while she researched the problem.
However, she must not have known how to place a person on hold, and I got to listen to her laughing and joking with other "workers" for the next 33 minutes while she "researched". When she did take me off of "hold" she told me first that it would be another 72 hours before the phone could be activated. Then she changed her mind to 24 hours, then to 48, then to between 24-48 hours. She couldn't give me any reason for why the phone wouldn't work yet.
If the phone ever starts working, it still looks like a great deal cost-wise, but I pity anyone else who has to try to deal with their customer service, or complete lack of it.
This is an update on my origianl post. I thought that we would probably be giving up a little bit on quality by switching to the Straight Talk phones from Wal-Mart just because of the price, but I had no idea the service could possibly be this bad. The internet that is available for the phones is a joke. All of our phones (my family has three different models, so it's not just one type of phone) lose signal so often that it's a miracle to ever actually see a complete page download. Most pages are not compatible with the browser on the phones anyway.
Voice calls are dropped constantly. I tried one day to have a conversation with my husband about a doctor's appointment, and the call was dropped five times in one four minute period. On my model, the Samsung R451C, I have to stand perfectly still to keep from dropping calls...even shifting my feet can cause a dropped call. My husband and daughter are able to at least walk with their phones. We haven't been able to pinpoint any particular thing that makes their phones drop calls, it just happens to them for no reason at different times and in different places, a lot.
The only thing that we can rely on to work is the text messaging, and our daughter is the only one who really uses that. Also, all of our phones are constantly getting text messages from Straight Talk trying to convince us to switch from the $30 'All you Need' plan to a more expensive unlimited plan. We never even come close to using the minutes, text, or data on the plan, so why would we want to spend more?
The customer service is a mess too. I mentioned some of how bad it is in my previous post.
I would strongly discourage anyone who is considering this service. I know the price seems great, but the service is so bad, it's just not worth the savings.

Bunch of Crap! I have never had a problem with straight talk until this month! All of a sudden I renew my phone 2-22 and didn't receive Internet until 3 days later..I called and complained and had to wait 24 hours to 72 than I call back and had to wait another 24 hours. The man I spoke with helped me get my Internet on and yesterday eve. back of my Internet went AGAIN... Now they told me I have to drive to a wi-fi connection because I don't have one at home and call them back to reset my setting!? Please tell me how I am to do that when I have to call them on another phone other than the phone I'm reseting ! My whole point in switching from ATT was because I got Internet with Straight talk! I am Highly agitated at this and very DISAPPOINTED!
BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN, READ FIRST THE STRAIGHTTALK TERMS AND CONDITIONS. THE PROBLEM IS, YOU NEVER READ YOU ALWAYS COMPLAIN AND COMPLAIN YOU BUNCH OF ###S. BEFORE YOU ENTER IN A KIND OF ENVIRONMENT LIKE THIS, YOU SHOULD KNOW THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
My name is LINDA ALEXANDER, (ticket # [protected] and [protected], and I too, was sucked in by "unlimited talk tex and web". I have been a customer of straight talk for almost three years. I've had to purchase three phones while using their service. (one phone per year)The very last phone LG-800-G, TOUCH SCREEN, I purchased for my birthday 8/20. I used the phone for all of almost 2 weeks, and then it stopped working. I called and called customer service until I finally got a live person who did not actually hang up, and almost could speak englilsh and almost be understood, on SEPTEMBER 15, I was told that my phone would be replaced and so would the lost service. today is September 26, th. I've called numerous times and have been lied to every time. The phone has not arrived and neither has my service. Two weeks ago I was assured that the phone had been mailed and it would arrive in 3-5 days, I called again Sept. 24, and was told the phone will shipped on Sept 19, I called today and was told nothing has been shipped, and the only way to get a new phone is to send in the old phone and to follow the DETAILED instructions that should arrive in 3-5 days when I send in the old phone. Now, I am still out of a phone and I don't believe I will ever get this resolved. One thing I do know, I will never again refer anyone to Straight Talk and I will go back to ATT, today. Straight Talk is Straight BS.
omg...i am reliving the nightmere that i hac with straight talk.
1- the people speak broken english bad real bad
2- the customer service is bad just try to port your phone number you'll see
3- i tried to get my phone activated for two days and i am now on my thrid day
4-no one seems to care there i have took my battery out, entered codes, called them, yelled at them, try to resovel the problem more than i wish to next thing i'll try is to see how fast the f_ _ _ ing thing ends up in the rubbish i'm so mad
I think the ed Goverment shoul step in and shut this cmpany down and refund all money put out by custemers this is fruad and should be taken care of as any other crime my home is [protected]
I belive Stright talk is a rip off there should not be any interrupion of service for a paying custermer if the company can not provide that service than they need to be shut down this is going on to long
I have a straighttalk phone all of sudden phone is dead have no service cll straighttalk get dumb ### keeps telling me getting info this goes on for 2 hours still no service this has been going on for 4 days with no help
rip-off on days of service!
I've had Straighttalk for just over 2 months. I've opted for the unlimited prepaid plan at $45/month. About 3 days before my first month's service was due to expire, I got a text message to refill my phone "right now".
I did that and then noticed something odd. My first month expired on December 9th and when I reloaded my phone, I was given a voice prompt that my phone was now good until January 4th. Well...I may be old and stupid, but December 9 to January 4 ain't 30 days.
When I FINALLY got through to a live person at customer service, the young lady read from a script and never said anything to me. "We appreciate your choice to go to Straighttalk", "We want all of our customers to be happy". I don't think this woman understood or spoke English (although, she reads it very well).
The point of this diatribe is to warn people NOT to recharge your phone until it expires and shuts off. If you reload before this time, ALL remaining minutes and/or days are GONE! No refund...nada...zero...zip...zilch.
This company is sending texts to get people to refill early and then rip them off. If I had it to do over again, I would never have gone with this company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
they are not able to compensate any customer dont be angry with the people who tryes to get money and do they job! be angry with the bosse!
if you add youre min before the expiration date does days of service ore min will be lost! ask for the expiration date and time sou will add the min on the expiration date before the time the phone goes deactivated and if u let the phone goes deactivated u will lose the number...think with ure head!
Same thing, reloaded early and lost 12 days. Phone rep states no "rollover" policy. A rollover is unused minutes, I thought, not days. I thought for once I found a decent phone plan...right.
I got the same thing happening to me right now as my phone was to be refilled on the 25th of last month which was christmas so I refilled on the 24th .. now it's the 20th of jan and I recieved a message to refill by the 23rd and they cut off my service plus I found out they were sending a replacement phone to someone at an address that isn't mine .. and my cut off date is now the 20th.. My Cell is Used for Business and now they obviously are screwing me over and others ..straighttalk is a rip off..
problem
I just got this phone maybe 2 weeks ago, and for some reason when i send texts half the time they say there sent but they havent really sent. it's extremely annoying having to send the exact same text 50 times hoping one will actually send!

My volume is up all the way and when i get a text or a call i don't hear nothing and i have a ringtone set for it and everything... what's going on?
deleted a month of servicde
I added a second straight talk card and it eliminated one whole month of service. They will not refund money. They will not add the additional days of service despite having the information in their computer. These are not like Tracfone where days of the service plan accumulate. THIS IS NOT SPELLED OUT IN THE INFORMATION!
I am pissed. I have spent over an Hourtaking to lackies in the guise of supervisors. I am out $45.
Very unhappy as a customer of less that one week!

i am too . refilled my phone on a friday from my bank card! no service as of tuesday. we have no record of this transaction!
lack of service and dishonesty
I too purchased both a Straight Talk phone from Wal-Mart and a $45.00 "first month" service card and called them in the middle of November, 2009, to activate the service. Since I wanted to port my number over from another provider, I was told that there would be wait of up to a week or so before the phone could be activated. No action and no service was provided for up to a month and when I finally talked for over an hour to a representative, I was told that the number had been transferred to AT&T, and that the minutes, which had never been used, had expired, even though they had never been used because they had never been activated!
I will attempt to return the phone to Wal-Mart in the morning, since they are generally good about customer service, but I STRONGLY advise against ever working with this company. They are thieves and crooks in my mind and I advise you to be forewarned!

I purchased my phone 5-3-10 and was going to port in my old number. I decided to just get a new number. Called and was given a new number without much problem. When I tried to use this number...the message was that they were unable to authenticate the number and it was not in the local service area. I have called back everyday for the past five days and have been put on hold for over an hour at times. When I do reach a real person...which two of them were NOT in the USA all I get is "May I put you on hold for one to three minutes while I check with the other department". I hear this question in my sleep. But NOTHING has been done. I was told by the one I talked with yesterday that I would have to buy another service card...that made my blood boil...she quickly changed her mind. I don't understand why they don't understand when they supposedly puts everything into a "ticket" to keep everybody informed. But you still have to give them the same info every time you call. I told the lady today (after she told me AGAIN that it would be 24-48 hours before they could activate my phone with a new number ) that I will call back in 24 hours and I either want (1) a new LOCAL area number, (2) a total refund of my phone & my service or (3) or a new phone & a new service card. I asked for an additional number to talk to someone higher up, but of course she said there was only one number to call. My husband has a straight talk phone and we love it, but this customer service STINKS!
Fraudulent service cards
Crooked talk! Do not even think about doing business with these criminals! I purchased a straight talk cell phone and service plan card at walmart - $134. I activated the phone on line at straighttalk.com, entering the phone's serial number and the service card's pin which was required to activate service on the phone. The phone worked for 2 hours before...

When I placed an order via their website, I was given a specific delivery date. Once I was given a tracking number, I logged onto Fed Ex's site only to find that the date I was given was incorrect. Per Fed Ex, I was to receive my package 3 days later than what was quoted by on of Straight Talk's representatives. Because I needed the phone quicker, I purchased the same model from a local Wal Mart. When the phone was delivered, I simply refused the package and had it returned to sender. Well, they received the phone back today and I called to see when the refund would be processed to my debit card.
The first call was no help at all. Although I had tracked the returned package and saw that it was delivered back to Straight Talk at 10:14 am, I was told by a representative (that I could barely understand) that they had no record of the phone being received. I made a second call and was told that this particular representative was unable to handle my request and transferred me to a different department. I was on hold for nearly 20 minutes.
Finally, a representative from this different department comes on the line. Once I explained the situation to her, would you believe she asked me for the serial number of the phone that was RETURNED? I advised her that I didn't have this information because I returned the package. She continued to ask me questions about the package that had been returned. Finally, I asked to speak with a supervisor. Now, mind you, each person I spoke with was extremely difficult to understand and this alone is utterly frustrating.
After another long wait, the supervisor comes to the line. She advises me that the phone was received but, it would take 30 days to process the refund. I simply asked her why it would take so long to process the refund. She states, 'Ma'am, this is our process'. Again, I asked a simple question: What does your process entail that would cause me to have to wait 30 to receive my refund? Once again, she stated 'This is our process'. She continued to repeat this over and over again. I only wanted to know why it would take so long to receive a refund. In all my life, I've NEVER heard of it taking a month to receive a refund for returned merchandise, NEVER!
By the end of the call I was a bit livid because a SUPERVISOR couldn’t answer one simple question. I wouldn't suggest that anyone utilize this company for mobile service. DO YOUR RESEARCH as I should have. After disconnecting the call, I Googled the company and found that there are SEVERAL complaints regarding their poor level of customer service. The fact that I manage a customer service call center made me more sentient to the way I was being treated. Honestly, I could have handled the fact that I wouldn't receive my refund of $160.00 for a whole month a lot better had I been treated with more regard.

I haven't even gotten my product i ordered oh and i paid for the fedex overnight also that was on 16th of feb 2011. isn't what the r doing to so many people considered illegal they haven't given me my refund of 65.85 and they come up with different excuses y every time. there has got to be a way to shut this company down and stop it from being able to sell in the us
another the mantince plan sucks its just a nother trying to screw up a good thing
I COMPLETELY agree to this. 100% accurate. I also purchased a phone just before thanksgiving off their website. I returned the phone around Dec. 7. and as of today (January 12) i have not received a refund. Call after call after call, and nothing. And another thing.. i had to hang up on a few representatives due to the fact that i could not understand them at all. So all in all, i agree 100%. Do your research, ask questions.. or just don't deal with this company at all. There are easier, less frustrating ways to get the cell phone u want.
Extremely poor customer service
Straight talk is a provider of prepaid cellphone service.
I bought service and a phone from them. Because there was not a participating retailer in my area, straight talk would ship a phone to me via fedex.
While the phone was in transit, I noticed that the shipping address that straight talk had on file for me was incorrect. Only the city and zip code were incorrect, so the needed change was minor.
I called straight talk, and I was told that it was company policy not to change addresses. The representatives indicated that my only possible recourse would be to contact fedex to make the change.
Accordingly, I called fedex. Of course, fedex says that it cannot change the address because the shipper (I. E., straight talk) had placed special restrictions on the shipment. However, the rep from fedex did say that if I could get a straight talk rep to call fedex, then fedex would change the address nonetheless.
I called straight talk back. Of course, I tell the rep to call fedex. The rep indicates that she cannot do that because some "upper department" (Whatever that means) has said she is not to do so.
For the second time, I call fedex. Again, the rep says that all I need to do is get straight talk to make a 5-minute phone call to direct the address change. The change would be extremely simple if a straight talk rep would just make the call.
I make one last call to straight talk. This time, the rep indicates that changing the address isn't even possible. When I indicate that all he has to do is give fedex a call, he simply repeatedly says, "that's not possible." when I asked to speak to the rep's supervisor, I was put on hold indefinitely.
In addition, the reps were extremely difficult to understand because they knew little english.
For anyone who is thinking about cellular service, I would not consider straight talk. Avoid it at all costs because if you ever have a problem, you'll just be screwed with no recourse.

purchased new straight talk phone from wall mart on 31 jan 2017. Tried to use my phone on feb 18 2017 and it had been deactivated. Was on the phone all day with several different supposedly customer service reps and several different upper level management people trying to get my phone reactivated. Well needless to say i never got my phone reactivated even though i faxed a copy of my receipt from wallmart where i purchased the phone ans was outright told i had stolen the phone and needed to turn myself in to the police. I am a 21 year retired air force veteran and have been around the world and have never dealt with such a bunch of incompitant people in the customer service area. Issue never has been resolved and i am looking in to filing a theft of service charge to this company. Probably wont do any good but will make me feel better.
I'm active military and currently over in Norway and I was trying to pay my phone bill but to no prevail. I wish they would show me a password with the user name so that so that I could log on but unfortunately my e-mail is also locked so I can't get it that way either nor is my phone accepting texts or calls because I didn't buy the international plan before I left. It's very aggravating, can somebody help me with this?
Do not buy straight talk! Ordered 2 sim cards and 2 x$45 monthly cards. When package arrived only sim cards were inside. Explained to customer service and they said phones could not be activated without the cards. It was very frustrating trying to communicate with the agent so I finally said to cancel my order and I would ship the sim cards back. I shipped the cards and now 6 weeks later I still have not received $112.30 credit. I have spoke several times with customer service with no resolution yet.
Worst company ever!
Had phone that had not been used. Bought $30 plan to add to phone. The phone number was given to another customer and the minutes was given to them I am out $30 dollars. Cant use phone. Customer service man said they could not do anything about it I will tell everybody I know not to buy straight talk
Ordered a cell phone and 30 days of service. Phone was to be overnighted. It took 5 days to arrive and had no working microphone. It has been 2 weeks and still waiting for a replacement. In the meantime days of service are being subtracted. Minutes were substracted for doing tests the service rep had me do. They made test calls to me and subtracted minutes for that, too. Customer service is a joke. They do not seem to comprhend what you try telling them. They keep repeating "I understand" when they clearly don't. I have never had such bad service for any product from any company. Goes to show...you get what you pay for.
straight talk advertises unlimited talk text and web if you buy an unlimited card which I borough now they have disabled my Internet and I cant use it there is no contact but they say I broke the contact what contact I would like my Internet service fixed on my phone what kind of company is this when the advertise one thing and then do something else
Straight Talk will flag all phones which mean if you buy a second hand ST phone, it can not be activated without the original proof of purchase faxed to them. Only then will they consider activating it. If a second hand phone is not their branded phone. They will disable data which causes the phone not to be completely usable with ST. Straight Talk's BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) program falsely advertises compatibility with other carrier phones. They simply do not fully work. Especially VERIZON PHONES. I will be leaving ST as soon as a find a decent carrier at a descent price. The above wasn't discovered till I bought a used ST phone in perfect condition in the box from someone that was actually using it and tried to switch my existing ST talk to a GALAXY S3 model S968C. BEWARE OF ANY OF THESE PHONES SOLD. WITHOUT ORIGINAL PROOF OF PURCHASE, THEY CAN NOT BE ACTIVATED. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
My daughter bought a phone card for her phone. They gave another customer her phone time for the month. She called twice, spoke to two representatives and a supervisor and was told they couldn't do anything. So. now she has no phone time and was ripped off for $50.00. My daughter's name is Melissa Tierney. I am her mother Valorie Tierney . My phone number is [protected]. Please feel free to contact us regarding this incident. From what I've seen in the complaints, she is not the only one that they did this to.
Straight talk has a new deal if you bring your own phone you get 5 gigs of data instead of 3. But other straight talk customers still only get 3 gigs of data thats not fair i have been a loyal straight talk customer for years. I think everyone should get 5 gigs of data regardless. I hope they change it real soon. Plus they sent me a text saying i was going to get 5. Gigs next time i refill my phone. But then i read on.their website that the only people getting 5 gigs are people who transfer a phone from another carrier and all other straight talk customers still only get 3 gigs.
Worst company EVER! spent several hrs on the phone with their reps, supervisors, managers and sr managers. all because they cant do their jobs. i spoke to about 20 people over a 2 day period. the service sucks and so do the phones. i bought a touchscreen phone and always lose service or it drops calls and shuts off and doesnt turn back on. I wanted to transfer the phone to an old phone and they did that but with the same telephone number, i requested a new number in my area. recently having moved to another state. and had problems the whole time. now after i threaten lawsuit and calling the bbb. they want to send a new sim card and give a free month of service. btw. the phone i transferred back to keeps saying no service AND I ALREADY GOT A NEW SIM CARD!. i told them absolutely not! i dont want your service after my service end date! The supervisor begs me to please stay with their company, because i have been a customer for so long and what can she do to remedy the situation... i say there is nothing you can do... im done! and i have received 2 phone calls from them since i said that. DONT GO WITH STRAIGHT TALK! THEY ARE THE WORST!
Activation
Bought a cell phone from Walmart, try'd to activate that for 3 day's but it is still not done, they let you believe online that that is a 5 minute handling. It is not, If it would work properly and fast as they say, would be nice but they cannot transfer numbers, as they say and then you are in trouble. Sorry you have to wait 24 hrs and again and again and...

We purchased a straight talk phone from wal-mart for our teenage son. The packaging leads you to believe that you get a free phone card with your purchase & when you realize that you do not & contact their customer service dept., noone speaks english. The reps are like robots & no matter what question you ask, the rep gives you the same freakin' answer. We called several times over several days before finally deciding to return the phone. Straight talk sucks!

straight talk did nothing I'm sure of it!
Oh wait... they gave them the all helpful [protected] number. Biggest joke phone number in service today! Call it and have fun! BETTER TAKE A SEDATIVE.
And 611 611...hahahahahahahaha
Anyway haha customer service from haha straight haha talk hahahahahahs!
All I can say is it’s Horrible!
[censored]ing straight talk needs to go. not now, but at earliest opportunity. my dad needed to go back to the er and the whole damn time I was on the phone with the paramedics, it kept cutting out and cutting out and cutting out and cutting out. here my dad was probably dying, and I got some [censored] cell service [censored]ing up a 911 call, and all emergency signals are supposed to be free of that kind of interference! in fact, it's my understanding that throttling a 911 call is illegal as hell... i'm talking federal laws, here. those cockmunchers have a helluva lot of explaining to do when I get ahold of them on monday!
Customer service sucks and is all in India. The rewards program is a scam you can trade in points for nothing because you never receive anything and if you call India they will tell you there is no record of any transaction and tell you who how many points you have left. Idiots and a complete scam.
How to I post a rating of Straight Talk?
Customer service at Straight Talk is almost non existent. It takes an average of one hour to find out one answer and the tech people know only what is in the little book that came with the phone and I already know that info. They never ask for my phone no. and when a call was dropped while I was holding no one, of course, called me back. The $30 plan would be a good deal if their customer and tech people knew how to solve any problems but since they don't, Straight Talk is very inefficient and undependable and getting worse all the time.
Ordered phone online with agent telling me which phone worked on the AT&T network. When phone arrived it was for the Sprint Network and would not work in my area. Spent 400 on this phone and when I called to complain about the phone, was told to ship it back and would take up to 30 days for refund to be issued. Do not order from them, buy regular phone and move it over to straight talk for good savings.
I got a straight talk phone about three months ago. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Im in college, needed a cheap phone, the appeal of the wireless internet was there too, seeing as most people have droids/iphones/whatever now. I had been with verizon for a number of years, but they piss me off to no end (thats another story). anyways i plopped down $100 for a phone, and $45 for the unlimited plan. 2 months in i started getting the 30 dollar card, i dont go over 1000 texts per month (since im not a teenage r-tard that only communicates this way) and i was surprised to see that i didnt run past 30mb of data seeing as i check my facebook on it about everyday.
Things were going good. Too good.
Then my phone started turning off. again and again. I still had my receipt from the original purchase. 87 days in my phone was dead. Took it to walmart, of course they wouldnt exchange/refund/ be helpful in any way. I guess i should have expected this from a phone thats obviously targeted towards drug dealers and illegal immigrants. They told me to call samsung tech service, despite the obvious hurdle of not having a working phone.
But my saga doesnt stop there. I made the second mistake of buying another phone. Had to call from a friends phone to try to activate it. ended up in an hour long conversation with someone who barely spoke english and wasnt any help. They said to put some codes in which they read to me. well i did and guess what? nothing happened. They said it could take up to 24 hours to "activate on its own". 5 days later i still dont have a working phone. my old plan just ran out and i lost my number. ie- the same number that i have been putting on my resumes and job apps. FML
so right now ill try calling them again, well see what happens.
on the whole its the deal could in theory really be a great alternative to verizon/at&t/whatever. however it is just so poorly implemented and customer service *** so bad that you really need the luck of the irish or some unicorn blood to have a good overall experience with it.
Sad it has been almost two months and promised within 30 days I would receive my refund check from the day they received it. Oh, when I called, they never received it UNTIL I gave them the name, time it was received, then they "suddently" found it! After waiting over 30 days told they were "still working on it and be patient"! Calling Walmart Headquarters is just as bad. They have no direct line to them-must go by email but no response...at least never have had a return call! It is as if they don't want to be bothered! Walmart sends their time advertising and standing behind this product that is no only inferior, full of problems, and the customer service telling one thing; doing another. I suggested Walmart go on line and read some of the complaints, but they said didn't answer just "thank you for being such a good customer!" They have been looking into the matter for several weeks but no return calls. Do not, I repeat, do not purchase a Straight Talk phone. You will be angry! AND if needs to be replaced? Expect a used, scratched, inferior product in exchange for the brand new one-and not even the same brand or features-as the one you sent. That is their right I was told!
I have been a Straight Talk user for years with really no issues. But now I am very pissed.
I've had the same phone number for several years and all my clients and friends from all over the world have me at that number. I recently had to order a new phone and the sim card they sent was from another provider that has terrible coverage in my area. So they sent me a new sim from another provider and installed and it was a different phone number. I tried to get my old number back but "supervisor" said it could not be retrieved and after waiting for a period of time (I asked to speak to her supervisor) she said she could get my old number but would have to send new sim (3-5 business days) but would have to terminate my phone immediately.
So I would be without my phone for a week or so. I am on the road most of the time and must have a phone. So now my only other option is to call everyone of my contacts and give them this new number (that is in the hundreds).
All along I have been so adamant and clear as to how important that number was to me and in just a couple of seconds Straight Talk screwed me.I believe I am done.
Poor customer service
I purchased an approved phone from Wal Mart and activated my service. Part of the plan is browser service. I was never able to access my browser and after repeated calls to their customer service department, and after requesting a new phone, which was initially approved I was told everything would be forwarded to the corporate office. I have been left hanging with no answer from the corporate office. This is unacceptable.

I Can Not make phone calls at all ..and haven't been able to for days now ..I dial and it immediately tell me call ended .and the only way anyone can contact me is text or video calls .phone tells me I have no network and can only make Emergency calls .I do have internet though
I trying to pay for [protected] Loren Lewis phone but my money went to [protected] WHICHI DONT know who that is but spend 38.96 plus 10 for extra data i been on calls 2 hours 1hour and get hung up on when i ask to speak to a mangement
Since Verizon became the provider the service sucks. Dropped calls, incoming go straight to voicemail calls hang up over and over again. I cannot use data. I cannot make or receive calls.
The service is very much inaccurate and condescending. I'm very disatisfied, after being with straight talk for a long time, an agent actually hung up on me while I was trying to fix a problem, also there was a lot of run around , agent was not courteous at all . I will never deal with this company again ...
-5*
Straight talk is taking bus fare money out of my bank account causing me to miss work after a interveiw and i been homeless for 17 year's from the same issues for money leaving my bank account with no awareness please help.
They overcharged me for two phone service plans that I have repeatedly cancelled.
My first call with Floyd on July 31st at 1pm resulted in him hanging up on me, which was uncalled for! I kindly asked him to direct me to someone else to resolve my issue since he was unsure on how to help me but he said he could not and hung up.
On the 15 th of June I ordered two $35 refill card and sim kits. I have tried multiple times to reach a manager on straight talk customer service number and keep getting disconnected. I have never received my package and it was send back to straight talk. I want to know what I can do about getting a refund so I can go to Walmart and get it.
Try to purchase tank art over phone with debit card. Activate my son's phone. They couldn't find a phone on their service service area. They refused to give me a refund. And they keep giving me the rent around. And the customer service is very rude.
almost 6 weeks and still no straighttalk phone once they sent a return label instead of a phone ( already had my phone for over two weeks) at 4 weeks said they had one ready to ship , not true. finally sent one at 5 weeks wrong company ( tracfone) and i cannot get unlimited data the only thing i use.

i brought 2 of these phone for me and my wife. also brought 2 30dollars card. we had a verizon cell before it works really good, but i have to pay around 53 dollars every month to get 450 mins, 250 msgs, for one phone, but now i only pay 60 for two and both have 1000 mins and 1000 msgs. so it seems a good deal for me.
i actived my phone with a new number, it was ok, nothing really happened.
but when i actived my wife's phone with our old verizon numer, then it just could not work. however, i thought i might have to wait, but i waited for days it still not work. so then i try to call the support from stright talk, for the most of the time, i can't really understand what the people talking about, i think they are talking to me from somewhere in India. and then, everytime i call, its the same answers: ask my name and number, then give me a case number and tell me they need talk to supervisor, so i was on hold, and then tell me call back 24-48 hours. so just like that, the journey begins. i been calling everyday for almost the past week, everything i call, i get the same route, even i tell them my case number, they still ask me my name and phone number, and samething they put me on hold to talk to their supervisor, then tell mewait for 24-48 hours. this must been the longest 24-48 hours in my life. i ask them will i get the same answer next time? they just choose to not answer that and keep telling me to check back 24-48 hours, so i never get answer from them.
so now i kind of lost in this situation, and don't know what to do. people and friends been calling me on my old number and of course, no one gets through.
i just hope someone can tell me what should i do.
