On Friday, March 1st, we got off I-95 in Brunswick, GA looking for two rooms for the night. After several trying to get 2 rooms at other hotels, we stopped at Super 8 and they did have rooms available.
My wife asked the night clerk for a one night stay and she was told that it would be $89 + tax.
I accessed booking.com and found out that the online price was $67 + tax for each room. I attempted to tell the clerk that I would book the rooms online to save some money, the clerk told me "No, we don't do that". I then told the clerk that her price was higher and that I wanted the online price, but basically told me that to take the rooms at her price or to go elsewhere.
This took place between 10:30 PM and 11:00 PM and after driving over 7 hours from FL, we just wanted to stop for the night, but didn't any other options at this time, so we took the rooms at her price.
To my surprise, we paid $104 per room, which I think we paid a much higher price than we should have been charged.
This was my first time staying at Super 8 and trust me, it will be my last. By the way, the breakfast was awful.
We stayed at rooms 206 and 208.
Desired outcome: Please review my complain and find out why the night clerk did not want to accept the online reservation and basically told me to 'take it or leave it".
