Bought couch March 10 th paid CASH 1,700 ( took over a week , was promised then lied too ) was improperly moved into my house ( had to take patio door apart 😡when couch fit into my friends apartment) . Was a mark on the couch , was told would be repaired , waited DAYS and nothing , I finally lost my cool went down ranted street manager AND STILL no resolution. Staff has been RUDE and Unprofessional I am returning the couch and will give you a terrible review . This is in Belleville Ontario .
Desired outcome: Apology from Manager on his and his staff rude and unprofessional attitudes . I will no longer shop with you again and this is a small town word of mouth travels .

This product has faults in the build of sofa, the arm are faulty the way they are built they break buy just getting from the seat position, under a year warranty got second replacement sofa already out of the have problems with this one, the right side seat after seating you feel like you lean to right, causing back side to hurt, the center back that folds down the electrical station while using it smells hot that something not right with it went back to your colonial Heights store Va. to get a replacement they can’t replace it they said they had to order one so 2 weeks later called back told them about the problem in the seat of the sofa and the arm squeak and feel like trying to rip inside, waiting a week keep calling no one will answer the phone so Tired of this product have to keep waiting and waiting to get replacement sofa so wish some one needs to address this problem please contact me please my name is Stanley Glenn 8210 dash lane jetersville Va. 23083 phone number is [protected] thank you.

I purchased a couch from the Kingston location in March, the couch is Terrible to say the least . The fabric is rippling I guess you might call it .I contacted the warranty provider with no response . Then contacted the store themselves which i spoke with manager who said it looks like a manufacturer issue , we’ll after weeks I am still waiting for a response . I am to say the least not impressed with theses services . I have already read reviews that the warranty is in fact a scam and that this has happened on more then one occasion for people . I’d like my money back and I’m tired of the run around so if this isn’t solved I will be contacting the better businesses bureau on the services and scam of warranty the store provides .

Warranty and quality of product
We purchased a living room set a little less than a year ago. We purchased the extended warranty (we would soon realize the joke was on us)
So far, the left arm has caved in and the couch looks as if it’s leaned toward one side. I called the store I purchased it from and David? Damian? (I don’t remember his name but he; at the time; was manager of that specific store, left and came back as assistant manager) told me that he remembered me and that “he would handle it to give it 30 days and they would be calling me to get a replacement. About 3 weeks in, after not hearing anything, we decided to stop in the store and get an update. Fortunately the manager I spoke to, was there. When we were able to finally meet with him, he said he doesn’t remember me nor the conversation. When asked what I needed to do, he told me to find my original receipt and warranty number I purchased. I asked him at what time were we supposed to get a receipt OR the box for the warranty. He said on delivery, when I told him I never received anything delivery. At that point is when he states that there is nothing he can do. I asked for corporate number, he gave me an email address to his “district manager” upon which was returned because the email wasn’t correct. I can’t get corporate to the phone, the manager won’t help, all the whole, we are sitting here on furniture that costed quite a bit of money and is useless! I would NEVER tell anyone to purchase from this company. They are the epitome of scam artists in local stores

I bought a bed with headboard
I bought a bed on layaway Took me 6 months to pay it off. They ask if I drive because the headboard was not in. All these months headboard should have been in. I paid for delivery but no headboard and ask me if I can pick it up. Why should I as I paid for delivery. Still waiting for headboard and my bed was delivered the 1 Dec. Will never buy anything there and recommend my friends to go elsewhere

I purchased a brand new queen Size mattress & Box Spring on August 2/2021
As of September 28th I notice the bed was desinagrate. Falling to the floor, I contacted the store manager and Explain my situation. That my bed is still under warrenty and needs to be replace. It seems like they lead me on about replacing my bed, Everyday there is alfways a excuse. Over all bad business.

We went to Moncton Surplus Furniture and found coffee table and two seats, and the agent offered a deal. Two seats and coffee table were only $400 together, but the price of one seat was about $200. It was worth to buy it, so we paid money and added $35 for the delivery. The delivery man brought coffee table, but seats were wrong. Now the agent discards that he has offered us these seats. But we have no proof. Take heed!

I am not deaf and wouldn't expect a sales person to talk to me that way in the store so I suggest you tone it down.

We paid for a couch, love seat, 2 end tables, a coffee table and 2 lamps. They were suppose to deliver it yesterday by 6pm. When I called the company to confirm the delivery yesterday they informed me that my couches were not there and that they were on a train somewhere in pennsylvania. and that they wouldn't be here until friday of the next week. I told them that this was unexceptable and they said they could give me the floor model and have it delivered the next day by noon and throw in 2 free lamps. i agreed to this. they also said that if there was any damage to the couches that they would give us a full refund. well once the couches were delivered i noticed each couch had several rips in the fabric and also the 2 free lamps where not included with the delivery. i called immediately to the store while the delivery guys were still here. and the store manager chris told me that i had refused the free lamps and i told him that was incorrect. i then told him of the rips in the couches and he proceeded to tell me that i could have a new couch and loveseat once the other shipment comes in but he has no idea when that will be. i also inquired about the refund and he said we would have to pay to return the delivery and then wait for an undetermined time for the corporate office to send us a check in the mail.. so i asked for the corporate phone number and he said he didn't have it. i told him he had to give me the corporate number and that it was against policy to refuse so he gave me this number [protected]. he then said that once the new shipment came in he would give us a call which he knew not when that would be he estimated but did not know for sure a two week period. he told us not to call him but that he would contact us when it came in. i want a full refund from these people. i tried calling the corporate number but it is just a voice mail recording that doesn't state whether or not it is surplus freight or not so i left a message on the accounts payable line in hopes to get a response. i have also done a bit of research online and apparently i am not alone in my complaint on this particular company. i hope that you can help me and others like me. this company should be looked into for all the trouble they are causing several consumers over different states. please help me figure out what to do... thank you for your time.

Did not recieve Items purchased
I went to this web site from an ad on Craigs list. I purchased 2 named brand items that I know sell at COSTCO. I've never been scammed before, and I am embarrassed. I am out a Suncast Shed and Woodridge Wooden Swing Set w Slide for my grandchildren. Raising 6 children I always watch for a good deal. I even bought 2 items so I would get gold freight Shipping and they would even put it together for us. Great, since my husband is disabled.
I did see the BBB symbol and read the reliability report. I read reviews about the company. I had someone call me to verify my order and also said because it was my first buy I couldn't use my credit card but was told to buy a Money Pak at WalMart. Was told this was safer. We even ask our Credit Union and they said Money Pak was reliable so I didn't suspect the company. Now 2wks went by and no one will answer my email, phones are busy and one is disconnected. Grandma feeling pretty sad about Swing set promised to grandkids. I was also scammed on a Suncast shed but it doesn't hurt as much as not getting the wooden swingset. I sent $1170.00 with the Money Pak. :-(

It happened to my wife and I as well. Luckily, we caught on the day that we were going to buy. It was a website under the name of surplus furniture. Phones were disconnected so she looked up address found a different number. She called it and found out the phony company was using a different places address as their own. Prices seemed to good to be true. I guess they were.
We too were scammed on the swingset as well. I too am embarrassed by this. We have never been scammed before. I should have listened to my husband, who said, he prefers to speak to someone before ordering. We were just excited to get this for our kids. This actually makes me sick to my stomach. I just wish, these people that are doing this could be found, and forced to pay back all the money they have taken from all of us. It's such a horrible & heartless thing to do.
Had the same problem under another company they are changing web pages and using craigslist to market it. If you look up the address on the web page for this it's actually Ashley's Furniture. I got scammed under Budget-Furniture.Net. They even have a fradulant Better Business Bureau web page. Terrible experience
On 11/24/2007 I went into a furniture company and put some furniture on Lay-away. I was given a receipt to sign and they said I can pay it off at anytime. About 2 weeks later I went in and paid for all of the furniture in full. I have a sofa, loveseat, dining table with 4 chairs, coffee table, 2 end tables, sofa table and 4 lamps. I was told that my furniture will be delivered on 12/23/2007. I asked them if they were sure my furniture will be here by Christmas Eve I was told yes.
All of last week I was calling to confirm my delivery and I was told numerous times that yes my furniture was being delivered. My old furniture was all removed from my house. I received a call from Mike on Saturday 11/22/2007 and was told that I could only receive my sofa and loveseat with the coffee and end tables. He said that he did not have my dining room set until January 15, 2008. I was really upset I am almost 5 months pregnant I am having my family over for Christmas and I am sitting in an empty apt. Today I called the furniture company all day and they said I was getting my furniture delivered between 4 and 6pm. At about 5:20pm I get a call from Mike the manager and was told that he did not have any of my furniture except for the sofa and loveseat. He asked me to go to the other warehouse in the Bronx and pick out anything I wanted even if there was a price difference. I got in a cab and went over to the other store with about 15 minutes to spare before they closed. When I picked out new furniture I kept being told that they did not have it in stock. I was then told that they had to leave and was I able to come back in the morning. I have been taken for a ride by this company and I have been made false promises. I have an empty apt and no place to sit or serve my family on Christmas. I want these people to be exposed and get my the things that I paid for in full. The total price paid for all of my furniture was $2115.48. Please respond as soon as possible and tell my what my options are.

What are you a [censor] or one of it's employees? The sales people there are like hawks; they would not let you browse or look for what you want - they are very desperate for a sale. I went there looking for a sofa and love seat. Sat on the very first one by the entrance door, salesman came up and started writing on his pad pricing and quoting their warranty figures. Told him I haven't even got into the store properly (for just one minute) and he assumes I need to buy the very first piece at the door. He then was so blatant to ask me for a deposit to lock the price in - all this in about three minutes, no kidding. I had to let him know that I am a customer and I need to look at different pieces and eventually he was so pissed off because he didn't sell me any furniture in that three minutes. Also, these are the same people who has been there for the last 15 years with different business names.
I don't know who shopgirl19 is blowing in that store but I've been there lots of times since it's just next to Staples and it's the same torn down looking shabby peeling floor (with patches of concrete missing from the floor )and with the entrance door being a steel door that usually has a gated shutter closed against it. Their displays are set up pretty good though.
I"ve never been to this store, but after reading what Shopgirl69 had to say, I would never go. How fake does this girl sound? Come on lady...we're talking about a store here. It's only a store. You overexaggerated just a bit. She definetly owns the shop, got paid by them to talk positively or she is fooling around with the owner.

Scam and cheating
In the latter part of March of 2009 I purchased over $1000 in furniture from this company and they never delivered the furniture. They kept on telling me that they had not recieved my order from their distributor inspite of guranteeing a specific delivery date. It has been well over a month and I am out $1000 and no furniture. They will give you the run around and now I am forced to have to go to court to recover my money.

Mis-written My First Names
The Complaint detail of this furniture company, of they represent themself, a hard working company. The thing I disappointed, Pissed off that They can not spell my first name right on the reciept, for the item I brought there, and I will not to buy there anymore. I told them, and I call them, to informed them that you mistaked put down the wrong name, on the reciept, and they told they change my address, but not my first name.

On 9/14/07 I walked into Surplus freight furniture looking to purchase several items due to an advertisement which I saw on a flyer. I was greeted by Phyllis Smolar. She asked if she could be of assistance and I stated 'yes'. She asked what I was interested in purchasing. My reply was a living room set. Two bedroom sets and 3 sets of mattresses. I purchased the two sets of mattresses and two bedroom sets which consisted of a dresser, mirror and headboard. Manny (the supervisor) promised to deliver in two weeks from the date above. The estimated date of delivery was 10/11/07. All the above mentioned items totaled to $1, 346.10 which was paid in full with CASH.
During that same visit, I then placed one set of mattresses on layaway with a down payment of $300.00 and a balance of $117.00 remaining. The remaining balance was paid off soon thereafter (before the two week delivery date) so that all items would be delivered together.
I left the store expecting my delivery within two weeks as promised. Unfortunately, the furniture did not arrive as promised and I called the store. I explained the arrangements that I made with Manny for delivery and Phyllis stated that Manny was no longer working for the company. She then stated the new manager was Justin and that Manny made a false promise. The normal time for delivery is three weeks instead of two weeks. Phyllis also stated the mattresses were currently not in stock and they were waiting for a delivery truck to return because they may be on that truck. The only item in stock (in the warehouse) was my daughter's bedroom set (which was not delivered). Phyllis Smolar told me they would hold the bedroom set until all the furniture to be delivered was in stock. She guaranteed that two truck loads of mattresses were arriving soon and they would deliver everything all at once. She then informed me that my son's bedroom set was not in stock.
Two more weeks passed and I never received the promised deliver. I called the store and spoke with Justin, so that would I not jeopardize my daughter's bedroom set being sold while still in stock, he suggested I come to pick it up. So I did.
As time passed I was continuously calling and communicating with the store regarding the delivery of the other furniture. Every time I inquired about my son's bedroom set they always stated 'it is not in stock'. On 10/21/07, I received a delivery of one mattress set. Then a week later, the other two sets of mattresses were delivered along with the second mirror and a damaged headboard. The dresser was not delivered. I immediately called the store and spoke with Justin. I informed him of the damaged headboard and that the dresser was not included ion the delivery, which he noted on my account. He informed me that he would call the warehouse to find out what happened to the dresser. I told him that I would return the damaged headboard to switch it for a new one. He said 'no, just keep it and he would have the delivery company deliver a new one when they delivered the dresser and they would take the damaged headboard back to the warehouse. He also stated they had a dresser and headboard in stock at the Worcester store. He was going to have it shipped to their Dedham warehouse and then deliver it to me.
Unfortunately, this promise never happened either. When I called again and spoke with Justin He offered me a different dresser that he had available in the Dedham store. I said 'ok, I will accept it'. I was to call him back with date for pickup. Two days later I called him to confirm my pickup date. I was then informed that Justin no longer worked there and they had no documentation of this arrangement. I spoke with Phyllis and she informed that she would include two free lamps along with my dresser which was to be delivered soon. The lamps were restitution for the past mishaps and misunderstandings on their part.
As it stands I made several attempts from October 2007 to Present to have the headboard replaced, and the dresser and lamps delivered. The most recent promise of delivery date was April 3 and 4th of 2008 which Phyllis stated I could not return the damaged headboard and mirror for refund because 5 months has passed but the bedroom set was still a hot item in their store. I have no recollection of this policy especially since I have been trying to return the furniture since October 2007.
I think I have gone above and beyond the call of patience with the company and its bait and switch tactics. I have been verbally and mentally abused and push to the degree of exhaustion. I asked the company for upper management names and numbers to resolve this on a higher level but no cooperation was given by the Dedham store. As I researched the store on the web, I found this site and realized that I was not the only one privy to their scandals and lies. Thank you for creating this site!
