TxTag billing / overcharging / monopoly
Daily I am being overcharged by txtag. Have never paid late, EVeR! We have to call TXTAG weekly bc our toll tag is being charged, and then they go back and add manual charges (sometimes being not only double billed, but triple, quadruple billed). They are adding manual charges and go back & have almost been overcharged on every single toll. Some charges are milliseconds apart, yet TXTAG will say that’s not a duplicate charge. I’m being overcharged hundreds and hundreds of dollars. This needs to be investigated really deeply. How is there private companies also collecting money? This is a monopoly. Only 1 case is showing to be resolved out of 114 cases in here? How can this continue? At this point, I am reaching out to a lawyer. There is some very sketchy & evil going here with their billing system. Let’s see how long it takes for them to contact me and actually correct their mistakes.

Not sure what is better to just remove all my Tx tags at this point? Either way, I’ve been overcharged by them for years and years. We will be Contacting the news medias again.

TxTag
TxTag pulling from my bank account 2 to 3 times a day in December 2022. When I called TxTag to inquire about all these withdrawal. They told me that there was a glitch with the system and I was not being charged from January 2022. I didn't receive any email, call or text about it. I only know about this glitch is when I saw TxTag withdrawal 12 times between December to January 2023. And when I started to get toll violation from other toll road.
Billing
My son, Koby Fitzgerald, died on April 5, 2022. I have talked to several people at txtag and have done everything they asked me to. The first persone asked me to create an online account. I created an online account and uploaded his death certificate. The next person asked me to email his death certificate so I emailed a copy of his death certificate. The third person asked me to mail his death certificate, so i did. I have also mailed a copy to the address that processes the bills. 8 month later I am still being sent bills with late fees being attached. This is ridiculous

I have been trying for 1 week to update my payment method on the TxTag website, my old credit card expired and I didn't want to end up getting bills for tolls... I have yet to be able to update my information! I have "chatted" with two different CSR and both told me the same thing: log in, remove the old credit card info, add the new credit card info and choose the option to replenish the account automatically. I told both that I tried that and it didn't work, they told me to call the customer service number, I did that and the system told me it couldn't verify the info I'd entered. Tried another credit card, same thing. I tried FOUR different cards and still couldn't get the system to recognize the info! I don't even know what to do at this point, the TxTag website was fine until this "update" or "upgrade" and now it's just a pain in the neck and not worth the hassle. I've emailed twice asking for someone to tell me how to cancel my tag and close my account - I'm going back to my HCTRA EZTAG (since now it works like the TxTag) because at least I know I can get in touch with a human being who understands my issues and can help me solve them.

New TXTAG
Name: Ronnie D. Shelton - I've had an account since 2012. I called about 3-4 months ago to add another vehicle to my account. The young man that waited on me said that he would mail the paperwork to me. I gave him the mailing address &y debit card info. To this day I have received nothing. I haven't been worried since no charge for the $47.00 was made on my card against my bank account. I called about 2 weeks ago and tried again to get the same thing done & was told to call back in about 1 week as they were having trouble with the computer system. I called yesterday. The lady was nice and we were on the line for about 15-20 minutes. Everything was going smooth until I tried to give her my debit card number & info. I gave her the number, plus the expiration date, the 3 numbers on the back & that's when she told me that she couldn't take that info.!
oh! yes there is something I left out. When I first got on the phone with the lady, I gave her my account number & was informed that that number was no longer any good. She then gave me my new number? Anyway, I still want to get another vehicle added to my account & put $40.00 in it. Would you please have someone call me that can do everything that needs to be done. If you do not have 1 person there can do everything that I need to have done to setup my account with the number & can take my payment. I do not want to be transferred to another party or whatever...1 person that can do it all.

I don't live in Austin, however I made a trip up north and accidently got on the toll road, so now for last 2 years they have been sending me a bill in the mail. The first one, I paid, then another came.
In total over the last 2 years, I have 3 tolls at least 20 times now! Thinking ok I paid it now nope just got another one. This time I finally called them they said all they could do is reduce it from 13 dollars to 1.15 I said fine will that finally satisfy you. I have literally paid over a 100.00 over the last couple of years for 3 tolls
TxTag is SCAM and a Fraud

I have a txtag on both my vechicles, i got a bill central texas mobiltity authory, I have tried many times to call but no one seems to either understand or do not want to help. I need to correct my information on your system so my tolls bill will be taken out of my account. License#, Owner & Address Info Being Used From TX DMV is Incorrect
I received a TX toll bill erroneously for the second time.
The owner of the vehicle with license plate RZW4101 is not me. The DMV has erroneously linked my name and address to this license plate. Please check your video as I do not drive the vehicle that has this license number on your recording.
My husband and I have two cars, which includes a white 2017 Mercedes Benz GLE43 and a silver 2018 Toyota Tacoma. Both vehicles are registered in our TxTag account.

txtag tollway tag and account
Updated my Credit Card for auto-replenish in June 2022. System has not been charging the card. One of the reasons for using a tollway tag is to get a better rate and being able to auto-replenish the amount available for covering tolls. With the TxTag system not auto-replenishing as per my contract with them, I receive neither the discount nor the convenience. As of this writing, I supposedly owe TxTag $96, and owe CTRMA a bunch that hasn't caught up with me yet, as they are having to bill me after TxTag declines to pay them for the use of my tag. Those bill include mailing costs and almost double the toll.
Desired outcome: TxTag should waive any and all current charges due to their programming negligence. They should also cover all of the additional fees being charged by CTRMA (Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority).
This is exactly my scenario, except they want $350 for my original $16 toll. Talked to both entities numerous times, waiting on hold for hours, threatened and given bogus info, or told everything had been resolved! A joke! My four vehicles all have valid tags, and my credit card has never had a problem. So, so angry, and now they have put me on the habitual offenders list! This problem only happens with one vehicle of the four. I have been an impeccable user of the toll roads for many years before this happened. I sm disgusted and I will be taking them to court.
txtag billing
TXTag charged my account 4 payments of $20 in one day. When I called to ask why I had $80 charged in 4 payments all on the same day, I was told by a customer service rep that I was being charged overdraft fees because the transaction didn't through which was incorrect because I had over $1,000 in my bank account and the charges did go through because that was the reason for my call. My second call on that same day I was told that I would receive a $60 refund within 30 days of when charges were charged to my checking account. When I didn't receive a refund at the 30 day mark, I called again and was told that those charges were charged because a balance was owed but she couldn't tell me what the balance was so that didn't help. I asked to speak to a Manager who told me I had over $77 in charges since May and the charges were legit. Why couldn't they tell me that on the first call? What is wrong with this organization that it takes 3 phone calls and over 30 days to give me accurate information? Get it together! You caused me stress for no reason. Also, I can't login to my account because every time I went to reset my password, the system kept changing it back to my previous password which wasn't working. Now, I have exhausted my login attempts and cannot get into my account for 24 hours. I want to verify my charges today and be done with this. Unfortunately, my stress and worry will continue for another day! If there was another company I could go to for tolls, I most certainly would because I'm more than disappointed - I'm angry! You obviously don't train your customer service representatives.
Desired outcome: I hope I never have to call your company again because I don't trust I will get the accurate information ever.
Never been to Houston or Austin in my life
I have received a bill from Tx Tag for charges I guess for toll charges acc# [protected] Contract Acc # [protected] year 2021 or 2022 In the years I have not travel no where, Never been to Austin or Houston , I have only co sign for a 2012 Dogge Ram an have have no paper plate the is the second time I have received a bill the first one was from Houston which I have never been there an now from Austin I have never been to Austin, Thank you. Sent pay by mail while my account shows plenty of funds available
Multiple time recently I have used a toll road in Texas. After a few months I get a bill stating I owe for the use of those tolls. I have auto pay on my account and am using a card that is up to date and has plenty of funds available. The worst is a toll road in Fort Worth that is supposed to work with the TEXAS TAG. It does not. Same thing on some roads around Austin. Trying to contact customer service is pointless. If you can talk to a person at all, there is “nothing” they can do. We switched to a pike pass.

I have unfortunately wasted more time than necessary trying to work with Txtag to resolve a billing error. The issue was resolved in 2020 but now in 2022 I got a past due bill in the mail again and Txtag has no record of this issue being resolved. I am overly frustrated with being billed randomly for charges from 2018 that I have proven are not mine.
This company is incompetent on every level.

This is an attempt to resolve an ongoing issue which Txtag which the company has failed to address for months.
I just spoke again with multiple people from their customer service group, I have come onsite in March, I have filed a complaint online, I initiated a compliant in March which up until this point (3 months later, I have not heard a word from them on).
I spoke with the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority and they explained that TXtag is famous for these type of issues. Their system was updated in Jan and everything was incorrect, backed up and matched incorrectly.
CTRMA was very helful and waved any fees they could. For the toll charges they told me to contact TxTag and demand that Txtag sends a dispute on my behalf through them for the charges TX tag sent to them on my behalf for the period oct 8th 21-feb 14 22.
Then once received, they will wave the charges and you can charge me as a txtag owner.
I need your immediate attention to this matter and help as tx tag has completely ignored all my disputes, claims and complaints.
I need them to tend to this request in the next 2-5 days and wave all charges that were submitted to the other agency. I need them update my records with discounted charges, remove all fees and then I will pay and close my account with them.
We need this addressed ASAP.

We moved to TX last year in June. Immediately we bought tags and placed on our dashboard.
The license places were then changed and TXtag never updated their records. We spoke to a rep who assured us the change has been made.
As a result we incurred hundreds of $$$ error charges.
We went to one of their location and filed a dispute. I have emailed them and contacted them numerous times.
No resolution still.

This bill is in my son's name. He is in the US Air Force and is stationed in Valdosta, GA. He not been anywhere near the State of Texas since November of 2020. I did call him to verify this before I submitted this complaint.
It's funny how I have read several complaints that are on the same Hwy SH 130 in Flugerville, Tx. Something has to be wrong with that camera.
Desired outcome: This charge needs to be deleted. As soon as possible. And your system needs to be fixed so this stops happening.
Unjustified bill, not reposnsive customer service

With amount of $6.13, that as they said is about a car with license plate number of: DK-6C-061, Nissan Altima 2010 white that I transferred to another person in 2015, and I have filed the Transfer Notification from online for it, but she didn't get the title in her name. I want to cancel this bill.

Charged for a vehicle I dont own
Received a bill for $10.15. transaction [protected], 749 am on March 3, 2022 for plate FVK5247 on SH130. I dont own any vehicle with that plate. I live in Kerrville and was not in Austin on that date. I called the hotline. Gave them the information. They looked at the picture of the vehicle and id'ed it as a White Chevy Truck. I dont own one. She said she would get back to me with a complaint number. After 25 min on hold seh never returned but I did get a recording asking me how satisfied I was with the service I recieved...lol. What joke.

Toll Road Billing
I am being invoiced for a plate number that is not mine. Their system is incapable of differentiating the letter "I" and the number "1". HCTRA seems to have no issue with this. It may be worth the time for TxTag to contact them to see what system changes are required to enable accurate invoicing. Until then I suggest they audit all invoicing.
Desired outcome: Invoice the correct licence plate number.

On November 27, 2021 my husband and I made a trip to Round Rock to visit his sister via Austin from Fredericksburg. We tried to avoid toll roads as they are not user friendly. We must have gotten on one because we received a bill from Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority dated December 23, 2021. I paid the bill with my Visa card on January 3, 2022.
Recently I received a bill from TXTAG for this same trip with a statement date of 2/28/2022. I called TxTag and told them about my other bill and they had no explanation why I received a bill from the CTRMA. I then called CTRMA and was told without a TxTag they have jurisdiction to bill. We do not and have never had a tag because as I stated before we do not like toll roads and refuse to pay into a system we do not want to be a part of. We pay plenty of taxes as it is.
Today I called TxTag again to discuss what I had been told from CTRMA. The gal said it was not true. Who am I to believe? I read up on information regarding your website and the many problems that have been encountered through your billing agency IBM. Perhaps since noone seems to have correct information it would be best just to tell me to disregard the bill for $2.88.
