TGI Fridays Poor service

Today (8th June 23 at 1 o’clock) myself and my mum visited TGI Fridays in Chelmsford. This is the forth visit in a row we have had the worse service I have ever experienced.

We arrived at the restaurant just before 1 lunch time. As we were being shown to our table we were informed that service was going to be slow due to being ‘busier than expected’ and there was only one person waiting tables. We immediately knew what was to come as we had been told the same excuse on previous visits but we decided to stay as we were already at our table and at 39 weeks pregnant I didn’t have the energy to walk elsewhere.

The waitress was reasonably prompt at taking our order for drinks and food shortly after arriving. I ordered a Diet Coke and my mum ordered a Mojito, my Coke arrived about 5/10 mins after but I could immediately see the syrup had run out as it was almost clear in colour. I took a sip to check if it tasted ok, it didn’t. We waited patiently for the waitress to return with my mums drink and so that I could ask for a replacement Coke. Around 20 mins passed and no one returned so I went to find someone and politely reminded them my mum didn’t have her drink and asked if it would be ok to get a fresh Diet Coke as it tasted like soda water. The girl proceeded to list all the jobs she had to do before she could come back to our table to arrange this. Although I thought this was an odd response and attitude I said ‘no problem’ and continued to wait. Around 45 mins after arriving at the restaurant still no one had returned to our table to give my mum her drink and replace mine. My mum got up and found a staff member who advised her she would check on where her drink was. No one returned, we caught someone’s attention a few mins after and were told that they didn’t have the ingredients for her cocktail. Since it had taken so long to get to this point my mum just made do with tap water as we didn’t want to wait another 50 mins for a drink. I got my new drink at this point which was exactly the same as the original despite me explaining the syrup has clearly run out. I made do because I was fed up by this point since we had also noticed around 20 minuets previous that our food was sat on the side getting cold. I’d like to add that there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant and one couple outside having drinks so I was confused as to why everything was taking so long and where the waitress kept disappearing to. We then got our food, of course it was hardly warm but again, we were starving now and just wanted to eat and get out. Of course, we had to call someone over to get the bill which then took a long time to come and not one thing was cleared from our table throughout our visit so we were just sat waiting surrounded by dirty plates and glasses.

I’m pretty understating with these things as I’ve worked in retail for 10+ years so I, more than most, get what it’s like sometimes. Having said that, this was beyond a joke, the young waitress was pleasant and polite, as were we in return but my god she had no sense of urgency whatsoever, when you go out to eat and pay in full for a meal, you expect a standard of service. I can let it go once or twice but this this every time, we come away promising never to return. Really unhappy!

TGI Fridays Service

First when we walked in there was no person greeting or seating people. When someone. And over they oh are you being helped, there was no way we were being helped there was two other parties besides us waiting to get seated. Once we got seated it took roughly 5-8 minutes before someone asked if we were being helped. That server then told us someone would be right with us. When our server arrived we ordered our drinks, appetizers & main courses. (Please review the video footage from that night) Honestly if other restaurants on that block had more kid friendly menus we would have walked out. Several other customer actual did leave because of the horrible service. We saw several servers walking around but no one was helping do anything. Our server after taking our order disappeared for 15mins yes 15 & the whole time we didn’t even have drinks. We stopped a server and say hey we didn’t even get our drinks he said your server didn’t come back we said no. He then replied that he would go and make them because she should have been back. The server then asked the manager to jump in and help because other customers were complaining as well. We got out appetizers and drinks but then there’s was a long wait on the main course. In order to get our main course we had to stop another server and ask about because ours disappeared and that’s servers reply was that “your food is in the window I saw it and I’m going to tell your server to bring it to because this is ridiculous “. It must have worked our server appeared apologizing and had our plates. We flagged our server down to get a refill of my sons slushy and apparently the tan out of whatever juice they use, so she made one with soda & said it’s practical the same thing w/o even asking if he would be ok with the substitute and for the record it want the same and he didn’t like it. That’s fiasco was over and we wanted the check our server had disappeared again we had to ask the another server for our check, that server then got the manager so that he could bring our checks. Oh yeah and the manager gave us the straws for our drinks. The manager never once apologized for the terrible service after we told him about. Me & my husband first met at a Fridays so it is near and dear to us, but when I tell you this was the by far the absolute WORST SERVICE we have ever received at Fridays hands down. It took us two hours or more from start to finish and most of that time was spent waiting. We tipped all of the other servers for helping us throughout the night but that was horrible & we don’t usual complain but this time I felt I had no choice somebody needed to know that, that location is giving friends a bad name.

Desired outcome: I’d like a full refund. Again if you review the video footage from that night you’d probably be flabbergasted at the service we received and want to re-train some of the staff members. Feel free to contact me.

TGI Fridays App

I am trying to sign in to the app on my phone and it asks for my email address. After I hit submit it takes me to "create your profile" (I already have an account so why am I doing this?) I proceed to fill it out and then it says "mobile number already in use".

That's it...can't move on any further...

I deleted the app and reloaded it and it does the same thing.

I used the "contact us" form and have yet to hear back.

We have plans to visit your restaurant this Saturday. It would be nice to be able to use my rewards.

Maybe I will just delete the app and we will go somewhere else.

Mary

Desired outcome: I would like to be able to access my rewards on the app otherwise it is useless to me.

TGI Fridays Food

Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Restaurants
The issue that I have experienced was:
Table booked: Monday 8 May at 12:00
We ordered the following meals:
Ultimate Cheeseburger - meat was over cooked and very tough to eat
New York Strip with Legendary Glaze sauce - Chips were plain and not seasoned as stated on the menu
New York Strip with Peppercorn sauce - asked for medium well and got medium burnt. Chips were plain and not seasoned as stated on the menu
It occurred on: 2023-05-08
This meant that This meal cost almost £70 between 3.
Outrageous that the price has not only increased but the meal was rubbish, everything was over cooked and not for consumption!
I would like a full refund, I don’t think I would go back ever again nor would I recommend to friends or family.
I look forward to your prompt response on this matter. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply to this email address.

Desired outcome: Refund

TGI Fridays Food and service

Party of 12, Absolutely disgusted and disappointed in the meal we have just ordered! The staff were shocking! The service used to be the best around! Waited 20mins just for a capri sun I could have taken from the fridge myself! Freezing food as it was sat on the side and it was the wrong meal! Hair hanging off one of the plates the waitress was holding when I pointed it out! No apology even when I spoke to a manager very defensive, and to top it off, no steak, no sweet potato fries, no chicken wings nothing! “because it’s bank holiday” well it’s not! It’s Tuesday but ok! I could go on and on! Will NOT be returning

Cancelled the order and went next door to a lovely curry house and spent our money in there instead

TGI Fridays 12th birthday celebration today

Hi I booked a table for my daughter’s 12th birthday today (28/04/23). We attended the fareham restaurant and booked for 6pm. Prior to attending we called ahead to see if we could bring a cake or if there was anything special they do for birthdays, we were told that the birthday girl would get a slice of cake. We ordered 2 sharing starters, there was no price on the menu that was fine. When the main meal came the food was cold but it was busy and service was very poor so we ate it, not wanting to spoil the birthday. We were shocked when we got the bill and the cost of the nachos, it was £14 just for a plate of nachos, but we settled the bill. I was just flummoxed at the cost of the nachos I had another look at the menu after doing so we realised that we were meant to get a portion of fries each with the nachos which we never received. Then to top it all off no cake arrived so we had to ask for it which spoilt the surprise for my daughter. For £125 the service was poor and the overall quality was poor. no happy birthday was sung either and this was the main reason we booked tgi for the celebration wanting her to feel special. Although there was a card on the table not 1 member of staff said happy birthday and even when we did get the cake after having to request we still never got a happy birthday. Very disappointed with the experience as this was the main event to celebrate her birthday as mum has been unwell this week and unable to do much for her.

Desired outcome: Response to my complaint to [protected]@live.co.uk. Refund of the sharing starters.

We came in to claim our promotional free meal under 79 (actual bill of aed 500) and we ended up getting called Liars indirectly by the Dub dub and floor manager. Felt insulted, were spoken to in a condescending tone and we left with a sour experience.

TGI Fridays Desert voucher and service

14.4.23 1pm Aberdeen beach restaurant

We had came to the restaurant to celebrate my daughters 9th birthday. The waiter was really attentive to begin with getting our drinks and taking our order quickly. We had quite a wait to be served our main meal but took this as it being busy lunch time and Easter holidays. At this point everyone was still really happy enjoying our time and the server was still really attentive bringing us refills of drinks etc. our main meals were delicious and everyone was still really happy.

My issue then came with our deserts. Through the app I had vouchers for free kids meals with an adult main meal during the Easter holidays and I also had a voucher for a free desert with a main meal. My husband also had the desert voucher via his app.

I asked one server if these were valid and ok to use for 2 of our deserts. I also asked our server and gave him the 3 voucher codes. We then ordered 4 s’mores sundaes for our children and myself and husband to share. These took over 30 minutes to come out and by this point we had been in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours.

Staff sang happy birthday to my daughter and we all sat enjoying our deserts laughing and enjoying our day. It wasn’t until after all of this and we had spent 2hrs and 15minutes in the restaurant that we asked for our bill and where told by the server that he was told by the manager we would need more main meals for our desert code to work.

We had 3 kids meals and 2 adult main meals. Yet paid for 4 deserts.

I’m sure you can understand in the current financial climate we had budgeted for this meal out for our daughter and were hoping to use these vouchers for an extra treat for everyone.

If we had been told before the dessert were made we would not have ordered any and would have got them a treat later in the day.

Both myself and my husband felt like we were put in a position that we had no option but to pay for these. Yes we ordered 4 but that was to make things fare for my family and yes this is only £15/16 more to our bill but that was money we had budgeted for time at the arcades for my daughter before the cinema. This was something that we didn’t get to do and we’re disappointed we had to skip. No where did we see any conditions to having a desert with main meal.

The staff member waiting to tell us till we asked for our bill left us in a very awkward position in-front of our children and surrounding customers.

Desired outcome: Please make your vouchers clearer to staff.Look into service time

TGI Fridays Food and initial service

We arrived and it was quiet in the restaurant however 3 members of staff could see we were waiting to be seated they were having a nice chat amongst themselves and you could tell they were just waiting for someone else to come and assist rather than do it however it took another 5 minutes of us standing around before actually coming over to assist with our reservation and seating us the food portion for my husbands main was ridiculously small and for the price we feel ripped off so much so my husband was still hungry and had to buy food elsewhere, the food was cold my sons food was cold and he didn’t eat any of it, the booth we were place in was filthy it had dirt and dust in between the seat which completely put me off my food the evening was a treat for our son which we don’t get to do often and feel overall £59 spent went down the drain

Desired outcome: Refund would be ideal as we feel the food, initial service and food quality and seating hygiene was very poor

TGI Fridays Customer service

To whom it may concern: This complaint is in reference to one of your employees, a manager named "Miranda," at the location stated above. Myself, my wife, my brother, and his wife and daughter came to Fridays hoping to have a nice dinner and night out. Instead, we were humiliated and racially profiled. We were seated, the waitress took our drink orders. I ordered "ONE" beer, as did my brother. So two beers. The drinks were taking too long to come from the bar, so we decided to go buy one beer each at the bar.

In the meantime, we are all back seated, and here comes a waitress with a beer, so I told her we already got the beer from the bar. About 10 minutes later, here comes Miranda, "the manager," with another beer. By this point, we’re wondering what’s going on. No one was communicating with each other to know that we had already ordered beers from the bar. This is when I felt like she got irritated that she had to take back another beer that was no longer needed because it was ordered at the bar instead. The waitress came back to the table and told me and my brother that our table was flagged to no longer be able to order any more alcohol, which was weird because we had just gotten there and had only had one beer each. I then asked to speak with the manager, "Miranda." She said that my brother was cut off from ordering alcohol because his words were slurred; mind you, he barely said two words to her and only had one beer. He also has a slight speech impediment. She said that he was cut off from ordering drinks. I then told her that she was wrong for even considering doing that because he only had one beer, and I told her as well as my sister-in-law that she was racial profiling us. Yes, we’re black, and we felt like we were discriminated against, humiliated, and racially profiled in front of all the customers that were there.

Once our food finally came, we no longer had an appetite and were disgusted at what had just taken place. We left the food there and walked out. Miranda "the manager" never once apologized for what she did; in fact, she kept arguing back and forth with us in front of other customers. She had proof that we only ordered one beer each, so what was the problem? who gets highly intoxicated off of ONE beer to the point where they need to be cut off from ordering any more. When I left, I was so upset that I couldn’t even sleep last night thinking about how embarrassing and sad this situation that took place was. I plan to also write a letter of complaint to your corporate office. There needs to be some major training in your management department. We were paying customers just like everyone else and should not have been treated as such. I hope that you will give this your immediate attention and take action as needed. I also have video footage if needed. My contact information is above. Please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Desired outcome: Management training

TGI Fridays Product and service

Hi, I'm emailing regarding an incident that took place at Bolton TJI Fridays on mothers day 19th March 14;00. My name is Karen Landsberger, firstly i would like to inform you that i eat at TJIS Exchange in Manchester on a regular basis.

On mothers day i attended TJI in Bolton with my mother and my 21 year old daughter Demi and my 10 year old daughter Indi for a family meal which turned into an absolute nightmare and the most embarrassing day of my life, i urge you to do a full investigation before i go to the papers and tell them about my experience with the Bolton TJI im mortified and so are my children, my youngest Indi has been to school today as she has anxiety through the roof.

We were seated at our table and everything was ok we ordered our drinks and meals, my mum ordered 2 strawberry daquaries, when one came it was like ice no juice or alcohol in it, so she asked them to change it which they did and it still wasn't right, but said she would drink it, but never did. As we eat at TJIS all the time we order the same thing as its usually amazing, me and my mum both ordered Sirlion steak which comes with salad and fries, when it came my mum was missing her salad so i asked one of your employees Charlotte Byrne if she could get it far us, she ignored me and went off to the till chatting to another girl that worked for you, which was really rude. Then another member of your team were giving the table next to use their food so i said excuse me my mum missing her salad could you please get it for her? He said yes no worries and got her the salad which eventually came. We began to eat our steaks which were tough and tasteless i ate mine as i was hungry but left some as it was fat and bristle. my 2 daughters ate their meals, as i had finished my food and so had my 2 girls we were sat chatting whilst my mum was still eating your employee came to our table and scooped up my 2 girls plates without asking which was really rude, she walked off and took them to the kitchen, then returned to our table and went to take my plate and i lifted my arm up slightly as i was leaning on the table and said NO your not taking it my mum is still eating and its rude to take plates when someone is still eating, she rolled her eyes at me and walked off. I then asked to speak to the manager to complain about the rude customer service the quality of the steaks a lady with blonde hair came over and i began to tell her what the problems where and she said give me a minute. she walked off. By this point my mum left her food as it was disgusting. We sat and waiting for a good 20 minutes waiting for the manager to return which she didn't so we asked someone for the bill. The next thing we know 3 police officers came in and came to my table saying i assaulted Charlotte the girl that rolled her eyes at me! I was absolutely shocked and disgusted my 10 year old started to cry and panic knowing i didnt do anything wrong, the table next too me who where complete strangers said its disgusting how your team were treating me and began to tell the police i didn't do anything wrong. The stranger got up and went to the manager and told him straight that your team where out of order for treating me this way and stated that i hadn't done anything wrong. I was so embarrassed i have never been in trouble with the police before and they insisting i would get arrested if i had assaulted this girl which i had NOT. Everyone in the resturant was looking at us my daughter was heart broke. The police said we are going to watch the CCTV which i said yes please do has i hadn't done anything wrong, as 2 police officers stood around me i was telling them what had happened they spoke to me like i was a criminal in front of my kids i was mortified. So one of the officers went up stairs to check the camera and i was still sat there with my family in bits. Finally the police officer came down and said it was a misunderstanding, i was like i know that because i had not done anything wrong. The police then said they want you to leave? I was like WHAT, don't worry we will, none of your team apologised to me nor did the girl for falsely accusing me of assaulting her. So we got up with the police still around us so we could pay the bill which was wrong, they added the salad bowl to as an extra, my mum refused to pay for the steak as she didn't eat they took our money without out a thank you and we left. Worst experience of my life and mothers day was ruined due to incompetent staff, who very rude no customer service skills what so ever. My family were traumatized by the hole thing. I will never eat there as long as i live. I will wait to hear of your findings before i pursue this incident further.

TGI Fridays Product and service

Awful experience from start to finish.

We waited a while before someone come to seat us.

We placed our order of drinks and the wrong drinks which weren’t very hot were served blaming the coffee machine for being faulty.

When our food was served it wasn’t very hot and my friend had to ask for extra fries that they had missed. Whilst putting our food on the table my coffee was knocked over. Thankfully as I mentioned above it wasn’t very hot but it soaked through my clothes and on my diabetic device which was in my leg. I was wet and uncomfortable throughout our time there and had to cut our shopping trip short. We were only reimbursed the coffees as the staff hadn’t told management about the coffee spillage. I know accidents happen but it was the way it was dealt with that was appalling. I asked to see a manager and the supervisor came to take details of the complaint. She was very apologetic and said that she was going to escalate it and took my details and said I’ll receive an email with an apology and voucher for the poor experience. I’ve heard absolutely nothing.

One of the waitresses had a bad attitude and kept staring and intimidating us as she clearly knew we were complaining.

I will never come back to this particular restaurant again.

I’d appreciate it if someone could actually acknowledge this complaint.

Desired outcome: I’d like this complaint followed up or you will leave me no choice to take it further.

TGI Fridays Server

My family of 5 went to TGI Fridays (Wayne, NJ) last week, 3/24/23. The server was beyond awful. He brought out the food for 4 out of 5 of us. He forgot to put in my 9 year old's son's order. None of us could eat anyway, as there wasn't any utensils. He forgot those as well. When the chicken nuggets & fries were FINALLY brought to our table, they were placed on a soaking wet plate (probably right out of the dishwasher). Then, we had to wait another 10-15 min for them to bring my son a new order (at this point he was crying hysterically because he was so hungry). I never got my beer, and my husband never got his dressing. Now I understand why this Fridays wasn't crowded at all on a Friday night.

Also, this was the FIRST time we ever used our new credit card. At 1:30 am, we received a fraudulent charge for purchasing hair weaves. Our server was a male of African American descent as well. Highly suspicious.

I was looking forward to a night out with the family. It turned out to be the worst dinner service we have ever had.

Rebecca Genese

Desired outcome: Gift card/ reimbursement for dinner

TGI Fridays Food on the £18 mreal deal

Hi we went to the nottingham branch on the 3rd january. We put a order in for you £18 meal deal.

We had the potato skins which were inedible as they were hard and burnt. How can you send food like this to your customers. I did send mine back. The second choice was the chicken bites, they were not very nice either or your burger.

Put it down to experience, but I wont eat at your restaurant ever again. Your food is dedusting.
