taking too long to deliver purchased items
I have purchased seven books in mid July from Book Depository from Taiwan, I certainly understand that shipping takes time, but it has taken probably more than three weeks now to deliver the books and it definitely did not take this long the last time I'd ordered from Book Depository. It says shipping would take 7-10 business days after dispatching on the website, however, it has already gone past the promised date with no possible way of tracking my items and I am greatly concerned about this issue.

I am still waiting for a book I purchased in November 2017. I emailed book depository and was told the book had been dispatch to a different name and address than I supplied. I have followed up with and been assured a replacement was being sent. The replacement never arrived. I have email documentation of all the exchanges and the assurance that my replacement was on its way. I have been waiting for 8 months for a book that I was supposed to take travelling with me 6 months ago and no one seems to care.
I feel like I have been robbed, you can't take someones money and then not care that the good or service that has been paid for has not been received. That is simply theft. I'm so disappointed in this company and will never recommend anyone use this service. This was such a simple problem that I could have overlooked and had it been attended to correctly I may have left a satisfied customer. Instead I have been screwed around by the customer service 'help' representatives and wasted not only my money but so much time emailing back and forth and the emotional frustration of being so disregarded is taxing.I'm so done with this back and forth. I could have walked into a book store ten times to find this book on my own and it would still be half the trouble than trying to get a book from this company.
tatty book
Ordered hardback version of "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck. Book advertised as BRAND NEW. CENTENNIAL EDITION. On arrival it was obvious the book had not been bound properly. Pages were not trimmed to size and looked as if they had been individually torn. Edges very ragged giving the book a very tatty appearance. They charged me £22.70 for receiving this garbage.
florilegium by joseph banks
Hi.
I've written to The Book Depository a couple of times, my aunt has also tried in vain to return the water damaged Florilegium by Joseph Banks.
I sent this and 2 other books to my Aunt Clare. The Florilegium by Joseph Banks was the only book (of the 3 sent to her) to have water damage but the damage was completely destructive and cannot be saved!
We both have written (and sent photos) to your complaints department but still no joy.
This was supposed to be a present but it's turned into a nightmare!

Unfortunately as per pictures attached, this book was wet and therefore it not in a condition of a new book. I love books and buy hard copies as I like to have them in good condition.

I purchased a book on the 26th April and I have not received it as yet.I have made numerous follow ups only to be told the book has been dispatched .The book was to be delivered to South Africa and to date nothing has arrived. Something should be done about companies like these. I would like answers to be provided as it seems like standardised texts are used for reply.

I am complaining that the book depository staff used a wrong address and refused to follow up
I placed an order on 23rd may and early june.
After several inquiries, I noted that the staff of book depository filled in the wrong address.
However, the staff asked me to check the local post and refused to follow up, even there was negligence.
I paid more than usd 300. The order was lost and they asked me to wait for 5-10 weeks until the lost books are returned to them, before they could refund.
It's a terrible experience.

they should also clear cut say to customer that they are on their own once they made payment.

Their services are horrible and I am extremely frustrated with their responses. It's been more than a month and they are asking me to check my nearby postal services and I did that as well but I dont have any order on my name. I dont understand why they ask us about the address then when they will asking to reach out to postal services. Most horrible thing is they dont have any tracking number. Placed order for three books on June 6 2018.
A charge has been made on my visa card for about US$100.
However, I have not received a confirmation mail from Book Depository.
As a result, I can't track my orders.
The customer service informed me that my order was anonymously placed and the email used is not registered under an account.
There isn't any explanation what this means.
If the order was anonymous, how was it possible for my card to be charged?
Is there any address for the books to be delivered?
The customer service did not respond to further queries.
Until today, I have no idea whether the books will be delivered.
I have not requested for a refund yet.

I ordered a novel at Book Depository website. The novel was dispatched on the 18th May 2018. Unfortunately, I did not receive my order until today, 5th June 2018. I have made complaints with the customer service department but they keep advising me to wait for the order. The novel suppose to arrive by in 8 working days the most. I'm residing in Malaysia. I need this novel for my studies. It's not only disappointing but also frustrating as I trusted this company.
This is basically what is happening to me as well, and as I will be on vacation for almost a month in less a week, I am wanting to receive my ordered novels before so since I had ordered the books specifically because of the long vacation. It is quite frustrating for me as of the situation right now and I hope they can improve their delivery services in the future, even if that means extra cost for shipping.

An order was made for five books. The order reference no. BDU-076-[protected].
The paypal payment system has no page for the delivery address and generates the purchasers address automatically. It did this for the previous order so it is a problem with the book depository system. Customer service were notified of the correct address by email within a few minutes of placing the order.
Today a message was received that the books had already been sent which is an error of book depository and were not stopped as they should have been post quick notification of the correct address.
I cannot wait for over 10 weeks for the books to be received by the person to whom they are to go. It takes 5 weeks to get to Australia, 5 weeks to return and 5 weeks to go to the correct address. I cannot wait this long.
The books must be sent to the correct address that was sent by email a few minutes after the order was taken straight away.

Highly unsatisfied. I ordered 3 books and they have been dispatched on the 9th of March however only one of them reached me. I have contacted Mr. Sandrino Ludick from the customer care department and he has informed that he has ordered replacements and that the books will arrive in 10 work days, this transaction happened on the 7th of May. late and wrong delivery of book

My name is Stephanie von Kanel and on the 29th of March I ordered a Lonely Planet guide to Indonesia (almost 1 month ago).
This morning I received a package, which I thought would have been the Guide. However, when I opened it the book inside was not the oneI had ordered, and is a title I have never heard of before. Even more bizarre is the fact that I side the parcel, the receipt paper which states the order number/name/date etc, states the correct information. I have attached picture to this email of the contents of the parcel. I am extremely dissatisfied with this poor delivery and packaging service.
Not only has the order taken significantly longer than it should have, but I am left with a novel of which I have no interest.
I am now in a position where if the lonely planet guide does not arrive in the next few weeks it will not be of service to my upcoming travels.
I am therefore demanding the following things from the company, and if they are not delivered promptly I will take such issues to the consumer affairs services (this is not the first unsatisfactory service/delivery experience I've had with The Book Depository).
1. I demand the original book [Lonely Planey Guide to Indonesia latest edition] be delivered to my address within the next 7-10 days. If this requires your company to pay for express shipping I suggest you do so.
2. I will not be paying for the returning of the unwanted book by my own funds. If they company wants this novel to be returned I am happy to do so, however a returns parcel/pre-paid stamp should all be provided. As a dissatisfied and poorly attended to customer I should not be liable for such faults in service.
3. If the lonely planet guide does not arrive I demand a full refund.
I have already submitted the complaint to the Book Depository, however as previously experienced the time required for a response and any action is always longer than satisfactory.

Order number BDU-168-[protected] was not fulfilled.
I believed this company is a scam and tried all kinds of lame excuses so the customer keep on waiting. They keep telling me it has been dispatched and told me to check with my local post office, without giving me any tracking number or courier company.
No refunds been made. No follow up on status. A total hoax!
