Helm Management has been a total nightmare
Helm Management has been a total nightmare. We pay a whopping $350 for our HOA fee, but I have no clue what they actually do with that money. And to make matters worse, they've put a chain around our pool, preventing us from using it. Can you believe it? But here's the kicker - they haven't even bothered to lower our HOA fees or send us a letter explaining why the pool is closed or when it will reopen. I'm furious! I want to file a complaint against the board and make sure my voice is heard by the HOA. This is just plain wrong and goes against our rights!

The Helm Management Company has failed to enforce the Community Board of Directors established Rules and Regulations and the Declaration of Covenant, Conditions, and Restrictions regarding trash containers being left on the street long past time limits. These violations have been consistent and ongoing for more than 10 years and are also violations of local Municipal Codes. I have requested a solution to the issue via emails to the Management several times over the years which resulted in little or no corrective actions being taken to resolve the issue. While the unsightly appearance of trash containers and/or trash on the street was originally my primary concern, my concern has now turned mostly to the safety and health concerns associated with this issue (flies, rodents, coyotes, and birds possible disease spread or possible bites/attacks from animals) because many of the trash containers have remained on the street for more than one month. My secondary concern is about the possibility of this issue having a negative effect on the value of my property. The management is highly ineffective. Walkthroughs are rarely done and when they are done it's on a trash collection day or the day prior to the trash collection day which identifies no violations because all of the trash containers on the streets are within requirements at those times. I pay $205 to this management each month, so I expect more in regards to this issue. The primary problem is that Helm and the management are not proactive in enforcing rules.

A few months ago, the property management company, Helm Management, did a very poor job patching our parking lot. They left a large amount of sand behind, which has caused me a lot of inconvenience. I've had to constantly take both my vehicles to the car wash, putting a strain on my finances. Not to mention, there's sand all over my garage, inside my vehicles, and even in my home. As a property owner, it's frustrating that when I complain about their actions, they try to bully me with their attorney. They treat homeowners as if we're just renters. In my opinion, this is the worst property management company around, with a rating of only 1 1/2 stars. I believe they should be responsible for paying to have both my vehicles detailed to prevent further damage. I'm even willing to take this matter to court if necessary.

I have a complaint about the tenant who lives at a certain address. He is clearly violating the community rules by installing a basketball hoop in the parking lot for kids to play. Because the owner of the unit is the community president, the tenant is not receiving any violations. To the community board and the property management, I want you to understand that everyone at this complex has equal rights and must follow the rules. No one is above that. As the community president, you should be following the CC&R more than anyone in the complex. So, I am asking you to tell your tenant to remove that basketball hoop as soon as possible. I feel like you are disrespecting your community by allowing yourself and your tenant to violate the rules. As the property manager of Oakdale Park, you need to enforce the rules. So please do it. Thank you.

I had a claim 'bout a situation caused by my neighbor's pipe burstin'. 'Cause o' this claim, my premiums done gone up and my neighbors, who ain't got no insurance, are protected by a subrogation waiver from our condo Association. I done contacted Helm 'bout my concerns 'bout my neighbor bein' a big liability to them who share a wall with 'em 'cause they ain't got proper homeowners insurance. I done asked Helm to follow up with 'em. I done emailed and called our property manager, who usually good at returnin' calls, but this time it's different. Ain't got no email or phone call 'bout my concerns, even though I done tried. I'm hopin' this ain't a sign o' how they handle homeowner complaints.

They thought the leak was under my bathroom, so they used a jackhammer to break the slab, but surprise, surprise, it wasn't there. Eventually, they found the leak in my master bedroom and did the same thing to fix it. They did fix the leak quickly, but it's been a real pain trying to get any information from the office. They never return my calls or give me updates, and they haven't even bothered to fix the mess they made in my place. It took them forever to partially fix the things they damaged during the repairs. The management company keeps promising that someone will contact me to schedule the necessary repairs, but despite all my calls, voicemails, and emails, I still haven't gotten a proper solution to the problem.
